  • SGA Aerodynamics Customizes Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

SGA-Aerodynamics-Mercedes-Benz-SLS-AMG-THUMBSGA Aerodynamics Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a wide-body gull-wing beast that immediately catches the attention. The car is based on the famous Black Series but now is taken further with the added body kit and other enhancements. The visual appearance of the car was completely redesigned and intensified with wider jaws, air inlets and outlets as well as carbon flaps.

At the front the tuners have added a double-layer spoiler which is deeply draw down and framed in carbon-fiber flaps. In addition, as one can see, the engine hood is also entirely new and is equipped with the typical air outlet.

On the sides, SGA Aerodynamics gave this Mercedes-Benz broader side skirts with air inlets and framed them in massive mudguards. The front mudguards carry extensive applications of carbon fiber, while the fuel tank cover is modeled into the rear enlargements.

At the rear, there is a protruding rear valance with lateral gills on the rear. A large double-layer – diffusor is also present. It was made of carbon fiber and keeps the original Black Series exhaust pipe ends. At last, an adjustable carbon rear wing rounds-out the new look of this SLS AMG.

The car is finished in diamond-white paint, which perfectly highlights the carbon fiber components. This Black Series runs on special MAE forged rims, called “forged rotor“. Through its turbine optics, the three-part wheel has a directional running pattern and stands out for its chromium-plated beddings. The size of the wheels at the front is 10.5 x 20 and the tires are of size 265/30. At the rear we see even bigger wheels of the dimensions of 12 x 21 inches fitted with 325/25 tires.

Mercedes-Benz US has announced the 2014 CLA 250 model. It comes with a powerful turbocharged engine and double-clutch transmission. The model will be also available with 4MATIC all-wheel drive system as an option.

“The response to the Concept Style Coupe was overwhelming. The most frequent comment by far was ‘Please put this car into series production.’ That’s precisely what we are doing now,” commented Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management for Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

“The CLA is a car that does not confuse ‘mid-size’ with ‘mid-quality’. Its sporty design underscores the sporty side of the Mercedes-Benz brand.”, he added.

The engine in CLA 250 model is a 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol with 211HP (155 kW) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission. It comes with the ECO stop/start function as standard for added gas mileage.

This radar-based assistance system provides the driver with visual and acoustic warnings of identified obstacles and primes Brake Assist for adaptive braking. When the system identifies a risk of collision, Collision Prevention Assist calculates the precise braking force ideally needed to avoid an accident.

  • Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV In Details

Mercedes-Benz-Concept-Coupe-SUV-THUMBMercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV was unveiled in the beginning of the month with a first picture and some details. Now, the German company is releasing a package of images as well as detailed information around this extremely sporty study concept. At first glance, the SUV impresses as a typical coupe with its flowing sideline, stretched cabin and striking radiator grille with central chrome louvre. At the same time, it stands out with its muscular wings, large wheel arches, 22-inch wheels, high beltline and generous ground clearance. Not to mention its dynamic handling on the road.

The four-door, all-wheel drive Coupe has a length of almost five metres, while its width is of two metres thanks to its broad shoulders and flared wheel arches. However, the height is around 1.75 metres, thus exhibiting the flat, extended roofline that is typical of a sports coupe. The concept sports recessed door handles and frameless side windows that blend perfectly into the vehicle flanks.

Mercedes Benz’ new concept SUV is painted in the “Alu Beam” paint finish, which is also reminiscent of the technically ground-breaking Silver Arrows of the 1930s and 1950s. Other highlights include upright sports grille with single louvre, framed by the three-dimensionally designed all-LED Multibeam headlamps.

Soft cubes dominate the grille insert. Harmoniously integrated illuminated side sills are reminiscent of the running boards found on classic SUVs or off-roaders. The direction indicators work with a moving digital light band whose lighting elements light up sequentially from inside to outside. In this way they indicate the change in direction in two ways.

The coupe nature of this concept SUV can be seen also in the design of the rear end with the slim band of rear lights and the registration plate incorporated into the rear bumper. Another feature is the typical shape of the rear window, which is rounded off at the top.

The tailpipes of the dual-flow exhaust system are integrated into the simulated underguard. Polished aluminium dominates here, as on the integral door handles, the side sills, the front air intakes and the edging of the cabin. At last, Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV runs on wide 22-inch wheels with tyres in size 305/45 R 22.

  • Mercedes-Benz Teases New AMG GT

Mercedes-Benz-AMG-GT-THUMBMercedes-Benz AMG GT sports car is to thrill us this autumn when it is set to make its world premiere. The brand new vehicle will feature breath-taking design and supreme agility –qualities typacially found on the AMG GT. Furthermore, form Mercedes-Benz announced that the car is destined for a new segment. We don’t have any visuals of the exterior yet, but the company has released two images of the exclusive interior, which is adorned by red and black leather, carbon fiber and a range of new technologies.

The designers have put mainly their attention on the driving dynamics, agility and sportiness of the car. In fact, the new GT is the second sports car developed fully independently by Mercedes-AMG.

The sneak preview of the interior provides a good impression of what we are to expect. Inside, car’s design embodies emotion and sensuality. The uncompromising lines of the interior components define the concept of “modern luxury”.

The biggest impression however, makes the stylistic development of the central “aviation design” theme. The dashboard is wide and creates impression of a powerful wing. This design treatment is supported by the four central spotlight-style vents and the individual vents at the left and right ends of the dashboard.

The dominant centre console has a shape reminiscent of a NACA air intake and the employed materials suggest that it has been adopted directly from motor racing. The controls on the AMG DRIVE UNIT are arranged like eight cylinders in a V layout. All in all, the finest materials and outstanding workmanship contribute to the typical Mercedes luxury.
