More Features at No Extra Cost? Go for the new Toyota Camry

Toyota Camry gets some sustention at no extra cost! How cool is that! The car now has an upgraded audio system and a standard reversing camera. There’s a catch though: the changes come for free for the four petrol and two petrol-electric hybrid Camry variants. Every audio system includes a touch screen, while four of the six variants have a 6.1-inch screen that also displays the image from the reversing camera.

At the top of the petrol lineup sits the Atara SL. This trim along with the hybrid HL are getting 7-inch screens with satellite navigation and the addition of Toyota Link connected mobility. The latter has an application which helps drivers find a destination, fuel or weather details and etc.

Toyota Camry is in its seventh generation form. It features 2.5-litre petrol engines in petrol or petrol-electric hybrid configurations. Precisely, the Camry Altise delivers 181 horsepower (133 kW) of power and 231 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque.

The Atara trim will benefit from new twin exhausts that will help lift output to 184 hp (135 kW) and 235 Nm (173 lb-ft). Fuel economy across the petrol range is just 7.8 litres/100km.

The hybrid version shows stand-out performance and economy thanks to its hybrid system. The latter has a combined output of 205 hp (151 kW) with power varied between the petrol engine and electric motor. Fuel use here is estimated at just 5.2 litres/100km.

Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle Shortlisted for New Car Honour

As it seems, Toyota has established the everyday use of hybrid cars thanks to its Prius models and has started integrating such principles to cars like the Auris and Yaris. Now the automotive manufacturer is climbing up the steps of development and is progressing with their FCV or, in other words, Fuel Cell Vehicle.

There is a slight difference when you compare the FCV to Toyota’s regular hybrids. Unlike the latter, the fuel cell vehicle does not have a combustion engine. Instead, it is packed with a fuel cell ‘stack’ which represents a chemical reaction where hydrogen is mixed with oxygen to produce electricity and water.

The hydrogen-powered car is has been shortlisted for the WhatCar? magazine and it is nominated for Reader Award for the most eagerly anticipated new model of 2015. What Car’s Reader Award is quite different from the other honours in terms of its annual presentation. The winner is determined by the vote of its readers and website visitors. Respectively, the result will be announced at the magazine’s car of the year
awards presentation which is going to be held on the 7^th of January next year.
Earlier this month Toyota’s fuel cell vehicle was shown with its production-ready design at the Paris motor show. During the next year, the car will be introduced in Europe, North America and Japan.

UK sales will start in summer 2015. Even though it is hard to say if this really could be the car of the future, one thing is known for sure. Toyota’s fuel cell vehicle will be a fascinating contribution to the market!

2015 Toyota GT86 – UK Price

Since its launch two years ago (2012), now Toyota GT86 coupe is going through some serious changes. Updated 2015 Toyota Camry NASCAR Racer Revealed

Toyota and its Racing Development division (TRD) have just introduced the new 2015 Toyota Camry race car. Next season, the vehicle will take part in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) competition. With this model, the company becomes the first in the series to update the NASCAR ‘Gen-6’ model. The Camry has been redesigned and will also be cmpeting in next year’s NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The update of the car results in a new identity, it looks similar to the 2015 production Camry introduced earlier this year. For this car, TRD worked together with Calty Design, and together they have redesigned the racer, which now incorporates design elements from the new 2015 production car.

Just look at the aggressive front end and grill area that looks exactly like its production counterpart. What is more, the new Camry also features sleek hood and nose, and a brand new tail. The sleeker look is further enhanced via a distinct change in the quarter windows.

The redesigned Toyota Camry racer is a byproduct of the improved collaboration between NASCAR and Toyota. The Japanese company aimed to remodel its Gen-6 race car to more closely resemble its serial production version.

2015 Toyota Camry will make its debut at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Daytona International Speedway during February’s ‘Speedweeks.’

Toyota GT-86 14R-60 Limited Edition is Production Version of Griffon Concept

Toyota GT-86 14R-60 Limited Edition is a production continuation of the Griffon concept which was revealed last year. In fact, it is a super lightweight GT-86 which won’t be seen elsewhere but Japan. Just like the Griffon, this limited edition Toyota is driven by 2.0-liter boxer poweplant. There are no enhancements in its power, meaning that it generates 197 horsepower (145 kW) and 205 Nm (151 pound-feet) of maximum torque.

