  • New Toyota RAV4 receives a special recognition!

    2019 Toyota RAV4 Toyota RAV4 has managed to receive accolades at the 2020 Hispanic Motor Press Awards (HMPA) ceremony, held on November 20 during the official opening of the Los Angeles Auto Show, winning the award for the Crossover category.

    HPMA are presented by the Hispanic Motor Press Foundation and recognize the most significant vehicles in the market and, of course, the best in the segment, as they meet the needs and desires of Hispanic families. Foundation’s advisory board selected an independent panel of jurors comprised of Hispanic automotive journalists, bloggers, and industry influencers that were to evaluate over 250 new model machines.

    And as it comes to the winner, new RAV4 is designed to embody a style and persona inspired by brand’s tough trucks, but also to amplify the desirable traits of a crossover: interior comfort, agile handling, a smooth ride and excellent fuel efficiency. New for the 2020 model is the inclusion multimedia capability with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa compatibility.   • Toyota finally reveals details about the second-gen hydrogen Mirai machine

    2021 Toyota MiraiToyota was one of the first brands to introduce a mass-production electric vehicle back in 1997 with the debut of Prius Hybrid. Almost 20 years later, in 2015, the Mirai was unveiled – the first hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle. And as it seems, Toyota team is ready for the next step – presenting a revised version of the Mirai (meaning “future” in Japanese).

    The new futuristic machine is based on brand’s premium rear-wheel drive platform and debuts a dramatic design with tons of interior goodies. Expected to go on sale in late 2020, the vehicle will also feature Toyota’s hydrogen FCEV powertrain technology. Let’s find out more, shall we?

    At its core, Mirai is an electric vehicle, but it doesn’t need to be plugged in in order to charge. The FCEV system generates its own electricity onboard from hydrogen and oxygen, with water as the only emission.

  • 2020 Corolla receives a sexy Nightshade upgrade pack

    2020 Toyota Corolla Nightshade New Toyota Corolla lineup gets a fancy new Nightshade upgrade. These vehicles will be offered as Special Editions and are part of the 2020 model year. The exclusive upgrade can be installed on six models – 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, and Sienna.

    All-new 2020 Corolla was introduced earlier this year with a new grade ideology, revised and sexy exterior, and a driver-focused interior. And now, six months later, the Nightshade Edition adds an additional level of sophistication and technological goodies.

    The set offers a black grille surround with black-painted rocker panels, white black heated power outside mirrors with turn signal indicators, black window trim and black outside door handles. At the rear, there is a black spoiler and a lower diffuser area.

  • Toyota finally announces details for new 2020 Supra lineup!

    2020 Toyota Supra Launch EditionAfter more than 20 years of anticipation, fans can finally purchase the fifth-generation 2020 Toyota GR Supra at dealers worldwide. This all-new machine features exclusive upgrades and changes, along with sexy wrapping and futuristic interior. Let’s find out more, shall we?

    The first 1,500 units will be sold as Launch Edition models. These are based on the 3.0 Premium trim level and each one will be uniquely numbered and will come with exclusive components and tweaks. The Launch Editions can be specified in Absolute Zero White, Nocturnal Black and Renaissance Red.

    Following the Launch Editions, new Supra will be available in 3.0 and 3.0 Premium versions. Both grades come with the same 335hp 3.0-liter power unit and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Furthermore, both models are geared with large infotainment displays, smartphone integration and 12-speaker JBL audio system.

  • Why Only Two Vehicles Earned the 2019 IIHS Top Safety Pick+

    2019-IIHS-Ranks-910Collision avoidance vehicle technology reduces the rates of injury crashes by 21 percent, according to a study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Choosing a vehicle with adequate security features could save your life. But with every carmaker touting the safety features of their vehicle, finding a vehicle that stands out can be a daunting task. The IIHS, one of America’s top authorities on car safety, identifies vehicles with remarkable safety features and honors them with a Top Safety Pick+ Award. For the 2019 model year, although a total of 30 vehicles got the prestigious award, only two are available to ordinary buyers.

    The IIHS and Safety

    A total of 57 vehicles earned the 2019 safety award, with just 30 notching the top 2019 Top Safety Pick+ award. The IIHS uses strict criteria to gauge a vehicle’s safety features. All the 57 vehicles that earned an award passed crashworthiness tests and were required to have superior automatic emergency braking systems. The Top Safety Pick+ honoree must have “good” headlights in addition to the other features required for the Top Safety Pick award. Choosing a vehicle with safety features is a good first step in staying safe on the road. Drivers also need to maintain safe driving habits to reduce the chances of accidents.     2019 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Winners

    The list of 2019 Top Safety Pick+ winners contains a diverse array of vehicles but is it is dominated by vehicles by Japanese and Korean carmakers. In fact, only one vehicle made by a U.S. automaker, the Chrysler Pacifica, made it to the Top Safety Pick list. All seven popular Subaru models made this year’s list as did the Kia Optima, Toyota Camry, Lexus ES, and the Hyundai Elantra. Large vehicles on the list include the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Acura RDX, BMW X3, Toyota Avalon, and Hyundai Santa Fe.

