  • How to Create the Best Estimates So Auto Repair Customers Say Yes More Often

    how-to-create-the-best-estimates-so-auto-repair-customers-say-yes-more-often

Let’s be honest, getting customers to say yes isn’t always easy.

You’ve done the inspection. You know the fix. But when the time comes to get the estimate approved? That’s where things often go quiet. Customers often nitpick and question charges they don’t understand, which leads to friction and sometimes refusal to pay.

The modern auto repair world is dynamic. Repair estimates are now much more than just a number. It’s your pitch. It’s where trust is built (or lost) and where most sales are won.

But the best shops know – a clean, transparent, and smart estimate doesn’t just improve approval rates. It’s the recipe for a better and improved customer experience.

Rest assured, you do not have to overhaul every single thing. You just have to make some meaningful tweaks. You just have to be a bit sharper and elegant with your presentation.

In this guide, we’ll break down the small tweaks that make a big difference, so your customers hit “approve” more often, and you keep those bays full.

1.Speak in Plain English, Not Tech-Speak

    An underrated but meaningful aspect.

Tech talk has its place in the back shop, not in your customer’s eyes.

If you want to bond with your customers, technical jargon is not the way to do it.

Replace jargon like “throttle body alignment” with “smooth performance for your throttle.” Instead of endlessly listing labor codes, say “2 hours labor for clutch kit replacement.”

This will help you build a system where the customers will understand what you are offering.

Clear language builds confidence and reduces questions.

    2.   Show the Customer What You See

You might notice a frayed belt or oil leak. But customers won’t, unless you show them.

That is when a diagnostic or vehicle inspection report comes in handy. You can include photos and videos to show customers what is really wrong with their vehicles.

A simple snapshot of the wear you’re fixing makes your estimate feel real. Techs can add captions, which help the customer connect the visual with the service.

Seeing is believing. And offering transparency to customers is important for every auto repair business.

    3.Turn Estimates Into Invoices, Instantly

Nobody wants to wait at the end.

Especially when you are running an auto repair shop, your customers are always in a hurry, and they detest waiting.

Use auto repair estimates software that generates clear and precise estimates that leave no room for confusion. With this software, you can seamlessly include labor, parts, and tax into the invoice as well. You can send the quote directly to the customer via text or email, so they don’t even need to visit the shop.

It feels clean and professional. There’s no waiting in the queue. Customers see it all. And approvals become payments faster.

    4.Provide Options with Tiered Services

Customers like choices. They want options. They do not want rigid and inflexible services.

Persuade them with a sense of urgency while presenting them with various options.

    Include options like:

    • Essential Repair: Basic fix to make it safe.
    • Recommended Maintenance: Higher-quality parts or full systems.
    • Premium Protection: Long-term, high-value solution.

Label them clearly. Let customers decide.

This way, you won’t have to force an upsell. But the customer can make informed and responsible decisions.

    5.Break It Down Clearly

Complex and convoluted estimate layouts make your customers.

Design your estimate layout like this:

    • Customer info and vehicle details at the top
    • Clear service description
    • Labor cost, parts cost, sub-totals
    • Tax and total at the bottom

Use tables or clean bullet points. Emphasize transparency.

When they see how their money is allocated, they feel respected.

    6.Highlight Urgency—Without Panic

Be vocal about something that’s safety-critical. Keep calm and inform your customers responsibly.

Paint a clear picture. Educate them thoroughly about the pros and cons of car maintenance and related services.

    Be persuasive. Say something like:

“This part shows excessive wear. It’s safe now, but could fail in 2–3K miles.”

You’re informing, not scaring. And honest timelines let them decide today. This way you can fill your bay and the customer can avoid any future breakdown.

    A true, win-win.

7.Package with Customer Value in Mind

Another great way of boosting estimates is to make their presentation not only necessary but highly lucrative.

    Consider bundling:

    • Oil + filter + multipoint check
    • AC service + cabin filter
    • Tire rotation + brake inspection

Bundle deals and packages make sense to customers

They look like savings. They feel premium. And they boost your average ticket value.

What the Best Shops Are Doing in 2025

Need some more push? Here is what the market is gravitating towards in 2025.

    • 70% of shops now offer digital estimates with visuals.
    • Shops using tiered option quotes typically see a 10–15% boost in average ticket.
    • Follow-up reminders can lift approval rates by 25%.
    • Instant invoicing tools reduce checkout friction and improve return visits.

