  • BRABUS Announces Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4² Project for Frankfurt

BRABUS Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4² Front ViewBRABUS Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4² is going to be revealed tomorrow at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It will be shown at BRABUS stand next to the recently announced custom Mercedes-AMG GT S. Just like the AMG GT S, the G 500 features similar improvements: power uprating and various improvements to the exterior and interior. Let’s see what has happened here.

Engine Uprating via BRABUS B40 – 500 PowerXtra Performance Kit

Mercedes G 500 4×4² is typically driven by the four-liter eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine. Without any modifications it produces 422 hp (310 kW) and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft) of optimum torque. The tuners decided to apply the BRABUS B40 – 500 PowerXtra performance kit onto the powerful V8, thus giving it an addition of 78 hp (58 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft).

SEE ALSO: BRABUS Releases a Classy Styling and Performance Update for Mercedes-AMG GT S

The result is spectacular, and before you calculate it yourself, I will tell you that it is 500 hp (368 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 710 Nm (523 lb-ft) of torque available between 2,250 and 4,250 rpm. Another great result of this tuning is that the performance optimization also gives the Mercedes the capabilities to sprint from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.9 seconds. The top speed of the SUV is limited electronically to 210 km/h (130 mph).

    Powerful BRABUS-Inspired Exterior

    BRABUS Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4² Rear View

The additional horsepower and torque demand the use of better exhaust. For this purpose, BRABUS installed their stainless-steel sports exhaust system with actively controlled butterfly valves, which control the level of the sound. In addition, the exhaust also features dual chrome tailpipes on each side of the vehicle, thus creating imposing stance. At the rear we also see a brand new bumper as well as mirror-polished underride guard.

The front looks as sophisticated as the rear. There we see new bumper panels on the left and right as well as a mirror-polished underride guard. There is an additional panel under the special radiator grille with integrated BRABUS logo. By the way, the hood scoop, the new radiator grille and headlamp surrounds are all made from carbon fiber.

Furthermore, the front bumper panels include LED lights with chrome surrounds, while the black-tinted BRABUS xenon headlamps and daytime running lights with integrated turn signal function are even more dominating features. Carbon fit covers replace the production turn signals on top of the fenders.

At last, the sides have been upgraded via underfloor lighting for the running boards. They are activated by pulling on a door handle or by operating the keyless-entry remote.

    Interior Highlights

    BRABUS Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4² Interior

The interior was also included in the plans for optimization. BRABUS Mercedes G 500 4×4² features an upholstery made of the finest black Mastik leather with arrow-shaped quilting. The red seams add an intriguing contrast. Alcantara is also to be found in the cabin, precisely on the headliner plus other components in the interior.

The carbon inlays adds even more striking highlight, while the stainless-steel scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo welcome the passengers. And if someone finds that getting out or in the vehicle difficult, then BRABUS have created special power-retractable steps. At last, the tuning of the cabin is rounded out by the aluminum pedals and door pins.

  • BRABUS Releases a Classy Styling and Performance Update for Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S Side ViewBRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S is a very special car, which we will see debuting at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The experts have changed the sports-car thoroughly and have included a significant boost for the AMG engine, some exterior tweaks and more cozy and luxury imbibed cabin.

Generally the custom BRABUS vehicles are more likely to be ‘over-tuned’ and with very rugged and pompous styling. This isn’t the case with this Mercedes-AMG GT S. The exterior of the sports car has been moderately modified and the sense of style and classiness has been kept. Follow my thoughts and you’ll know why.

    Reasonable Engine Boost?

    BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S Engine

The AMG GT S has its capabilities when it comes to performance. So the question here is whether an engine boost is necessary. There will be always opinions on both positions, but BRABUS experts have been obviously chosen the side where one could never have enough power… especially when it comes to a sports car.

    SEE ALSO: BRABUS Reveals 900HP Mercedes-Maybach S500

This is the reason they have developed the PowerXtra B40 – 600 performance kit. By the way this optimization comes only for the eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine of the GT S. As a result, it gives the enfine an additional 90 hp (66 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque.

In other words, after the upgrade, the GT S is capable of putting out 600 hp (441 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) at 4,800 rpm. The acceleration time has been rated 3.6 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint, while the top speed has been unleashed from 310 to 325 km/h (190 to 201 mph).

