  • Lorinser releases power-upgrade for Mercedes-AMG GT and GT S

Lorinser Mercedes-AMG GT S front and side viewMercedes-AMG GT and GT S, oh, who doesn’t love these? Especially when it comes to high-speed and style the models are among the most preferred, not only for a stock purchase but also by tuning companies, which love to play with these little masters. One of those customization specialists are those at Sportservice Lorinser, who know what they are doing when it comes to refining Mercedes-Benz models. With their newly produced components for the AMG GT and GT S, these guys are “killing it”!

They have done here a power performance increase and added some in-house made sports accessories. Nothing much you might say, but the result after all is the most important part of a job that is very well done. Here are the details you need to know!

SEE ALSO: This is how the Mercedes-AMG GT S could look, if …

The stock engine of the AMG GT and GT S is the 4-litre V8 unit, making it possible for the GT series to unleash 456 hp (340 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 600 Nm (441 lb-ft); and for the GT S series: 503 hp (375 kW) at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft).

Lorinser Mercedes-AMG GT S rear and side view

These numbers serve well to make a comparison to the result after the tuning, which is clocking 595 hp (443 kW) at 6,100 rpm and an impressive 750 Nm (554 lb-ft) of maximum torque, available at 4,900 rpm. When it comes to acceleration time, both model versions cut the time to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h to 3.6 seconds. In addition, the Lorinser-powered coupes reache 200 km/h in 10.1 seconds, driving on their way to the 300 km/h top speed.

The powerful uprating is complemented by RSK 8 light-alloy wheels, sized 20- and 21- inches at the front and rear, respectively. They were then fitted with 265/30 R20 at the front and 305/25 R21 at the rear. And this is all. It is not much, but still enough to enjoy a quality ride. And very fast one, too.

  • Prior-Design meets Vossen Wheels in a cool Mercedes-AMG GT S project and everything is shot in Monaco

Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S front and side viewWhat happens when two very posh companies that offer additional style for you vehicle work together? It happens projects like this. The unique Mercedes-AMG GT S has been updated by Prior-Design in general, but instead of the standard wheels that come with the wide-body kit they offer, it has been fitted with Vossen ones. What is more, the car has been photographed in one of the most beautiful places on Earth: Monaco! Is it the place that makes this car so attractive or?

Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S has taken part in the 2016 Supercars Monaco Prior-Design Tour, which aimed at showing custom-made wide-body kits on some of the fastest models in the automotive world.

    Prior-Design PD800 GT

This is the name of the new wide-body kit by the specialists at Prior-Design. As you can expect, it not only makes the car more individual (in terms of looks), but it also takes care for its performance abilities, although in an indirect way.

SEE ALSO: Prior-Design is killing it with the Audi RS6/A6 Avant PD600R project

To go into details, the pack comprises of some cool parts like a front add-on spoiler and trunk spoiler, brand new side skirts, rear diffuser at the back, front and rear flared arches as well as custom canards and air intake panels. The result leaves us speechless. Oh and there is a custom bonnet on the way, too.

    Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S front view

Originally this kit comes with the in-house made PD3Forged Superlight wheels. However in this case Vossen Wheels has stepped in bringing about more exclusivity than ever. Here you look at huge VPS-307 Vossen alloys fitted with low profiles.

Most definitely this tuning pack will help the supercar release its inherent power: 510 hp (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. Just to remind you, the sprint the AMG GT S is making to 100 km/h from standstill is in only 3.8 seconds, while the Vmax has been positioned at 310 km/h (192 mph).

  • VÄTH improves the performance characteristics of Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG 4MATIC

VATH Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG 4MATIC front viewVÄTH has unveiled its latest project based on the Mercedes-AMG C450 4MATIC (W205). The tuning company has developed a special kit called V45, which boosts the power of the model. The result is impressive and it doesn’t’ include only output optimization, but it does also feature some important upgrades that aid the performance of the car. Here are the details.