These stats aren’t fancy, they’re essential.

    Wrapping It Up

Your estimates are more than numbers. They’re trust-building tools. They’re projections. They’re first impressions.

When your estimates are clear, visual, fast, and actionable, the chances of customers saying yes increase drastically. And when you use smart tools to support that, you gain speed, efficiency, and better conversion rates.

    Start slow, and stay steady.

  • The True cost of owning a Subaru Forester in 2024

    2022-subaru-forester-e-boxer

The Subaru Forester has long been a favorite among SUV enthusiasts, offering a combination of practicality, reliability, and all-wheel-drive capability. However, owning a vehicle involves more than just the purchase price. In this article, we’ll break down the true cost of owning a Subaru Forester in 2024, considering purchase price and financing, insurance, fuel, maintenance, and depreciation.

    Purchase Price and Financing

The starting MSRP for a 2024 Subaru Forester is around $27,500 for the base trim, while higher trims like the Touring can cost upwards of $37,000. Adding features such as roof racks, premium audio systems, or off-road accessories can increase this price further.

For financing, if you opt for a 5-year loan at a 6% interest rate with a 10% down payment, your monthly payment for a base model would be approximately $450–$550, depending on your credit score and additional fees.

    Depreciation

Depreciation, the reduction in value over time, is a significant factor in the total cost of ownership. Subaru vehicles typically retain their value well, with the Forester losing about 40–45% of its value after 5 years. For a $30,000 vehicle, this translates to approximately $13,500 in depreciation over 5 years.

    Fuel Costs

The Subaru Forester is equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. The 2024 Subaru Forester delivers an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 26 mpg city / 33 mpg highway, averaging about 29 mpg combined. With gas prices hovering around $3.50–$4.00 per gallon in 2024, annual fuel costs for driving 15,000 miles would be approximately $1,800–$2,000.

For those considering the Forester Wilderness trim, which is designed for off-road enthusiasts, fuel efficiency drops slightly due to its all-terrain tires and different gear ratios.

    Maintenance and Repairs

Subarus are known for their reliability, but regular maintenance is key to keeping the Forester in good shape. Expect to spend around $600–$800 per year on oil changes, tire rotations, and other routine services. Owners should also budget for unexpected repairs, especially as the car ages.

    • Factory Warranty: Subaru offers a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
    • Extended Warranty Options: For added peace of mind, Subaru provides extended warranties starting at around $1,500.

    Insurance Costs

Car insurance is a significant factor in the cost of ownership. The average annual insurance premium for a Subaru Forester in 2024 is around $1,300–$1,700, depending on the driver’s age, location, driving history, and coverage options.

Subaru car insurance varies based on the model, your location, driving history, and the level of coverage you choose. Subaru vehicles, including popular models like the Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Impreza, are generally affordable and are considered safe vehicles, thanks to their EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and excellent crash test ratings, which can lower insurance rates. However, owners who opt for full coverage and lower deductibles should anticipate higher premiums. Subaru vehicles are affordable to insure due to their excellent safety ratings, robust build, and widespread availability of replacement parts.

    Taxes and Registration

Annual taxes and registration fees vary by state but typically range from $300 to $700 in the first year, decreasing as the vehicle depreciates. Some states also impose additional fees for vehicles with higher emissions, though the Forester’s efficiency keeps these costs modest.

    Total Ownership Costs

When all factors are considered, owning a Subaru Forester for five years can cost between $40,000 and $50,000, depending on trim level, driving habits, and regional factors.

    Conclusion

The Subaru Forester remains a solid choice in 2024, offering excellent value for its capabilities. While its upfront cost and long-term expenses may be higher than smaller vehicles, the Forester’s reliability, safety features, and all-wheel-drive system make it a worthwhile investment for those who need a dependable SUV. By understanding the true cost of ownership, you can better decide if the Forester fits your budget and lifestyle.

  • Caring for Your Vehicle When You Travel: 4 Tips

    caring-for-your-vehicle-when-you-travel-4-tips

We all love a good road trip, and they can make your vacation time all the more special. Having the freedom to move around as you please during your holiday and getting to enjoy the scenic route when you travel simply can’t be replaced.