    Classiness for the Exterior

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S Rear and Side View

BRABUS quad sports exhaust made from lightweight titanium with four tailpipes made from a combination of titanium and carbon is the perfect compliment for the engine tuning. The special thing about this exhaust is that it has been fitted with electronically controlled butterfly valves operated from the cockpit, thus giving the driver the choice of selecting the level of sound he or she is creating.

Carbon fiber, usually used in the Formula 1 racing, has been chosen for all bodywork components. Starting with the front, we see a front bumper which has been visually upgraded with BRABUS front spoiler. In addition, two covers for the side air intakes of the bumper lend the two-seater even more striking face. They also optimize the routing of cooling air. Integrated LED side markers optimize active safety.

At the sides, the experts added new air outlets for the front fenders, BRABUS logotypes and rocker panels. They lend the car lower and sleeker visual stance and also optimize the airflow between the front and rear wheel arches.

Going to the rear, we can’t argue that it isn’t athletic. The in-house made rear airfoil and diffuser with tailor-made cutouts for the four tailpipes of the exhaust system, contribute to optimized handling stability at high speeds.

Furthermore, BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S rides on custom wheels with 20-inches of size on the front axle and 21-inches – on the rear. The alloys are called Monoblock F “PLATINUM EDITION” and come coupled with tires of sizes 275/30 ZR 20 and 305/25 ZR 21 for the front and rear, respectively. At last, the new ‘shoes’ of the car demanded new sports springs that has been specifically tailored to the low profile tires. They lower the ride height of the GT S by about 15 millimeters.

    BRABUS for the Interior

    BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S Interior

Inside we see a BRABUS interior with exclusive accessories like the carbon scuff plates with stainless-steel inserts and a backlit BRABUS logo as well as chrome-plated aluminum pedals and aluminum paddle shifters in more ergonomic position on the steering wheel. The seats got premium fine leather upholstery, while the inlays were made from real carbon. There is also a wood upgrade the cockpit of the two-door car.

In conclusion, I must say that while I haven’t seen such a stylish upgrade by BRABUS. Well done guys!

MANSORY Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Edition Rear ViewThe carbon-body was painted in pearl grey matt paint, which in my opinion looks very exuberating. But what does the pack add? MANSORY added air control blades on the front and rear axle in order to ensure that there is more downforce and optimized cooling for the drivetrain and brakes. It is obvious that there are new side skirts and fenders as well as a rear-wing.22-inch wheels always come in play, especially when the horses are 1000. • Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Finally Revealed!

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Front ViewMercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is finally revealed! At least in pictures. It will have an official premiere at the Frankfurt International Motor Show this September. Elegantly and sporty, the new cabrio is actually the first open-top variant of the S-Class since 1971 and the sixth generation of the S-Class family.

Next to its exclusive design and luxurious surfaces throughout the interior, the new S-Class also features cutting-edge technology like the comprehensive warmth and wind protection concept that features intelligent climate control for convertibles.

    Engine Range

The V8 engine driving the S500 Cabrio produces 455 hp (335 kW) and peak torque of 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) of torque. The innovative 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission supports both a dynamic and a fuel-saving driving style.

SEE ALSO: Mercedes-Benz Announces New S-Class Cabriolet. To be Revealed in Frankfurt

If you happen to be at the show you will be also pleased to see the Mercedes‑AMG variant of the S63 4MATIC Cabriolet. It will mesmerize you with its 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine and no less than 585 horsepower (430 kW) and peak torque of 900 Nm (665 lb-ft).

    Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Two Variants

There is more to that, ant it is the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque split which is featured as a standard. And have I mentioned that the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h happens in 3.9 seconds. Well, that’s a pretty good number for a convertible, isn’t it?

The S-Class Cabriolet is also extremely rigid due to the utilization of some innovative solutions like the luggage compartment bulkhead made of aluminium and magnesium as well as the aluminium rear floor. What is more, behind the rear head restraints there is a standard-fit roll-over protection system that includes pyrotechnic initiation of the actuators. The roll bars themselves are moved into position by a gas generator.

    Why Climate Comfort is Important?

    Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Red Interior

Mercedes-Benz has told us recently that has aims of building the most comfortable convertible in the world. So, this surely has to do with the climate comfort, too. First, the car includes an improved automatic wind protection system called AIRCAP. There is also AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, heated armrests and seat heating in the rear plus the intelligent climate control. They all contribute for the significantly enhanced comfort.

The climate is of course controlled entirely automatically. But what does this mean? First of all, the driver does not need to select a mode for closed or open top, and secondly they do not have to save a temperature setting for the specific driving conditions.

