  • Je Design Seat Altea XL

Je Design Seat Altea XLWhoever admires minivan look would do well deciding on a Seat Altea XL. JE DESIGN provides a clearly sportier version for its mid-size family car through its Spanish alterations. A car body kit completes the aesthetically pleasing form. In addition, JE DESIGN offers amongst other options a lowering, a sports exhaust and new rims.

    Facelift by JE DESIGN

A complete facelift procedure is performed by JE DESIGN on the front of the SEAT Altea. A new grill with grid inset – in contrast to the original version minus brand labelling – is available in Matt Black or by request in matching vehicle finish and is just the first step offered. Next are headlight eye brows providing the Altea series-produced headlights with a much more serious look. The third step is a new front spoiler available to optimise aerodynamics. Naturally, JE DESIGN dedicates its attention as well to the other side of the Seat Altea. Side skirts set provide this and thanks to the new rear apron fitting, an optical lowering of this vehicle ensures a rear sporty look. The single parts for the Seat Altea XL are also available as a complete kit.

Further optical measures pertain to the doors as JE DESIGN provides an 8-component highly polished door handle set in chrome. Matching to this the Leingarten, Germany, based tuner offers the B-pillar in “3D Chrome”.

    More power

Even a mid-sized family van can have the liberty of a power boost. JE DESIGN increases the 2.0 TDI engine from series-produced 103 kW/166 PS to 130 kW/176 PS with 4000 U/min. Improved elasticity values follow this procedure maximizing the torque to 405 Nm compared to the series-produced 320 Nm. The power surge effects high-speed as well. With 210 km/h the Altea runs a quick 9km/h faster than the series-produced version. The sprint from 0-100 km/h is performed in just 8,9 seconds versus 9,9 seconds. As required for any serious tuner, JE DESIGN supplies the power enhancement with TÜV parts approval.

    Better vehicle handling, improved brakes

More agility is promised through a lowering set lowering the „Altea XL“ by approximately 35 mm. Optionally offered by JE DESIGN is an adjustable coilover suspension with preset damper setting.

For those who prefer sustained deceleration, JE DESIGN installs a 330x28mm 4-piston sports brake system on the front axle providing more safety.

    19-inch und more sound

Absolute mandatory are new rims. For example, offered within the complete wheel sets is the design „Multispoke“in 8.0 x 19 ET 45 with tires 225/35 R19 This wheel also comes in Chrome-look in sizes 17 und 18-inch. Alternatively JE DESIGN offers the design „Masterline“ in 17-inch.

Tuning of sound is modified by JE DESIGN for the Seat Altea in way of powerful sound equipped through a rear silencer. It is composed of four anti-corrosion stainless steel 90mm tailpipes two on the left and two on the right providing an even more sporty look.

  • Nissan Pino

Nissan PinoNissan today announced the launch of the new Pino minicar at dealers across Japan. Nissan Pino, true to its marketing tagline of “Shift_lovely days,” is an economical, easy-to-drive minicar, aimed at consumers looking for a personal vehicle that is ideal for everyday driving. As Nissan’s fourth minicar model, along with Moco, Clipper and Otti, Pino expands Nissan‘s minicar lineup, giving customers more choices in this growing market segment.

Along with its low price and low fuel consumption – essential requirements of a minicar, – Pino is distinguished by its simple design that projects user-friendliness. Ease of ingress/egress is outstanding, and a class-leading minimum turning radius helps make the Pino practical and easy to drive. The car also comes with a variety of convenient features for everyday use, including a nearly flat floor luggage area.

Pino is supplied to Nissan by Suzuki Motor Corporation on an OEM basis. In conjunction with the Pino’s release, Nissan is promoting a collaborative marketing program with Sony Plaza. The program is aimed at enhancing users’ everyday enjoyment of their Pino. A core element of this program is an online “Web shop,” Pinoshop.jp, which offers various goods and accessories for the car. Sony Plaza, operated by PLAZASTYLE Corporation, specializes in unique imported products.

    Economical to Buy and Drive

A low price and low fuel consumption combine to provide low cost of ownership. The 2WD model fitted with a 3-speed automatic transmission achieves a fuel economy figure of 21.0 km/l.
All 2WD and 4WD models fitted with a 5-speed manual transmission qualify for tax reductions under the 2006 Green Tax*1 program in Japan. The 2WD model with a 5-speed manual transmission is eligible for a tax reduction of 9,000 yen, while the 2WD models with either a 3-speed or a 4-speed automatic transmission and the 4WD model with a 5-speed manual transmission receive a tax break of 4,500 yen.

