  • Bugatti Veyron vs Nissan GT-R EkuTec [video]

Dragtimesinfo has published an interesting video with slightly tuned Nissan GT-R Ekutek Stage 2 with 700HP going against the powerful Bugatti Veyron with 1001HP.

Although the GT-R has 300HP less and a lot worse aerodynamics, it is not too much slower than the Veyron.  The tuned GT-R did ¼ mile in 11.922 seconds with 204.89 km/h, while the Veyron needed 11.285 seconds with 211.33 km/h. The 1 mile times were 28.788 seconds with 291.26 km/h and 28.341 seconds with 254.59 km/h, respectively.

Notice that the Veyron hit the brakes hard before the car crossed the finish line. Obviously the Veyron is not the right vehicle for drag racing, but it is pretty fast!

    Enjoy!

  • Bugatti Legend: Jean Bugatti Veyron Receives Its World Premiere [VIDEO]

Jean-Bugatti-Veyron-THUMBAfter the launch of “Les Légendes de Bugatti” (Bugatti Legends) series a few weeks ago in Pebble Beach in California, Bugatti has just unveiled the second vehicle in this exclusive edition. The world premiere was at the 65th International Motor Show in Frankfurt.

With the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse “Jean Bugatti” the French luxury sportscar brand celebrates the oldest son of company founder Ettore Bugatti and his most famous creation – the Type 57SC Atlantic. The model as well as the other five vehicles in the Legend series, will be limited to three examples.

The technology in the second Bugatti Legend model is based on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. It is equipped with the 8-litre W16 engine which produces 1200 horsepower (882 kW) and 1500 Nm (1107 lb-ft) of torque at 3,000 to 5,000 rpm. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds.

The designers of this Jean Bugatti aimed to follow the concept of its historic predecessor, the Type 57SC Atlantic La Voiture Noire. Therefore the body was constructed entirely from jet black, clear-coated carbon fibre. In addition, the utilization of platinum lends an air of extravagance to the vehicle, with the famous Bugatti horseshoe on the front grille and the EB logo on the rear.

Furthermore, the exclusive appearance of the car is additionally highlighted by the wheels, which include black diamond-cut rims. The signature of Jean Bugatti has been lasered onto the petrol and oil cap and painted Arctic grey.

Next, for the interior of this Bugatti model, the designers was also used the same design philosophy of adding a motif of the historic La Voiture Noire. Inside the car has been fully fitted out in leather.

The Vitesse will also include the same beige and brown tones that were present in the Type 57SC Atlantic. In addition, the seats, instrument panel, steering wheel, dash panel, centre console, door trim panels and windscreen crossmember are all decided in chocolate brown.

The chocolate brown makes the perfect contrast to the light beige silk leather upholstery, which in turn is continued in the footwell, the outer door trim panels and the handle recesses. The colour of the decorative stitching complements the used leather.

The attention is immediately grabbed by the embroidery on the doors and the cover of the rear storage compartment. This passion to the tiniest detail is also visible on the steering wheel as well as in the EB logo, which as mentioned has been styled in gleaming platinum. Another highlight is the gear-shift which stays true to the original Type 57SC design and is rendered in valuable rosewood.

What is more, there are also features such as leather insert embossed with the lettering “Les Légendes de Bugatti” in the extended section of the centre console, and door sill plate displaying the image and signature of Jean Bugatti.

Jean Bugatti Veyron is priced at 2.28 million euros.

  • Eleven Supercars Auctioned for €3.1 million

A really lucky buyer got eleven supercars for only €3,100,000 (around $4 million) from an auction. The fleet includes two Bugatti Veyrons, a Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT, Maserati MC12, Ferrari 599GTO, a Rolls-Royce, an Aston Martin, a Maybach and two Bentleys.

All these cars were owned by Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue who is the son of Equatorial Guinea President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

During an investigation back in 2011, the vehicles were seized by French authorities after an alleged theft of public funds at home in the African nation. All eleven supercars were seized at the president’s incredible 101-room mansion, which is located near Champs Elysees.

