  • PP-Performance Has Power Tweaks for Ferrari F12berlinetta

When two companies dedicated to exclusivity, style and performance merge into one project, the result is something like the next car we are to present to you. PP-Performance has redefined the concept for power of the Ferrari F12berlinetta and the end result is stunning. Well, they didn’t focus that much on the appearance, because under their attention was the most important part of the Ferrari – the engine.

Instead of the typical and almost iconic color for the F12berlinetta, the specialists chose a white car to work on. To go into details, some modifications were added to car’s 6.3-liters-V12-engine. Such are the BMC Race filter and the complete Frequency Intelligent (FI) catless exhaust system. The FI plays a significant role in the “power explosion”, when the driver pushes the accelerator pedal.

But atop of the engine “surgery” is the optimization of the engine control. PP-Performance did this with its own software. The complete kit uprates the horsepower of the Ferrari from 740 hp (544 kW) to 795 “perky horses” (585 kW).

The torque is also raised from 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) to 730 Nm (539 lb-ft). And if you wonder about acceleration time, well the answer is 2.9 seconds for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h and 8.0 seconds from 0 to 200 km/h. Compared to the serial accelerations times, this is a 0.2 seconds and 0.5 seconds improvement, respectively.

  • One-off Ferrari Sergio Arrives in UAE

Ferrari-Sergio-THUMBFerrari-Sergio-651The first Ferrari Sergio has just been delivered to its proud owner in the United Arab Emirates. This makes it the first Sergio to arrive in the UAE. The supersports car has been designed by Pininfarina and more importantly, only six of this limited edition roadster will be ever built. The model was introduced as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013 and it comes to celebrate the spirit and core values of the historic Cambiano company in the 60th anniversary year of its collaboration with the Prancing Horse.

The name Sergio was the only possible choice, because it pays homage to great Sergio Pininfarina. The Ferrari Sergio is both exclusive and spare. What I mean is that every single element aboard is focused entirely on performance.

To get more precise, it features an authentic open-top and great driving dynamics. In fact, the car is based on the 458 Spider and has kept its technological content as well as its functional aspects of its cockpit.

This basically means that it is powered by Ferrari’s naturally aspirated 4497 cc V8 which produces 605 hp (445 kW). The engine ensures a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds.

Sergio has also an extremely simple and clear style, which reflects the spirt of Pininfarina’s 1960s and 70s creations for Ferrari. For instance, the front of the car seems to penetrate the rear which itself projects forward. The two bodyshell masses are melded together via a longitudinal black insert.

The flank also gets the same black longitudinal element which serves as both a dividing and unifying element between front and rear. The two sections of the car flow effortlessly into one. Furthermore, there is a semi-floating development of the front spoiler beneath the bonnet which balances downforce and optimises heat exchange. The roll-bar is a modern take on the classic Ferrari flying buttress and negative rear window.

At the front we see classically-shaped headlights. While at the back, there are circular tail lights, which is another modern nod to Ferrari history. The two-tone theme continues on both the front bonnet and rear deck. The latter gets the iconic circular air vents typical for Pininfarina’s design.

This example, delivered in UAE, has three-layer red exterior paintwork as well as an extremely sporty cockpit with black leather upholstery with contrasting red stitching. The interior alsp gets Alcantara seat inserts, and extensive carbon dash and door well trim.

We forgot mentioning these special gold Sergio-specific forged wheels that are painted with a diamond finish.

Each one of the six Ferrari Sergios is absolutely unique, because it was configured by its owner. The result is exclusivity down to the tiniest detail which continues the tradition of creating bespoke cars minutely tailored to each client’s wishes.

  • World Debut of Ferrari FXX K

Ferrari has officially revealed the FXX K ahead of its debut in Abu Dhabi during the Finali Mondiali event. The car is formerly known as the LeFerrari XX and is based on Maranello’s first hybrid machine. The K in its moniker refers to the “KERS” kinetic energy recovery system which it adopts in order to maximize its track performance.

Now to the basics. The FXX K is equipped with the basic V12-plus-electric engine just like the road-going LaFerrari. This time around, though, it generates more power. Presicely, 101bhp more power. As a result, the car shows off with a total output of 1036bhp. Thus, there is 848bhp that derives from the 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine and 187bhp from the electric motor. Combined maximum torque is estimated at 664 lb-ft.

Even though Ferrari hasn’t announced any performance inormation for the LeFerrari, it is expected to dazzle with an amazing 0-62 mph sprint time of no more than three seconds. As it seems, it is going to be really fast. And furios. (Those just cant exist separately.)

The new Ferrari FXX K has attained a number of additional devices and features. At the front there is a 30 mm lower twin-profile spoiler, with vertical fins which tranmist air over the car’s flanks, and propels the efficiency of the aerodynamic underbody. The verticle fin-winglet arrangements on each side of the retractable rear spoiler function as guide vanes and boost the spoilers efficiency in optimized downforce mode.

According to Ferrari, this results in 50% improvement in downforce in the low drag configuration and a 30% improvement in the more aggressive downforce configuration with a final figure of 540 kg at 200 km/h.