    A Simple Design Projecting User-friendliness

The front-end has an engaging look with the distinctive Nissan signature grille design. This same design cue also distinguishes the Moco and Otti. The headlamps are a sharp, clean-cut form, while the stylish turn signal lamps combine square and round shapes.

The rear view continues the clean design form with character lines running from the roof to the bumper. The rear combination lamps and deep rear bumper complete the overall look of stability and clean style.

Pino’s 13-inch full wheel covers feature an exclusive Nissan design combining square and round relief elements inspired by snowflake crystals. The car is fitted with 155/65R13 73S tires.
The Pino comes in a choice of nine body colors, including Lime Green Metallic.

    Comfortable to Drive and Use

Inside, Pino’s seats are covered in an exclusive Nissan fabric, featuring a soft tactile feel and a milky caramel color. The dice pattern on the fabric has star-shaped dots, with the numbers lined up in the order of 3-6-5-2-4. This expresses the designer’s wish for both the car and driver to stand out 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. E and E FOUR models are accented with a stylish door trim cloth made of the same material as the seat covers.

With its simple design and big numbers, the large-size speedometer can easily be read at a glance. The switch layout puts the climate and audio system controls within easy fingertip reach. A variety of storage spaces and compartments complete the strong interior package. On the E and E FOUR models, the side ventilators, shift knob button and inside door handles are embellished with a silver finish, accentuating the fine quality of the interior.

Outstanding ease of ingress/egress is provided by the large door openings, an instrument panel shape that allows extra knee room, and the low sill height. The driver’s seat slides fore and aft 240 mm and is 16-way adjustable to ensure the optimum driving position. The large front and rear outward views combine with the large side mirrors to provide excellent visibility for enhanced driving ease.

The luggage area has a large, wide opening and the rear seat folds down to create a nearly flat floor, making it easy to load and carry large items. E and E FOUR models come with a 50/50 split folding rear seat that can be easily rearranged to accommodate the amount or size of luggage to be carried. A class-leading minimum turning radius of 4.1 meters contributes to the Pino’s nimble maneuverability.

The Pino features Nissan’s “Inner Green” interior concept that includes an antibacterial surface treatment and an interior air filter to maintain a clean, comfortable cabin ambience. The remote control entry system incorporates a back door release and a function for confirming the locked status of the doors. The audio system includes an electronically tuned AM/FM radio with an integrated CD player (one DIN size), two speakers and a digital clock. A navigation system is available as a dealer-installed option.

    Smooth Performance, Superior Economy

Powering the Pino is inline 3-cylinder DOHC 12-valve K6A engine, which provides superior economy and quick acceleration from low speeds for easy, everyday driving.

The full-range electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission fitted on the E and E FOUR models has optimized gear ratios, enabling the 2WD E model to attain excellent fuel economy of 21.5 km/L. The transmission also incorporates a hill ascent/descent shift control function that prevents unnecessary shifting on uphill inclines, based on the vehicle speed and amount of accelerator pedal depression, and on downhill inclines in tandem with the driver’s operation of the brake pedal.

S and S FOUR models come with a 5-speed manual transmission with a short shift stroke for a smooth shift feel. The front strut suspension and the isolated trailing link (ITL) rear suspension provide a smooth, comfortable ride combined with sure-footed handling and stability.

The 4WD models are fitted with a full-time 4WD system that automatically distributes the necessary driving force to the front and rear wheels according to the road surface condition and vehicle’s dynamic state.

    Safety and Environmental Performance

Standard safety equipment on all models includes SRS air bag systems for the driver and front passenger, a driver’s seatbelt incorporating double pretensioners with a two-stage load limiter, a lightweight, impact-energy-absorbing body, and a brake system comprising Electronic Braking Force Distribution (EBD), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Brake Assist (BA).

All 2WD and 4WD models fitted with either the 4-speed automatic transmission or the 5-speed manual transmission are certified as super ultra-low emission vehicles (SU-LEVs)*2. They reduce emissions by an additional 75% from Japan’s 2005 exhaust emission regulations.

The 4WD model equipped with the 3-speed automatic transmission is certified as a U-LEV*2, emitting 50% fewer emissions than the 2005 emission standards.
All 2WD and 4WD models fitted with the 5-speed manual transmission also qualify for tax reductions under the 2006 Green Tax*1 program in Japan.

