Mansory Mercedes-Benz SLR Renovatio – Price €219,000

Here is a very interesting offer for tuned Mercedes-Benz SLR. The Mansory SLR Renovatio is now available to buy for no less than €219,000. The car has only 25,000 on the clock and is in mint condition.

The exterior is finished in nice silver paint and features a lot of carbon fiber elements like new front spoiler add-ons, carbon fiber inserts on the front hood, and grills on the front fenders. There is also a new carbon fiber diffuser and a lip spoiler made from the same material. The interior also comes with a number of carbon fiber elements including gear lever, steering wheel and center console moldings.

The engine is not tuned – a 5.4 liter supercharged V8 with 626HP (460 kW) at 6,500RPM and 780Nm (580 lb-ft) of torque at just 3,250RPM. 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of over 322 km/h (200 mph). The engine is connected to an AMG Speedshift R 5-speed automatic transmission with three manual modes.

SLR stands for “Sport Leicht Rennsport” (Sport Light Racing). The manufacturer built only 3,500 units with annual production of just 500 car. So, if you like the legendary SLR and particularly its tuned version by Mansory, the price for this unit is very reasonable.

2014 Mercedes-Benz SL 400 – Price €97,282

Mercedes-Benz has announced the pricing of the all-new 2014 SL 400. The stylish roadster is a successor of SL 350 and comes with an new engine and some other nice technologies. These include aluminium body and chassis as well as a number of premium extras.

The engine is taken from E-Class 400 – a 3.0 liter V6 twin-turbo with 333HP (245 kW) at 5,250RPM and 480Nm (354 lb-ft) at just 1,600RPM. 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). This is 27HP and 110Nm more than its predecessor. The fuel consumption is also improved – 7.3 liters / 100 km on combined cycle (32.2 mpg US or 38.6 mph UK) with CO2 emissions of 172 g/km. The EURO 6 engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox sending the power to the rear wheels.

Like all BlueDIRECT petrol engines the biturbo engine in the new SL 400 also works with a direct injection system with spray-guided combustion, which Mercedes-Benz was the first car manufacturer to offer in series production. The system pressure is up to 200 bar, the pressure being variably optimised according to the engine’s mapping. Piezo injectors enable optimal mixture formation with up to five injections per power stroke. The third-generation direct injection is supplemented by rapid multi-spark ignition, MSI.

2014 Mercedes-Benz SL 400 is priced from €97,282 (including 19% VAT).

Mercedes SL 65 AMG Black Series vs Ferrari 458 Italia [video]

Dragtimesinfo has published an interesting drag race video with Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG R230 Black Series (stock) going against Ferrari 458 Italia (stock) and a tuned Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG Gorilla Racing with 700HP.

The SL 65 is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 Bi-Turbo with 670HP (493 kW) at 5,400RPM and 1,000Nm (740 lb-ft) of torque at 2,200RPM. 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 10.9 seconds and ¼ mile in 11.6 seconds with 202 km/h (126 mph).

Ferrari 458 Italia has a 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 – 570HP (419 kW) at 9,000RPM and 540Nm (399 lb-ft) at 6,000RPM. This means the incredible 127 HP/liter. The curb weight is 1,380kg, so it has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.42 kg/hp. 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).

The first start was between the 458 Italia and the SL 65 AMG. It was really intense and both cars were neck in neck during the whole 1 mile run. Still, the 458 Italia managed to win the race with 29.267 seconds with 283.7 km/h, while the SL 65 AMG needed 29.630 seconds with 295 km/h terminal speed. The ¼ mile times are 11.854 seconds and 12.074 seconds, respectively.

The second start is between the SL 65 AMG and the ML 63 AMG Gorilla Racing. Of course, the Roadster humiliated the big SUV. The SL 65 AMG crossed the finish line in 28.996 seconds with 298 km/h (which is more than enough to beat the Ferrari) and the ML 63 AMG in 30.142 seconds with 269 km/h.

