Subaru BRZ tS Limited Edition

Subaru has announced the BRZ tS, which hits the market today through the dealerships in Japan.

The inherent handling performance of the Subaru BRZ has been further enhanced by using expertise developed in motorsports while achieving the “strength and nimbleness” driving committed by STI. The “SUBARU BRZ tS” offers a driver “oneness with vehicle” and “agile handling pleasure”.

The upgrades include 18” silver STI-designed wheels, Brembo brake kit, front add-on spoiler, STI rear suspension link with pillow ball bush, along with reworked coil springs and shock absorbers.

The interior boasts aluminum side sills, Alcantara applications and new front seats.

The engine is the well-known 2.0 liter boxer with 200HP (147 kW) and 205Nm of torque.

2013 Subaru BRZ tS is limited to just 500 units and all of them must be preordered before March 9, 2014.

Subaru Announces Pricing For 2014 WRX And WRX STI

2014 Subaru WRX and WRX STI are going on sale today. The iconic WRX will now deliver its biggest performance value in a competitive set. The car for the model year 2014 will offer to its customers more power and all-wheel drive.

The engine under the hood of this Subaru is the 2.5-liter turbocharged/intercooled four-cylinder BOXER one, which generates 265 horsepower (195 kW) and 331 Nm (244 lb.-ft.) of torque. The unit is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive System.

The latter utilizes viscous coupling locking center differential, which splits the power 50:50 under normal traction conditions. In case of a wheel slippage, the center differential transmits the power to the wheels with the best traction.

In addition, the standard equipment for this vehicle features sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and an AM/FM/CD stereo with six speakers, Bluetooth® audio streaming and hands-free phone connectivity and iPod® control.

Furthermore, there is an option package WRX Premium which delivers more comfort. It comprises of fog lights, a power moonroof and body-color trunk spoiler. All five-door models have a rear spoiler. The All-Weather Package is also standard and it features heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors and a windshield wiper de-icer.

2014 Subaru WRX Limited adds leather-trimmed upholstery and high-intensity discharged (HID) headlights. The option package here will offer its customers the addition of Navigation System with AHA Connected service, which includes a 6.1-in. touch screen, voice-activated controls, SMS text messaging, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, iTunes® tagging, SD card map upgrades.

Next, the 2014 Subaru WRX STI takes the company’s rally-bred road performance to the highest level. It is equipped with 305 horsepower (225 kW) turbocharged/intercooled Boxer engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Also standard on this model are the performance suspension and the exclusive Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) version of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

Moreover, the WRX STI also includes Brembo® Performance Brake System, Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) and Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system which features track performance-optimized mode.

All WRX STI models include as a standard HID headlights and the All-Weather Package. The latter comprises of heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors and a windshield wiper de-icer. Also standard here are the BBS® forged aluminum-alloy wheels, along with fog lights, rear window wiper/washer and special cargo area features.

The Limited edition of this model add on the standard specification the following: power moonroof, fog lights, leather upholstery and BBS wheels. As an option, there is being offered Navigation System.

Brand’s iconic line of sport models has a starting of $25 995.

TEASER: Subaru BRZ STi

Subaru has jut officially teased its new BRZ STi model with several images that show some elements of the car. The upgraded version of the two-door sports coupe was revealed on brand’s Japanese web site.

There is no information disclosed so far and there are plenty of unanswered questions. We re wondering about how much more power will the model have, will it be turbocharged, will it include AWD, etc. In fact, STI’s modifications are likely to put more attention on the BRZ’s emblematic dynamic capabilities.

From one of the images released we can conclude that architecture of the model will definitely be focused on the purity handling and this raises the expectations that the car will deliver more dynamism and joy of driving.

The regular 2013 Subaru BRZ was officially launched on the Malaysian scene in June this year. It is being equipped with six-speed auto box, but a six-speed manual is available through special order. The official details of the BRZ STi are still to be announced.

Subaru Releases WRX tS Type RA NBR Challenge Package

Subaru has just announced the release the exclusive Subaru WRX STI tS TYPE RA, which in addition is currently going one sale through the dealerships in Japan. The architecture of the new car focuses on suspension tuning.

In addition there are also especially-made items for this performance edition which has been adopted for its exterior and interior designs based on the 4-door WRX STI spec C. The driving was dynamics were also enhanced via sharper handling response.