  • Zagato Maserati GS

Zagato Maserati GSOne year after the presentation of the Ferrari 575GTZ, Zagato returns to Villa d’Este with a world preview for fans of Italian sports sedans: the Maserati GS Zagato.

In the most classic traditions of exclusive collections that inspired the creativity of car designers in the ’50s and ’60s, Paolo Boffi, well-known entrepreneur in the furnishing and luxury design sector, has commissioned from Zagato a customised look for his Maserati GS Spyder.

Zagato proposes a line that evoked the historical Maserati A6 G Zagato of 1954: one of the most beautiful Italian sedans ever built, and nowadays at the top of every collector’s wish list.

The Maserati GS Zagato, like its celebrated ancestor, has all-aluminium bodywork and bears the Trident on the bonnet and the Z on the wing, expressing eternal Italian excellence in its shape and its content. A winning combination that matches powerful and reliable mechanics, with an elegant and and sports style, both rigorously Made in Italy.

For purists of the compact coupé, afficionados of the Milano-based brand, it is a two-volume, two-seater, hatchback with a streamlined profile and a neat tail.

The wheelbase is 180mm shorter, a spin-off from the Spyder, provides excellent handling and stability on curves, with extraordinary torsional rigidity.

In homage to the tradition of the gentlemen drivers who asked Zagato to transform the bodywork of their cars, modern collectors choose mechanics at the top level of technical evolution and ‘dress’ them in tailor-made garments that increase in value as time passes.

This is the mission of a modern automobile atelier: to create timeless objects that celebrate prestigious models and brands and which, unlike mass produced vehicles, are destined to last for ever.

Zagato, born in 1919 as an atelier for automobiles and planes, has put its signature on all the most important mechanics of the last century, earning the opportunity to create, every time, an “instant classic”.

Zagato’s strengths lie in the concept of sports-style elegance, a functional design that does not bow to momentary fashions but seeks out the excitement and pleasure of driving, and in the precious aluminium bodywork, a value recognised everywhere.

The Maserati GS Zagato will be on show at the Concours d’Elegance Villa d’Este, to be held in Cernobbio (Italy) 20 -22 April 2007.

  • Buick Riviera Coupe Concept

2007 Buick Riviera Concept CoupeThe Buick Riviera, a stunning concept car designed to showcase Buick’s new global design direction, made its global debut today at Auto Shanghai 2007.

The gullwing Riviera concept coupe was developed with global design input by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) in China, a design and engineering joint venture between General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). The Riviera was introduced today by Rick Wagoner, GM Chairman and CEO, and Hu Maoyuan, SAIC Chairman.

The Riviera has been engineered to accommodate a new hybrid system that will go into production at Shanghai GM, GM’s flagship joint venture with SAIC, in 2008. The fuel-efficient car, which will feature several technological and manufacturing advances, represents the latest achievement of GM and its partners in the promotion and development of alternative propulsion technologies in China.

According to Ed Welburn, vice president, GM Global Design, “Developing and launching the Riviera in China underscores the diversity, strength and depth of the GM global design network. It also reflects PATAC’s growing role within the GM Design family and China’s significance as the world’s largest Buick market.”

The Riviera also marks the return of a renowned Buick nameplate after an eight-year hiatus, having sold more than 1.1 million units in the United States between 1963 and 1999.

The Buick Riviera, with its tightly stretched carbon fiber body panels, combination of positive and negative curves, strong front and rear identities and gullwing doors, captures the essence of Buick classics, Welburn said, while presenting a thoroughly 21st century design.”The Riviera concept certainly lived up to the nameplate’s reputation,” Welburn said.”We developed the Riviera to communicate the global design vocabulary of the Buick brand and set the stage for General Motors’ design, engineering and manufacturing centers to work together on the next generation of Buick mid-size luxury cars.”

According to James Shyr, PATAC Design Director, the Riviera’s enticing curves and ‘earth and water’ interior tones are drawn from diverse inspirations including classic Buicks, ancient Chinese artifacts and modern electronic icons. The car, inside and out, communicates universal beauty – a look that transcends cultural or national boundaries.

“Designing this car made us realize how small the world could be. It’s not East. It’s not West. It’s not the United States or China. It’s Buick,” Shyr said.