Sievers Tuning has unveiled their latest project based on one the five units ever built of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45^th Anniversary Edition. It has been given a new exterior look including new paint scheme, some black graphics, including a Batman logo on the rear wing’s sides and also on the rear bumper.2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45^th Anniversary Edition is powered by the well-known 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 with 591HP (435 kW) at 6,800RPM and 650Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque at 4,750RPM. The engine is connected to a 7-speed AMG Speedshift DCT sport transmission sending the power to the rear wheels. 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). ¼ mile is covered in 11.1 seconds with a terminal speed of 212 km/h (132 mph).The price of SLS AMG GT3 45^th Anniversary Edition is €446,250. It comes with carbon fiber reinforced plastic doors, boot lid, front hood, mud guards, front and rear aprons. Other elements from CFRP are the rear wings, rear diffuser and front splitter.The interior boasts a rollcage, center console and dashboard with similar matt carbon fiber appearance.Mercedes-Benz SLS is expected to be retired in the next few months. It won’t get a direct replacement, instead the new model by the premium German manufacturer is going to be smaller and lighter and a lot less expensive.

Brabus Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG – 400HP and 500Nm

Brabus has presented their latest project based on the ultra-hot hatchback Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. It comes with both styling and performance upgrades.

The exterior features a complete aerodynamics package including new front and rear bumpers, a new diffuser together with a rear wing and Brabus two-tone monoblock alloy wheels. Other upgrades include suspension modifications and big brake system.

The 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is boosted to 400HP (294 kW) and 500Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque – an increase of 40HP and 50Nm. 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, which is 0.2s quicker than the standard car. The top speed is 270 km/h (168 mph).

The interior features some carbon fiber elements, new leather upholstery and a sports steering wheel.

The German tuning company has already presented the CLA 45 AMG and probably they are planning similar upgrades for the performance crossover – GLA 45 AMG

RevoZport Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class

RevoZport has introduced their latest tuning program for Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class. The tuning company is offering styling and performance upgrades for all models in the range including CLA 180,200,250,260 and AMG CLA45.

The exterior can be fitted with one of three different kinds of trunk spoilers: RZA Ducklip Trunk Spoiler, RZA GT Spoiler and RZA Carbon Trunk with Integrated Hydraulic Spoiler. There is also a new carbon fiber front splitter, carbon fiber canards and a ventilated front hood. Last, but not least is the sporty rear diffuser,

2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class – Off-Road Debut [video]

Mercedes-Benz has published a nice photo session and video with the all-new 2014 GLA-Class doing some off-road. The crossover comes with 4MATIC all-wheel drive system providing superb traction in all conditions.

Combining the unique suspension setup of the new GLA which aims to strike a balance between on- and off-road demands and the traction afforded by 4MATIC, the car thrived in the challenging conditions within the mine – its traction systems coping with the broken terrain and salt road tunnels with ease. The Intelligent Light System (ILS) fitted to the cars meant the eight-metre high tunnels (most of which are completely dark) were lit up spectacularly.

The GLA was driven in the empty spaces left behind by the mining of salt – spaces now being filled by a thriving DeepStore document storage business. Organisations such as the National Archives now store millions of physical files deep below the ground in a secure and extremely dry environment – the mine naturally remains at a constant 14 degrees – making it ideal for such purposes.

2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA is now available on the market with pricing starting from £25,080 OTR for the GLA 200 CDI.

2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Edition 1

Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the C-Class Edition 1, which is expected to hit the market next month.

The Edition 1 builds on Avantgarde trim level and comes with “Edition 1” badges on the fenders, a set of 19” multi-spoke alloy wheels or optional 19” five twin-spoke rims finished in Himalaya gray. There is a huge choice of body colors including – black, polar white, palladium silver, obsidian black, diamond silver, iridium silver, tenoritgrau and designo diamond white bright.

The interior comes with black Nappa leather upholstery for the center console, seats and steering wheel combined with a fabric black roof lining and designo velour floor mats. There are also illuminated sill plates, an AMG Line multi-function three-spoke sports steering wheel and heated front seats.

Mercedes-Benz CLK Black Series C209 – Drift and Donuts [video]

DLMphotos has published a nice video of Mercedes-Benz CLK Black Series (C209) doing some donuts and drifts in a desert. The powerful sports coupe features wide body kit, extreme naturally aspirated engine and a brutal noise.