However, long-distance trips and general vacationing can be hard on your vehicle, and it’s important that you’re aware of the ways in which you need to take extra special care of it. Here are a few tips to keep in mind next time you find yourself heading out of town or planning a long road trip.

    Leave it at Home

When it comes down to it, the best possible option for your car’s safety and longevity is to leave it out of your holiday plans. Putting extra mileage on your vehicle and exposing it to the elements isn’t always worth it, so if you have the option to leave it safely in the garage, this might be the best choice in some situations.

Consider other forms of transportation, such as public transport like buses, trains, or even renting a car when you get there. You can add a touch of luxury to your trip by hiring an Executive Car Service LAX and having yourself delivered by a driver to your hotel. There are loads of benefits to leaving your car at home, too, such as minimising your carbon footprint and negating some of the stress of driving while you’re really just trying to relax.

    Plan Your Route and Stops

If you do decide that driving yourself is your best choice, then make sure you’re prepared. By planning your route and regular stops, you can avoid excessive wear and tear on your car, save time, and make the trip more enjoyable.

Your own safety is also an important factor here – driving for too long is incredibly tiring, and it will be important for you to stop every few hours to stretch your legs and shake off the fatigue. Use your GPS app to plan your route, and look for fun places to stop along the way to let your car’s engine cool off while you grab a snack.

    Pack an Emergency Kit

Even in a well-maintained car, unexpected accidents can happen on the road. Having an emergency kit on hand can make a whole array of potential mishaps a little easier to cope with.

Make sure you pack your luggage carefully, and pack items like a flashlight, jumper cables, a tyre inflator, basic tools, first aid supplies, and an extra phone charger somewhere in your car. You can also throw in a blanket and some snacks just in case you get stuck somewhere – think of items like energy bars and jerky or other snacks that won’t go bad.

Protect Your Car from the Elements

Finally, remember that if you’re driving long distance, there’s a strong chance your car can get damaged from prolonged exposure to the elements – like the hot sun beating down on it.

This can damage your seat covers and cause paint damage, so think about investing in car sun shades or covers to put over your seats.

  • Vanlife: Should You Convert A Van Or Buy A Camper?

    vanlife-should-you-convert-a-van-or-buy-a-camper

The van life movement is picking up steam for the freedom, simplicity, and the thrill of adventure that it provides. Many people dream of hitting the road and living life on their own terms, surrounded by nature and the endless possibilities that come with it.

One of the first big decisions they face is whether to put in the work and convert a van into a cozy living space themselves, or to buy a camper that’s already set up and ready to go. This choice can be tough, as both options have their own set of benefits and challenges. In this article, we will give you a guide to help you decide.

    Customization and comfort

One of the best reasons to choose a conversion over buying a camper is that you can customize it to your exact specifications. You can set up the ideal bed position, an ergonomic kitchen, and place the van awning exactly where you want it. Your imagination and skills are the only limits to how personalized your van can become.

On the other hand, buying a pre-made camper offers the convenience of immediate use. There’s no waiting around since you can start your adventure as soon as you get the keys. These campers come with a set layout and features designed to meet most peoples’ needs for life on the road. However, the trade-off is that you might not get everything exactly the way you’d like it.

While there’s a range of models with various amenities, you might find the customization options limited compared to doing your own van conversion. Yet, for many, the ease of jumping straight into the van life without the time and effort of a conversion is a huge plus.

    Time and effort

Converting a van demands a significant amount of time, not only in the physical act of conversion but also in the planning and problem-solving stages. If you decide to take on this project, it involves learning a variety of new skills, from carpentry and electrical work to plumbing.

The time commitment can vary widely, often stretching over months or even longer, depending on the complexity of the design and the amount of free time available for the project.

Buying a camper allows you to skip all of the time required to do a conversion and hit the road as soon as your travel plans are complete.

    What does it cost?

When it comes to choosing between converting a van and buying a pre-made camper, cost is a major factor. The initial investment for a van conversion includes the price of the van itself plus all the materials needed for the conversion. Depending on the van’s condition, you could end up spending more than the cost of a new camper.

On the other hand, a pre-made camper comes with a higher upfront cost. These vehicles are ready to go and equipped with everything you need for van life, which is reflected in the price.