Exterior Design – A Sense Of Existence, Not Anonymity

To establish their design direction, PATAC designers looked in part to Buick icons such as the original Y-Job Concept of 1938, the 1960s Le Sabre, Electra 225 and the Riviera coupes of the 1960s and ’70s.

The Riviera design is structured around the Buick tri-shield logo, sitting proudly on a trihedral waterfall grille which is formed by three meeting planes. This takes the traditional Buick treatment to a new level of sophisticated boldness.

The Buick logo leads into a reflective strip through the hood, a mark of respect to the distinctive mid-hood crease prevalent in classic Buicks. Elongated LED headlamps flow up the hood sides to three-section, top-mounted chrome portholes as a single piece of jewelry.

The logo, hood strip, headlamps, side mirrors and rocker covers all have ‘icy green’ backlighting available at night, matched by backlit logo and exhausts at the rear. Designers have cleverly incorporated several other design signatures from the original Riviera generation. They include the “double sweep spear” line along the bodyside and the flared tail design.

“This car was inspired by great Buicks – their grace, their gesture. This car was designed to achieve a sense of existence. It’s not an anonymous car when it drives past you but it’s not completely in your face either. We wanted to create something which would make you want to run your hand across it rather than just look at it,” Shyr said.In this theme, the ‘Shell Blue’ exterior color was chosen to elicit the right level of attention. The color is a metallic silver with light blue accents, perfectly highlighting the coupe’s exterior curves.

The gullwing doors, selected for their exotic appeal, achieve an expansive entrance to the two-plus-two seating configuration. Measuring 1938 millimeters at their widest point, they add to the coupe’s sleek sideline. At night, fully opened doors gently shine the “Buick” name on the ground.

The use of carbon fiber in all body panels allowed the designers greater flexibility through reduced mass and added strength. This made the gullwing engineering demands easier to realize and sharp, tight radius curves possible across the body surface.

The Riviera sits on 21-inch 10-spoke forged aluminum wheels, combining polished and satin finishes, with low-profile tires. Taking their cue from Formula One cars, the side mirrors are sweeping yet unobtrusive.

PATAC designed the Buick Riviera to accommodate the new hybrid system, which will be introduced in China in 2008 prior to the Beijing Olympics. The new hybrid system fits naturally with the Riviera’s ‘earth and water’ design theme.

Interior Design – All About Relaxation

In a word – sanctuary. The use of rich blue and subtle creams, representing earth and water themes, are conveyed through high-quality leather bucket seats, plush carpet and a luxurious padded steering wheel. Completing the organic feel, the roof comprises two shaded glass windows offering increased headroom and a celestial connection for occupants. “We had to have the driver feel relaxed and tranquil inside the car. We used earth and water tones and avoided hard, aggressive edges,” Shyr said.

The interior has no discernable start and finish point for the front and sides, creating a comfortable lounge feel. It is immediately futuristic yet somehow familiar. The three-dimensional speedometer, inspired by past classics but utterly modern in design, compliments the touchpad styled central console loosely modeled on a computer mouse. An LCD display screen crowns the central console.

Interior designers were encouraged to consider people’s personal belongings to enhance their feeling of familiarity and comfort in the vehicle. Continuing the theme of calm simplicity, electronic shifter pads replace the traditional transmission shifter. Controls are kept to a minimum to avoid driver distraction.

2007 Buick Riviera Concept Coupe Interior

Ambient light strips are applied from across the console and inserted on the door liner, stretching to the front seats. Deliberately imitating precious Chinese jade stone, the lights are tinted a subtle icy green, which also offers tribute to a favored color of Buicks in days gone by.

Interior trim treatments befitting the Buick prestige abound – miniature aluminum tri-shields in the front seat headrests, a wooden floor mat in the rear and a rear central armrest which can move sideways left and right to accommodate passengers of different sizes.

Royal blue Alcantara, a soft plush covering, was chosen for the door, console and roof while sandy white leather covers the lower door, lower console and seats.

    Ancient Influences In Modern Design

The design team set out to create a modern global design – not something which could be superficially described as a Chinese car. At the same time, they sought to draw from their heritage outside the automotive industry from classic shapes, concepts and artifacts. They wanted to include a subtle Chinese essence and influence if one looked deeply enough.

A strong influence was the yuanbao, a small curvaceous gold or silver ingot used in ancient China as currency and popular today as a symbol of ancient Chinese prosperity. “This design was about the East and the West co-existing in harmony. We always wanted to make a global car, to take a sense of the Buick DNA and create something for the world,” Shyr said.

