2012 Geneva Motor Show: Prindiville Range Rover Evoque Convertible concept

Prindiville Range Rover Evoque Convertible concept was presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. This bold concept builds on the global success of the Evoque and continues Land Rover’s tradition of creating significant vehicles, which deliver luxury and style. In details, the soft-top convertible concept is based on the Range Rover Evoque Coupe. It includes entirely retractable premium roof system with a Roll Over Protection System [ROPS]. Furthermore, the concept combines capability and versatility with a drop down tailgate and a comfortable four seat package. The vehicleretaimns key characteristics from the Land Rover design philosophy, including a command driving position and all-terrain capability. Evoque’s rising waist line and specific shape has been retained. Hence, the new convertible body style has been achieved with minimal changes to weight and torsional rigidity. The hood is housed in a neat tapered finisher with the roof mechanism stowed discretely below the belt-line. Although Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept was already revealed in Geneva 2012 it is only a design and engineering study. Unfortunately, there is no production plans confirmed.

2012 Geneva Motor Show: Range Rover Evoque Convertible

Land Rover has unveiled the special Range Rover Evoque Convertible at the 82^nd Geneva Motor Show.

It is powered by a 2.2 liter disel with 150PS and 190PS. There is also a 240PS 2.0 liter petrol engine. The performance and fuel consumption suffer, but no so much. Mainly, because of the added extra weight and strengthening. The soft-top retracting mechanism is neatly snug below the belt-line and the distinctive shape of the original has been preserved to near perfection.

The Convertible Evoque boasts a lot of extras Terrain Response, surround cameras, Park Assist, an 8” dual view touch screen and a Meridian sound system. The vehicle sits on 21” wheels in Titan silver finish.

The design looks really stunning, but it is way better than Nissan’s creation from two years ago. Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be well appreciated by the customers for sure.

Arden Range Rover Evoque

“Auto Motor und Sport” is one of the well known automotive magazines in Germany and recently its readers voted the Range Rover Evoque as the most popular import SUV in the country. That is good news for Arden, a tuning house based in Germany that has more than 40 years of experience with British carmakes. Naturally, now they have introduced some enhancements for the Evoque which will give that extra character a good SUV deserves.

In a frontal view, the Arden Evoque makes an impression with its new, handmade, stainless steel mesh grill that has the company’s typical patterns. A party piece further back is the addition of illuminated side stainless steel pipes. They have been specially designed for the Evoque and subsequently they fit perfectly. You can use a remote control to turn them on for that instant glamor and functionality as well – light can come in handy when getting in or out.

Sadly the Arden Evoque won’t be too fit for off-roading for the springs are also of a special kind – the 30mm lower kind – while that might be viewed as a slight disadvantage, it does give the SUV an attractive road stance.

It’s not all shell decorations with the Arden people. The Evoque’s 2.2 Diesel engine has underwent an ECU tweak with an end result of 30 hp more power and 50 Nm additional torque. That may not sound a lot but it will certainly be felt at low and medium engine speeds.

2012 Kahn Range Rover Evoque Red

Here’s a presentation of the first Range Rover Evoque which was recently tuned by A.Kahn Design. Afzal Kahn received much appreciation for fashioning this unique vehicle. It is interesting fact that over 90 percent of Evoque customers are ‘newcomers’ to the product. More importantly they tend to be younger, living in the city and among them are far more women than man. Therefore this Evoque has already been snapped up by glamour model Katie Price’s protege – Amy Willerton.

First of all 2012 Kahn Range Rover Evoque Red features the red smooth contour, by which it is immediately recognizable. 2012 JAGUAR XKR-S CONVERTIBLE – Price $146 000

A Canadian debut at the Montreal International Auto Show (13^th – 21^st of January) will be made by 550 HP Jaguar XKR-S Convertible. Along with the high-performance sports car Jaguar XKR-S Coupe, this is the second fastest and most powerful production vehicle, which Jaguar cars ever produced. Manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is $146,000. Moreover the XKR-S Convertible has all the characteristics that have always defined legendary Jaguar GTs. It has the explosive performance, precise handling, relaxed comfort and discreet luxury. However this vehicle will take the Jaguar into a new performance level.

Jaguar Land Rover Canada will also present its 2012 model year line up at Auto Show. Namely: the 2012 Jaguar XF, XK, XJ and the XKR-S Convertible and the 2012 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, LR4 and LR2.