  • Radford joins 101st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

Radford Type 62-2 Pikes Peak Edition - Front

Next month, Radford’s Pikes Peak Edition Type 62-2, a unique car, will debut at The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, presented by Gran Turismo, during its 101st running on Sunday, June 25th, 2023. The car will be driven by accomplished Rally and Race Car Driver, Tanner Foust, who won his class at the 2021 event. The Pikes Peak Type 62-2 is a truly global project, with Radford working with key partners and suppliers across several countries. The car’s design was completed in France, and its drivetrain was developed and built in Austria. Meanwhile, the all-new carbon monocoque was created using 3D printing in the UK, with final assembly and project management taking place at Radford’s new HQ in California.

    The Design

Alan Derosier of Legend Automobiles designed the Pikes Peak Edition Type 62-2 based on a roadcar, ensuring it was fit for the specific demands of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The car needed a large rear wing and an advanced cooling system to account for the increased power output and decreased air density at high altitude. CAD designer Sam Ofsowitz brought the design to life, with Stratasys providing the prototype body work and tooling. Over 70 additional parts were 3D printed remotely at Stratasys HQ, with composite materials supplied by Aria. The car features the iconic JPS livery and a driver-focused central seating position with an FIA-approved, lightweight racing seat designed by Tillett. It has been built to handle the brutal conditions of the mountain race.

  • Hyundai and Giorgetto Giugiaro to Rebuild 1974 Pony Coupe Concept

1974 Pony Coupe Concept - Front Angle

Hyundai Motor Company will collaborate with the Italian design firm GFG Style to recreate the 1974 Pony Coupe Concept. The concept was originally created by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Hyundai’s debut at the 1974 Turin Motor Show. The rebuild project will involve both Giorgetto and his son Fabrizio Giugiaro. The new concept will be unveiled in the springtime. Hyundai announced the project during a Design Talk in Seoul, which featured Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, as well as Luc Donckerwolke, the Chief Creative Officer of Hyundai Motor Group, and SangYup Lee, the Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Motor’s Global Design Center.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Giorgetto and Fabrizio to Seoul for this rare occasion and we look forward to collaborating with them and GFG Style on this extraordinary design project,” said CCO Donckerwolke. “Not only does this project hold historical value, but it also represents a cross-cultural exchange that could pave the way for more collaborations down the road.”

“The original Pony and Pony Coupe Concept were one of those rare creations that influenced the designs of not just one but multiple production and concept vehicles, including our award-winning IONIQ 5 and attention-grabbing N Vision 74,” said EVP SangYup Lee. “Since the original concept car no longer exists, we’ve commissioned Giorgetto Giugiaro to rebuild it based on our design philosophy, ‘Shaping the future with legacy.’”

In 1974, Hyundai Motor approached Giorgetto Giugiaro to design their first independent model and Korea’s first mass-produced car. Since there was no vehicle design capability in Korea at the time, Giugiaro was commissioned to design, make blueprints and build five prototypes, including a coupe. During the design process, Hyundai decided to showcase the Pony and Pony Coupe at the Turin Motor Show to introduce the brand to the global market.

The Pony Coupe featured a distinctive wedge-style nose, circular headlamps, and geometric lines. It was originally designed for North American and European markets but the project was halted in 1981 due to adverse global economic conditions, preventing mass production.

Although the concept was never fully realized, its pioneering spirit helped to jumpstart the Korean automotive industry by influencing Hyundai’s first independent production models under the Pony nameplate. These models were manufactured from 1975 to 1990 and sold globally. The Pony Coupe Concept is still an important part of Hyundai’s legacy and a testament to the vision of its Founding Chairman, Ju-Yong Chung.

Chung, the founder of Hyundai, played a crucial role in paving the way for Korea’s automotive industry with the Pony Coupe Concept and subsequent Pony lineup. His positive mindset, bold leadership, firm belief, and tireless diligence helped Korea transition from the hardship of war to become an economic powerhouse by the late 20th century.

The Pony Coupe Concept was a significant source of inspiration for Giugiaro’s work on the DeLorean DMC 12, which became famous for its appearance in the ‘Back to the Future’ movies in the 1980s and 1990s.

The impact of the Pony and Pony Coupe Concept can still be seen today. In 2019, Hyundai Motor drew inspiration from the original Pony for the ’45’ concept car, which later influenced the IONIQ 5 that debuted two years later. Additionally, in 2021, Hyundai created a restomod electric vehicle concept that reimagined the original Pony production car. In 2022, Hyundai paid homage to the coupe concept again with its N Vision 74 hydrogen-hybrid ‘rolling lab’ development vehicle, which was well-received by the public.

