Have You Heard About 2016 Toyota Tacoma? It’s the Best Tacoma Ever!

2016 Toyota Tacoma Front View 2016 Toyota Tacoma has surprised us with additions for the new model year, which are more than satisfactory. The car has been literally rebuilt, both in terms of interior and exterior. In addition, it also features new engine and enhanced suspension tuning. Regarded as the toughest and most durable pickup in the segment, the new generation Tacoma continues the legacy of the famous Toyota trucks. In fact, the company even says that this it’s the best Tacoma ever, inside and out.

Tough and Rough

Tough and rough are two synonym words for the new generation Tacoma. The reason for this is that the frame has been reinforced with high strength steel and this has resulted in enhancing its rigidity. The same material was also integrated into the body shell. What is more, the suspension was fine-tuned to make sure that the ride is smoother on the road, while off-road it still offers more capability.

Two Drivetrains

2016 Toyota Tacoma V6 Engine

2016 Tacoma will be made available with two engines. The first one is the 2.7-liter DOHC four-cylinder with VVT-I, which produces 159 horsepower (117 kW) and 244 Nm (180 lb.-ft.) of torque at 4000 rpm. Its EPA fuel economy has been estimated 19/23/21 mpg city/highway/combined mpg for the 4×2 with an automatic transmission. The estimated fuel efficiency for the 4×4 with the manual and automatic transmission is 19/21/20 mpg and 19/22/20 mpg, respectively.

Tacoma can be also equipped with V6 powerplant. The unit is 3.5-liter Atkinson cycle with Variable Valve Timing with Intelligent Wider Intake equipped with Toyota’s D-4S technology. The latter features both direct and port fuel injection. The V6 generates 278 horsepower (204 kW) and 359 Nm (265 lb.-ft.) of torque at 4600 rpm. This is an increase of 42 horses over the previous V6. This engine achieves 19/24/21 mpg in the city/highway/combined cycles for the 4×2 automatic. The estimated mpg for the 4×4 manual is 17/21/19, while for the automatic is 18/23/20.

There is also a new six-speed automatic transmission with electronic shift delivering quick and easy shifting. Two other options are available for the V6 – the six-speed manual transmission and the four-cylinder – the five-speed manual.

The next great news is that if one equips the truck with the V6 Tow Package, the new Tacoma can tow up to 6,800 lbs. This is an impressive increase of 300 lbs. over the previous V6.

Style is Found on the Outside…

Hexagonal grille, positioned a little bit upper, more muscular hood and four new wheel designs ranging from 16 to 18 inches are just a few of the changes in the design of the 2016 Tacoma. There are also noticeable high-tech headlights with projection beam lamps and available LED DRLs.

At the rear, there is a new locking tailgate with integrated spoiler for improved aerodynamics and a stamped Tacoma logo. The tailgate also includes lowering feature for a slow retraction. Toyota has even created for the first time ever an available factory-installed tri-fold hard tonneau cover.

The interior of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma is athletic and rough. The instrument panel features a sporty design theme for a more driver-focused experience. Soft-wrapped trim and metallic accents are the starting point for an array of available premium features like the Qi wireless charging, smart key with push-button start and leather-trimmed seats.

The new truck is also quieter than before. The reason for this is that all seals were improved and a multi-layer acoustic windshield and sound-absorbing headliner were added. At last, there is a floor silencer pad which also minimizes road noise.

Plenty of Configurations and Grades

The vehicle will be offered with 29 different configurations in two cab types: extended Access Cab and four-door Double Cab, each of which will be available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. The five model grades include the following: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road and top of the line Limited.

Furthermore, Tacoma offers plenty of choices when it comes to individualizing a truck. As a matter of fact, Toyota has offered nine core packages: SR Utility Package, SR Convenience Package, four levels of the SR5 Appearance Package, and three levels of Premium & Technology Packages.

Pricing is not Surprising

The price tag for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma 4×2 begins at $23,300 USD, while for the 4×4 starts at $24,825 USD. Prices range up to $37,820 USD.