Let’s start with 2012 Jaguar XF: this is a sedan with the soul of a Jaguar sports car, because of its dynamic abilities and dramatic appearance. At the Auto Show will be showcased a redesigned version of the model, which will adopt the new Jaguar design language (introduced on the flagship Jaguar XJ sedan). Additionally, it will continue to feature dramatic ‘surprise and delight’ elements such as the JaguarDrive Selector™ that rises from the center console and air vents that rotate to their open position when the start button is pressed. Additional upgrades were made also to the XF interior. The pricing for the XF is $59,800; for the XF Portfolio – $65,800; and for the XFR – $86,900.

Next comes the 2012 Jaguar XK, which is dramatic and purposeful, yet as sensuous as only a Jaguar can be! Of course the 2012 Jaguar XK now has numerous revisions which will further improve its contemporary, assertive character. Complementing the design changes are 16 paint colors, four of which are new. A range of 10 alloy wheel designs, from 19 to 20-inches is available. The ‘Black Pack’ remains an option on the XKR. This package replaces exterior chrome with a gloss black finish, complemented by 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels. The package also includes body colored aerodynamic enhancements. The pricing for the XK Coupe is $98,625 ; for the XK Convertible – $105,625 ; for the XKR Coupe – $109,125 ; the XKR Convertible’s price tag is $116,125 ;XKR-S Coupe’s – $139,000 ; and XKR-S Convertible will go on sale for – $146,000.

The 2012 Jaguar XJ is truly a product of the 21^st century and is the clearest vision for the future of Jaguar. Subtle upgrades to the cabin were made to the 2012 Jaguar XJ range. A new Rear Comfort Pack is exclusive to the XJL Supersport flagship, and adds new standard features including rear seats that feature electric adjustment of the backrest recline angle, four-way lumbar support and a massage function. The Pack also includes new winged headrests, footrests and the ability for the front passenger seat to be stowed forward when unoccupied to increase rear seat room. On the long-wheelbase XJL Portfolio model, a new optional ‘Executive Pack’ transforms the rear of the XJL into a high-speed mobile office space with the provision of fold-down business trays and an electric rear sunblind for increased privacy. The package also includes improvements in carpeting, a combination wood and leather heated steering wheel, gloss wood veneer choices and chrome mirror housings. Additionally, two new performance packages are now available on XJ models powered by the supercharged engines: a new ‘Sport & Speed Pack’ is available on the 470 horsepower XJ and XJL Supercharged models, and a new ‘Speed Pack’ is available on the 510 horsepower XJ and XJL Supersport models. Both packs raise the top speed to 280 km/h, up from 250 km/h, and include functional aerodynamic upgrades to the exterior. The pricing for the XJ starts at $88,000; for the XJL Portfolio – $95,500; for the XJ Supercharged – $105,500; for the XJL Supercharged the price is – $108,500; for the XJ Supersport – $129,000; and at last for the XJL Supersport – $135,500.

At the Auto Show there also can be seen a Range Rover which, is the pinnacle of luxury SUVs. However the 2012 model is now enhanced in terms of luxury, appearance and capability. A new Silver Pack, available on the HSE with Luxury Package and on the Supercharged model, groups popular options at a significant value compared to stand alone option pricing. Moreover the new Autobiography version of the vehicle now comes with all new exclusive Exterior Design Package. The pricing of the HSE is $94,330; fot the Supercharged version – $112,320, and for the Autobiography – $138,740.

Other Range Rover models included are the Range Rover Sport models, which now has a styling refinements, significant audio/infotainment technology upgrades and additional amenities. The Range Rover Sport is powered by a 375 hp (276 kW) 5.0-liter V8 or a 510 hp (375 kW) supercharged version, and includes advanced chassis control systems, uniquely blend high-performance on-road dynamics with traditional Range Rover off-road capability, along with the brand’s renowned luxury. The new compact Smart Key fob is smaller than before however retains all of its functions, including lock, unlock, tailgate release and panic alarm. In addition, the steering wheel stalks are revised for easier use and higher quality appearance. The 2012 Range Rover Sport is available in HSE, HSE with Luxury Package, Supercharged and top-of-range Autobiography models. The price tag of the Range Rover Sport HSE is $73,650; the Range Rover Sport HSE LUX goes on sale for $77,750; the Range Rover Sport Supercharged -$89,450; and the Range Rover Sport Autobiography is at a price of $100,650.

The all-new Range Rover Evoque – is the lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced. However it still provides premium levels of craftsmanship, luxury, performance and Land Rover multi-terrain capability, while embodied in a more compact package. The price for the 5-Door Evoque is $46,995, and for the 3-Doors – $52,595.