Giugiaro, the original designer of the Pony Coupe Concept, expressed his pride in being tasked with creating a vehicle for Hyundai when he was a young designer just starting his career. He felt honored to be given the opportunity to design a car for a company and country that was about to enter a fiercely competitive global market. Now, he is deeply honored that Hyundai has asked him to rebuild the Pony Coupe Concept for posterity and to celebrate the brand’s heritage.

  • 6:35.183 min: Mercedes-AMG ONE is Number 1 on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife

    Mercedes-AMG ONE - Front

Mercedes-AMG ONE has once again made history by setting a new record for road-legal production vehicles on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The hypercar with Formula-1™ technology, officially measured and notarised, completed the 20.832-kilometer track in 6:35.183 minutes. The record-breaking run happened on October 28, 2022, when racing driver and AMG brand ambassador Maro Engel took to the track for the last attempt of the day and burned the new, fabulous time into the legendary and demanding Eifel asphalt.

    New Record and Thrilling Drive

Maro Engel’s last lap was a truly unforgettable experience. Even though he had already set a new best time, Engel wasn’t yet satisfied. Towards the end of his track slot, the conditions were getting better by the minute, and he took advantage of the very last opportunity to improve the lap time to the new official record of 6:35.183 minutes. According to Engel, the track conditions were tricky as the track hadn’t dried completely yet, especially in some crucial areas. Engel had to find the optimal deployment strategy for the hybrid drive, just like Lewis Hamilton and George Russell on their race weekends. The lap time of 6:30.705 minutes was based on the track variant known from the sport auto Super Test.

    The AMG Team’s Success

Philipp Schiemer, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, was proud of the whole AMG team that was involved in this project. The various departments in Affalterbach as well as their colleagues at HPP in Brixworth never gave up and continued to push the dream of this vehicle. Even though the AMG ONE is more at home on a Grand Prix circuit than on the Nordschleife, the team went one step further and took on the challenges of the Nürburgring with a super sports car. This success is the well-deserved reward for their hard work.

    Challenging Conditions

The weather on the day of the record-breaking run was sunny with a light wind, but the track was still damp and partly dirty in some areas, typical of the Nürburgring in autumn. In some sections, the ideal line had not yet completely dried, especially in the fast “Kesselchen” section. These were not ideal conditions, especially for a vehicle in this extreme performance class. By the time the track was passable for a first fast lap, the remaining time had whittled down to less than an hour, which only allowed for a maximum of four fast laps.

    Series-Production Condition

Technically, the record-breaking vehicle was in series-production condition and had everything that the Mercedes-AMG ONE offers as standard. The hypercar brings Formula 1™ hybrid-drive technology from the racetrack to the road for the first time. With one combustion engine and four electric motors, the E PERFORMANCE hybrid delivers a total of 782 kW (1,063 hp), with the top speed capped at 352 km/h. The other motorsport technology ranges from the carbon monocoque and carbon body to the engine/transmission unit as a stressed member and active aerodynamics to the push-rod chassis. With its complex technology, the two-seater Mercedes-AMG ONE offers even more than a Formula 1™ racing car in some cases.

    Conclusion

The Mercedes-AMG ONE has once again set the bar high for hypercars with its new Nürburgring-Nordschleife record. The AMG team’s hard work and dedication have paid off with a well-deserved

  • Nissan reveals thrilling A-to-Z lineup of on- and off-road concepts for 2022 SEMA Show

Nissan will reveal six exciting new concept vehicles – plus the public debut of the all-new Z GT4 racing car – at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nov. 1-4. Nissan’s diverse SEMA lineup includes electric, street/track performance and off-road-focused vehicles that will inspire owners to customize their own vehicles for next-level excitement.

Nissan’s Thrill Street exhibit in the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall, booth #52141, will showcase the seven different vehicles, and two “parts walls” featuring off-road and street-focused NISMO accessory parts for owners to personalize their own vehicles. Keep reading for more on each of the SEMA show debuts.

    Getting creative with EVs

As Nissan continues to pursue accessible electric mobility for all, the company, in partnership with Tommy Pike Customs of Greenville, S.C., is bringing two EV concepts to SEMA, providing inspiration as to how car enthusiasm can thrive in a future of electric vehicles.

