  • Vilner Recreates the Eternal Battle between BMW and Mercedes-Benz

Vilner has released an exclusive interior tuning of two of the most wanted premium cars: BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The eternal competition can be viewed below and it is up to you to decide which vehicle you like better! What is more, the battle is highlighted by two very symbolic colors: blue, which was chosen for the 5-Series, and red, which goes for the E-Class. This surely reminds us of other constant derby – this one between Chelsea and Arsenal soccer teams, or even between Pepsi and Coca-Cola. And if you are fan of the “Matrix” movie series, then you’ll definitely think of Neo’s dilemma between the blue or red pill.

The tuning of the BMW 5 Series includes a lot but discrete interior modifications. Precisely, the ceiling was covered with black Alcantara, while the plastic door handles received a special coating. In fact, everything is accentuated by a decorative blue stripe.

The blue theme continues with the seat belts, but above all, the most striking element of this tuning is the ergonomic steering wheel covered with perforated nappa leather and Alcantara. The blue pointer on it creates a straight line, while the M-Sport embroidery reminds us of the joy of driving a BMW.

The latest edition of Mercedes’ E-Class also grabs the attention. Here, Vilner’s therapy is accentuated by the red color. Again, the ceiling was wrapped in black Alcantara and the same treatment was applied on some parts of the seats. Everything is accentuated by a decorative red stripe.

The Bavarian rival shows-off with red seat belts and the AMG embroidery on the headrests of the front seats. The ergonomic steering wheel features perforated nappa leather and Alcantara in black, which is contrasted by a red pointer.

Which one is more aggressive? What do you choose?

Precisely, this unique CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake is fitted with select design features in matte graphite grey above the side sill panels. This design technique gives the car additional impact to its sporty lines.

As a beautiful contrast to the gray accents there are the orange splashes found on the AMG radiator grille as well as on the exterior mirrors and in the rear apron trim. The same orange color scheme is applied on the black allows and bi-xenon headlights which include highlight rings of the aforementioned hue.

All of this is combined with the Night package that includes black design features and chrome tailpipes. Inside, we see the same sports-styling via the flat-bottom steering wheel, the carbon fiber used and the two leather sport seats wrapped in DINAMICA microfiber. The dashboard is ARTICO-wrapped and is highlighted by orange contrast stitching.

No modifications to the engine have been implemented. This means that we get the same engine, which is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo unit. It produces around the globe which produces 181 horsepower (133 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.  The car speeds up from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. • “Ring your Setup” – Adaptive KW DDC ECU with Smartphone App for Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series

Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Black Series is a pure driving machine which offers pure driving pleasure. With its power output of 517 HP (380 kW), deriving from its powerful 6.2-litre-V8 engine, the car demonstrates a certain amount of sophistication, sportiness and convenience. Now with the adaptive KW DDC coilover kit and app, the experts from KW automotive set improved characteristics and virtues which result in maximized comfort and excellent experience on the road.

There are three different modes which the KW DDC ECU coilover kit offers so that the driver can alter the damping characteristics to the road conditions. The options include: “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport+” all of which are just one button away from the person who drives the vehicle. The free KW DDC App via iPhone or any other iOS or Android compatible Smartphone also allows such configuration.

Right in the heart of the development of these KW DDC ECU coilovers is situated the „Comfort“ mode and its soft dampings. Being the primary focus, it serves the purpose to provide comfort-oriented setup (which is pretty obvious by the name). Furthermore, the KW DDC control module is able to scan the vehicle data while driving the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Black Series and automatically adapts the damping characteristics to the driving speed. The “Sport” mode is defined by more agile and lively move. When in “Sport+”, the sporty damping characteristics double the lively sporty performance of the C 63 AMG.

In case there is a technical error, the KW DDC ECU coilovers automatically switch into a mechanical failsafe mode. In consequence, a proportional valve is adjusted instantly to a neutral middle position and the dampers continue to work in the KW basic setup.