Nevertheless, the engine was touched slightly and now has new air filter, engine oil cooler, a reinforced clutch, lightweight flywheel, and mechanical limited-slip differential from TRD. The transmission here is the six-speed one, but in the case of GT-86 14R-60 it is improved, with different gearing in first and second and an altered final drive ratio.

Furthermore, the suspension of the model has new coilovers, there is also a V-shaped tower brace in the front and rear. Toyota also took care about the brakes, which were upgraded. In terms of exterior the car is equipped with a body kit that features carbon-fiber roof and huge rear spoiler. 18-inch forged magnesium wheels add to the final look.

The interior of the car gets TRD-branded race seats with four-point harnesses as well as Alcantara. There are no rear seats. This limited edition model will be produced in 100 units only and is intended only for the Japanese market.

Toyota Prius+ Updated for MY 2015

Toyota Prius+ is a seven-seat hybrid MPV which now has been refreshed for the 2015 model year. It can show off with new styling, equipment features and color choices. The front-end of the car has been redesigned and now includes a new upper grille and a more prominent Toyota badge that extends the forward line of the bonnet. One can not pass the new LED headlights, too, with their slim profile and contrasting black and chrome plating.

In addition, the lower grille is now in trapezoid shape, while the new gloss black metallic exterior paint finish further highlights the presence of the car. The bumper corners have been given extra emphasis in a flowing form that extends from the headlights to the new air intakes and LED daytime running lights.

At the back of the car one can see a new combination lamp design with “light guides” as well as red inner lenses. The new licence plate trim and bumper now feature an integrated diffuser. There are two body colors new for the palette: Dark Sherry metallic and Attitude Black mica.

Modifications have been done inside, staring with the dark silver metallic finish for the driver’s switchgear and the air conditioning dial control and a chrome finish for the door handles. In the center console one finds two chrome-trimmed, slim-line air vents and a new 4.2-inch colour TFT information screen. The latter displays important vehicle information.

This system can be upgaded – Toyota Touch 2 with Go, in order to deliver additional satellite navigation, live traffic information, expanded range of connected services, text-to-speech function and 3D city modelling with landmark graphics.

Furthermore, other standard equipment features include electric seat adjustment, a front centre armrest and Intelligent Park Assist. In terms of safety, Toyota has provided emergency brake signal as a no cost option.

Prius+ also comes with improved ride and handling, reduced noise intrusion in the cabin and the hybrid powertrain has been upgraded to comply with Euro6 emissions standards. More details, specifications and pricing to be announced close to sale date.

Toyota Releases HiLux Black Edition

Toyota HiLux Black Edition is the new an edgy vehicle added to the famous four-wheel-drive HiLux family of vehicles. The special edition model has a name that says it all. The HiLux Black is adorned by a range of exterior and interior features, which are presented in black in order to enhance its toughness and appeal. To go into details, this version is includes a combination of brooding black side steps, sports bar and leather-accented interior trim including the six-way adjustable power-operated driver’s seat.

What is more, even the newly designed 17-inch six-spoke alloy wheels are painted black. As you can see, this vehicle also includes prominent new front and rear bumpers that give the HiLux Black a lower stance. This muscular look is accentuated by the black extensions below the fog light surrounds.

The model is powered by Toyota’s torquey 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which is coupled with either a five-speed manual gearbox or five-speed automatic transmission. The extensive feature list includes a reversing camera and a satellite navigation system with SUNA™ Live Traffic updates, which all are displayed in the 6.1-inch display audio screen.

The Japanese company is offering in this case the exterior color choices on black and white, called Eclipse Black and Glacier White. In 4×4 guise, Toyota HiLux Black Edition will have fewer than 1,000 units produced. It is based on the SR5 4×4 Double Cab pickup and has the maximum five-star safety rating.

2015 Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid

The 2015 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid continue into the new year with some updates and changes. The Toyota Prius shape is well established after 12 years and its instantly recognizable. The five-door hatchback has a vertical tale and a smooth front with minimum. Its size allows four to five people to fit in along with their luggage.