“It is so wonderful that our designers can take some of the rich culture behind them and make it international. East, West, Buick, China – there’s no missing piece in the puzzle in here. Riviera has captured the essence of Buick – grace, gesture, form and emotion.”

  • STARTECH Dodge Caliber

Brabus Dodge CaliberSTARTECH Dodge CaliberSTARTECH offers a strikingly styled aerodynamic-enhancement program, and engine tuning for the diesel model. To add more sporty emphasis to the characteristic appearance of the Dodge Caliber the STARTECH designers have developed an aerodynamic-enhancement kit that adds to the compact car’s striking design.

The STARTECH front fascia not only visually upgrades the front; it also reduces lift on the front axle. The sides are given a more homogenous appearance with the STARTECH side body cladding that gives the Caliber a lower and sleeker appearance.

The rear of the Dodge can also undergo sporty modifications: The custom-tailored STARTECH lift-gate attachment continues the bullish contour of the rear fascia over the entire width of the rear. The rear fascia with stylized tailpipes left and right gives the Caliber a more powerful look. The fascia can be complemented with the STARTECH sport exhaust system. The rear spoiler is attached to the liftgate and stylishly rounds out the STARTECH designer suit.

For the Dodge Caliber 2.0 CRD with common-rail turbodiesel engine STARTECH offers powerful and reliable power tuning that ups power output by 40 hp / 29.4 kW. The STARTECH SD3 performance kit consists of a plug-and-play control module that can be installed by any authorized Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealer in half an hour, thanks to an included custom wire harness. Like the production models the STARTECH-tuned Dodge Caliber 2.0 CRD meets EURO IV emission limits.

With STARTECH SD3 tuning peak power output of the 2.0-liter common-rail four cylinder engine with Diesel particulate filter jumps from standard 140 hp / 103 kW to 180 hp / 132 kW at just 4,000 rpm. Even more important for everyday driving is the increase in peak torque from 310 Nm to 360 Nm between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. Thus equipped sprint time from 0 – 100 km/h is shortened from 9.3 to 8.6 seconds. Top speed of the tuned Caliber diesel model increases to 201 km/h.

STARTECH offers a stainless-steel rear muffler with one oval tailpipe on either side for all engine variants of the Caliber. There are two versions, one to be combined with the STARTECH rear fascia and one for installation in combination with the stock bumper. The exhaust system lends the Caliber not only a more thrilling rear appearance but also a more powerful exhaust note.

STARTECH offers more driving fun in the form of custom-tailored modifications to the suspension of the Dodge. Progressive-rate springs precision-calibrated to the standard shocks lower the ride height of the vehicle by some 30 millimeters.

Wheels make a car and STARTECH offers various custom-tailored STARTECH Monostar tire/wheel combinations with 19- and 20-inch diameters for the Caliber. The palette of suitable Monostar IV five-spoke wheels ranges from size 8.5Jx19 all around with tires up to 245/40 R 19 in size to an especially exclusive version with size 9Jx20 wheels and 245/35 R 20 tires.

    STARTECH Dodge Caliber Interior

The STARTECH program also offers numerous customization options for the interiors of all Caliber models: The STARTECH Lifestyle interior package will go on sale in the near future.

Extravagant highlights can be added with striking STARTECH accessories: Polished aluminum serves as the material of choice for door-lock pins, shifter and foot pedals. Also available are high-quality floor mats with STARTECH signet.

  • Renault Megane Sport dCi

Renault Megane Sport DCIThe launch of Megane Renault Sport dCi sees Renault complete its range of sportingcars with the addition of a high-performance diesel. Aimed at drivers who relish everyday driving, the Renault Sport Technologies-developed Megane Renault Sport dCi will also appeal to those who appreciate reasonable running costs.

Its 2.0-litre common rail 127kW (175hp) diesel powerplant boasts generous maximum torque of 360Nm available from 2,000rpm and across an operational power band similar to that of a petrol engine. Meanwhile, its exceptional combined cycle fuel consumption of just 6.5 litres/100km makes it an ideal choice for fans of sporting cars who wish to drive their car on a regular basis.

In keeping with other Renault Sport Technologies-engineered models, Megane RenaultSport dCi’s standard chassis delivers sports performance, while those who prefer a more focused drive will appreciate the optional Cup chassis. Available with three or five doors, Megane Renault Sport dCi is built in Renault’s Dieppe factory.