Completely mounted KW coilover struts replace the original struts when installing the KW DDC ECU kit. The new ones come in “inox-line” stainless steel finish and allow a continuous lowering of 0 – 20mm at the front and rear axle.

  • Mercedes-Benz Shows First Teaser of GLE AMG Sports Range

Mercedes-Benz-GLE-Coupe-THUMBMercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is scheduled to debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January next year. Two teaser images were just revealed next to the news for the expansion of the range of the AMG Sport lineup. One of the cars depict on the image is the C450 AMG Sport and the other is probably the future GLE Coupe AMG Sport. AMG Sport’s will offer enhanced performance and technical refinements and will fill the gap between the AMG Sports package for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and the classic AMG models.

In addition, the lineup will feature updated engines, standard all-wheel drive and special chassis components and brake systems. The GLE Coupe is actually the old M-Class, which is expected to change the name after the future release of the facelift model.

This means that we can expect similar engine range: a 329 hp (242 kW) twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter petrol V6 or the 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 which produces more than 570 hp (419 kW).

There is no other information on the previewed cars, but if we look very closely we will see that the SUV has a coupe-like roofline. In other words it definitely looks like the Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe that we saw debuting at the Beijing Motor Show.

The Concept Coupe is powered by V6 engine with a displacement of 2996 cc. Its output has been rated at 333 hp (245 kW) at 5500 rpm and torque at 480 Nm (353 lb-ft) at 1400- 4000 rpm. The unit is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission with torque converter lock-up. If our suggestion is right then we will see exactly these figures in Detroit.

  • Meet the new 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe

    2015-MB-front_thumb2015-MB-front_651

The German luxury automobile maker Mercedes-Benz has proudly presented its latest and greatest model – the ultra luxurious and very powerful 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe model. The car packs awesome looks, a great interior and a new 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo gasoline engine that is more powerful and fuel-efficient than ever.

Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH explains: “The new S63 AMG Coupe is another exciting AMG dream car in the luxury segment. Now the S-Class Coupe also comes with performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive – as we rigorously pursue our all-wheel-drive initiative. Mercedes-AMG is putting the pedal to the metal again in the new year. Our model initiative is set to continue at blistering pace in 2014.”

The new car is full of new features and functions – it is up to 128 pounds (58 kg) lighter than its predecessor even though it comes with more standard equipment than before. The weight savings was achieved largely via the use of a lightweight lithium-ion battery, optional AMG forged light-alloy wheels and a weight-optimized AMG high-performance composite braking system. Furthermore, the entire outer skin and the front end of the body are made of aluminium. As you can imagine the lower weight improves driving dynamics and cuts on fuel consumption, moreover the low power-to-weight ratio results in impressive performance: the S63 AMG Coupe accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0-97 km/h) in an estimated 3.9 seconds and goes on to reach an electronically-limited top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h).

These results are possible thanks to the powerful AMG 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo engine that remains one of the most efficient series-produced V8 engines of all. The unit delivers 577 HP (424 kW) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. Compared to the previous CL63 AMG model, the new engine brings 41 HP and 74 lb-ft (100 Nm) of power, yet it needs less fuel.

The new 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe also comes with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sport transmission. It brings maximum agility and exciting dynamics and drivers can configure their own personal set-up, depending on their driving style. There are three modes to choose from: “C” (Controlled Efficiency), “S” (Sport) and “M” (Manual). The ECO start/stop function is fitted as standard.

The car also features an AMG sport exhaust system with automatic logic-controlled exhaust flaps in both rear exhaust pipes. When the transmission is in “C” (Controlled Efficiency) mode, the flaps remain closed in most situations, in which case the eight-cylinder bi-turbo engine’s sound is more understated. In “S” (Sport) and “M” (Manual) modes, the exhaust flaps open earlier and more spontaneously, especially if the driver prefers a dynamic driving style. The result is an even fuller, hallmark AMG emotive engine sound. Moreover, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe has permanent AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive. When driving 33 per cent of the engine torque gets sent to the front axle and 67 per cent to the rear axle. The rear-biased power distribution provides the signature AMG high driving dynamics and superlative driving enjoyment as well as boosting acceleration from a standing start. The all-wheel drive also enhances driving safety on wet or wintry road surfaces when equipped with winter tires. Optimum traction is guaranteed by a multi-disc clutch with a locking effect of 37 lb-ft (50 Nm), which maximizes the frictional connection potential of all four wheels.