Finally, the dynamics of the FXX K are enhanced even more by the use of Pirelli slicks complete with sensors that monitor longitudinal, lateral and radial acceleration, as well as temperature and pressure.

  • SR Auto Teases Future Project on Liberty Walk Ferrari 458 Italia

Liberty-Walk-Ferrari-458-THUMBSR Auto Group has teased the public with a picture showing what’s new in their garage. And it is a Liberty Walk Ferrari 458. They have announced that this car will stay a little bit longer there because it will be their next big project. Over the upcoming winter months, the tuners will be tackling the task of creating Vancouver’s first Liberty Walk Ferrari 458. No other details were revealed. Enthusiasts can follow the build progress on SR Auto’s Instagram or official web page.

Ferrari 458 Italia by Liberty Walk is perfectly proportioned. As we can see from the released image, the car is dressed in black paint and will feature some amazing shining red wheels, in the dimension of 20 or 21 inches, with multi-spoke design. We also see that they are coupled with low profile tyres.

Some of the key elements of the Japanese tuning that happened first include front bumper and spoiler set, side skirts, and a duck tail rear spoiler. We are not sure whether there will be any boost of the original engine.

The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by the naturally-aspirated, direct-injection 4.5 litre V8 engine. It produces 578 horsepower (425 kW) at 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. This makes it effortless for it to reach a maximum speed of 320 km/h (198 mph).

Another important number here is the acceleration time which this Ferrari has for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h and it is under 3.4 seconds. The power of the 458 Spider is transferred to the road by Ferrari’s class-leading dual-clutch F1 paddle-shift transmission through the sophisticated E-Diff. Stay tuned for more pictures and details! This promises to be exciting project!

  • Clocking up the Miles: Kimi and the F12 Berlinetta [VIDEO]

The most powerful Ferrari on the range product was pushed to the limits in a special F12berlinetta track day at Fiorano. Eleven journalists deriving from some of the world’s most significant motoring publications participated in the event. They were presented with the chance to run the miles in an attempt to test themselves as well as the car in an ultimate driving performance. The participants utilized the impressive 740 hp which were released by the mid-front V12 engine. Forming a spectacular show, they were able to depict a full range of excellent natural balance and sportiness which are embodied in the Ferrari.

Taking advantage of the wet track, the journalists experimented with the various Manettino settings to push the car’s performance in different grip levels. Yet, all of the dynamic controls were off when Scuderia Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen was behind the wheel and offered some useful instructions. As a result, the visitors enjoyed a unique experience thanks to the sensational presentation of the F12berlinetta. It managed to demonstrate not only record performance in the Prancing Horse range but it also delivered entertainment and fun.

  • New Forgiato Wheels: The Unbreakable

Two questions are circling around my head right now: Is there anything stronger than the wraith of a woman? And is there anything that can resist it? I would have said no if I had not watched the latest advertisement of Forgiato Wheels for their new ‘Unbreakable’ series wheels, staring a Cheating Boyfriend, The Other Woman, The Not-so-one-and-only Woman, and the ultimate sufferer Ferrari 458 equipped with a new set of Forgiato wheels. Ah, did I forget to mention the sledgehammer? Yes, there is a sledgehammer playing a significant role too. A marvelous choice of ‘actors’ that is, right? You cannot help but wonder what the hell is going to happen!? Actually, I take that one back. Looking at the bigger picture, it is in fact quite obvious.

For a great number of famous people including football players, NBA Stars and, pretty much, the whole continent of Asia, Forgiato has been continuously number one choice when it comes to selection of wheels. The company sells aftermarket wheels for different high-end luxury cars that are manufactured in Los Angeles, California. From the released teasing video, the newest models seem very similar to Monoleggera Sport wheels, yet we are not told anything else about them. Left with only a chance for speculations, we can simply observe that the new Forgiato wheels are remarkably indestructible.

You pulled a nice one there, Forgiato! There’s no better way to show how much of a pounding your wheels can take than setting them against an angry supermodel… with a sledgehammer in her hands. You caused a lot of screaming behind the screens and a headache to Ferrari.

Watch the link bellow and be careful not to get a heart attack.

  • Ferrari F80 Concept Car: Winner or Sinner?

Take a look at this beast but try not to let your jaw drop just yet. It is edgy. It is jazzed. And it looks freaking good! The acute style embodied in this red carnivore glides on and pinches the human senses. The only drawback, though, is that, well… the car is not real. What you see is Ferrari F80 which is the brainchild of the Italian designer Adriano Raeli.

Each line of this monstrously sick car is marked out in a manner that shapes a bold and powerful bodylook which certainly makes a strong point. The nose of the car is sharp and the rear long and aggressive. With those predator-like headlights, the concept car appears to be staring right at you. Challenging. Provoking. Tempting. On the outside, every part is outlined with extreme precision that forms compact and streamlined symbiosis with the rest of the body of the car. This smooth and gleaming fantasy design seems like something that Picasso would have dreamt about in his most daring dream. It is a mere killer! It is a car for supervillains.

