  • Lamborghini unveils Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo

2013-Lamborghini-Gallardo-THUMB2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo is a special supersportscar that have been teased in the last couple of day throughout the social networks. Now the unique model is officially unveiled by Lamborghini.

The Gallardo is based on the proven chassis and mechanical platform of its predecessor, but takes a significant step forward following extensive aerodynamic re-profiling of the surface geometries and the addition of adjustable aerodynamic devices, including an all-new ten-position rear wing.

Furthermore improvements are made in terms of aerodynamics (they have been enhanced by %120), of thermal performance (here Trofeo achieves a 50% improvement), of balance and dynamic performance. The latter is achieved through increasing downforce by 128kg in low downforce set up and 160kg in high downforce trim.

While the racing technology advances, the Gallardo provides an efficient and cost-effective platform for customer racing. In fact, Lamborghini has taken a significant step forward with the aerodynamic performance of the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo. However, the car stays faithful to the core principles of the brand.

Stephan Winkelmann, the president of the brand, confirmed that they are planning to expand the Super Trofeo series into other markets, such as the USA.

  • Molto Veloce: DMC Lamborghini Aventador LP-900 [VIDEO]

dmc-lamborghini-aventador-THUMBTwo weeks ago we have seen an exceptional tuning of Lamborghini Aventador LP-900 performed by German Luxury Tuner DMC. Now we are pleased to see a trailer which showcases this unique transformation.

This tuning in particular is a combination of aerodynamic Carbon Fiber parts including diffusers, lips, and spoilers, exhaust system of Titanium and a staggering 900 hp (662 kW) Engine Performance upgrade.

To go further into details, the expressive front fascia of the Lamborghini includes a redesigned spoiler sword and a stunning front-splitter lip, all made of pure carbon fiber. They fit onto the stock-bumper, installation is very swift.

The new side skirt diffusers enhance the aerodynamics and bring more road stability. The rear fascia is also new. Again it is made of a lightened carbon fiber diffusor and an added tunnel system. As a matter of fact, both items deliver better down force on the rear axle. The rear wing spoiler which supports aerodynamics on the rear axle rounds off the tuning.

But more importantly, here we should pay additional attention to the performance modifications. These feature twelve unique single intake throttle plates, one per each cylinder. Other enhancements include optimized engine electronics, an electronic load pressure control system and a completely new wiring.

Furthermore, a brand new Titanium Exhaust system is added which weighs only a 1/10 of its original weight counting only 3.45 KG. As mentioned in the beginning, the result is whopping 900 hp (662 kW), instead of factory’s 700HP (514 kW).

  • Lamborghini Perdigón Concept – Simply Breathtaking!

Lamborghini Perdigón Concept is an inspirational design worthy of carrying the Lamborghini badge, made by an independent designer working outside the brand. His name is Ondrej Jirec and surprisingly he is a final year Transport Design student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

He decided to name his vision Lamborghini Perdigón, the latter word of which in Spanish stands for Pellet. In fact, Perdigón is actually named after a famous fighting bull. The concept obviously is stealth jet inspired and includes sharp angles and polygonal surfaces reminiscent of aircraft like the F117 Nighthawk and F22 Raptor.

One of the untypical design elements which the young student included is for example the large air intake mounted just below the windscreen. In particular, this features a fan-like design on the inside which gives it the appearance of a jet engine.

But take a look at the interior of the car! It is literally breathtaking! On the inside the Lamborghini Perdigón concept features a sharply styled and futuristic cabin which perfectly compliments the exterior.

The steering wheel is high-tech and multi-functional. There are positioned the digital display showing the gear selection, and couple of buttons and switches. The instrument cluster is envisioned small with the gauges deeply inset into their housings.

Furthermore, the high center console not only gives opportunity to the air to be funneled from the front air intake to the mid-mounted engine, but also is the place where what looks like i-Drive inspired control knobs are positioned. In addition it leads up to the central infotainment screen mounted towards the front of the dashboard.

  • Petrolicious: When Outrageous Was Possible

Petrolicious-THUMBThe new project Petrolicious is gaining more popularity because the crew is working hard to deliver to all fans of vintage cars excellent footages of some of the rarest model. Such one is Lamborghini Countach, the story of which you can hear in the first seconds of the video below.

This model of Lamborghini debuted back in the distant 1971 and as the owner James Chen admits it was an “outrageous” car. Because it is not very organic, and in fact it has origami-like forms, it looks very aggressively on the road.

Back in those years the art form known as coachbuilding existed. Back then, the coach builder did not have to compromise his vision due to government regulations. And this is how the Lamborghini Countach was born.

