  • Jaguar’s Bike Sense Technology Saves Cyclists from Potential Accidents [VIDEO]

Jaguar Land Rover just released a video showing that it is currently developing a range of new technologies. They will utilize colours, sounds and touch inside the car in order to alert drivers in cases of potential hazards. The specific thing about these technologies is that they have been created to prevent accidents only involving bicycles and motorbikes. To go into details, the sensors on the car detect when another road user is approaching. In fact, they can even identify it as bicycle or motorbike. When this happens, the Bike Sense will alert the driver via several means.

The technology does not uses only sound or warning icon, but lights and sounds that the driver will instinctively associate with the potential danger. In addition, the audio system will help the driver understand where the bike is in relation to their car. It will make a sound as if a bicycle bell or motorbike horn is coming through the speaker nearest the bike.

There is even more to this. When a motorbike approaches up the road behind the car, for example, after the Bike Sense have detected it, the top of the car seat will extend to ‘tap’ the driver on the left or right shoulder. Except for that it sounds pretty strange and even scary; the idea is that the driver will instinctively look over that shoulder to identify the potential hazard.

There is a scenario, when a cyclist gets closer to the car. What happens next is that a matrix of LED lights on the window sills, dashboard and windscreen pillars will glow amber and then red as the bike approaches. In addition, the exact movement of these lights across the surfaces will also show the direction the bike is taking.

Bike Sense is also clever enough to know that there are potential hazards that the driver cannot see. For instance, is pedestrian or cyclist is crossing the road, and for some reason the person behind the steering wheel can’t see them, the sensors will detect this and draw the driver’s attention with the help of visual an audible signals. And if for some reason the driver ignores the warnings, then the technology will make the accelerator pedal vibrate or feel stiff.

At last, Bike Sense also helps prevent vehicle doors being opened into the path of bikes. In these cases it would warn all passengers of an approaching vehicle through sound and light. If anyone continues with the opening of the door, the door handle will light up, vibrate and buzz.

  • Will the Jaguar F-Pace be the Ultimate Sports Car? [VIDEO]

The all-new model which will be added to the Jaguar line-up was teased with a short video. The car is named Jaguar F-pace and is set to go on sale in 2016.

Basically, this is the made-into-reality version of the well-received Jaguar C-X17 concept car last year. Inspired by the F-type, the 2016 F-pace couples unrivaled senses of practicality, performance and style. According to the car-maker, this family sports car is going to shake the world with its rugged exterior design and convenient luxury interior. Furthermore, the characteristics of a true performance crossover are achieved thanks to the extraordinary on-road capabilities with five-seat usability.

Speaking in Detroit, Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Global Sales Director, points out that: “In 2015 we will celebrate Jaguar’s 80th year. We have started it by announcing our first performance crossover which we consider to be the ultimate practical sports car – a car that builds on the marque’s founding ideals of Grace, Pace and Space to become one of the most innovative Jaguars we’ve ever developed. The F-PACE has now begun its engineering and development testing programme ahead of the new model going on sale in 2016.”

After such superlatives, expectations of customers have jumped one level up. So, Jaguar, careful what you are going to present at the end!

  • Jaguiar XE Offers Lowest Cost of Ownership

With the arrival of Jaguar XE there are going to be some really dynamic innovations and impressive results. In combination with the jaw-dropping look, the new Jaguar is just about to become a class leading vehicle.

Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director Jeremy Hicks commented that: “People expect Jaguars to feel luxurious, look superb and drive brilliantly, but many wouldn’t necessarily expect a Jaguar to be affordable – but we’ve worked hard to ensure the XE is just that. An enormous amount of effort has gone into developing everything from the new efficient Ingenium engines to the superb value-for-money service plans.

And he has a point for the Jaguar XE offers the lowest possible cost of ownership without, of course, compromising on the quality, efficiency and performance characteristics.

It is powered by the all-new 2.0-litre 163PS Ingenium diesel engine, with the mega law CO2 emissions of 99g/km. XE also has lower Vehicle Excise Duty and has better fuel economy.

CAP predicts that over a period of time of three years or 30,000 miles, the XE will be able to preserve 45% of its value. As a result, this will put the Jaguar far ahead of other models from BMW and Audi.

Finally, because of its qualities, XE is said to save customers thousands of pounds in ownership expenses compared to the established competition.

  • Jaguar F-Type Coupe Tuned by Best Cars and Bikes

BEST Cars & Bikes Company was established in 1997 at Viersen on the Lower Rhine, Germany and it is famous for its high-quality tuning, among many other kinds of services. Nevertheless, the tuner is quite picky for it offers a collaborative work with carefully chosen suppliers only. Part of its working program are bikes, as the title of the company suggests, but it also offers solely rims and exhaust systems which enhance the performance of a certain car.

