  • Famous Parts Adss More Distinctiveness To Mercedes-Benz SL500

Famous-Parts-Mercedes-Benz-THUMBMercedes-Benz SL 500 is one of the most stylish cars on Earth and it will never go out of trend. In fact, it is the number one model in the Mercedes-Benz scene for many years. Thanks to its powerful V8 engine it is able to generate 435 hp (320 kW).

In the mean time torque is measured at the staggering 700Nm. This basically means that the SL 500 needs only just 4.6 seconds for the acceleration sprint from 0 to 100 km/h.

The German tuners at Famous Parts have made this conversion on the famous SL500 particularly well. They gave the roadster a complete Prior Design wide body car body kit consisting of front and tail bumper, side sills, a new motor cowl, front mudguards and rear side wall widening.

Furthermore, the kit is complemented and rounded off by a facelift for the outer mirrors, new headlights and a rear spoiler. An in order to get in resonance with the wintter season, Famous Parts applied “white pearl matte metallic” film to the car body.

In addition, the serial ABC-chassis is lowered by an electronic module that also permits manual height adjustment. Type III FPX rims turn in the wheel box: 8.5×20 inch with 255/30R20 at the front and 11×20 inch with 295/25R20 Continental Sport Contact tyres at the rear.

An upgrade has also been applied to the exhaust system. Here we are speaking about the rear section of big brother SL63 AMG that has been attached to the original 500 tubes. As a final touch, Famous Parts painted some car body parts in matte-black and applied a dark film coat on the rear window of the panorama roof to contrast with the white exterior color.

Carlsson has presented their latest tuning project based on the new Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG. The four-door coupe comes with both – styling and performance modifications.

The CLS 63 AMG is powered by a 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 with 557HP (410 kW) at 5,500RPM and 720Nm (533 lb-ft) of torque at 1,750RPM. 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds for the RWD versions and just 3.7 seconds for the 4Matic AWD models. Carlsson boosts the engine to 700HP (515 kW) at 5,700RPM and 1000Nm (741 lb-ft) of torque at 2,000RPM. With the new power, the car accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, to 200 km/h in 11.6 seconds and has a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph).

The CK63 RSR uses a specially developed high performance stainless steel sports exhaust incorporating 200-cell metal catalytic converters to further reduce back-pressure. This exhaust system also incorporates an electronically controlled sound valve, giving the driver the choice of a near standard sound level for civilized progress through urban areas, or a full-on, snarling muscle car V8 experience at the touch of a button.

The suspension comes with bespoke height adjustable coil-overs with 10-position bounce and rebound adjustment to cover road or track use. The car is normally set 30mm lower than standard for road use, and the front track has been widened by 25mm with spacers for better turn-in and stability in the bends.

The elegant and sporty one-piece Carlsson 1/10 alloy wheels come in a choice of 19” or 20” diameters. The brakes are also modified – 405 mm diameter vented discs clamped by 6-pot calipers fitted with their heavy-duty brake pads in front. The rear brakes are standard AMG, with uprated pads

The exterior boasts Carlsson RS carbon-fibre front spoiler lip, black stainless steel mesh inserts in the intake grilles, brake cooling intakes, and rear carbon valance insert. A new feature over the RS version is the electrically retractable rear spoiler, which extends into the airflow automatically at 100km/h, with manual activation possible at any speed. Its size and angle of attack have been wind tunnel tested to reduce lift and drag in combination with the underbody rear diffuser.

The interior features finest leather, Alcantara, carbon-fibre and natural wood, and exemplifies the uncompromising quality of Carlsson’s in-house trim department.  There are also Carlsson interior floor mats, polished aluminium sill plates with blue illuminated Carlsson logo, and aluminium door locking pins.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Carlsson Mercedes-Benz CK35 Enhanced by Overdrive

Carlsson-Mercedes-Benz-CK35-by-Overdrive-THUMBAs a basis for the exceptional Carlsson Mercedes-Benz CK35 served the 2012 ML350 BlueTec model which in general is a very impressive vehicle. However, the tuners from the Bulgarian company Overdrive managed to make it even more exclusive by adding to the Carlsson modification its magical touch.

Basically, what they have done here is to add a magnifier in each headlight. When the latter is in regime “daylight” the magnifiers send out red beam. In addition, the tuning specialists have also mounted LED daylight running lights in the headlights.

Next, the original door handles and the rearview-mirrors were repainted in Black Piano Varnish. On the sunshades was embroidered “Carlsson” and for easier control, to this Mercedes-Benz was added a rear-view camera.

Nevertheless, let’s not forget that all of this is an additional tuning over the original one done by Carlsson. Its exterior package includes the following: addition for the front bumper with two chrome grills, additional headlights for fog and LED daylight running lights mounted in the bumper, central chrome grille with “Carlsson” badge, side doorsteps, addition for the rear bumper with diffusor, end muffler on the exhaust system with two tips.

At last but not least, to the ML350 was added also a power enhancement via ECU Programming performed by Kleemann. After it, the horsepower of this SUV was increased up to 320 (235 lb-ft) in comparison to the original 245 hp (180 lb-ft).
