Vauxhall UK has started offering premium service to owners of Vauxhall vans in the United Kingdom. The car brand now has over 90 per cent of UK businesses covered with a Premier Van Center available within a 30-munite drive.

The new Vauxhall centers offer expert diagnostics without the need for an appointment, lead times no longer than three days and a dedicated Premier Van Helpline, thus maximizing mobility and minimizing downtime for your business. In addition to that Vauxhall will collect and deliver vehicles within a 10-mile (five miles for the M25) radius (16 km or 8 km for M25) and offer a courtesy vehicle free of charge. All Premier Van Center sites will carry out Class 7 MOTs and have a 5-tonne lift on-site.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to looking after the needs of van customers,” said Rachel Parker, Vauxhall Operations Director.

Vauxhall’s Premier Service Centers have to meet strict selection criteria. Only sites that can provide sales and service support and meet strict service level requirements can qualify for Premier Van Center status. Premier Van Centers are also listed on Epyx 1link for ease of identification and online service booking requests. Repairs are carried out at fixed labor rates with job sheets completed on the day the work is completed and invoiced within five working days, so no hidden or unexpected surprises. Customers can also take advantage of a while-you-wait option when a repair is expected to be completed on the same day. Once work is complete a 25-point safety check is carried out including all safety enhancements and software updates. Vauxhall even throws in a wash and vac with every annual service and free fitting of wiper blades.

The new service follows the UK launch of the all-new and British-built Vauxhall Vivaro, which further enhances Vauxhall’s award-winning van range.

  • Mädchen & Motoren Opel GT

Mädchen & Motoren Opel GT is a project which celebrates the tenth anniversary of the tuning company. The used Opel GT is a production model from 2008 and has been refined with the help of the experts at Cam Shaft, who have made a perfect foliation on the body. At first, the body shell was entirely stripped and all elements which were considered unnecessary were removed. This allowed a widening of the body on both sides by 8 cm.

The weight of the car was reduced to 1.150 kg due to the use of fibreglass cowl, new hardtop as well as company’s front fender. The car is powered by the 6.2 litre Corvette LS3 engine with a hot cam, other valves and a carbon airbox. As a result, it delivers full 530 horsepower (390 kW).

The specialist also created exhaust manifolds and exhaust system for this project. The built-in Tremec-gearbox TR-6060 originates from Corvette ZR1, while the brake system with its 6-piston calipers in front and rear as well as Cup brake disks were taken from Porsche GT3 RS.

All of the aforementioned components were then combined with a KW Competition chassis. The wheel and tire combination consists entirely from 11×18 inch GT-Racing rims from ATS fitted with 295/30 tires and Racelogic traction control.

Inside, the GT comes equipped with welded FIA-safety cell. The sound system and air conditioning have been removed for the sake of weight saving. There has been added a Recaro Pro Racer seat, while a pole position of the same origin is installed on the passenger side. A red-white outer shell with labeling and yellowish headlamps further adds to the eye-catching image of this Opel GT.

  • Vauxhall Astra VXR Extreme at 2014 Geneva Motor Show

Vauxhall is going to exhibit the all-new 2014 Astra VXR Extreme at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, in March. The ultra-hot hatchback comes with extreme body kit and extreme engine.

The 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol has over 300HP (225 kW), which means that is the most powerful front-wheel drive Vauxhall, ever. Derived from last year’s Astra Cup race car that competed in the Nurburgring Endurance Championship, the Extreme model is the lighter, more powerful street-legal race sibling to the current Astra VXR. The engine is connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox sending the power to the front wheels through an LSD (limited slip differential).

The curb weight is whopping 100kg less than the original model thanks to the use of high-quality carbon components.  This high-strength, ultra-light material is used for the aerodynamically-optimised rear wing, the diffuser, front spoiler, bonnet, suspension cross-bracing, engine cover, wheels, rear wheelhouse ventilation and roof.

Other highlights include a set of ultra high-performance, 245/35, 19” tyres, specially developed for the Extreme modell a Brembo 6-piston brake system including 370mm diameter discs up front and adjustable dampers.

The interior comes with a roll-bar, Recaro bucket seats, with six-point safety belts from Schroth and a carbon-fibre-reinforced, suede-covered steering wheel with fine yellow decorative stitching.

The car is actually planned to go in a low-volume production, which are great news.

  • A Glimpse At The Vauxhall Astra VXR Extreme

Vauxhall-Astra-VXR-Extreme-Concept-shadowVauxhall-Astra-VXR-Extreme-Concept-mediumIt’s always exciting to talk about something that’s supposed to be the -iest of its kind. That’s why when we saw the “Radical Vauxhall Concept Heralds Fastest Production Astra” title, we flinched a bit. Still not resistant enough to sensationalist headings then

But Vauxhall are indeed up to something. Here’s the first picture ever (sorry) of the Astra VXR Extreme…concept. It’s essentially a “sibling” to the current 280 PS and 400 Nm Astra VXR. We are not good at taking hints. Does that mean no more than that power or no less than that? We do know for a fact, however, that the Extreme will be on a strict carbon fiber diet. Even though its interior spots an integrated safety structure and racing seats and six-point safety belts, the Extreme will be completely road-legal. However, with the Astra Cup race car playing the role of a biological mother, it will feel most at home on closed grounds. Anyone up for making some history at the local track day circuit in the fastest production Astra ever?! (Darn it, we did it again, didn’t we?)

The full reveal is expected at the 2014 Geneva expo. More to come in the coming month.

  • Vauxhall Astra GTC Hitting 200 PS With Ecotec 1.6

Vauxhall-Astra-GTC-shadowVauxhall-Astra-GTC-mediumThe Vauxhall Astra GTC line will now be available with a 1.6 Ecotec power plant. This engine might just be the biggest cause of headaches at Volkswagen.

That’s right, the GTC now pulls off 200 PS and 300 Nm. Yikes! That’s 30 percent more power than the previous equivalent. If we translate that to 0-to-60-time, it means 7.3 seconds or the fastest non-VXR Astra. At the same time, the GTC returns 51 mpg and 154 g/km of CO2 emissions (13 percent less).

Just because its a new model anyway, they’ve decided to throw in an optional extra as well – an Intellilink infotainment system that’s supposed to be user-friendly and intuitive. It comprises of a satelite navigation, voice control, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a picture viewer some reason and Gracenote album art for some reason. All gets mediated to you through a 7-inch screen.

The new GTC hasn’t hit the streets yet, but it is available for ordering. Arrival should be around Spring this year. Your move, other companies that make really good hatchbacks and rival each other.Vauxhall-Astra-GTC-medium-2