Next comes the Land Rover LR4, which is a full-capability luxury SUV that deftly combines renowned off-road capability with premium on-road luxury and ride quality, gains significant audio, navigation and entertainment upgrades for the 2012 model year. Land Rover offers the LR4 with the HSE and HSE LUX upgrade packages, both of which include the 7-seat comfort package (standard on HSE LUX) that’s also available for the standard LR4. Numerous upgrades to the 2012 Land Rover LR4 standard and optional infotainment technologies connect the driver and passenger to the vehicle’s capabilities more easily and effectively. The pricing for the LR4 is $59,990; for the LR4 HSE – $63,790; and for the LR4 HSE LUX – $70,790.

The next Land Rover which will be presented at Montreal is the Land Rover LR2, which now has an enhanced interior and exterior. The exterior design changes include a new optional 19 inch Diamond Turned with contrast paint alloy wheel and two new stylish colours. The price of the vehicle is $44,950.

2011 Top 10 Tunings

If you wonder which are the most creative and astonishing tunings that we have seen during the almost gone 2011, here we have picked 10 of the most impressive ones. There were several factors that have been considered in order to make this top 10. First of all exterior tuning, next is the overall improvement in the performance, and at last is the changes made in the interior.

VILNER SATURN SKY

This unique Vilner design has made it through in our top 10. Vilner Saturn Sky boasts nice oriental blue exterior combined with a red interior. The tuner also included LED daytime running lights for the front bumper. However there is more attention put on the interior: it includes black Alcantara and carbon fiber trim parts, as well as new dials, a carbon fiber steering wheel and new upholstery. In the package is also included a newly fitted high-end Ground Zero sound system. Unfortunately there is nothing done to improve the performance of the car. It comes with its standard 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 260PS (194 kW) and 353Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h it accelerates in just 5.5 seconds.

MARANGONI RANGE ROVER EVOQUE

The next place in our chart goes for this beautiful tuning of Range Rover Evoque. As you can see it grabs the attention with its red tires, strange rims and a lot of carbon fiber all. The SUV also has an improved body kit which features redesigned front bumper and aluminum bonner with integrated air intakes, and a new rear bumper with an integrated carbon diffuser. In addition there are also carbon wheel arches, boot handle, bottom door guards and mirror covers. Furthermore the interior is improved by a lot of carbon fiber and some Alcantara. The last “touch” are the 20” OZ Racing Dakar wheels wrapped in 255/30 ZR20 red M-Power tires. To improve the overall performance of the car the Marangoni Range Rover Evoque comes with 60PS (44 kW) more, which means a total of 300PS (225 kW) from the 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. In addition the performance is further improved by a complete braking system – Tarox B360 with 10-piston calipers and and 330×26 mm composite disks.

BMW ALPINA B6 BI-TURBO CONVERTIBLE

BMW Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible tuning is based on the well known 650i model. It has all-aluminium bi-turbo V8 power plant which boasts 507PS (373 kW) and staggering 700Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. It accelerates from0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and its top speed is 311 km/h (193 mph). Moreover Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible also comes with complete aerodynamic package including front and rear bumpers and side skirts. There are also a four-tailpipe Akrapovic sports exhaust system and huge 20” alloy wheels. Concerning the interior the B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible has just the extensive range of standard equipment, which includes leather upholstery, fully adjustable comfort seats with heating system, navigation system with preparation for Bluetooth mobile phone, USB audio interface, Xenon lights and LED fog lights. Unfortunately there isn’t any upgrade in the interior. For this reason this special car has the number eight in our chart.

OAKLEY DESIGN LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR LP760-2

This Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is an every-day road-going car with great power and specifications. Oakley Design’s tuning of it is called LP760-2 and the model is only rear wheel drive. The vehicle has been stripped of its front differential and related components, so it is much lighter – totally 85 kg (187 pounds). Furthermore, the 6.5 liter V12 engine is upgraded to gain another 71PS and 55Nm. Hence, the total output is 771PS (567 kW) and 745Nm (550 lb-ft). In addition this amazing tuning stands on enormous Oakley Design P40 wheels with dimensions 9.0J to 9.5J x 19” at the front, and from 12.0J to 13.0J x 20” at the rear fitted with ultra-performance 255/35ZR19 and 355/30ZR20 Pirelli PZero tires. Further modifications are made on the aerodynamics which features: modified front bumper, new side skirts, revised rear bumper with a new diffuser. Furthermore it is powered by an in-house tweaked 6.2-liters V8 twin-turbo powerplant which is linked to a Ricardo 6-speed gearbox, the Chassis Number 03 – Venom GT is capable of producing the breath-taking figures of 1,200 horsepower and 1,155 lb-ft of peak torque, while boasting a curb weight of just 2,685 pounds! The overall result in power optimization is 462HP (340 kW) and 451Nm (334 lb-ft). The top speed is 317 km/h (197 mph). Snowmobile Porsche GT3 stands on Ultraleggera HLT CT by OZ in 8.5J x 19” and 12J x 19” fitted with 235/35 ZR19 and 305/30 ZR19 Yokohama Advan Sport tires. What about the interior: Magnat has used materials from highest quality such as leather, Alcantara and high gloss paintwork. All this let the GT3 shine in its unique design, the dynamic diamond patterns setting sportive and, in the same time, exclusive accents. In addition there is an audio system with 2100 WATTS.

