  • Porsche teams chooses Multimatic for damper technology. Details here

2021 Porsche 911 GT3 CupMultimatic has been the choice of Porsche to supply the spec damper for the new 2021 Porsche 992-based, 911 GT3 Cup Car. The Mulimatic DSSVTM dampers are widely used in the motorsport world, including in numerous 2021 Formula 1TM models.

The dampers have been the choice of ambitious teams across the wide spectrum of different race categories for 20 years. From Formula 1 and Formula E to the high-end GT and sportscar racing, many of the single-seater race vehicles and even the grassroots racing.

Also, Red Bull Racing took all its Formula 1 World Championship victories using these same Multimatic dampers. The Ford GT won the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans on Multimatic DSSV and the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo which dominated Nürburgring Nordschleife and scored a new record was running on Multimatic DSSV. Even Mazda RT24-P will soon return to the Serbian Raceway where back in 2020 these same Multimatic DSSV dampers helped the vehicle to ride the bumps and achieve victory in the 12-hour race.

    2021 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

Now, every new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car which competes in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and many more Carrera Cups will greatly benefit from the same Multimatic technology.

SEE ALSO: 2018 Audi A8 receives exclusive set of Cor.Speed alloys

As it comes to the dampers themselves, these are based on a unique technical approach and provide high-fidelity hydraulic damping by adopting precision spool valve technology. This setup allows for enhanced predictability, accuracy and repeatability. The high-frequency response of the spool valve ensures excellent transient characteristics and its turbulent flow regime minimizes the temperature effects and the basic architecture of the damper removes cavitation and enables low charge pressure.

  • Porsche 914 Concept

    2021 Porsche 914 Concept1

Classic Car and prestige car builders Fifteen Eleven Design have embarked on their next project, the creation of a contemporary and unique Porsche 914 from their premises in Bakewell, Derbyshire.

Fifteen Eleven Design, the classic arm of World Rally Championship team Mellors Elliot Motorsport have over 40 years’ experience in engineering and building bespoke cars for competition and road use, and will put their expertise into creating a classic Porsche 914 with a dynamic modern twist, launching in 2021.

The mid-engined, targa-topped roadster has been reimagined to feature a host of modern materials and elements, including a high-end performance braking and suspension system, Porsche Cayman 3.4S 6 cylinder engine and a 6-speed transmission.

Combining the classic yet often overlooked features of the Porsche 914 with innovative upgrades, the project will see bespoke examples available in both right and left-hand drive from their factory in Bakewell, Derbyshire.

When not building rally cars for international championships, Mellors Elliot Motorsport has been commissioned to carry out a host of manufacturing ventures across the decades. With bespoke projects increasing recently, it has led to the firm creating a new brand to cater for the additional workload.

From its inception, Fifteen Eleven Design have been responsible for a series of pioneering projects, centred around the classic and resto-mod culture. Offering a wealth of services from design, prototype creation, manufacture and build, they have been commissioned to carry out a series of tasks such as restoration, ground-up rebuilds and motorsport conversions.

Unique in-house facilities have enabled them to prepare an original factory 1934 Mille Miglia MG K3 for the legendary Goodwood Members Meeting and bespoke modifications to a Morris Traveller including a 1310cc race engine, telescopic dampers, anti-tramp bars and bespoke full red leather interior.

From their own concept and design, Fifteen Eleven Design created a Ford Escort Mk1 Speedster, offering a short wheelbase, 24 valve V6 powerplant, 5-speed Getrag gearbox and a host of modern ancillaries.

Perhaps the flagship commission from the firm was their stunning restoration of a 1962 Maserati 3500 GT ‘Iniezione’ which enjoyed a successful debut at the esteemed Salon Privé Concours D’elégance last year by securing the runner-up spot in Class J (Post-War Touring – Closed, four-seater) class.

Now, in the next phase of the firm’s expansion, a Porsche 914 will make it from the concept and graphic render phase to reality, marking the latest offering from the UK-based firm. The modern interpretation of the 70’s classic, offers the highest specification of build whilst incorporating the latest technology to produce a uniquely superb driving experience.

Managing Director of Fifteen Eleven Design Chris Mellors is eager to see the concept hit the road in 2021.

“All too often we hear of graphic renders being produced with no intention of being built but here at Fifteen Eleven Design all our efforts are put into making sure any concepts are carried through to completion,” he says.

“Our vision is to re-create classic cars into modern-day restorations which anyone would be proud to drive and the Porsche 914 will be just that. It has an impressive specification that should address the pitfalls of the original, whilst giving owners many technological advantages of today’s engineering and manufacturing processes.