If you are curious to want more about this Lamborghini and to know the true meaning of the word “exotic” then what you need to do is to take a look on this exciting footage:

  • Lamborghini Gallardo UR Twin Turbo vs Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+

Dragtimesinfo has released a new crazy video featuring Lamborghini Gallardo UR Twin Turbo and Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+. Both cars are sensational – the GT-R has 1500HP (around 1200WHP), while the Gallardo boasts 2000HP (1500 WHP). In other words, there is nothing faster on the public roads than these two vehicles. The Gallardo managed to stop the clock in acceleration between 200 and 300 km/h in 6.8 seconds.

The GT-R runs on Race Fuel VP Import 120 and the Gallardo is powered by Race Fuel VP C-16. The Lamborghini has 6-speed manual gearbox and the driver has a lot of difficulties changing gears so fast. The Nissan has robotic manual gearbox making changing much easier.

Both cars have huge problems with the traction, despite the AWD and four slicks fitted on the wheels. They made a lot of starts, but obviously the faster car is the GT-R.

Enjoy the video, where you will see one of the cars passing police post with more than 300 km/h.

  • 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 with Start/Stop System

aventador-THUMBaventador-6512013 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is now going to include the innovative and extremely fast start/stop system with supercaps for energy storage. In addition this system improves the cylinder deactivation under partial load and brings great savings in fuel consumption.

In fact, here Lamborghini is using a highly advanced technology for its new Start/Stop system. The energy for re-start following a stop phase is delivered by high-performance capacitors known as supercaps. The latter allow extremely fast start-up, where the entire V12 power is available again in 180 milliseconds.

Furthermore this new technology also delivers a weight saving of three kilograms. The classic vehicle battery supplies only the electronic systems. In addition, the second new efficiency technology is named the Cylinder Deactivation System (CDS).

CDS disables one cylinder bank when the car is under low load and at speeds of less than 135 km/h. This allows the power unit to run as an inline six. Both CDS and the start/stop system work incredibly quickly.

Nevertheless, they still manage to deliver great fuel efficiency – the average fuel consumption of the Aventador LP 700-4 drops by seven percent to 16 liters/100km. At highway speeds of around 130 km/h the reduction in consumption and emissions is as much as 20 percent. In total the CO2 emissions of the Aventador have been reduced from 398 g/km to 370 g/km.

Another refinement has been done on the chassis setup. The razor-sharp handling is more precise, ride comfort has been enhanced, the springs are stiffer and the dampers – optimized. In addition, the car runs on new forged alloy wheels in the Dione design.

Carbon fiber can be found in many parts of this Lamborghini model. In addition, substantial proportion of the super sports car’s technological superiority is thanks to its CFRP monocoque.

This is a material which takes on an even higher profile with a package of optional CFRP components. For instance such are the front spoiler, air intakes, engine cover panel, powertrain cladding and interior applications.

  • Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 and LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica Unveiled in Paris

Lamborghini-Gallardo-LP-570-4-Edizione-Tecnica-THUMBLamborghini just showcased two incredible new models at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The new super sportscars have the inherent aggressive design of the brand and in addition are even more extreme.

Gallardo LP 560-4 is equipped with permanent four wheel drive, has a new front end and rear. On the other hand, the LP 570-4 Superleggera and the LP 570-4 Spyder Performante will be offered also as the further enhanced Edizione Tecnica version.

The first model which was showcased was the Gallardo LP 560-4 with its new unique design and razor-sharp lines. As mentioned, there’s a new front end, characterized by triangular and trapezoidal forms. They are divided by diagonal elements in body color and in black. This means basically that the overall look of the front end is now broader and more powerful.

And in order to complete the new look of the Gallardo, the designers decided to equip the car with larger air intakes ahead of the front wheels and the new 19-inch “Apollo polished” alloy wheels. The latter were painted in matt black and include precision-machined spokes in polished silver.

Another new detail here is the more dynamic rear end design. The air outlet for the power unit has now a wider surface area. This in fact enhances its thermodynamic efficiency. In addition a new Style Package is available as an option and offers high-gloss black paintwork on the underside of the front spoiler, front and rear grilles and the transverse element of the rear trim.

    Lamborghini-Gallardo-LP-570-4-Edizione-Tecnica-651

The next model showcased in Paris is the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica which has more determined lightweight design. Being originally LP 570-4 Superleggera and LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, now as Edizione Tecnica, they benefit from a further enhanced equipment level and an even more personalized look.

Part of the equipment of the Edizione Tecnica includes the fixed high rear wing, brakes in carbon-ceramic technology. Both deliver low weight with outstanding fade resistance and durability.