    Nissan Sunny LEAF project

    Sunny LEAF Truck

Two different eras of Nissan vehicles collide at the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show with the reveal of a 1987 Sunny Truck that has been converted to LEAF all-electric power by South Carolina-based Tommy Pike Customs (TPC).

The 1987 Nissan Sunny, owned by TPC owner Tommy Pike, features the electric drive motor and 40-kWh lithium-ion battery pack from a Nissan LEAF. Rated at 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, the LEAF motor has around twice the power and more than three times the torque of the gasoline four-cylinder engine originally equipped in the Sunny.

“I bought the Sunny Truck because I thought it was such a cool piece of Nissan history and heritage – especially when I saw it was a right-hand-drive model,” said Tommy Pike. “Taking the unexpected step of converting the Sunny to electric power while wrapping it with the Brock Racing Enterprises livery felt like the perfect way to pay homage to Nissan’s heritage and modern innovation.”

The complete list of modifications to the LEAF-powered Sunny includes:

    • Nissan LEAF electric motor conversion with factory-original 56A manual transmission
    • Custom CNC-machined motor-to-transmission bellhousing adapter
    • “Hakosuka” Skyline widebody kit
    • Aluminum battery box
    • Custom driveshaft
    • LED lighting conversion
    • Heavy-duty rear leaf springs and suspension
    • Nissan 240SX S13 front suspension conversion, including front coilovers, disc brakes and lower control arms
    • Tommy Pike / Peter Brock collaboration custom Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE) “46” livery
    • Custom user interface display designed by Clemson University ICAR
    • TPC custom-designed and handcrafted interior with Laedana material by Tesca
    • 17-inch Rotiform wheels
    • 205/45/17 Toyo Extensa tires

    Nissan Ariya Surfwagon concept

    Ariya Surfwagon Concept

Designed to stoke dreams and inspire EV owners to personalize their vehicles to fit their lifestyles, the Nissan Ariya Surfwagon concept reimagines the 2023 Ariya, the company’s first all-electric crossover, as a California-style surf “woodie” wagon.

Created by South Carolina-based Tommy Pike Customs on behalf of Nissan, the Ariya Surfwagon immediately draws the eye with a custom vinyl wrap featuring wood paneling and chrome trim evoking beach cruisers of decades past. The Surfwagon features “smoothie” 20-inch wheels with polished stainless-steel center caps, white-wall tires, a custom roof rack holding two 7-foot surfboards and a custom lowered suspension.

The Surfwagon is intended to provoke conversation and imagination about what vehicle customization looks like in a future of electric vehicles, as owners seek to modify their EVs to suit their hobbies and preferred activities. The Surfwagon retains all the utility and functionality of a standard 2023 Ariya, yet with a look and purpose that is decidedly unique.

    NISMO Off-Road Frontier V8 concept

    NISMO Off-Road Frontier V8 concept

The NISMO Off Road Frontier V8 concept takes the midsize truck to a new level of performance, ready for Baja-style desert running. In addition to stirring truck enthusiasts’ imagination about personalizing their own Frontier, the concept shows off a range of new NISMO Off Road accessory parts that will be available from Nissan dealerships soon, as well as some prototype NISMO Off Road parts that may be available in the future.

Built by Forsberg Racing, the Nissan Frontier concept1 features the 5.6-liter V8 engine sourced from a TITAN full-size pickup truck, equipped with a custom NISMO Off Road cold air intake and cat-back exhaust system. The truck also has a wide-track suspension created with lower control arms, front spindles, wheel hubs and rear axle from a TITAN. The suspension also features custom upper control arms and NISMO/Bilstein coilover shocks and custom rear leaf spring pack with NISMO/Bilstein external reservoir shocks for increased ride height and payload capacity.

To help accommodate the new, wider suspension, the Frontier concept received a custom wide body kit with carbon fiber front fenders, hood and bedsides, plus a prototype NISMO Off Road front bumper that improves the truck’s approach angle and tire clearance.