Toyota Announces Substantial Changes for 2016 Land Cruiser Facelift [VIDEO]

2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Facelift is now here offering substantial updates. It gains more in terms of interior and exterior styling, updates regarding the engines and performance as well as safety improvements. For example, the appearance of the popular vehicle is now more modern and athletic, while the interior benefits from soft-touch surfaces, revised instrument cluster and controls. But let’s see exactly what has happened to this icon.

Exterior

Beginning with the exterior, the designers have obviously kept the emblematic visual appearance. Some of the substantial changes include the grille, headlamps, bumper, fenders and bonnet. Precisely, the grille now features hexagonal frame and triple horizontal bars, resulting in more aggressive stance.

This is further emphasized by the subtle scooping in the centre of the bonnet and the convex shapes that extend to the front. Headlamps and front corners set back from the grille, round out the front end design.

At the sides we see protection moldings and door handles with slightly different appearance. At the rear the revisions include new bumper, upper tailgate panel as well as combination lamps, reflectors and mudguards.

Moreover, adding to the palette of exterior colors are two new shades: Copper Brown and Onyx Blue. They will be offered as an option on all grades except GX.

Interior

The cabin of the Land Cruiser adopts soft padding for areas that directly contact occupants’ limbs and support their bodies. There are also changes to the switches and displays for the audio, air-conditioning and driver-related functions, which aim to achieve more convenient utilization.

For example, the centre cluster has received a storage area and a 12V outlet. Only the Sahara trim gets a wireless charger. Another change is found in both VX and Sahara grades, which adopt Optitron instrument cluster with 4.2-inch thin-film transistor colour Multi Information Display. These trim levels also gain Electro Multi Vision and Navigation unit with nine-inch display screen.

The interior colors are different for each grade. The GX is trimmed with grey fabric, while the GXL gets grey or beige fabric. The customers, who will choose the VX and Sahara trims, will have the option of selecting black or beige for their leather-accented interiors. And note that the GX is a 5-seater, while the diesel VX and Sahara are 7-seaters. All other grades have 8 seats.

Drivetrains

Two powerful V8 engines define the range of available drivetrains of the Land Cruiser. They are now better due to a substantial revision, resulting in more power and optimized efficiency. Both the twin-turbo diesel and its petrol alternative show better fuel consumption and tighter Euro 5 emissions.

To go into details, the 4.5-litre twin-turbo diesel unit benefits from new injectors, revised mapping and a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The latter has been fitted with a guard to protect it over rough roads.

In addition, the changes to this drivetrain include also increased power output up to 272 hp (200 kW) and the same torque of 650 Nm (480 lb-ft). Improvement of 8 percent is seen in the fuel economy and emissions, showing 9.5 litres per 100km.

The 4.6-litre petrol V8 engine gets updates to its air-injection system in order to achieve reduced emissions. The variable valve timing on the inlet and exhaust ports helps this engine maintain 309 hp (227 kW) and 439 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. Fuel economy and emissions have been also improved but Toyota didn’t release any specific numbers.

Safety Features

Regarding the safety, the top of the LandCruiser 200 range, the Sahara trim, receives a package of advanced features. An instance is the ability to prevent or reduce the severity of a collision. Called Pre-Collision Safety, this system warns the driver of a possible collision and automatically applies the brakes.

On the other hand, Lane Departure Alert helps in avoiding collisions by warning the driver in case the vehicle is about to move unintentionally across lanes without using the turn signals.

Sahara also gets radar, sensors and front camera which are utilized to detect other road users and lane markings. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Automatic High Beam are the other two features new to the Land Cruiser 200 range.

LandCruiser Line-up

Featured in Land Cruiser’s line-up there are a total of four grades. GX remains the diesel-only model, while the GXL, VX and Sahara can be specified with petrol or diesel engines. Both units are fitted with six-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Fortuner is the New SUV in Company’s Line-up

2015 Toyota Fortuner Front View 2015 Toyota Fortuner is the new offer by the Japanese brand for a seven-seat family SUV. It is actually the sixth SUV added to company’s line-up, which consists of RAV4, Kluger, FJ Cruiser, LandCruiser Prado and LandCruiser 200 Series. Toyota representatives say that the Fortuner is not only stylish, but also remarkably strong and features the option of a 4-wheel drive.

