  • Rare McLaren MP4-12C High Sport For Sale

2012-McLaren-MP4-12C-High-Sport-shadow2012-McLaren-MP4-12C-High-Sport-mediumMcLaren Newport Beach is the only authorised McLaren dealer in the Orange County and Sand Diego county, and today they have good news for you, the above-average customer. It’s in the form of a Pearl White 2012 McLaren MP4-12C High Sport that has only done 4,713 miles.

High Sport means that there are only a few of these on the streets (note the “Chassis 4” (out of 10) plates). It also means that you get cool stuff on it which you won’t find on standard editions MP4s. Stuff like an even more downforce-friendly carbon fiber front bumper, a composite underbody again with more downforce generative properties, carbon fiber rear wheel vents, front wheel arch louvers, carbon vented rear deck and engine cover vents, carbon ceramic brakes, carbon mirror caps and an F1 style badge.

That’s a lot of niceties but you do pay a lot of money for them. $399,888 to be precise. The original MSRP stood at $458,256 so that’s quite the discount (for a car that has barely seen the light of day). Apparently, everything has been kept up to standard since day one by an authorized McLaren dealer. You also can opt for McLaren’s Qualified Extended Warranty.

The MP4-12, although a tiny bit outdated nowadays, is still a serious player. It holds a 3.8-liter Twin Turbo V8. This one being an HS, it most probably has a boost of 75 hp over the standard 592 value. Quite the catch then!

  • McLaren Surprises With The Debut Of 650S In Geneva

McLaren 650S LogoMcLaren Automotive has just announced exciting news about the 84th International Geneva Motor Show, where it will debut the latest addition to its range of groundbreaking supercars – the McLaren 650S.

We suppose that the name of the model also shows its horsepower. In addition, McLaren gave a hint that the car will be probably some how similar to the 12C and the P1, precisely – it will be positioned between the two on McLaren Automotive’s supercar grid.

More details around the McLaren 650S will be announced ahead of car’s global reveal which will take place on 4th of March in Geneva.

  • GSC McLaren P1 Night Glow [RENDER]

GSC-McLaren-P1-shadowGSC-McLaren-P1-mediumOkay, this is the vision of German Special Customs’ (GSC) Jens Engelmann for the McLaren P1, and it definitely is something. That is, it’s unique, and orange… but good? We can’t tell. Aesthetic blindness some call it.

It’s called the “Night Glow” – no, not the rave party you got invited to last month on Facebook – the McLaren over here which is still in draft (render) form. Its fitted with a custom made kit consisting of an apron with a pointy spoiler blade, side blades, and LED daytime running lights. There are also side skirts and a very conspicuous rear diffuser. Moving further back we notice a roof air-scoop and a ridiculously big rear wing promptly called by GSC, XXL. No need for the stock retractable one then? You know, the one that was designed to preserve the car’s signature teardrop shape? Okay… The final product is expected to deliver 1000+ hp so all these changes better have some possitive aerodynamic value.

Oh, and probably the most shocking feature here, however, are the exhaust end-pipes which strike us as…well, round.

We’ll just sit here for a little bit more staromg at it and see if we can make up our minds about the looks.

  • Famous Parts Have A Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster

Famous-Parts-Mercedes-Benz-SLR-McLaren-Roadster-shadowFamous-Parts-Mercedes-Benz-SLR-McLaren-Roadster-mediumSo, the guys from the German-based Famous Parts company took a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster and touched it up a bit. And trust us on this, a very tiny bit. It’s strange actually, since they clearly lament the past glory of the SLR which is now being upstaged by cars such as the LaFerrari and the McLaren P1.

Anyway, what Famous Parts did was to put… ugh… new wheels on the open tot. Four forged ADV.1s were used measuring at 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the back. Their design – codenamed 5.2 MV2 SL – stands out for its elegant spokes and extremely minimal weight. As for the wheel color, Famous Parts went for the “brushed silver” style.

Apparently, it’s a work in progress this, because after the photo shoot, a KW coilover kit with three rebound and height settings was installed. There are also plans to put on a tailor-made titanium exhaust system with electronic valve control before the end of the year.

Would we be asking too much if they throw in some more oomph under the hood as well?
