  • Prior Design Stun with a Lamborghini Gallardo

Prior-Design-Lamborghini-Gallardo-L800-thumbPrior-Design-Lamborghini-Gallardo-L800-mediumThis time Prior Design have gone big. Actually no. They have gone for the baby Lamborghini. The Gallardo. Still, quite the kit they have provided. Most of the Italian skin is now covered in German quality Dura-Flex Fiber Reinforced Plastic bits.

The kit consists of a front bumper, a rear bumper, front fenders with air intakes, rear wheel arches that are wider than normal, a roof scoop and a rear trunk spoiler. Some of the aforementioned are functional, others are merely decorative. Most importantly, Prior will charge you for the whole thing (kit) 12,900 Euros ($15,921) which is a ridiculous sum of money. Have they dismembered a Suzuki Swift to get the parts?

Nevertheless, we like looking at the thing. A Prior Design Lamborghini Gallardo. Everything that’s not stock looks kind of at home.

  • Capristo Lamborghini Aventador Carbon

Capristo Exhaust Systems has announced their latest project based on Lamborghini Aventador.

LP700-4 is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 with 700PS (515 kW) and 690Nm (509 lb-ft). The engine is coupled to a 7-speed ISR gearbox specially supplied by Graziano Trasmissioni Group. The shift time is just 50 milliseconds. The power is put on the road through a Haldex AWD system. 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

The gross weight of the vehicle is 1575 kg (3472 lbs).

This makes Aventador LP700-4 one of the fastest cars on the planet not only in straight line, but at the racetracks, too.

However, this is not enough for Capristo, so with their specially prepared exhaust system, the car is even faster – 1/10th of a second faster than before – 2.8 seconds to 100 km/h and 3 km/h more to the top speed – 353 km/h (219 mph).

Even more pronounced of exchanging plastic components with 100% carbon-fiber one. The overall weight is reduced by 40kg, which mainly affects power-to-weight ratio.

  • Through the eGarage lens: Concorso Italiano 2010

Concorso-Italiano-thumbThis year’s Concorso Italiano event is less than a month away so that explains why at eGarage want to throw us back a couple of years ago when they filmed this. The Concorso Italiano is like comic-con for gear heads, a bowl of Italian goodness, a mingle of pesto that’s been made of the finest herbs around. It all sounds very exotic, but actually it;s most commonly held in California.

The clip we have here is a director’s cut from 2010. That explains the absence of the Ferrari FF for example or the acrobatic photographers around the Ferrari 458 Italia – still hot from the factory. Then there’s the F430 Scuderia which is equally impressive. But the Concorso is not all about Ferraries and what’s hot. There are Countaches, Alfa-Romeos, F40s and the lot. It’s not always necessary about cars as well.

Be on the look out for this year’s Concorso Italiano which will be held at August the 17th at Monterey California.

For now though, just enjoy this not-old-enough-to-be-a-classic video but definitely a worthy one.

  • SR Auto Lamborghini Murcielago SV with PUR Wheels

SR-Auto-Lamborghini-Murcielago-SV-thumbSR Auto have done it again – it’s white, Italian, all-wheel-driven, has PUR wheels on it and it’s called a project. Project White Wing to be exact. It’s a Lamborghini Murcielago SV and in all honesty, as soon as we saw the pictures, a certain endearment took us over. It’s not often we read news about Mercielagos, let alone SVs (which means SuperVeloce or SuperFast).

Let’s not let’s not lie to ourselves, those Aventador predecessors still need some of the spotlight. That’s why SR Auto have taken up on contacting PUR Wheels and acquiring two PUR 2WO Monoblock 19-inch wheels for the front and two 20-inch of the same sort wheels for the back. Guess sometimes it’s the subtle changes that make the difference.

The Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce was the most powerful bull of the line ever produced. It was the last model to join the family as well – a sort of a grand goodbye party. It’s V12 engine’s power was pumped up to 670 hp which meant that it’s carbon fibery body was capable of accelerating to 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standing start in just 2.9 seconds. Those wheels will have to work for their lunch.

  • Lamborghini Gallardo UR Twin Turbo [HD video] – 1 mile Record

Here is a sensational video of Lamborghini Gallardo UR Twin Turbo, which managed to set new 1 mile record. The super sports car is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.0 liter V10 with whopping 1500WHP (around 2000HP).

With such amount of power, the records are imminent and the Gallardo stopped the clock at 23.861 seconds crossing the 1 mile (1.609 km) distance with terminal speed of whopping 387.51 km/h. In this third start, the super sports car covered 1/4 mile in just 10.639 seconds with terminal speed of 245.56 km/h. Of course, this is slightly slow 1/4 mile, but it is mainly because of traction problems.

In the first start, the Gallardo UR Twin Turbo set 24.366 seconds with 378.15 km/h at 1 mile and in the second 24.264 with 383.38 km/h.

    Enjoy the video!