Last December’s launch of the 150hp Megane GT 2.0 dCi paved the way for the arrival of other dynamic, compact Renault diesel saloons, including Megane Renault Sport dCi which will appeal to customers who savour the opportunity to drive a high-performance car… but would appreciate it all the more if they could use it every day without paying too much for the privilege. Drivers of high-performance diesels tend to cover a much higher annual mileage than those in petrol-powered equivalents.

For them, therefore, it is vital to strike a balance between running costs and performance when it comes to choosing a new car. The compact diesel saloon segment is expanding significantly in western Europe.

    Sensational diesel engine

To meet both needs, Renault has fitted its existing top-end 2.0 dCi diesel to the chassis originally developed for Megane Renault Sport 2.0 T. This powerplant develops 175hp at 3,750rpm plus a generous 360Nm of torque at 2,000rpm and, in terms of breadth, its operational power band is comparable with that of a turbocharged petrol engine. The throttle mapping has been modified with a view to optimizing response time.

This engine is packed with advanced technology, including a variable geometry turbocharger which provides a wide spread of torque throughout the rev range. Piezoelectric injectors are capable of operating up to five times per cycle, which helps reduce engine noise, fuel consumption and particulate emissions. Injection pressure has been set at 1,600 bar to optimise combustion and improve the fuel/air mixture. The engine is also equipped with an additive-free periodic regeneration filter, as well as two balancer shafts to keep noise and vibration levels down to a minimum.

Coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, this engine sets new standards in the highperformance diesel sector, with combined cycle fuel economy of 6.5 litres/100km and CO2 emissions of just 172g/km. Thanks to its 60-litre fuel tank, Megane Renault Sport dCi also boasts an unmatched range in the compact diesel saloon segment. Meanwhile, its performance statistics speak for themselves: 0-100kph in just 8.3 seconds and the 1,000m standing start in 29.4s.

    Two proven chassis

Beneath the skin you’ll find the underpinnings of the petrol-powered Megane Renault Sport 2.0 T and the standard Renault Sport chassis blends dynamic handling with the kind of comfort everyday driving demands.

Independent steering-axis front suspension guarantees precise and efficient handling in all circumstances, while body movement is minimized by a 20mm-diameter anti-roll bar. The front suspension has also been tuned to suit Megane Renault Sport dCi’s characteristics and weight distribution. Spring stiffness and damper settings are consequently specific to this diesel version.

The rear suspension is based around a programmed-deflection flexible beam, the torsional stiffness of which is equivalent to that of the Cup chassis version of Megane Renault Sport 2.0 T (80Nm/°). The suspension components themselves are identical to those employed on the

Sport chassis Megane Renault Sport 2.0 T.

A Cup chassis is optionally available. This features an ESP system than can be switched off, as well as specially tuned front and rear dampers and 37% stiffer springs compared with the Sport chassis version. Readily recognisable thanks to its aluminium alloy wheels and anthracite exterior mirrors, this chassis enables committed driving enthusiasts to explore the full potential of this potent Megane diesel.

Powerful and fade-free, the Brembo braking system features four discs that are impressive in terms of both diameter (312mm and ventilated at the front, 300mm at the rear) and thickness (28mm at the front, 11mm at the rear). The front discs are also equipped with four-piston calipers. The alloy wheels run on Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres, either 225/45R17 (for the Confort trim level) or 225/40R18 (Luxe). These were chosen for their renowned qualities of traction and grip.

The electronically variable power steering has been set up specifically to suit the car’s weight distribution.

In terms of active safety, Megane Renault Sport dCi is fitted as standard with a dynamic electronic stability programme (ESP) which has also been set up to suit the car’s particular characteristics. Passive safety features are the same as those on any other Megane – a five4 star performer in EuroNCAP crash tests.

Externally, Megane Renault Sport dCi is identical to the petrol version (without the rear spoiler) and is available in both three- and five-door form. Inside, the mood is distinctly sporting thanks to the aluminium pedals, leather steering wheel and seats with increased lateral support. A range of accessories will also shortly be available to enable Megane Renault Sport dCi owners to customize their vehicle as a function of their individual tastes.

    Dieppe’s sporting know-how

Megane Renault Sport dCi is built on Renault’s Dieppe assembly line, using shells delivered from the company’s Palencia plant, in Spain. The production system has been modified to the particular requirements of this high-performance diesel and quality control standards are a match for the very best. The Dieppe factory oversees production of all sporting models developed by Renault Sport Technologies.