Furthermore, there are also included quick steering gearbox (steering gear ratio 11:1), “Brembo” front monoblock opposed 6-pot brake calipers and grooved disc rotors. 2013 Subaru XV – Price £18,995

Subaru UK has announced an awesome price cut for the Subaru XV. The cross-over will be sold with £2,300 less, so it is even more affordable. The price reduction, which has been possible due to a more favourable exchange rate between Pound Sterling and the Japanese Yen, applies to every model in the Subaru XV range, and allows motorists to drive away in a new XV from just £18,995.

The Subaru XV offers permanent AWD as standard. Despite this, the 2.0D returns 50.4mpg (combined cycle) and 146g/km CO₂.

2014 Subaru Legacy And Outback Now With Symmetrical AWD

2014 Subaru Legacy And Outback models are equipped now as a standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and many more additions. Despite the increased equipment, the 2014 models have almost the same price as those specified for the year 2013.

The Legacy 2.5i and Outback 2.5i models are propelled by a 173 horsepower (127 kW) 2.5-liter 4-cylinder BOXER engine. It was introduced last year and it brought enhanced fuel efficiency. The engine of the Legacy can be either matched with a six-speed manual transmission or with the Lineartronic® continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Legacy 2.5i Premium and Limited models come standard with the CVT. On the other hand the Outback line offers a choice between the six-speed manual and CVT is offered on the 2.5i base and 2.5i Premium models. Outback 2.5i Limited comes as a standard with the CVT.

To be more precise, the Legacy and Outback 3.6R Limited models are powered by 3.6-liter 6-cylinder BOXER unit which is mated with a five-speed automatic transmission. The engine delivers 256 horsepower (188 kW).

What is absolutely new for the 2014 Legacy 2.5i Premium and Outback 2.5i Premium models is that they feature as a standard the All-Weather Package. The latter includes heated front seats, heated side mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer.

In addition, the Premium models also have a standard a display audio system with a 4.3-inch screen, 6 speakers and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. As an option there is available rear camera system.

2014 Subaru Forester First Vehicle To Ace IIHS Safety Test [VIDEO]

2014 Subaru Forester has just received a Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) award from IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). In fact, this is the first vehicle to ace every aspect of the front crash test and is the only (from 13 other vehicles) to earn an overall rating of good in the test.

Being entirely redesigned and reengineered the new Forester proved that it now can deliver improved protection for people in cases of frontal crashes. This award is first for the model so far and the brand expects to achieve more success in the future.

2014 Forester is equipped with 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged BOXER engine which produces 250 horsepower (184 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb.-ft.) of maximum torque. As an option, the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder BOXER is at hand, delivering 170 hp (125 kW) and 235 Nm (174 lb.-ft.) of peak torque. Both units are matched to a six-speed manual transmission as a standard or can be coupled with the available Lineartronic continuously variable transmissions (CVT).

In addition Subaru is the only manufacturer with 2013 IIHS Top Safety Pick for all models and the only company with IIHS Top Safety Picks for all models for four years in a row. As a matter of fact, 2014 Forester is the third Subaru to receive the TSP+ award. Right next to it stand the 2013 Subaru Legacy and the Subaru Outback.

In general, the conducted crash test proved that safety is one of brand’s major principles. The Forester is the most award winning small SUV in America and with this award Subaru have another designation for this venerable vehicle.

Revolution Motorstore Subaru Impreza WRX STI – Nurburgring [video]

Revolution Motorstore has created a real monster – Subaru Impreza WRX STI Nurburgring. It managed to complete a lap around Nurburgring in just 7 minutes and 53 seconds. Behind the steering wheel was Tommi Makinen.

The project is based on the JDM-spec STI and is the first unit part of a limited series of 10 cars. The tuner needs four months to build each car, and all of them will come without rear doors. Other highlights include a carbon fiber hood, widened wheel arches, thinner glass and an aluminum boot.

The power is coming from the 2.1-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which received Cosworth’s 2.2 stroker kit and whopping pressure from the bigger turbocharger of 1.9 bar. The result is 508HP (379 kW) and 677Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque.

Other upgrades include a set of 19” OZ Superturismo LM alloy wheels, Tarox 10-pot brake calipers, no ABS, Tein ProFlex coilovers with an EDFC remote control system. There is also a rollcage which has replaced the rear seats, along with Recaro seats and TRS harnesses. Carbon fiber and Alcantara was used to trim the cabin which also has gained a custom dash featuring a built-in tire pressure warning system.

The Revolution STI Nurburgring is priced at – £71,994.

2013 Subaru Forester XT – UK Price £24,995

Subaru has announced the pricing for the new 2013 Forester XT. The SUV-C vehicle is starting from £24,995 for the 2.0D X model and climbs to £30,995 for the range-topping 2.0i XT.