The cabin looks incredible. The two-level dashboard layout now looks dated-through the interior design appearing futuristic, compared to its launch in 2009. Toyota has more experienced building hybrids than any other maker, and its blending of regenerative braking with the conventional friction brakes is outstanding. But if you need more than leisurely performance, 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) is just under 10 sec you will quickly hear the engine revering up to high speeds.

Toyota Shows C-HR Hybrid Crossover Ahead of Paris Premiere

The first teaser image of the Toyota’s new C-HR Concept was unveiled in the beginning of the week. Now the company is releasing two pictures of the future vehicle revealing its front and back and leaving only the technical details and specifications in secret. The car will debut at the Paris motor show that starts on 2^nd of October. It is a vision for a hybrid-powered compact crossover that displays Toyota’s new design language and also gives clue of what kind of vehicle the Japanese brand would like to bring to market.

C-HR Concept has undoubtedly an expressive design to show. The most striking elements of the new design approach is the diamond styling theme. Beneath the flowing cabin profile, the lower bodywork has been sculpted to create faceted surfaces, which resembles a gemstone. At the fronts are visible Toyota’s current design cues as well as – the introduction of themes which signal a future direction for Toyota vehicles.

Looked at its sides, vehicle’s facetted treatment of the lower body, the muscular wheel arches and angular rear shoulders are juxtaposed with an exceptionally sleek cabin profile. Toyota i-Road Brings Zero-Emissions Motoring to Europe

Toyota i-ROAD is ready to transfer its credentials of being a purely concept vehicle to being one engaged in the real life. It is currently bringing the zero-emissions motoring to Europe’s crowded city centres. A fleet of its i-ROAD and COMS ultra-compact electric vehicles are set to prove how clean and easy urban motoring can be. The first city in which these three- and four-wheelers will appear by taking part in a major pilot programme, is the French city of Grenoble.

The project, in which Toyota is taking participation, is a three-year low-carbon car sharing scheme, which is aims to transform the way people plan and make local journeys. The company will supply 35 of each type of vehicle, thus contributing its harmonious mobility (Ha:Mo) system to manage the scheme day-to-day.

Of course, the local authorities in Grenoble have also supported the project. Precisely, the French power supplier EDF manages and maintains electric charging points as well as the well-established local car-share operator Cité lib.

From the beginning of next month, anyone who holds a valid driving licence can register with Cite Lib to gain access to the Toyota electric vehicles. The users have the opportunity to subscribe to the service and download an application on their devices to see the real-time location of vehicles that are charged and ready to use.

After that, he or she will be able to pick up their car and drop it off at a different location: exactly one of 27 charging stations in the greater Grenoble area. Of course, when the vehicle is dropped off, it is plugged into the station, thus being recharged and ready for the next customer.

This exclusive and innovative programme is a way of building a better-integrated public transport service. The vehicle is not much larger than a motorbike or scooter. However, it is equipped with a full canopy that protects the driver and gives them a secure feeling and comfort of a car.

At last, Toyota confirmed future plans for the program. The company will collect data on technical issues and user behaviour during the pilot the programme, thus helping shape future mobility initiatives.

Toyota C-HR Crossover Concept Makes Debut At Paris Motor Show

Toyota C-HR Concept vehicle will make its international first world appearance at this year’s Paris Motor Show, which will take place between 2nd and 19th of October. The car, carrying rather a name typical for Honda vehicle, will reveal company’s innovative vision for a compact crossover model. Alongside the news for the debut, the company has released a teaser image as well. From it we can see the slim side of the car, as well as its futuristic angular LED taillights.

Toyota has revealed that the future C-HR SUV concept is an example of a combination of powerful new design language, engaging driving experience and a hybrid powertrain. From the picture released we can’t make many judgments, but the vehicle will definitely have sporty appearance. Just take a look at the rear spoiler which is mounted on the roof, as well as the front and rear windscreens. The flowing LED headlights create one-of-a-kind look at the front.

The compact crossover will probably go into production in 2017 and we are also expecting to see it equipped with two- and four-wheel-drive. Of course, the production variant will definitely support not only a hybrid powertrain, but also a petrol and diesel ones.