The new family SUV has three distinctive grades: GX, GXL and Crusade. They are all powered by 2.8-litre direct-injection four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine.

Engine

Toyota’s 2.8-litre diesel unit is absolutely new and is characterized by its efficiency, capability and performance. It uses highly efficient fuel-injection system and intake/exhaust ports. In addition, the engine is notable for its high torque at low revs. Precisely, it has a maximum torque of 450Nm (332 lb-ft) available from 1600 to 2400rpm. Regarding the horsepower, the powertrain generates 177 hp (130kW).

Furthermore, the unit is mated as a standard with a six-speed automatic transmission, but there is also the option of a six-speed manual. However, the manual’s peak torque is a little bit lower – 420Nm (310 lb-ft). GXL and Crusade grades get ‘intelligent’ technology for their six-speed manual gearbox. It helps in achieving smoother shifting by matching engine speed to transmission speed.

When it comes to fuel consumption, the Fortuner shows number below 8 litres per 100km.

What is Part-Time 4×4?

Part-time 4×4 can be used during day-to-day driving. Thanks to this feature the driver can dial to access Fortuner’s impressive four-wheel-drive ability in high or low range.

Furthermore, the Fortuner is equipped with a special suspension package. It was created to match the harsh road conditions of any terrain. In details, it includes double wishbones at the front and a five-link coil-spring configuration at the rear. In addition, the front and rear stabilizer bars keep under control the body roll.

Goodies in Each Trim Level

How about the equipment in each trim level? There are features included in all grades, like the standard reversing camera, seven airbags, hill-start assist control and an emergency stop signal. This also means that the SUV will be extremely reliable when it comes to occupant’s safety.

All grades will be also equipped with front and rear air-conditioning, large touchscreen audio displays, Toyota Link connected mobility, side steps, 17- or 18-inch wheels, disc brakes at all four corners and an air-conditioned compartment.

Only GXL and Crusade will get standard roof rails, fog lamps, reverse parking sensors, keyless smart entry and start, and downhill assist control. While the top-of-the-range Crusade adds bi-LED headlamps and DRLs, power back door and 18-inch alloys.

The special specification car can be ordered for a very limited time: from 13^th of July till the end of September. Then, the productions is scheduled to start on 2^nd of November.

Exterior Mimics the Sun

The exterior of the Toyota 86 GT Yellow Limited has been made so exuberant due to the application of the special Sunrise Yellow exterior color. It has been contrasted with black mirrors and black 17-inch alloys.

The interior was also decided in those two contrasting colors. However, the black here is the main one, used for the Alcantara upholstery, while the Ashirai yellow was utilized for the stitching.

Aero Pack

But if this does not appear enough for you, then you should know that there is also a special aero pack for this special Toyota 86 GT. It adds custom spoilers for the front and rear bumpers (the rear one is also larger), new side mudguards and a massive rear wing.

Land Cruiser Will Come With New Engine And Additional Gadgets

Toyota Land Cruiser will get some more upgrades and goodies this summer. And one of the most important change is the engine. Yes, the Land Cruiser now comes with fresh and redesigned powerplants and confidently will defend its position as one of the best vehicles on the market today. The 2.8 D-4D engine

2015 i-Road Has Finally Reached Texas!

North Texas residents met the i-Road, the three-wheeled electric vehicle and COMS, the compact electric vehicle last weekend at American Airlines in Dallas. All the people, who participated in the event spent some time answering questions and reviewing different technological trends and told the audience about the ultra-compact vehicles and the ways they will make our lives easier.

Furthermore, there are numerous focus groups in Silicon Valley, California in February 2015, that received some positive feedback from numerous participants. In fact, there was also a guy, who presented a credit card and immediately purchased an i-Road vehicle. But the bad news is that he must wait a bit longer to receive it.

