  • Shades Of Grey Project: SR Auto Porsche Cayenne

SR-Auto-Porsche-Cayenne-Shades-Of-Grey-Project-THUMBA true instance of luxury and class is the emblematic Porsche Cayenne, isn’t it? This Porsche has the ability to generate 300 horsepower (221 kW) thanks to its 3.6 L V6 engine. A manual gearbox serves as the standard transmission system here featuring an eight-speed Tiptronic gearshift.

Nevertheless, this lucky unit got even prettier. Sporting a set of ADV 08 wheels, this SR Auto Porsche Cayenne includes a modern and timeless look. The mesh design has been around for so many years, and will continue to be one of the most timeless designs.

These special wheels were finished with a high gloss gunmetal tint, offsetting the metallic grey exterior. The astonishing look of this example is due to the shades of grey, which in addition contribute for the sleek profile we witness.

  • Porsche 911 Turbo Proto 1000 vs Nissan GT-R vs Porsche 9ff vs Porsche 911 PP-Performance [HD video]

Here is a nice video of an epic battle between several highly tuned vehicles – Porsche 911 Turbo Proto 1000 with 1100HP, Nissan GT-R Mk.1 Stage 2 with 560HP, Porsche 911 PP-Performance Stage 1 with 650HP and Porsche 911 Turbo 9ff with 900HP.

In the first start, the mighty Protomotive VRT1000 Porsche meets a lot underpowered Nissan GT-R Mk.1. The Porsche crosses the finish line at 1 mile with 256.04 km/h and 27.567 seconds time, while the GT-R finished in 31.757 seconds (without reaction times).

The second start is between 911 PP-Performance and 911 Turbo 9ff. Again, one of the cars has a lot more horsepower, but there is an intrigue between the two of them. The 9ff finishes in 27.735 seconds with 305.86 km/h, but this is not enough to win. The 911 PP-Performance stops the clock at 27.544 seconds with 292.20 km/h.

The third start is between the two winners – the Protomotive VRT1000 vs 911 PP-Performance. Although the 911 PP-Performance has stopped the clock at 27.804 seconds with 290.55 km/h, it wasn’t enough to beat the staggering Protomotive VRT1000, which finished in just 26.452 seconds.

  • Lumma Go Through The Porsche Cayenne Range

    Lumma-Porsche-Cayenne-S-Hybrid-thumbLumma-Porsche-Cayenne-S-Hybrid-medium-1

That is an orange Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid. You also need to know that the German aftermarket wizards at Lumma Design are behind it. So much for the sensibility and practicality of your average hybrid.

It’s unclear how they have done it, but the combined power here amounts to 450. That’s a 70 hp increase over the stock model. The three-tube exhaust system might have some to do with the whole boost scheme. Or maybe it is just for show, complementing the exposed carbon fiber bits and pieces on the largely orange body. The 9.5×20-inch Lumma Racing 3 wheels are orange as well and so is the CLR 1 carbon fiber hood which has helped to trim down the fat. There might just be some sensibility left here.

Luxury however gains the higher grounds inside – leather and Alcantra in an equally flamboyant orange trim. Aluminum pedals and Lumma Design embroidered carpet mats complete the look.

    Lumma Porsche Cayenne Diesel
    Lumma Porsche Cayenne Diesel

But the exclusivity does not stop there. There’s the Porsche Cayenne Diesel which is an even bigger contradiction – 280 hp of power, four tailpipes 90 mm each and a set of 22-inch CLR alloy wheels. The CLR 2 hood is all exposed carbon fiber and so are some bits and pieces from the inside. And don’t get us started on the mad brick-red shade that dominates the exterior and the seats, and the seat belts, and the instruments. Friends and family alike will openly express their bafflement as soon as they hear the clutter of a diesel engine inside – “I thought diesel is for grayish people!”

    Lumma Porsche Cayenne Turbo
    Lumma Porsche Cayenne Turbo

There’s one Lumma Porsche Cayenne however, that sounds entirely purposeful. It’s the Turbo. Black and loaded with 6 pieces of exhaust tips, this Lumma lovechild boasts 600 hp. Black 22-inch wheels plus a full body kit adorn the base of the SUV. All the while, the same CLR 2 hood seen on the diesel, is present here just to round things up.

Inside, the Turbo gets a beige trim that’s based on leather. Complementing the luxury feel are the silver accents here and there and the aluminum pedals.

  • Porsche 918 Spyder at Nurburgring in a Martini Suit

Martini-Porsche-918-thumbMartini Porsche 918 SpyderThe Porsche 918 Spyder has been spotted circling the Nurburgring as a part of development testing. It also has a new suit on which makes us all excited and tingly.

It does so mainly because it’s not that new. Martini was the official partner of the Porsche factory team between 1973 and 1978. It was then when the iconic “Martini Porsche” design came to be. The white, blue and red stripes saw many victories and today the legacy continues in tune with the future.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a plug-in hybrid super sports car that uses two electric motors and a 570 hp V8 engine that can work in unison thus producing a combined power output of around 770 hp. That amount of power is good for a top speed of 325 km/h and an acceleration of less than 3 seconds until the 100 km mark. Astonishing feats when you think about the fuel consumption which is no more than 3.0-liters per 100 km.

