Seat Exeo won the Golden Steering Wheel 2009 award in upper medium category in Switzerland. Among the competitors were Audi A5 Sportsback, BMW 5 Series, Infiniti G37, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Subaru Legacy and Toyota Avensis. Seems like Seat Exeo is better car than Audi A5, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series.
Technical experts, professional drivers and readers ot the “Auto Bild Switzerland” magazine decided to prize Seat Exeo with 1st place in its category. Beside the price for the car we are not sure that it deserve the gold medal. It is not enough to cost less to beat Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Subaru and Toyota, but looks like this is the best reason for the jury to reward Seat Exeo.
There three diesel and three petrol engines available for Exeo. The petrol engines are 1.6 litre 102hp, 1.8 litre turbo with 150hp and the 200hp TSI. The diesel power units are 120hp,143hp and 2.0 litre DPF Common Rail with 170hp.
Another surprise from Seat comes with Ibiza Ecomotive. The small hatch has a nomination in Green Steering Wheel category in Switzerland. It will be a very successful year for Seat if they win this award too.