In fact, the i-Road demonstration projects have already begun in France and Japan and the teams are working hard to test the vehicles in different city situations. For example, in Grenoble, France and Toyota City, Japan the demonstration units are positioned in car sharing applications, while the i-Roads in Tokyo, Japan come with an option to be loaned to individual customers. They will start taking orders next month. On the other hand, COMS vehicles have already begun sales in Japan.

There are no some specific plans and formulas for the US audience. All we know is, that the i-Road demonstration programs will be launhed in the near future. So, stay in tune and don’t forget to try out the vehicles of the future!

Toyota Prado Gets High-Torque Diesel Engine

Toyota LandCruiser Prado is now more powerful than ever due to the addition of the 2.8-litre Global Diesel (GD) four-cylinder engine. The unit was specifically developed from the ground up to contribute towards the massive gains to the performance of the vehicle. In addition, the engine is also quieter and more efficient, reliable and robust in its operation.

Power & Torque

The 2.8-litre GD produces up to 177 hp (130kW) at 3400rpm in comparison to the 173 hp (127kW) from the current 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. This is a significant gain of 2.4%, given that the capacity of around 200cc is smaller.

LandCruiser’s new engine delivers also more torque of up to 450Nm (332 lb-ft). This does not make sacrifice in terms of fuel efficiency. Mated to the six-speed automatic transmission, this gain of 40Nm or more than 9.7 % in comparison to the engine previously used. The peak torque for the five-speed self-shifter or the six-speed manual gearbox stands at 420Nm (310 lb-ft). Despite the transmission, those torques are available from low engine speeds through to 2400rpm.

Fuel Economy & CO2 Emissions

How about the fuel efficiency of the new GD unit? The official combined cycle have been made better with more than 10%, when the car is equipped with the manual gearbox. They have been rated at just 7.9 litres per 100km.

When it comes to the consumption of the vehicle equipped with the automatic transmission, it shows an improvement of 5.9%. During urban driving, improvements range from 10.6% for the auto to more than 13% for the manual while the highway figures are as low as 7 litres per 100km.

2.8-litre Global Diesel (GD) Engine

The 2.8-litre Global Diesel engine has a displacement of 2755cm3. Its common-rail fuel-injection system is electronically controlled and fitted with piezo injectors supporting higher outputs and improved fuel efficiency.

The unit stands under the designation 1GD-FTV and it also shows extreme levels of combustion efficiency due to the adoption of a water-cooled exhaust gas recirculation system, a swirl control valve on the intake manifold and a new piston shape. Low consumption of energy is ensured via weight reduction. This also contributes towards the better fuel economy.

Also helping for this is the low engine friction, because of the adoption of a low-friction timing chain instead of a timing belt. The other benefit here is the minimized mechanical noise during idling. Furthermore, the exhaust manifold has been designed to optimize the retention capacity of the catalytic converter. This prevents the noise that is so characteristic for turbo engines.

All the aforementioned measures and more that we haven’t talked about have resulted in lower emissions and compliance with Euro 5 emissions standards. These changes mean not only a more powerful performance but also enhanced driving pleasure for the Prado owners.

The interior of the latest Prius is greatly redesigned and refreshed and now comes with fluorescent display centre console, multimedia-information display, new steering wheel and seat trims. Some of the visual upgrades include chrome-plated doors, dark silver finish and the slim-line vents of the center console come with chrome finish for even more sophisticated appearance.

And there is also a special “eco-judge” system, that helps the driver to achieve the optimal performance-economics ratio. How cool is that?

Toyota Will Celebrate Numerous Successful Events at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Toyota comes up with a promising and exceptional lineup of race cars, rally cars and road cars, that will be presented on this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The reason? The well-known bran will celebrate its incredible success on the road for numerous years.

Now, Toyota will return to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with the car drivers, who made history on the track. Toyota Gazoo Racing and the World Champion driver Anthony Davidson and the British squad member Mike Conway will share some driving duties with the special TS040 Hybrid, still fresh from Le Mans 24 Hour race.

Furthermore, Goodwood event will witness some speed runs by the Camry race cars from NASCAR series, that will be representing Red Bull Racing, that are indeed Michael Waltrip Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsport teams. In fact, Mike Skinner will also demonstrate his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Tacoma and his ultra-rapid Pikes Peak Celica. Nice, huh?