    Identifying the True Winners

    However, mentioning that 30 vehicles made the cut for the Top Safety Pick+ is a bit misleading since IIHS was forced to use vehicle trims with optional upgrades for most of the vehicles on the list to qualify for the award. Most entry-level trims would not get the award mostly because of inferior headlights. An analysis of the 2019 Top Safety Pick+ award winners reveals that only two vehicles earn the award regardless of trim and without the need to buy optional equipment: the Honda Insight and the luxury Genesis G90.

    Safety weighs on many car buyers’ minds when shopping for a vehicle and the IIHS attempts to identify the vehicles that stand out in this department. However, although 30 vehicles received the organization’s prestigious 2019 Top Safety Pick+ award, only two would qualify for the award without buying an expensive trim or fitting optional upgrades. Therefore, although the IIHS safety award can point buyers in the right direction, you should examine the fine print to identify the vehicles that really have the features you want.

    2019 Toyota BestCar Award Toyota has managed to earn double success in the Auto Trader New Car Awards with honors for both C-HR crossover and Hilux pickup.

    The first one, C-HR was named the Best Car for City Drivers, while our all-time favorite Hilux took the title of Best Pickup. As usual, the decision was made by the toughest judges in the format – UK motorists themselves.

    As it comes to C-HR, owners gave their cars the highest marks for the convenience and performance required for around-town driving, while Hilux owners have loved the overall reliable performance and off-road capabilities of the massive Hilux.

  • Overview of new 2020 Yaris Adventure: was it really needed?

    2020 Toyota Yaris Adventure New Toyota Yaris Adventure is about to make its debut at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. Part truck and part sedan, this new family member will fill the void of subcompact pickup segment that has never truly existed. In fact, this is an interesting move from Toyota, given the fact that nobody asked for such a solution. However, we are also open for new ideas and solutions, so here we are, reviewing Toyota’s bold new machine!

    Just like the RAV4 defined the small SUV segment back in 1994, Yaris Adventure would try to change the face of the subcompact pickup segment. The vehicle features a 52.3-inch bed with a payload of 297lbs, perfect for hauling coolers and sets of golf clubs!

    Defining features

    Yaris Adventure comes with a standard 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder power unit that delivers a total of 103hp and 112lb-ft of torque, both being the top of the segment. Furthermore, the vehicle features a 7.6-inch ground clearance and 42.5-inch legroom that are also class-leading goodies.

    Exterior design

    Furthermore, 2020 Yaris Adventure comes with a bold body language. The front-end showcases hexagon lower front grille and sharp-eyed headlamps. The automatic LED headlamps not only ensure bright light when needed, but also fit neatly the aggressive and yet elegant expression of the Yaris Adventure.

    167.2 inches long, Yaris Adventure can fit into parking spaces that otherwise other trucks would pass up. This is a real bonus for urban drivers, even though Yaris Adventure is created to leave town and roads.

  • PRIORDESIGN team announces new exclusive body kit for Toyota Supra

    2019 Prior Design Toyota SupraToyota Supra remains one of the most prominent Japanese sports cars. Especially the fourth generation form the 1990s. However, the new lineup, or more popular as the fifth generation brings some goodies and changes that seem to be well-accepted by brand’s die-hard fans.

    However, there were few that wanted even more. For example, engineers at PRIORDESIGN. The guys have decided to create an exclusive exterior body kit that gives new Supra some more expressive stance and a neat boost of aerodynamic features.

    The concept design provides a good impression of a wide body proportions. There’s a new skirt and a large air itaker for the front-end. Another highlight is the front spoiler lip with side flaps and a new bumper that significantly contributes to the widening of the body at the front. Furthermore, there’s a central air outlet and beefy new expression by the four-piece fender add-ons on the rear axle and rocker panel blade attachments that take up the whole new width. And let’s not forget about the sexy and super-large, fixed spoiler on the trailing edge, which provides the perfect finish to the body language.

    Also available is another package that comes without widening the fenders. It is a high-quality kit that offers glass fiber Duraflex mixture of carbon, which is perfect for the in-house autoclave.