There are 6 trim levels for buyers to choose from, all with a generous level of standard equipment: XE and XE Premium is available on all naturally-aspirated petrol models; X, XC and XC Premium on all diesel models; and XT, the highest specification, is standard on 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol versions of the new Forester.

Lineartronic is available on XE and XE Premium models and is fitted as standard to XT versions.

2014 Subaru XV Crosstek Hybrid Debuts In Japan

Subaru has just unveiled their prototype of its first hybrid model in Japan. The vehicle is namely the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstek Hybrid that made its world debut at the 2013 New York International Auto Show in March.

This Hybrid comes to offer distinctive and enjoyable driving experience. The components of the hybrid system include a motor and a high voltage battery. They were mounted while maintaining the Subaru’s unique Symmetrical AWD layout. The result is that the low center of gravity and superior weight balance are kept the same as in the gasoline model.

Improved fuel efficiency (20.0km/liter) and smooth acceleration have been achieved through the utilization of a motor assist function. And the brand announced that the vehicle will be introduced to the Japanese market in early summer this year.

The Hybrid system and Power unit include the following highlights. First of all, the transmission is based on the Lineartronic (CVT), and additionally motor was installed behind the primary pulley. 2014 Subaru XV Crosstek Hybrid Revealed In New York

2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid is brand’s first-ever production hybrid vehicle which was just unveiled at the New York International Auto Show. The new model is based on the popular XV Crosstrek Crossover and will arrive in Subaru dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2013. The vehicle aims to be the most fuel-efficient and lowest-emissions AWD hybrid crossover in America.

XV Crosstrek Hybrid benefits of a hybrid powertrain that contributes to higher fuel efficiency. Other key components here are the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and chassis. For instnace, the 8.7 inches of ground clearance is higher than for some dedicated SUVs, while providing a low step-in height.

In fact, Subaru re-engineered the chassis in order to compensate the additional weight of the battery system, and has improved the handling, steering and ride. Furthermore, there is added extra sound insulation, a start/stop feature, revised HVAC, new gauge cluster and keyless start.

To be more precise, this hybrid model combines a 2.0-liter Subaru BOXER engine with a 13.4-hp electric motor which is integrated into the Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). A 100v, 13.5kw nickel-metal hydride battery is positioned under the rear floor area. The unit utilizaes and integrated starter/generator for the automatic start/stop feature.

The weight of this hybrid system is circa 209 lbs. and places the electric motor just behind the transmission and in front of continuously variable transfer clutch. The same system uses the electric motor for initial vehicle acceleration and afterwards it starts the gasoline engine. Of course, the electric motor can also help in terms of acceleration, while working in parallel with the gasoline engine. It also operates in low-speed situations.

2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid builds upon the utility and versatility of the gas model. However it offers improved handling responses and quieter driving performance. The Active Torque Split version of Symmetrical AWD sends power to the four wheels all the time and adjusts the torque distribution in response to acceleration, cornering and road conditions.

Some of the efficiency technologies included here are the Auto Start/Stop system that shuts down the gasoline engine when the vehicle is stopped; the brake regeneration – that operates when the car is coasting or the driver has applied the brake.

Moreover, the Active Grille Shutter system reduces air resistance. Several improvements that reduce noise include thicker floor sections, under-floor covers and additional sound insulation.

To signify its uniqueness, the model carries “HYBRID” badges at the front edges of the front doors and on the tailgate. In addition, the Plasma Green Pearl exterior color links to vehicle’s environmental character.

When one is inside the crossover, one sees clean blue theme with silver trim that underlines the advanced hybrid engineering. The instrument cluster, exclusive to this model, utilizes gradations of the blue color scheme to provide a sense of depth.

What is more, here is also featured the Color Multi-Function Display that shows the hybrid system’s energy flow. It utilizes switching screens, and it displays driving operation information with entertainment content.

Subaru WRX Concept

Subaru has released some nice pictures of their all-new performance concept car. This will be the next generation WRX car.

It looks a lot different than the Impreza. The front boasts a prominent front grille, a big front hood intake and aggressive headlights. The car is a lot lower and wider than the current saloon model. The roof is made from carbon fiber for lower weight and better handling. At the rear, there is a new trunk lid with a built-in lip spoiler.

Last, but not least, Subaru fitted the Concept with quad sports exhaust system with nice fluorescent yellow finish. We can see the same finish on the brake calipers and WRX badging.

The exterior is finished in Blue Pearl III paint.

There is also a set of 20” BBS forged alloy wheels fitted with Dunlop performance tires.

Nothing is mentioned about the engine, but we are expected over 300HP from 2.0 liter turbocharged engine.