Some of the supercars were barely driven or not at all, so the value is several times that buyer paid. A second hand Veyron starts from €800,000, an Enzo costs at least €1 million and the Carrera GT is around €300,000, if the buyer decides to sell all of them he will make fast several million €.

The 11 vehicles were part of a more extensive 26-supercar fleet which was shipped from United States to France in 2009. We wonder what happened to other 15?

  • Lightweight Bugatti Veyron With 1500 Horsepower Planned

Bugatti-Veyron-super-duper-THUMBA lightweight 280 mph-plus Bugatti Veyron Hypercar is going to be launched as early as next year and it is said that it will be capable of generating more than 1500 horsepower. In fact, the production of this final and highly extreme version of the Veyron is set to satisfy the ambitions of the luxury brand for astounding performance.

Currently, the team at Bugatti which is responsible for this project is looking at several options. There isn’t set any time limit, but still the specialists are sure that in order to be worth it, the programme has to be expensive and time-consuming.

It was also disclosed that the new model will be based on Veyron Super Sport, but it will be dramatically enhanced in terms of weight and hence will include new weight-saving technologies. This probably means that for the structure of the will be used extensively carbon fibre, which is to cut about 200 kg from the Super Sport’s 1888 kg kerb weight.

In addition, there will be also included enhancement in terms of power. In contrast to the Super Sport’s standard 1184 horsepower (870 kW), the planned Veyron will have a potential power output from the quad-turbo W16 engine of more than 1500 hp (1103 kW).

There are also rumors that the unit will be possibly combined with an electric boost system. The most extreme version of Veyron, would probably achieve at least 280 mph, in order to bring enough satisfaction to the customers who are willing to pay the more than £5 million price for it.

  • Gold Chrome Bugatti Veyron owned by Flo-Rida

What is better than a Bugatti Veyron? That’s right! A gold Bugatti Veyron and by a chance, the American rapper Flo Rida has one.

Typically for rappers, attracting attention is more important than actual beauty. Flo Rida wanted to attract even more attention which is why he used the services of Florida-based Metro Wrapz whose moto is “Go chrome or go home” – very “nice” indeed.

The Veyron received a full shiny gold chrome vinyl wrap. There is also a set of enormous Forgiato 24”, 24 karat gold-plated alloy wheels fitted with ultra-low profile tires in order to fit them in the arches.

The Veyron is one of the fastest super cars in the world. It is powered by a W16 8.0 liter quad-turbocharged engine with 1,001HP (736 kW) and 1,250Nm (922 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and 0-300 km/h in 16.7 seconds. ¼ mile in 10.2 seconds.

  • Bugatti Veyron vs Nissan Juke R [video]

Dragtimesinfo has published an epic battle between tuned Nissan Juke R and stock Bugatti Veyron.

That’s the factory’s data, but in the real world the situation is slightly different.

The Veyron in the video managed to cover ¼ mile in 11.276 seconds with 214 km/h terminal speed, which is over a second slower than the claimed time. Other interesting fact is the terminal speed at 1 mile – 309 km/h, which the Bugatti made in 27.067 seconds, instead of 18-19 seconds. Still, the Veyron is a winner in this match, just because of its aerodynamics.

On the other side, the Juke R Shpili Villi is having “just” 700HP, but it covered ¼ mile in 10.575 seconds with 212 km/h. The 1 mile time is 28.075 seconds with 285 km/h mainly because of its front drag area.

Enjoy the video, where the underpowered SUV almost won a drag race versus the ultra-expensive “supercar”.

In the video below you can vie how a racing driver crashed his quarter of a million Bugatti Type 35 classic racing car. The person behind the wheel was Edmund Burgess, 56, from Lavenhan, Suffolk, and he was competing in the Prescott Speed Hill Climb in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire on 2nd of June.

The reason for the accident was that the brakes on this classical Bugatti failed. More interestingly however, is the fact that although the vehicle flipped right over, and even the driver obviously hit his head, Burgess dusted himself off, and after paramedics assessed him, he headed straight to the bar to have a beer.