MERCEDES SLR BLACK ARROW BY EDO COMPETITION

Edo Competition’s SLR Black Arrow is an extremely powerful vehicle that incredibly quickens the pulse when its pedal hits the metal. EDO COMPETITION KOENIGSEGG CCR

Edo Competition makes it with another tuning in our chart. This time the car is Koenigsegg CCR, which is the next level above super sport like the mighty Lamboghinis, Ferraris and Porsches.

CCR is powered by a 4.7 liter twin-supercharged V8. Edo Competition boosted the engine of this beast to the whopping 891PS (655 kW) thanks to an ECU re-map. The drive ratio is also improved to gain the hyper car better stability and faster acceleration. The top speed is 390 km/h (242 mph). There are also improvements in the interior, which has received Alcantara upholstery, a redesigned center console, a new infotainment system, and a tire pressure monitoring system that has a display integrated into the dashboard.

ABT AUDI R8 GT S

This ABT Audi R8 GT S got the place of number two in our chart not only because of the incredible outlook it has, but also because it produces 620PS (456 kW). This is due to the 5.2 liter V10 engine, which has received a number of upgrades. The convertible stands on enormous 20” ABT BR alloys or 19” CR Superlight rims. There are also some improvements in the interior: red carbon on almost every single detail, sports steering wheel, centre console, shifting gate and parts of the door panels. The remaining parts of the doors and the dashboard are upholstered with new leather. We can’t go further without mentioning the red safety belts and illuminated door sill panels for the overall powerful appearance of the ABT R8 GT S.

WIESMANN BLACK BAT

And the first place goes to…. Wiesmann’s Black Bat! The company SchwabenFolia in Korntal-Münchingen situated in Baden-Württemberg has created this astonishing Wiesmann MF5 V10 Roadster. The project name is Black Bat because it represents the ultimate Batmobile in reality! Everything is tuned in this car. Firstly this vehicle comes with an extra matte black exterior, door panels, engine room and the inner hood, as well as the completely foiled trunk and inner flap. This breathtaking tuned car is powered by the brilliant S85B50 – 5.0 liter V10 with 507PS (378 kW) at 7750RPM and 520Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque at 6100RPM. Furthermore the BMW’s Performance engine includes cast aluminum block with bed plate design split at the crankshaft axis, cast aluminum heads with four valves per cylinder and CNC machined ports and combustion chambers. All these engine boosts result in enhanced acceleration, which for the standard 0-100 km/h takes only 3.5 seconds. Moreover the top speed is more than 321 km/h (200 mph). You can see how amazingly this car looks. Its movie-like appearance is improved by the enormous BBS forged alloy wheels 10J x 20” with 285/30 ZR20 tires at the front and 11.5J x 20” with 325/25 ZR20 on the rear axle. Behind them, there are brembo 6-piston calipers with 308 x 32 mm perforated compound brake discs and 4-piston calipers with 380 x 28 mm discs at the rear. The interior is also enhanced thus: all in the interior is covered with high quality leather which gives the car the perfect finish! All results in the overall weight of 1395 kg. No doubt now that this car deserves the first place!

Startech Range Rover Evoque 3-door

Startech has announced the tuned version of Range Rover Evoque 3-door, which is turned from nice to amazing SUV. The vehicle was exhibited at the 2011 Dubai International Motor Show.

Startech Evoque 3-door comes with complete aggressive body, a set of huge 9J x 21” forged alloy wheels wrapped in 265/40 R 21 Continental tires. The stance is further improved by a lowered suspension by 35 mm. Other touches to the exterior include a sports exhaust system and roof-mounted rear spoiler. All body components are manufactured in OEM quality from high-grade Pur-R-Rim plastics.

