  • BBR Mazda 3 2.2 Diesel – 243HP and 529Nm

    BBR Mazda 3 2.2 Diesel

BBR has presented their extensive tuning program for Mazda 3/5/6 and CX7 models. The tuning copmany has developed its own range of StarChip ECU remaps and mechanical enhancements for the Mazda diesel range of vehicles using its brand new, state of the art 4WD chassis dynomometer which ensures an even higher level of reliable, repeatable, economy friendly performance.
BBR Phase 1 includes an ECU re-map boosting the 2.2 liter diesel to 220HP (162 kW) and 510Nm (378 lb-ft) of torque. This is an increase of 38HP (28 kW) and (68 lb-ft). BBR’s StarChip ECU remap software has been calibrated to deliver an extremely linear throttle pedal / turbo boost map, resulting in a considerably smoother driving experience compared to the factory ECU settings.
It is worth noting that BBR achieves similar gains on the lower powered Mazda 121/143 HP 2.0-litre turbodiesel variants, while customers with 150 HP 2.2-litre Mazda models can exceed the factory 185 HP power output using the BBR Phase One conversion. Dyno testing has proven impressive peak figures of 192HP (141 kW) and 446Nm (330 lb.ft) of torque on this lower powered variant.
£499.00 – Fitted and custom mapped on BBR’s in-house chassis dynomometer
£599.00 – DIY Including EcuTek ProEcu programming kit (a £150 option when installed at BBR)

BBR Phase 2 boosts the 2.2 litre diesel to 243HP (179 kW) and 529Nm (392 lb-ft) of torque. The result is thanks to a new ‘hybrid’ turbocharger with modified internals for additional gasflow potential, plus includes a high flowing panel air filter with additional ECU remapping to suit.

  • 2014 Mazda3 Coupe [render]

Immediately after the revealing of the all-new 2014 Mazda3 Sedan, Theophiluschin started to work on a coupe version implementing the firm’s KODO design language. Obviously, he did very good and the render pictures look just amazing.

Still, there are no rumors for planning such a model from Mazda, but it will be a good rival to Honda Civic Coupe, Hyundai Elantra Coupe and Kia Forte Koup. All manufacturers expand their model range to be highly competitive on the market, so this is a very good idea, which Mazda should have in mind.

Both, the Sedan and the Hatchback look very good, but the Coupe outmatches them easily with its aggressive design and sleek appearance.

  • 2014 Mazda6 i-ELOOP – 5.8 l / 100 km

2014 Mazda6 i-ELOOP is capable of achieving 40 mpg US (5.8 l / 100 km) on the highway. The new technology is available exclusively on the Grand Touring models priced from $29,695.

The i-ELOOP is part of the Technology Package which adds $2,080 to the final price tag so an i-ELOOP-fitted Mazda6 starts from $31,775 without the destination charges. Other equipment in the package include active grille shutters, Sport mode button, high beam control, lane departure warning system, Mazda Radar Cruise Control and forward obstruction warning system.

The unique capacitor technology in i-ELOOP can store large volumes of electricity and, unlike batteries, can be charged and discharged rapidly and is resistant to deterioration through prolonged use.

The i-ELOOP includes a new variable voltage (12-25V) alternator, a low-resistance Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) and a DC/DC converter. i-ELOOP starts to recover kinetic energy the moment the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal and the vehicle begins to decelerate.

Instop-start driving conditions, the use of i-ELOOP fuel economy improves by approximately 10% .  Working in conjunction with Mazda’s unique i-stop idling stop technology, i-ELOOP can extend the period that the engine can be shut off.

  • 2014 Mazda3 – Improved Design and Fuel Efficiency

Mazda has officially unveiled the 2014 Mazda3 looking quite sleek and sporty. The model boasts Kobo design philosophy which has already been used on the CX-5 and Mazda6.

Lower and leaner than its predecessor, this third generation Mazda3 shares almost nothing with its older siblings other than a name. All new from the ground up, the 2014 Mazda3 sits on a wheelbase of 106.3 inches, which is 2.4 inches longer than the previous generation, yet the hatchback is 1.8 inches shorter in length at 175.6 inches. With a height of 57.3 inches and a width of 70.7 inches, the Mazda3 reduces its ceiling by 0.6 inches and gains 1.6 inches in the hips while retaining similar headroom space and offering rear legroom at 35.8 inches. The rear seatbacks are nearly 2.0 inches taller for added passenger comfort. Front and rear shoulder room also has increased to 57.2 and 54.4 inches, respectively. This efficient use of space is wrapped in the increasingly striking dimensions of KODO, Mazda’s “Soul of Motion” approach to designs that exude emotional proportions and refined strength.

The interior boasts higher quality materials and improved design. There are new instrument cluster, satin chrome trim, piano black accents and more comfortable seats which can be upholstered in cloth, leatherette or leather.

Other interior highlights include a new infotainment system with Bluetooth/USB/AUX connectivity as well as the ability to access the internet via a smartphone.

    The engine range includes 2.0 liter SKYACTIV-G with 155HP (115 kW) and 203Nm (150 lb-ft) and a 2.5 liter SKYACTIV-G with 184HP (137 kW) and 250Nm (185 lb-ft). They can be mated to a SKYACTIV-MT 6-speed manual or SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic.

To improve fuel efficiency, the Mazda3 has i-ELOOP brake energy regeneration and a SKYACTIV-Body that uses high-strength steel for “significant weight savings.”

The safety systems are High Beam Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Forward Obstruction Warning, Smart City Brake Support and Radar Cruise Control.