The focus of Best Cars and Bikes has now been directed towards the British Jaguar car manufacturer. Not wanting to change big part of the F-Type virtues, the tuner has provided Jaguar F-Type Coupe model “only new shoes”. In this case, there have been used, the so called, CC-Line three-part rims which provides the Jaguar vehicle with exceedingly good and smooth running. The ensured stability and degree of obvious fine work can be noticed even when driving at high speed. Unlike the components inside the cast of ordinary rims which produce vibrations making the tires “jump” on the road, the “Schmidt Revolution” functions on a quite different level.

The developed by Volker Schmidt pressed three-part wheels bring excellent quality and efficiency. The multispoke-wheels are mounted on the front in 9,5×21 with tires 255/30R21 and on the rear in 11×21 with tires 295/25R21. In addition, here has also been installed a H&R spring set.

BEST Cars & Bikes Company is also working on a feature that will be able to improve the power of the Jaguar F-Type.

  • Jaguar Heritage to be Part of the 2014 Lancaster Insurance Classic Car Show

The Jaguar Heritage team is proud to attend the annual Lancaster Insurance Classic Car Motor Show from 14th to 16th of November, 2014. This will be the first year in which Jaguar Land Rover, represented by the recently established Jaguar Heritage department, will be taking part in the NEC season finale. Jaguar will put on display the professional competence of the Jaguar Heritage team conveyed in the new Jaguar Lightweight E-type continuation model and the extensive classic Jaguar parts offering.

As mentioned above, one of the beauties that are going to be presented is the so called ‘Car Zero’. This is the prototype for the six brand-new Jaguar Lightweight E-Types that are expected to be built by specialist engineers, highlighting the expert skills of the Jaguar Heritage workshop. The first models of the car in question were originally built in 1963. They were developed with aluminum bodies, aiming to exhibit better performance, with just 12 of the planned 18 cars being built. The six brand-new Lightweight E-types will carry the original series chassis numbers of the ‘missing’ models and will officially complete this exciting project.

In celebrating the 60th Anniversary of its iconic Le Mans winning D-type, Jaguar Heritage is more than pleased to introduce the sublime ‘Shortnose’ D-Type, chassis number 561, kindly loaned to Jaguar Land Rover by Adam Lindermann. The car became the Ecurie Ecosse team’s third, last, and latest ‘Shortnose’ D-Type. It was received brand-new from the Coventry factory in March 1956 and was registered ‘MWS 303’.

These Jaguar cars will be accompanied at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Car Show by new Jaguar Heritage branded goods which are now available for sale.

  • Ex-Brunei Royal Family XJ220 Offered By Silverstone Auction

It will be considered a sin if one makes a list of 1990s supercars and does not mention the Jaguar XJ220 there. The very special, specious, and, more or less, degenerated coupe (of course when it is compared to 2015 Renovo Coupe for instance) still manages to fascinate the imaginations of collectors around the world. Perhaps the bittersweet history of the car has a role in this established old-fashioned splendor that springs out of the XJ220 model. With its outdated and yet salient characteristics, the supercar remains an icon which demands respect. That is indeed a car for a Royal family… Or, at least, it used to be.

Now let me take you back in time. In 1988, Jaguar automobile company revealed a concept car that was supposed to be powered by a 530-hp V12 engine. Yet, until the time when rolling prototypes started being made, there occurred slight changes. The initially planned V12 engine was replaced by a new V6 with the promise of more than 200 mph top speed. Nevertheless, the XJ220 would end up being equipped with a 542-hp 3.5-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. With 0-60mph acceleration in the screaming 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 213mph the XJ220 was considered to be the fastest road car back in the day even though its fame and glory only lasted for a short period of time.

The car has now covered just less than 6,000 miles and is supported by MoT certificates dating back to 2002. Moreover, Silverstone Auctions estimates this 1994 Jaguar XJ220 to bring between £200,000 and £220,000 on auction day, or between $322,000 and $355,000.

Something quite exciting is that such beauty also exists in Bulgaria. The modified version by Overdrive has the modest price of 400 001 euros (about $544 300 and £300 000).

  • Instinctive All-Wheel-Drive? 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe Just Got It

2016-Jaguar-F-TYPE-R-Coupe-Instinctive-All-Wheel-Drive-THUMBHave you ever thought that an All-Wheel-Drive System can be Instinctive? Well, if you haven’t then you are not alone in this. Obviously, for Jaguar things are getting pretty modern because the 2016 F-TYPE R Coupe just got an Instinctive All-Wheel-Drive. The car was unveiled in the South African desert on Hakskeen Pan. The technology is a first for the F-TYPE line-up and it expands the dynamic capability of the car.

Speaking in numbers: it reaches the 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 186 mph. What delivers better traction in different road conditions is the standard Instinctive All-Wheel-Drive and Intelligent Driveline Dynamics.

F-TYPE model range will soon grow from 6 to 12 derivatives in the 2016 model year. The entire lineup will debut very soon at the 2014 Los Angeles International Auto Show on 19th of November.