First and foremost, the kit features individual precision-adjustment of the engine electronics as well as an increase of the top speed and large cooling system. The effect of all this is a total output of 441 HP (324 kW) and 772 Nm (570 ft-lb) of torque. The top speed has grown up to 300 km/h.

SEE ALSO: The Stronger the Better: Meet VÄTH Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

This is pretty intriguing especially when it comes to comparing it to the stock figures. Precisely, the original output of the engine is 362 hp (270 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. The top speed was electronically limited to 250 km/h.

    VATH Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG 4MATIC rear view

Then the next step was to add VÄTH end muffler system with valves made of stainless steel. At each side of the rear, we see one of the two oval tailpipes with flanged edges in 118 x 85 mm size. Furthermore, the lowering thread kit gives the Mercedes sportier stance, lowering it of 20 up 40 mm.

To ensure an adequate braking power, the tuner upgraded the entire brake unit with durable braided steel flex lines and high-performance racing-brake system oil. Moving forward to the wheel-tire-combination, it comprises of rims 19-inch size fitted with 245/35ZR19 tires on the front axle and 275/30ZR19 on the rear axle.

We do expect great performance accomplishments of this one-off Mercedes C450 AMG.

  • B&B Automobiltechnik with Mighty Update for the Mercedes-AMG C63 Family

B&B Mercedes-AMG C63 Side View Performance upgrades are always a favorable thing when it comes to boosting cars that show some special on-road behavior. And to be more precise, we are having a good example here. It is the upgrade program developed by the specialists at B&B Automobiltechnik for the latest variant of the C63 AMG family. By the way, the lineup of cars has grown significantly and now includes Saloon, Estate, Coupe and Cabriolet. What they have in common is the same 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine.

This powerful unit produces no less than completely stock 476 hp (350 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque, and 510 hp (375 kW) and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) in the ‘S’ specification. Exactly these numbers needed to be enhanced by the expert tuners, believe it or not. The B&B engine upgrade is made in two stages with two “end”-outputs respectively.

SEE ALSO: B&B Automobiltechnik Shows How to Boost Performance of BMW M4/M3

Stage 1 offers ECU remap, which is boosting the output of each version to 575 hp (423 kW) and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque. Based on the first one, Stage 2 requires modifications to the intake system, which improves the ram air volume and flow. In addition, the boost of pressure combined with the appropriate recalibration of the fuel and ignition maps, further enhances the combustion efficiency. The result is a total of 600 hp (441 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft).

    B&B Mercedes-AMG C63 Engine

But would it be an effective performance upgrade if there weren’t any changes to the acceleration sprint? The answer is definitely “No”, and we are happy to confirm that the B&B modified AMG C63 hits the benchmark 0-100 km/h in only 3.5 seconds compared to the 4.1 seconds of the stock variant. The 0-200 km/h time has been dropped from 13.1 to 11.5 seconds.

What is more, the control software of the 7-speed AMG DCT transmission is also adapted to the new characteristics of the motor. And don’t worry for the factory speed because it has been changed too. The limiter which allows acceleration up to 250 km/h top speed has been removed, allowing the car to exceed 320 km/h.

The performance increase is also complemented by sport spring set, dropping the ride height by 25 mm; the height adjustable B&B/KW V3 coil-over suspension kit with adjustable bounce and rebound control; the high performance brake system and deep-dish B&B B21 alloy wheels.

Now this is a nice tuning, isn’t it?

As mentioned, there are two variants for the power output of the car: the higher is of the C63 S Cabriolet, which by the way is capapble of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.1 seconds. On the other hand, its not so powerful sibling does this within an extra 0.1 second. The top speed for both is 250 km/h and it is electronically limited. If one opts for the AMG Driver’s Package, the top speed rises to 280 km/h.