Well, we can’t wait to see it live in Frankfurt. How about you? And don’t forget to check out the huge gallery below!

  • VÄTH Has a Power Package for Open-Top Mercedes-Benz E500

VÄTH Mercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet Side View Puls Front ViewMercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet has just received a special treatment by the specialists at VÄTH. The so called power package has been specifically created for the open-top German vehicle. The black E500 Cabrio also got interesting exterior modifications as well as some goodies for its interior.

Is This Really a Power Package?

     VÄTH Mercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet - Engine

The answer is definitely “YES”, since this car has been taken out from its stock configuration. The first thing we should praise is the top speed extension, thanks to which the car now reaches and even goes beyond 300km/h.

SEE ALSO: More Powerful Mercedes S500 But More Efficient, is it Possible?

Thanks to the V50RS tuning-kit that made possible the fine-tuning of engine electronics, the in-house charge-air cooling system and VÄTH’s rear silencer system, the V8 under the hood can now show some envious power. Instead of its stock horses and Newton meters, it now generates more than 550 hp (404 kW) as well as 830 Nm of maximum torque.

    Other Goodies

VÄTH Mercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet Rear View

Some might think that the other goodies account for better looks. However, we have to assure you that they also contribute for much better driving experience. After all, VÄTH has just improved the horsepower of the V8!

First, the rear silencer system was made of VA-stainless steel and features flap control system and two oval tailpipes in 115 x 85 mm on both sides. Flanged edge tailpipes, rear diffuser of carbon with fins and larger underbody were also installed.

The Mercedes on the pictures seems a little bit lowered and this is due to the 30 mm lowering carried out by set of springs. The braking system is also different from the stock one: here we have VA 6-piston brake callipers with high-efficiency coating, which bite into potted 390-mm-brake discs and brake fluid Castrol SFR.

    Wheels & Tires

VÄTH Mercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet Front View

The new brake system couldn’t go without new wheels and tires combination. The added rims come in size of 8.5×20-inch and are fitted with tyres in 235/30R20. This counts only for the front. At the rear, the E-class got 10×20-inch alloys with 275/25R20 rubbers.

At last, rounding out this unique tuning are the trunk lip spoiler made of carbon fibre as well many accessories for the interior like the sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals.

  • Mercedes-Benz Announces New S-Class Cabriolet. To be Revealed in Frankfurt

2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Rear View Plus Interior ViewMercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is going to be one of the main stars at Mercedes’ stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The open-top car is going to be revealed in its newest form. In addition, by revealing the picture above, the German brand is creating a strong anticipation. It is clearly visible that the cabin of the cabrio is luxurious but has also kept the classic appeal of the first S-Class Cabriolet.

By the way, the first ever open-top S-Class was built through a 10-year long period: from the period 1961 to 1971. With its unmistakable and stylish design, high-quality materials and exclusive luxurious appearance inside and out, it made a furor among Mercedes fans.

The latest S-Class cabrio is built around the same characteristics, even though 44 years have already passed. What is more, with this car Mercedes promises to create the most comfortable cabriolet in the world.

Mercedes didn’t say much about the new vehicle they are going to introduce. The only information revealed is about the climate comfort. It will be improved through various means: automatic wind protection system AIRCAP, AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, heated armrests, seat heating in the rear and the intelligent fully automatic climate control.

    A Touch of History

    1961 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Front View

Through this ten-year production period Mercedes-Benz offered five different models in these model series: the 220 SE, 250 SE, 300 SE (W 112), 280 SE and the eight-cylinder 280 SE 3.5. There are exactly 7013 units of these five cabriolets manufactured.

So this basically means that these cabrios are one of the most sought-after classic cars nowadays. An interesting fact is that in its estimation a 280 SE 3.5 from 1971, in condition 2 today has a value of around $290,000 USD. Ten years ago this price was estimated $115,000 USD. But if you have this model and have kept it in perfect condition, this means that you can auction it for up to $429,000USD. Such car was sold last August by RM Auctions for this amount of money.

Another example is the last six-cylinder 280 SE model, which was produced back in 1969. In an excellent condition this model could be sold for at least $75,000USD, while ten years ago the pricing was $45,000USD. Early 220 SE models are estimated around $84,000 USD.

Anyway, we are impatiently looking for the reveal of the latest S-Class Cabriolet, aren’t we?

  • Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz and Their Attractive Sub-brands

It has become common place over the decades for manufacturers to entertain a certain sector of the market with high performance versions of their most popular models – or even one-off specials – and while most are well received, some marques stand out among the rest.

The big three German manufacturers of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz all arguably have the most attractive sub-brands – RS, M and AMG – appeasing those with a need for speed, great handling and a far more visceral experience from that of their standard models. Examples from the RS, M and AMG departments bring immediate appeal, thanks to their enhanced appearances, exciting aural offerings and their ability to reach the horizon in mere seconds.

A massive advantage for the trio’s more sporting models is the fact that their donor cars were never sluggish or of low quality to start with and on their own offer premium finishes and an overall sorted package, a combination that is even still evident in the second-hand market today.

To celebrate these manufacturers’ ability to bring such majestic and exhilarating models to the fore, here’s a run down of possibly the best examples from each sub brand. Don’t agree with the choices? Let us know your favourite RS, M and AMG models in the comments below.

    Audi RS2

    Audi RS2

For Audi, the RS2 was genesis for the RS program and a project that was to become one of its most iconic cars in the line-up. The RS2 was a joint venture between Audi and compatriots Porsche, resulting in one of the most technologically advanced cars built with an Audi badge on the front at that time.

The compact estate car was built on Audi’s 80 Avant structure, but saw many additions and new parts to make it a superbly fast car; even by today’s numbers, the RS2 could give a Porsche Cayman a run for its money. Under the bonnet was a much modified version of Audi’s 2.2-litre inline five-cylinder turbocharged powertrain, serving up 311bhp; good enough for a 0-62mph sprint of just 4.8sec. One of the most famous stats for the RS2 was that its 0-30mph sprint time (1.5sec) was faster than that of a McLaren F1, as found out by Autocar.

This power was put through a highly effective Quattro four-wheel-drive system that led that way for future RS models, especially its successor the RS4. Admittedly, the RS2 wasn’t the best handling car in the world, thanks to the occasionally violent turbo and fairly steep understeer. However, it had a bucket load of character and to this day is an incredibly difficult car to get hold of, with the odd example with over 100,000 miles on the clock selling for around the £20,000 mark.

    BMW M3 CSL

    Black BMW M3 CSL E46

Now to BMW’s Motorsport division and a car that many revere as one of the all-time best M3 variants, the CSL. Standing for Coupe Sport Lightweight, the CSL was a raw and highly focused version of the E46 M3 and since its short production time in 2004 has become a modern classic.

An element that ensured the CSL would differ from the ‘standard’ M3 was its loss of 110kg, with many weight-saving applications helping to accomplish this diet, some of which coming straight from its then Formula 1 team. Firstly, a large proportion of the car’s sound deadening was removed, before its electrical architecture was stripped, meaning creature comforts such as electric seats and satellite navigation were taken out, while air con was not standard but could be fitted at no extra cost.

Add to this a carbon roof to bring down the centre of gravity, an extra 17bhp in that straight-six engine and a viciously fast semi-auto SMG gearbox, you’ve got yourself a fairly aggressive package; even more so when you press that all-important ‘M’ button on the steering wheel. A 50:50 weight distribution and this loss of weight also resulted in incredibly accurate handling dynamics, while a tighter steering ratio also did its part to increase the car’s responsive attitude.

    Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG

    Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM Cabriolet

When manufacturers create road-going versions of their race cars, you know you’re likely to be in for a treat, and with Mercedes CLK DTM AMG it was no different. Here was a fettled version of the CLK55 AMG coupled with inspiration from the German Touring Car championship, with just 100 coupes and 80 cabriolet versions released.

Mercedes used its supercharged 5.4-litre naturally-aspirated V8 for the CLK DTM AMG and upped the power to a massive 582bhp, good for a 0-62mph run of a mere 3.8sec. To give it a more aggressive stance, the track was widened at both the front and rear, while special tyres and suspension modifications were required to keep the car from destroying itself and allow it to take it to a 200mph top speed.

The CLK DTM AMG has since become a bit of a ‘Unicorn’ car and a great investment, with prices commanding various premiums for low mileage examples over the original £180,000 asking price. It was even a car that got many racing drivers’ attention; the likes of Jenson Button, Kimi Raikkonen and Mikka Hakkinen all at some point owned examples of the car, including the cabriolet.

But the work on the car did not end here. The chassis optimization was made by means of 3 KW-coilover suspension and a great wheel & tire combination. Brabus Monoblock F alloys in 8,5×19-inch size were fitted with Pirelli P-Zero tires in the dimension of 235/35R19.