Still, the focus is on the sports performance. The goal of the Nurburgring testings is to do a lap time of less than 7 minutes 22 seconds. Considering all the carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) that make up the body and the ceramic brakes, that time is quite feasible.

  • Porsche 997 Carrera S with Emotion Wheels Concave

Porsche-THUMBThis Porsche 997 Carrera S is equipped with new Emotion Wheels Concave. Looks fantastic, doesn’t it? The philosophy behind these alloy wheel rims is pure geometry. In addition, the wheel bears the highly promising name “Concave“ and has a characteristic inward bulging rim-star. Yet this is not the only characteristic of the Emotion Wheels Concave.

In particular the Porsche is equipped with Emotion Wheels Concave in the black matt finishing with the upgraded carbon-wrap finishing of the rim wells. The rims measuring 8.5×19 / 11×19 inches bear the original tires of the dimensions 235/35ZR19 and 295/30ZR19.

Another highlight here is that the rims are factory-fitted with fully winterproof light alloy wheel and a replaceable high-grade steel rim-well. This leaves little possibility for scrapes and damages which can happen even to the most experienced of all drivers.

  • Hamann Porsche Panamera Cyrano

Hamann-Porsche-Panamera-Cyrano-THUMBThe latest project of the German based tuning company HAMANN-Motorsport is named Hamann Porsche Panamera Cyrano. As we all know the Porsche is coming from the factory with great amount of power and shows significant performance.

However, even more power has been given to this Gran Turismo which is 603 hp/ 443 kW.

The torque has been increased as well and is now up to 870 Nm at 2,250 – 4,500 rpm. Given these numbers, it is no surprise that the ttuned vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

Furthermore, the Panamera can be also equipped with the Sport Chrono Package. With it, the vehicle accelerates even faster. Here we are speaking about 3.7 seconds for the acceleration sprint from 0 to 100 km/h.

With the increase of the aforementioned data, the top speed increases as well to the impressive 315 km/h and thus it conclusively thumbs its proverbial nose at the series models (Turbo 303 km/h, Turbo S 306 km/h).

In the process of transformation, the HAMANN designers and engineers revamped the front completely. Here now can be seen larger air intakes in connection with perfectly integrated daytime running lights. They give the Porsche more dynamic stance.

    Hamann Porsche Panamera Cyrano
    Hamann Porsche Panamera Cyrano

The bonnet has been redesigned as well, so now the airflow is optimized. Furthermore, there has been added 60 mm width to the front and rear fenders. The aim of this is to make the GranTurismo look even more imposing.

In order to reduce the up-lift forces at the rear axle, there has been developed a special diffuser rear apron, which encases the striking dual tailpipes of the sports exhaust system.

To enhance even further the powerful and sporty stance of the Cyrano, the German engineers have added new unique forged “Gunmetal” 22-inch rims. The rear is fitted with 11.0Jx22 inch rims and 305/25 ZR 22 tyres.

It is good also to mention that the handling of the car is significantly improved as well. In addition, what grab the eye are the new alu wheels with special suspensions or a lowering module for the air suspension. They lower the Panamera’s center of gravity up to 30 mm.

How about the interior? Although we were not given an image, the tuners say that it has been entirely redesigned as well. The interior is now wrapped with the finest leathers. The HAMANN aluminium pedal system shines in the footwell and complements perfectly the medical applications of the car’s serial production interior.

  • Finding a Used Car the Proper Way

So you have a bit of money saved up and now the time has come to get yourself a car. You are in for a ride of your life even before you get in your car. Few things are more stressful looking for a car. Luckily though, there are places in the internet where your browsing pains can be relieved.

Head over there and start looking for your future car. Used car deals have a lot more benefits behind them than one might think. Why go for a brand new Kia Cee’d which is a great car overall, but a bit cold on the inside (figuratively speaking). For the same amount of you can get one of those BMW E60s you have always dreamed of. A quick search through exchangeandmart.co.uk’s engine and we found a perfect specimen from 2008 in an absolutely decent nick (50,000 miles in the clock). The price – £16,500.

How about a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 S Convertible – 10 years of age, 63,000 miles of passionate driving and roughly the same price. You are of the classic types? No problem – a 1991 Porsche Carrera 2 – 100, 000 miles of history, no difference in the price.

These are just shots in the dark really. Dive into the world of second hand cars, and you’ll find your own gem. Here are some tips from us when snooping around

Always look for the service history – keeping everything in check is essential for the car’s longevity

Check to see if the engine has been thoroughly cleaned – if so, pass to the next one. A thorough cleaning is usually an attempt to cover up an oily leak.

Check the upholstery, steering wheel, pedals and gear lever for waring – a car that has suspiciously few miles on the clock, might be clocked.

Make sure to view the car on a well light day, no rain, no fog – this may sound a bit daft, but noticing rust, bumps, cracks and scratches can be done most effectively during a bright day.