In fact, it is not just pretty. It is pictured as hyper powerful as well. Under the hood, the designer expects Ferrari to equip the car with a twin-turbo hybrid V8 using Ferrari’s KERS technology. Hypothetically, Ferrari F80 is expected to produce the striking 1200 hp (895kW). What Adriano Raeli has also pointed out is that the car will purportedly weigh only 1763-pounds which will enable the hypercar to sprint to 62 mph in just 2.2-seconds, with a top speed of 310mph.

  • Ferrari Shows the Exclusive F60America

Ferrari-F60America-THUMBThis year marks the 6oth anniversary since a Ferrari model has stepped on North American ground. To celebrate this, Maranello has returned to its 1950s and 60s tradition of producing strictly limited edition cars. As a result the company is currently presenting the Ferrari F60America, which will be produced in only 10 examples. Furthermore, the car combines the two of the greatest passions Americans have: the V12 engine and open-top driving. F60America will be revealed tomorrow evening at an anniversary celebration gala dinner at Beverly Hills City Hall.

Just 10 F60Americas will be built, and this is an example take directly from the1967 275 GTS4 NART Spider that was specifically requested from Enzo Ferrari for his US clients. As mentioned, the car is driven by Ferrari’s award-winning mid-front-mounted V12 which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.

The personality of the car is instantly clear from its flanks which are characterised by an innovative diapason design theme. At the front, this Ferrari features the classic Ferrari single front grille with chrome finish and integrated air intakes for the brakes.

A couple of leather-trimmed roll-hoops are backed by carbon-fibre-trimmed flying buttresses that stretch from behind the cockpit to the rear. The driver’s area is emphasized via cabin’s asymmetrical design. At the same time the passenger side is decided in black and inspired by the historic Ferrari competition cars.

Furthermore, the cabin trim is exclusive with the dash, tunnel and door panels on the driver’s side all swathed in composite materials. The racing seats also include a stylised American flag motif on the centre of each seat and backrest.

What first strikes the viewer is that the F60America’s bodywork has adopted the classic North American Racing Team livery. It also features the special Ferrari 60th anniversary Prancing Horse badge on the wheelarches and on the tunnel in the cabin.

Ferrari has announced the upcoming debut of the 458 Speciale A spider at the upcoming Paris Motor Show (4-19 October 2014). The new car will be a celebration of the dazzling success of the various versions of the 458, a model that has collected an array of international motoring media awards and track victories, including category wins in classic endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

    Ferrari-458-Speciale-rear_651

The Ferrari 458 Speciale A spider will be limited and only 499 cars will be built. The value of the vehicle is enhanced by the fact that the car includes the most powerful naturally-aspirated road-going V8 engine ever built by Ferrari with displacement of 4.5 liters. It delivers a massive 605 cv (135 cv/l specific power output) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque at 6000 rpm at the cost of just 275g/km of carbon dioxide emissions. This allows the car to reach 0-100 km (0-62 mph) in just 3.0 seconds and cover a Fiorano lap in 1’23”5. These results are also achieved thanks to the front and rear active aerodynamics, the rigid chassis that incorporates 10 aluminum alloys and Side Slip Angle Control (SSC) which guarantees unparalleled sporty driving in all conditions.

The new car will arrive in triple-layer yellow livery with a Blu Nart and Bianco Avus central stripe as well as five-spoke forged wheels in Grigio Corsa. As of now there’s no information on how much a single Ferrari 458 Speciale A will cost.

  • Bonhams to show ultra-rare Ferrari 250 GTO

    1962-Ferrari-250-GTO_thumb1962-Ferrari-250-GTO_651

The UK auction house Bonhams will preview an example of perhaps the most famous and sought-after classic race car ever – the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. The event will take place at the Monterey Pre-Reunion on August 9 and August 10. The classic race car, of which only 39 were constructed, will be shown in the Bonhams hospitality area at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca where the historic car racing is taking place.

The Ferrari in question carries the chassis number 3851GT and comes from the Maranello Rosso Collection and has been owned by one family for 49 years. Bonhams will sell the car and nine other Ferraris from the collection at its Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction on August 14.

“Collectors around the world are eagerly awaiting auction day to see what the market will command for such a historically significant and rarely available automobile,” said Mark Osborne, head of motoring for Bonhams in the U.S. “There is no reserve on this car, meaning that it will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of what that bid is. And what better way to showcase it than in front of racers and collectors who are at the Monterey Pre-Reunion.”

The Ferrari in question is the 19th Ferrari GTO to be completed but given that two of the preceding examples are 330 GTOs with 4-litre engines instead of the GT-homologated 3-litre “250” units this Ferrari may be regarded as the 17th Ferrari 250 GTO. It was collected by its first owner, the experienced and rugged 34-year-old French privateer Jo Schlesser, who immediately entered it in the 1962 Tour de France Automobile, with co-driver French skiing champion Henri Oreiller. The duo covered 3418 miles and finished second overall.

The Monterey Pre-Reunion is the first event of the Monterey Classic Car Week that also includes the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion (August 14-17), Quail Motorsports Gathering (August 15) and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance (August 17). Admission to the Monterey Pre-Reunion on August 9 and August 10 costs USD 20 at the paddock entrance of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