Another interesting fact is that the engine also powers the C63 Saloon, Estate and Coupe as well as the GT sports car. Its characteristic feature is that the two turbochargers are positioned not on the outside of the cylinder banks, but between them in the “V”, or as the experts call it: the “hot inside V”. This is of course not meaningless, but offers many benefits for the engine like its compact construction, optimal response and low exhaust gas emissions.

  • Rare Mercedes-AMG A45 Edition 1 Sees More Power and Torque Than Ever

Posaidon Mercedes-AMG A45 4MATIC Front ViewPosaidon has been very active lately (see in the link below) and this time they have sent us a very exclusive project, which again involves a Mercedes. However, what is particularly very cool about this car and what has impressed me much is that the tuning company has worked with the rare Posaidon Mercedes-AMG A45 Edition 1. The changes featured here not only involve power uprating but also feature some additional upgrades which we’ll discuss in details.

    The Excellent Tracktool

The Mercedes-AMG A45 4MATIC is the perfect basis for power uprating because it initially offers impressive performance and exclusive optical properties. This is the reason why the tuning company did not hesitate to develop right away a breathtaking tracktool.

SEE ALSO: Posaidon Ensures that There is an excess of 700 HP for the Mercedes-AMG C63 Station Wagon

Posaidon’s tracktool-package features a complex overhaul of the four-cylinder twin-scroll turbocharged engine. The result is impressive increase in power, which I will reveal you in a moment.

    Posaidon Mercedes-AMG A45 4MATIC Rear View

The boost was made possible via the addition of upgraded turbocharger, catless downpipe and revised the engine control software that includes the fine-tuning on a dynamometer. In addition, the tuners also optimized the charge air cooling and the airflow for the intake air.

As a result, the increase in power is up to 485 hp (357 kW) and 555 Nm (410 lb-ft) of torque. In combination with the reinforced transmission, the powerhouse now reaches a top speed of 310 km/h.

    Other Goodies

Nevertheless, this impressive performance requires an upgraded deceleration means. So, Posaidon offers an upgrade for the original braking system or special two-piece potted discs. At last, the conversion of the A45 Edition 1 includes in-house made speed-trap update for the navigational system, unlocking of the TV-Mode and the deactivation of the Start/Stop-ECO mode.

  • Posaidon Ensures that There is an excess of 700 HP for the Mercedes-AMG C63 Station Wagon

Posaidon Mercedes-AMG C63 Station Wagon Front ViewPosaidon is a young tuning company which is fond of optimizing Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This time the attention of the specialists got the Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63 S in their station wagon versions. Note that in the gallery below is depicted only the C63 variant. They have chosen these two, because of the potent twin-charged 4.0 liter V8 engine, which in the C63 produces 476 hp (350 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque.

The more powerful C63 S is capable of 510 hp (375 kW) and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft). Both cars have a factory limited top speed of 250 km/h, which can be raised to 290 km/h with the AMG Driver’s Package.

    M177DE40AL

With performance tuning running in their blood, the experts at Posaidon decided to make something more impressive for the massive V8. This is why they have applied the M177DE40AL aggregate, which helps the C63 and C63 S achieve 700 hp (515 kW) and 890 Nm (657 lb-ft) of torque.  The result is better acceleration time, which now jumps to 3.4 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint. The top speed is taken even further – to 343 km/h.

Posaidon Mercedes-AMG C63 Station Wagon Engine

This “performance explosion” is assisted also by the in-house made turbochargers and the upgrade for the charge air cooling. What is more, the tuning company applied an exhaust system, which connects directly to the turbochargers and features motorsport catalysts.

The engine map was optimized and now includes an optional deactivation of the start-stop mode, done by remapping the original engine control unit of the M177 engine. In addition, Posaidon optimized also the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed-sports-transmission or if the customer wishes there can be installed an upgrade rear differential for the non S models. The latter delivers better traction of the driven rear wheels through its increased barrier effect.

At last we should mention that the tuning studio offers the available speed-trap update. It integrates comfortably into the COMAND Online navigational system and makes everything a little bit easier.