    Additional components include:

    • NISMO Off Road Axis 18 x 9 inch wheels with 295/70/18 mud-terrain tires
    • Prototype NISMO Off Road rock rails
    • NISMO Off Road roof rack
    • Prototype NISMO Off Road in-bed spare wheel-and-tire carriers
    • NISMO Off Road LED lighting
    • Warn winch

    Frontier Street Truck project

    Nissan Frontier Street Project

Nissan trucks have always inspired owners to personalize and customize their vehicles, and the latest Frontier midsize pickup is no exception. Content creator and automotive influencer Christina Roki created a lowered, street truck-style project1 for the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

Roki’s build is based on a 2022 Frontier King Cab S and takes the truck in a bold direction with a custom wide body kit from Performance Lab Detroit, along with a lowered suspension and other modifications, all recalling the look of the “mini truckin’” style of the past.

    NISMO Accessorized Z

    2022 NISMO Performance Parts Z

The Nissan Z has long inspired fans and owners to modify the legendary sports car to their own personal tastes, and for the 2022 SEMA Show, the NISMO team created a 2023 Nissan Z to showcase a new range of performance-oriented NISMO accessory parts, which will be available for purchase through Nissan dealerships starting in early 2023.

The Z’s parts list begins with a NISMO coilover suspension kit with a twin-tube design featuring a linear race spring system, rebound damping adjustability and ride height adjustment. The suspension was developed with input from racing driver Bryan Heitkotter, who was crowned champion in the 2011 Nissan GT Academy competition and subsequently began a successful career racing for Nissan, and now Chris Forsberg Racing.

Additional suspension components include a NISMO adjustable stabilizer bar kit, prototype NISMO strut tower bar and NISMO suspension components including rear midlinks, rear lower camber links, rear traction arms, endlinks, front upper arms and front outer tie rod ends.

For increased stopping power, the car features a NISMO big brake kit that includes track-ready brake pads, larger vented front and rear rotors, 6-piston front/4-piston rear calipers and stainless-steel brake lines. Rolling stock is provided by new NISMO LM-RS1 wheels, 19 x 9.5 inches front and 19 x 10.5 inches rear. These wheels are lightweight, forged, and available in black, anthracite and bronze semi-gloss finishes to complement any vehicle color, and have been tested to rigorous NISMO standards.  They are equipped with Bridgestone RE71RS tires, sized 255/40/19 front and 285/35/19 rear.

Enhancements to the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 includes a fully dyno-tested, CAD-designed NISMO cold air intake which uses a bell-mouth design to increase airflow. CARB approval is currently pending. For reduced charge air temperatures and to maintain performance on hot days and track events, a NISMO performance heat exchanger has been added – which features 148-percent greater volume than the factory piece.

A stainless steel NISMO track exhaust with a 2.25-inch outer pipe diameter reduces backpressure, while power is transmitted through a NISMO street twin-disc clutch and flywheel kit, designed to handle up to 800 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque while retaining a factory-like pedal feel and effort.

Visual enhancements on the car include NISMO carbon fiber exterior mirror covers, a NISMO fuel filler cover, NISMO kick plates, a NISMO GT titanium shift knob, a prototype NISMO carbon fiber steering wheel trim kit and, under the hood, a NISMO carbon fiber engine cover, NISMO coolant expansion tank a NISMO oil filler cap.

    2023 Formula Drift Z

    Forsberg Pro Drift Z

Three-time Formula Drift champion Chris Forsberg’s latest drift car, a 2023 Nissan Z modified to produce an incredible 1,300 horsepower, will appear at Nissan’s booth at the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

The Forsberg Racing team has an established connection with Nissan. The team used a 370Z for drift competition in the past, and worked with Nissan and NISMO to build its newest drift car this spring. The Forsberg Racing team equipped the Nissan Z with an extensively modified VR38DETT twin-turbocharged V6 engine – as found in the Nissan GT-R – re-tuned to make 1,300 horsepower and with exhausts exiting through the car’s hood. In addition, the team made significant chassis and bodywork modifications to prepare the car for Formula Drift, including adding required safety equipment.

The car made its competition debut at the Formula Drift Streets of Long Beach course in April, and Forsberg is currently 6th in the 2022 Formula Drift standings. Forsberg will be in attendance at the Nissan booth at SEMA to sign autographs and take selfies with fans.

Finally, Nissan’s SEMA booth will host the public debut of the Nissan Z GT4, a purpose-built racing car that will hit circuits in 2023 to continue to defend the Z’s long heritage of motorsports successes. The Nissan Z GT4 – and further information about Nissan’s 2023 racing season plans – will be revealed at a special event taking place at the Nissan booth during SEMA.