Furthermore, this version is offered in three new exclusive optional color combinations, whereby the entire roof arch and front air intakes are painted in a contrast color. The available shades here are: Nero Nemesis (matt black) body with Arancio Argos (orange) pillars and front air intakes, Bianco Canopus (matt white) body with Arancio Argos pillars and front air intakes, and Arancio Argos body with Nero Nemesis pillars and front air intakes.

Another interesting and important fact to be mentioned is that all of the presented Gallardo models can be customized optionally with the exclusive and well known: “Ad Personam” Lamborghini program. The new Gallardo models are going to be first seen in showrooms starting November 2012.

  • Dallas Performance Lamborghini Gallardo

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 is simply astonishing vehicle. Superfast, super aggressive and awesome to drive and to look at, but obviously for some people this is not enough. That’s why Dallas Performance boosted the sports car to whopping 1200WHP (wheel-horse-power), which is more than 1500HP (engine horsepower).

Actually, this is Stage 2, which includes a complete twin-turbo system with forged engine internal parts. The tuning company previously has introduced Stage 1, which achieved 650WHP (485 kW) with regular 93 octane fuel and more than 800WHP (597 kW) with special VP C16 race fuel.

Stage 2 is a lot money, but for such power you have to pay a lot… and “a lot” means $65k for the models between 2004 and 2008 and $68k for those from 2009.

Originally, the Gallardo runs 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, to 200 km/h in 11.8 seconds and has a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph). There is no such data for the highly tuned Stage 2 of DP, but probably the times are cut in half or more.

  • Lamborghini Murcielago LP2000-2 SV Twin Turbo [video]

Here is one of the most powerful street legal vehicles in the world – a staggering twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Murcielago. As you know, the number behind the model in Lambo range means amount of HP and this is LP2000-2. That’s right, it has over two thousand horsepower at the rear wheels, which is bad… very bad. There is not chance to put this amount of power on the asphalt, but who cares?

The upgrades are countless, but some of the most interesting are a custom throttle body, a custom 12-inch exhaust system, custom billet aluminum plenum, 5” cold air intakes, as well as a custom Garrett GTX-4294 twin-turbo conversion.

The conversion is made by Covert Tuning Dynamics and took more than 3,000 hours of build time, along with no less than four years of R&D.

Other upgrades include a strut brace, six point roll-cage, custom sound system, custom battery, intercooler and NASA heat shielding. We are curious, what exactly is that, but probably nobody will tell…

The exterior features nice satin and matt finish and some carbon elements – side mirrors, carbon fuel door and brakes. The tuned Mucielago stands on a set of ADV.1 wheels. There were also some weight reduction, which is significant – 250 kg (550 lbs) less than the factory version of the car.

In other words, this is a fantastic car, but useless on the roads.

Check out the video, where you will see a lot talking and no action, just like the car itself.

  • Lamborghini Aventador LP-900 tuned by DMC

The German tuning company DMC has announced their latest project based on the famous Lamborghini Aventador. The LP-900 upgrade includes complete exterior styling package as well as a staggering performance improvement.

The exterior features a unique expressive front fascia features a redesigned spoiler sword and a stunning front-splitter lip, all made of pure carbon fiber. They fit onto the stock-bumper, installation is very swift. The new side skirt diffusers aim to improve the overall aerodynamics as well by bringing road stability. A new rear fascia consists of a lightened carbon fiber diffusor and an added tunnel system: Both items improve down force on the rear axle. It is completed by a rear wing spoiler that supports aerodynamics on the rear axle. All items can be installed without visibly damaging the Aventador since they either exchange for the OEM parts, or conveniently add-on, which guarantees that the car can be brought back to its original state of art, at any time

The performance modifications include 12 unique single intake throttle plates, one per each cylinder. Gasoline pumps and – lines, as well as pressure modulators and injection nozzles will be replaced by own new components. Optimized engine electronics, an electronic load pressure control system and a completely new wiring will be added. The engine will be rebranded as LP900. The power-mod is supported by a brand new Titanium Exhaust system, which weighs only a 1/10 of it’s original weight. Counting only 3.45 KG, compared with the 34 KG stock exhaust was only possibly by using the high-tech Titanium, a material also used in space-ships.

As you may suggest the result is whopping 900HP (660kW), instead of factory’s 700HP (514 kW).

The aerodynamics package is EUR 25,000 and the brand new Interior costs EUR 10,000. DMC’s wheel set starts at EUR 10,000, and the Titanium Exhaust brings an additional EUR 5,500.