For the past three decades Toyota team has achieved numerous victories and success in many fields and now, just for the festival, the brand will include runs with Celica TE27, RA40, ST205, ST185 and the incredible TA64 Group B car, plus the WRC Corolla and John Midgley’s AE86.

Furthermore, Toyota’s GT86 will be the main eye-catcher in the show, when the curtains raise on 25 June. There will be a fleet of six coupes, that will be available for customer driving, that will include the Shelby 2000GT, Castrol Celica GT-Four and IMSA GTU Celia.

As you might know, last year, more than 300 people enjoyed the chance to get some sideways. The GT86 will also be displayed at the Toyota pavilion and will offer a taste of what this monster can deliver with a special driving simulator. Furthermore, visitors will have the chance for a close-up view of the 2000GT from the 60s and a Supra from the 80s. The latest Aygo and the TS040 Hybrid will also be presented on the show.

One-Off Toyota GT86 Collection Pays Homage to its Heritage

Toyota GT86 is one of the most famous and wanted sports cars in company’s line-up of vehicles. Well, the news that has just arrived is that Toyota is paying tribute to its heritage with classic a fleet of six GT86 coupes dressed in classic liveries. They are actually a celebration of the great Toyota race and rally cars of the past. The one-off liveries have been achieved with the help of vinyl wraps, lowered springs, stainless steel exhaust and retro-styled wheels.

As a matter of fact, many of the great characteristics of the GT86 have their roots in the generations of classic performance Toyota sports cars. So, each car is inspired by a different model, which was famous in the racing competitions during the last 50 years.

The fleet of the six starts with the two versions of the 2000GT, Ove Andersson’s 1970s Celica 1600GT rally car, the IMSA GTU Celica famous for its wins in the 80s, the World Rally Championship Celica GT-Four and the Esso Ultron Tiger Supra from the All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship.

Behind the vinyl application we can see the work of the experts at Motor Mode. They have literally mimicked the key elements from the original liveries onto the GT86. In addition, the cars also received new springs that have brought them closer to the ground. The right height was actually lowered by 40mm.

At last, rounding out the retro-styling are the Rota wheels in different finishes and the Milltek Sport stainless steel exhaust systems.

2015 Toyota AYGO x-cite is Ready To Excite Europe!

Since the day, that it was launched, the latest AYGO became one of the most popular A-segment contenders, that was sold with more than 70,000 units through Europe. With its well-known design and the extensive customization tweaks, along with the engineering improvements, the AYGO is made with fun in mind. And now, Toyota team is ready for the next step: the team introduced the AYGO x-cute, that brings even more tweaks, add-ons and options. Let’s check it out!

The latest edition comes with a redesigned Cyan Splash exterior with piano black details and graphics, while the front fender and side mirrors are finished in Bold Black. Furthermore, the vehicle brings and stylish 15-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with Glossy Black finish. An one more suprice: the latest x-cite will be available with a bi-tone1 option, which adds blackened roof and A-pillars for even better looks.

The interior is shaped with the Cyan Splash finish concept, that is precisely mixed with Bold Black components, like the instrument panel and the centre console. Some additional components include the “Toyota Safety Sence”, which is a special set of additional safety features, especially designed prevent collisions in complex road situations.

Furthermore, a Pre-Collision System watches for other vehicles in front and activates special mechanisms, that prevent the risk of hitting cars from behind. The PSC also can activate additional emergency brake, that delivers extra stopping force, if the driver couldn’t react on time. It is good to hear, that vehicle brands focus more and more on the safety system in their vehicles.

There is also a special Lane Departure Alert (LDA) system, incorporated in the latest Toyota vehicle, that monitors lane markings and reminds the driver to get back in the line.

And when we talk about systems, let us tell you a bit about the drivetrain system. The 2015 AYGO comes with a 3-cylinder 1.0-Liter VVT-i petrol engine, that Euro 6 compliant. Furthermore, the engine provides a class-leading fuel efficiency with only 88 g/km emissions. The vehicle is geared with x-shift automated manual transmission.