The interior is also revised by installing an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel and aluminum pedals. There are also a new foot rest and a gear shifter. The finest leather and Alcantara in any desired color are used for the seats and door panels. The trim is from wood or carbon-fiber also in any desired color and with a wide variety of surface finishes.

The mighty 2.0 liter SI4 turbocharged petrol has received a performance package, but there is not data about the new power. Originally, it produces 240PS (177 kW).

Marangoni Range Rover Evoque

Here is a nice way to spoil e beautiful car – just add red tires, strange rims and a lot of carbon fiber all over on your stylish Range Rove Evoque. The same thing did the Italian tire specialists from Marangoni, who exhibited the “tuned” Evoque at the 2011 Bologna Motor Show.

The SUV also has a new body kit including redesigned front bumper and aluminum bonner with integrated air intakes, and a new rear bumper with an integrated carbon diffuser. There are also carbon wheel arches, boot handle, bottom door guards and mirror covers. The interior also features a lot of carbon fiber and some Alcantara.

The last “touch” are the 20” OZ Racing Dakar wheels wrapped in 255/30 ZR20 red M-Power tires.

Besides the ridiculous look, Marangoni Range Rover Evoque comes with 60PS (44 kW) more, which means a total of 300PS (225 kW) from the 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. The original torque is 380Nm (280 lb-fT), but there is no data about the new one. The gain is thanks to a new turbocharger, larger stainless steel exhaust system with a 200 cell metal catalyst, and a new air intake. To make sure everything works perfectly, an ECU re-map has been made.

The performance is further improved by a complete braking system – Tarox B360 with 10-piston calipers and and 330×26 mm composite disks.

2012 Range Rover Evoque US Price – $43 995

2012 Range Rover Evoque is set to hit the US market and the price starts at just $43 995 for the five-door variant. However, if you want the three-door configuration, the price is a bit higher -$44 995.

2012 Range Rover Evoque US is powered by a a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine from Ford delivering 240PS (177 kW) and 340Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and the power is sent to the road through Haldex AWD system. The performance is great – 0 to 96 km/h (60mph) in just 7.1 seconds and the top speed is 217 km/h (135 mph). Still, the fuel consumption is 28 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in the city.

The vehicle boasts LED lighting , premium leather upholstery and nice alloy wheels fitted with low-profile tires.

The first deliveries will start in the fall.

Range Rover Evoque price – £27 955

Range Rover Evoque finally hits the market in the UK. The interesting thing is the price of the super stylish vehicle. The prices start at just £27 955 for an eD4 Pure 5-door 6 Speed manual 2WD model and the 4WD equivalent is priced at £28 705.

Evoque is available with a choice of three engines and two body styles. The options list is huge and there are also a lot of accessories. The vehicle is offered in either 5-door or Coupe variants. The top-of-range Evoque Si4 6 Speed automatic Dynamic coupe with LUX pack is available for £44 320.

The engine range includes an updated version of 2.2 litre turbodiesel with 150PS and 190PS. The 2WD Coupe with 2.2td (150 PS version) will achieve sub 130 g/km of CO2.

The new 2.0 litre Si4 turbocharged petrol engine develops 240PS. It features ect fuel injection, turbocharging and twin variable valve timing for exceptional driveability and fuel-efficiency. The acceleration is great – 0 to 60mph in 7.1 seconds.

The options list includes 12 exterior colours, three contrasting roof treatments, seven alloy wheel designs, 16 contrasting interiors and a full sized, fixed, panoramic glass roof.

Pure with TECH Pack

Many of the key technology features available in the range have been brought together in a TECH Pack to enhance the Pure theme even further. The pack includes the following additional features:

Heated windscreen and windscreen washers

Opting for the TECH Pack represents excellent value, adding just £1,900 to the standard Pure prices.

Arden Range Rover Evoque

Arden has introduced a tuning program for the new Range Rover Evoque. The project name is AR8 City-Roader. The tuning company offers both – styling and performance packages.

The 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine is boosted to the hefty 270HP, which is an increase of 30HP. There is no information about the torque, but probably it is increased, too. The result is thanks to a new sport exhaust system with a high performance catalysts.

The styling package includes front and rear aprons, and illuminated side skirts. AR8 City-Roader stands on huge Dakar II rims with a stainless steel plaque that includes your personal lettering can be placed in a specially designated hollow.

The interior can be improved by the program from ARDEN E-Solutions. It offers three main areas of audio, multimedia, and security. There is almost no limits to customers’ personal requirements.

The price list is not announced, yet.