The engine is a 6.2 liter V8 with 507HP (373 kW) and 630Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) – electronically limited.

Other features include removed rear seats, an upgraded rear axle, and a fully adjustable suspension system.

Posaidon Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG – 445HP and 535Nm

Posaidon has given some additional punch to the most powerful production turbocharged engine, which powers the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG. As you know, it boasts an impressive 180HP / liter displacement, which is currently best in the world.

However, the tuning company – Posaidon boosts the 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine to 385HP (283 kW) and 485Nm (357 lb-ft) in Stage I. The Stage II offers 405HP (298 kW) and 490Nm (361 lb-ft), while the Stage III offers whopping 445HP (327 kW) and 535Nm (394 lb-ft) of torque, which means the sensational 222.5HP / liter.

Posaidon will also offer a complete sports exhaust system made of high grade stainless steel. It will be optionally available with or without valve control and including TÜV licensing.

The tuning company plans to offer performance packages for other AMG models as well.

2015 Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Coupe – Full Details

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the all-new 2015 S 63 AMG Coupe. The super-luxurious sports coupe comes with all S-Class extras, extremely powerful engine and sensational exterior and interior styling.

The exterior boasts an aggressive body kit including restyled front and rear bumpers, bigger vents, modified side skirts and a quad exhaust arrangement with chromed tailpipes housed by a gloss black diffuser. Other highlights include a set of 8.5J x 19” at the front and 9.5J x 19” at the rear titanium grey multi-spoke AMG forged light alloy wheels fitted with 255/45 R19 and 285/40 R19 tires, respectively.

The engine is the well-known 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 – 585HP (430 kW) and 900Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque – a 41 HP and 100Nm more than the previous CL 63 AMG. The S63 AMG Coupe is also 65 kg (143 lbs) lighter compared to its predecessor and offers a power-to-weight ratio of 3.41 kg/HP. 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – electronically limited. The 4MATIC cuts the acceleration time to 3.9 seconds. As usual, the engine is coupled to a seven-speed sports gearbox with three modes: “C” (Controlled Efficiency), “S” (Sport) and “M” (Manual).

The interior screams: “luxury, quality and sporty exclusivity”. High-quality materials and fine workmanship are combined with a sporty, exclusive design idiom. The newly developed AMG sports seats with electrical adjustment, memory function and seat heating offer the driver and front passenger optimum lateral support. Fine nappa leather in AMG V8 design with piping and AMG badges on all four seat backrests together with the embossed AMG emblem on the armrest of the front centre console create an exquisite atmosphere on board. There is a new three-spoke AMG sports steering wheel, an AMG logo in the lower metal insert, new aluminium shift paddles and high-resolution TFT colour display as an AMG instrument cluster with two animated round dials.

Other exclusive features include AIRMATIC air suspension and MAGIC BODY CONTROL as well as carbon ceramic composite brakes and 20” ten-spoke AMG Performance Studio wheels.

There will be an Edition 1 version with Swarovski crystals in the LED headlights, AMG sport seats wrapped in Exclusive Nappa leather, bespoke floor mats, illuminated AMG lettering on the door sill panels, Night View Assist Plus, a high-gloss black wood trim and other upgrades.

1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL AMG

RM Auctions will sale a super-rare 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL AMG. The Gullwing will be auctioned the beginning of May in Monaco. There are totally eleven 300 SL AMG cars – 8 Gullwings and 3 Roadsters.

The 1954 Mercedes 300 SL AMG is powered by a V8 6.0 liter engine with 380HP (283 kW) and 578Nm (427 lb-ft) of torque, instead of the original straight-six. Other upgrade include a five-link arrangement together with Bilstein shock absorbers and a set of AMG alloy wheels. There is also a 4-speed automatic transmission, disc brakes and power steering.

The interior boasts Nappa leather upholstery and an Alcantara trim. AMG also installed a HWA steering wheel and a lot of carbon fiber elements as well as a Sony CD changer. Last, but not least is the electronic display replacing the original 300 SL instruments.