    Tweaked Engine

Improved performance is attributed to the experts at PP-Performance. They have done many things for the A45 AMG among which are the chip tuning, race filters, Catless kit and sports exhaust system. As a result, the serial 360 hp (265 kW) have been boosted up to the merciless 435 hp (320 kW). And that’s what we call a pretty nice way to round out a tuning!

  • 2017 AMG C63 Coupe Will Fight For the Sportiest C-Class Model Prize

2017 AMG C63 Coupe2017 AMG C63 Coupe is finally here and it has a lot to demonstrate. One of the world’s most distinctive vehicles strikes with the well-known high-end features and some additional goodies. And with the touches here and there by the AMG crew the 2017 C-Class is ready to rule over the streets.

Brand’s latest creation will celebrate its world premiere on September 15, 2015 at the Frankfurt International Motor Show and will be available for purchase in ne summer of 2016. In fact, we do expect that this model will bring vast media and customer attention. And no wonder: geared with the AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, producing a total of 469 hp (344 kW) in standard trim or 503 hp (369 kW) with the C63 S pack and with some exclusive engineering wonders this vehicle surely will set new benchmark for all other hi-end sport vehicles.

    Exterior

The Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe fascinates with proportions. The vehicle comes with exterior design noticeably different from  the C-Class Coupe model. As you can see, the vehicle comes with increased track width and redesigned front and rear fenders along with wide wheel arches. All these changes contribute to the sportier and more aggressive stance of the vehicle. After all, we are talking about the sportiest C-Class up to date, aren’t we?

Furthermore, the front strikes with low arrow-shaped twin blade grille and A-wing front spoilers, while all the lines and contours contribute to that stylish and elegant look. The sides of the Coupe demonstrate some unique profile, that is further accented by the large wheels.

The back of the vehicle is completely restyled and now includes a diffuser insert and two chrome-plated twin tailpipes. The optical air outlet openings serve not only as an elegance booster, but also improves the air flow, allowing it to have some enhanced aerodynamic features. And the sharp blade not only contributes the nice looks but also noticeably reduces the rear-axle lift.

    Interior

    2017 AMG C63 Coupe

2017 C63 Coupe’s cabin welcomes every willing and brave man to a place of high quality materials and pleasant to touch components. There are numerous AMG controls and buttons and of course the vehicle is geared with sports seats, but if there is someone still unsatisfied, the vehicle could be ordered with special Performance seats.

    Performance

The vehicle, which is the only one in the segment to be geared with an 8-cylinder biturbo engine completes the 0 to 100 km (0 to 62 mph) sprint in just 3.8 seconds  for the C63 S Coupe and 3.9 for the C63 Coupe model.  And with this impressive start the C63 Coupe has a top speed of 279 km/h (155 mph) and the C63 Coupe S is a bit faster: 324 km/h (180 mph).

As you might know, the 4.0-liter 8-cylinder engine has already been proven in the C63 Sedan and in the AMG GT S vehicle. What is so special about the unit is that it features two turbochargers that form the so called “hot inside V”. This contributes for some compact construction, improved response and lowered exhaust gas emissions.

AMG also contributed to some gearshift improvements. The special AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sport transmission system comes with tailor-made dynamics and high flexibility. Whether the driver prefers the automatic or manual variant, he will instantly tell the difference from older models: the shifts are executed faster and smoother.

But the engine and the gearbox are not the only one that make the 2017 C63 Coupe so flexible. The vehicle also comes with redesigned suspension system. A four-link front suspension with racing-style brake connections allow greater acceleration, while the rear axle contributes for more precise wheel control and increased stiffness. Further measures include AMG-specific wheel carriers, stiffer elastokinematic tuning and higher negative camber.

Furthermore, the C63 S offers and even more precise control via the 3-stage ESP with “ESP ON”, “ESP SPORT Handling Mode” and “ESP OFF”. There is really something for someone.

And there is one more goodie. The C63 S Coupe is equipped with dynamic engine mounts that help for further resolve conflicting aims of comfort and performance. Nice, huh?

    Safety

And with all this on board, the latest Mercedes-Benz vehicle also needs some safety measures. First of all the vehicle is geared with ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection system and COLLISION PREVENTATION ASSIST PLUS, which helps to prevent rear-end collisions. And of course, there are numerous more optional safety additions.

Beautiful, stylish and powerful. This vehicle surely deserves some attention.