The event and the special premiere also mark the beginning of the technical partnership between Jaguar and Bloodhound SSC. The goal is to raise the world land speed record to above 1,000 mph. For this reason, Jaguar assisted the Bloodhound SSC team in successfully completing a vital communications test at the Hakskeen Pan.

There was achieved also one more thing: the stability of the F-TYPE R AWD Coupe was demonstrated as it was driven flat-out by Bloodhound SSC chairman and former world land speed record holder, Richard Noble. The car was driven at top speed towards a jet flown at 500 mph and just above 50-ft above the ground.

The combined closing speed of almost 700 mph enabled the successful test of the system. This will also allow communications between the ground crew and Andy Green in the Bloodhound SSC, which will run for the first time on the Hakskeen Pan just twelve months from now. Andy holds the supersonic land speed record of 763.035 mph.

The additional details on the 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE range will be announced after the official launch at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

  • Lister Seeks Investors for Exclusive Hypercar Project

Lister-concept-THUBRemember Lister Motor Company? It is one of the most historic and significant of all the British sports and racing car manufacturers. The bran was re-launched last year at the turn of its 60th anniversary via the Lister Jaguar Knobbly model. Twelve months have been gone since the re-birth of the company and nine successfully sold Knobblys. But the main reason that we write about the British manufacturer is that it has announced an exciting project.

The management team has announced its desire to expand the Lister business. This of course means a development of new and exciting product – a highly sophisticated Hypercar that will return Lister to the leading edge of low-volume sports cars. However, this is a big-term project, because the brand is currently seeking external investors that have the desire to join it on the incredible journey.

The only details around the upcoming project are these two teaser sketches you see. We sincerely hope that Lister will continue with its bold intentions and eventually make the Hypercar. As a reminder, Knobbly racing car is traditionally hand-built and went on sale in April this year.

The new Knobbly will be offered with two engine variants. The first one is the 3.8-liter inline-six unit which generates 330 horsepower (243 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque and is mated to a four-speed Jaguar gearbox. The second option is a 4.6-liter V8 powertrain that generates 315 hp (232 kW) and 393 Nm (290 lb-ft) of torque and is coupled with a four-speed manual transmission.

    Jaguar-XE-tJaguar-XE-651

The world premiere of the new Jaguar XE took place at London. The company presents us a saloon car like no other.  Equipped with an advanced aluminium body shell, designed for light weight and stiffness, the aim for the XE is to deliver the efficiency that is so important in the fleet focused executive car market.

Engineered with the most sophisticated suspension and steering systems to rival its German rivals. The rear suspension is probably the most remarkable thing in the Jaguar XE’s dynamic package. The integral link system is a first class premium design, made from incredibly strong, yet light aluminium components which provide the stiffness needed for a precise handling.

Whether it’s in the city or in a high mountain pass, the XE offers a precise, intuitive, class leading handling. The XE will be the first Jaguar to feature a new advanced electric power assisted steering, along with the latest generation software.

The power train consists of a 161 bhp (120 kW) 2.0-litre diesel that’s part of the new, Ingenium engine family. With 380 Nm (280 lb.-ft.) of torque it forms 1,750 rpm. The ride proves not to swallow much fuel with a combined fuel economy somewhere around 75 mpg (3.8-litres/100 km).

The Jaguar company announced there is going to be an even more powerful version of the same diesel model, along with two petrol 2.0-litre engines with different productions. The XE S will be at the top, with the 336 bhp 3.0-litre supercharged V6; it should reach 0-60 mph (96 kph) in just 4.9 seconds.

The Jaguar XE sets new standards for ride, handling and steering. It will be the first Jaguar to run on new in control touch infotainment system with a new 8-inch touchscreen. Incontrol apps can be all accessed with a touch of the screen. Passengers can also make use of the in-car wifi hot spots, which allows multiple devices to connect to the internet on the best possible mobile connection, using a roof antena.

One astonishing feature of the XE is plane speech voice control, with which you can directly access any level in the system just by speaking, removing the trouble of working with lots of confusing menus. XE will also come up with an option head up display; a high contrast, laser projected color system which displays driver information directly onto the windscreen, without causing distraction. It can be configured to show a wide range of information. A Meridian Premium Audio – One of the finest systems on the market today, provides an opportunity to enjoy music to its fullest.

An exciting new feature is a new incontrol smartphone app which enables you to connect with your XE and operate features such as climate control, and you can do this from anywhere in the world.

The car also comes as a set of safety and security features such as: “In control protect” and “In control -secure”. “Protect” provides an integrated S.O.S emergency call and an optimized Jaguar assistance call which does not require having a mobile phone in the car. “Incontrol secure” allows pro-active monitoring for your XE. Should it be stolen, a tracking services cooperates with the law enforcement authorities to locate and recover the vehicle.