The list of features goes on – the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe comes with a full air-suspension AIRMATIC system with an adaptive ADS PLUS damping system. Specific front axle kinematics – including higher camber, a larger anti-roll bar and a stiffer subframe carrier on the rear axle – have been developed exclusively for the S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe. These measures enhance the vehicle’s agility for performance driving.

As this is not enough the guys at Mercedes will also allow you to get some features as options. This is valid for the AMG forged light-alloy wheels. This design reduces weight while at the same time increasing strength. The lower unsprung masses result in advantages in terms of handling and spring/damper element response.Optional wheels include 10-spoke forged wheels painted in titanium grey with a polished finish – 8.5 x 20 at the front and 9.5 x 20 at the rear, with 255/40 R 20 and 285/35 R 20 tires respectively. The forged wheels feature a high-quality, screwable and fully integrated wheel bolt cover made of forged aluminium. Its shape is reminiscent of a center lock as seen in motorsport. The AMG logo is integrated into one of the ten spokes. These forged wheels are also available painted in matte black with a high-sheen rim flange. A high-performance composite brake system is also an option for the first time. The car comes equipped with a weight-optimized, fade-resistant AMG high- performance composite brake system. An AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system is available as an option. This design, which is more than 20 percent lighter, ensures lower unsprung masses and enhanced braking performance.

There’s no need to say that the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe is full of luxury and features great looks. The front end of the car is dominated by the three-dimensional AMG “twin-blade” radiator grille in silver shadow (a matte silver finish). Whether in motion or stationary, distinctive AMG lettering between the twin-blade lamellas leaves no doubt: this is a high-performance model from Affalterbach. The A-wing is located below the radiator grille. This three-dimensional air-ducting element is painted in the body color, spans the entire width of the front apron and displays the stylized “A” that is a hallmark of AMG vehicles. Large, black flics surround the outer cooling air intakes. Down below, the front splitter in silver shadow optimizes the flow of air to the cooling modules. This design feature, which is a familiar sight in motorsport, also reduces front-axle lift and enhances the vehicle’s aerodynamic balance.Further eye-catching features include the large AMG designed wheels. “V8 BITURBO” lettering in a new, contemporary typography on the front wings is another hallmark AMG design touch. On the inside the car surprises in a good way too – the instrument panel almost seamlessly transitions into the doors in a wrap- around design. High-quality materials and fine workmanship are combined with a sporty and exclusive design idiom. The newly developed AMG sport seats with power adjustment, memory function and seat heating/ventilation offer the driver and front passenger optimum lateral support. Fine AMG design Nappa leather with piping together with AMG badges on all four seat backrests and an embossed AMG emblem on the armrest of the front center console create an exquisite atmosphere.

The new three-spoke AMG sport steering wheel with its distinctively contoured rim and perforated leather in the grip area allows perfect vehicle control. There is an AMG logo in the lower metal insert, and new aluminum shift paddles shorten the reaction time when changing gears to enhance performance. Another feature displaying the hallmark AMG look is the high-resolution TFT color AMG instrument cluster with two animated round dials. In addition to the specific lettering and the needles in red/silver, further distinctive design features include the AMG start-up display, the AMG logo in the speedometer 200 mph scale (left) and the “V8 BITURBO” lettering in the rev counter (right).

The new, innovative touchpad, included as standard equipment, makes it significantly easier to operate the radio, telephone and navigation system. The safety and assistance systems are the same as those for the S550 4MATIC Coupe.

Interested in the car? The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe had its world premiere at the 2014 New York International Auto Show in April of this year and US customers will be able to get the car sometime this fall. No word on pricing as of now.