We are delighted to be able to offer these for sale to the general public and are happy to build bespoke examples in either right or left-hand drive. It’s a very exciting project and its certainly just one example of what we are capable of. Our engineering and manufacturing expertise spans over 40 years and we are always putting that to good use. The chassis work is already complete so we are now entering a very exciting phase of the project”.

Order books are now open for the Fifteen Eleven Design Porsche 914.

  • JMS tuning

    2020 JMS tuning

As a result of the global corona pandemic, a year with practically no tuning fairs and meetings. After the Tuning World Bodensee in Friedrichshafen and the PS Days in Hanover, also the undisputed highlight of the year of the refinement and customization industry, the Essen Motor Show, was canceled, so that the community in this extraordinary season – apart from a few smaller events – practically only could come together online. How relatively this “only” can be rated, however, was shown by the tuning specialists at JMS Fahrzeugteile by hosting a mega-tuning event on the last Saturday of November and sending it out into the world via a professional live stream from the large forging hall of Motorworld Manufaktur Metzingen.

In front of the great backdrop of the historic industrial building, JMS Managing Director Jochen Schweiker and especially presenter William De Fensfoster from d-fens.tv presented products and project vehicles from JMS customers, suppliers and business partners to the livestream viewers – even some world premieres were unveiled.

For example, the suspension experts from KW suspensions rolled a Lamborghini Huracán with the brand new Variant 5 coilover suspension into the colorful spotlight of the forge hall, which was also equipped with an exclusive Novitec finish: In addition to a Torado N-Largo kit, the Italian fighting bull was wearing 9×20- and 12.5×21-inch rims with tires of the dimensions 245/30R20 and 325/25R21.

ST suspensions, also a brand of the KW universe, presented the ST XTA Plus 3 coilover kit with 3-way adjustment as a world premiere. This was already installed in a Focus ST with 19-inch Motec MCR2 ultralight wheels.

One of the program highlights was undoubtedly the world premiere of the two new wheel designs from the Barracuda Racing Wheels brand sold by JMS: The new “Dragoon” design from the Barracuda Ultralight Series was already installed on a VW Golf, while the Nissan Silvia drift car from the Drift Team “Driftinglele ” rolled on the new Barracuda motorsport rim “Summa”. Both wheels will be available in three different colors from next spring.

JMS Fahrzeugteile presented various tuning conversions, the focus of which was on different segments, such as chassis technology, exhaust technology, body kits, wheels and much more. Particularly impressive: vehicles created as joint projects, for example in cooperation with KW, Eisenmann, Friedrich Motorsport, Senner Tuning, TR Exclusive, cardiologie and Schwabenfolia, such as a BMW M2 Competition, a Ford Focus ST or a 360 hp Cupra Leon ST.

The exhaust gas experts from Eisenmann Exhaust provided the audience with technical information about their exhaust systems and presented a 3-series BMW of the current generation G20 with Oxigin alloy wheels and a Z4 with gasoline particle filter as project vehicles. As a world premiere, Eisenmann had brought new tailpipe variants.

The “Multimedia” tuning segment was not neglected either: the Gladen car hi-fi specialists presented various components, illustrated by vehicles such as the BMW X5, Tesla Model 3, Hyundai i30 N or Mercedes-AMG A 35.

RaceChip presented an increase in performance via a chip tuning box for the new Golf 8 and provided interesting information about the product range.

  • Complete Transformation: The Motopark GT3 RS Rallye Mod for the road

    2020 Porsche von Motopark

This name has been synonymous with countless successes in international motorsport series and a great deal of race track expertise. It is not for nothing that famous names like Valtteri Bottas or Max Verstappen learned to race here under team boss Timo Rumpfkeil from scratch and finally ended up in the top class of motorsports.

Of course, it’s just natural to transfer this concentrated expertise from the race track to the road:

After the first conversions of a Porsche 997 GT3 for Olaf DOBBERKAU and Ruben ZELTNER to a rally version, the former Swedish racing driver Kevin KLEVEROS approached the Motopark professionals with a very special request:

His Porsche 911 GT3 RS – a true feast for the eyes and a real rarity even in its original condition – should get a complete Rally Mod. And Rally should not only stand for a martial optic in WRC-style but also for a corresponding performance, which is in no way inferior to the optics!

And of course, the remaining comfort of the GT3 RS of the 991 series should also be retained in order to continue to be used to its full extent on the road.

The result is truly something to see – and above all heard!

Because a handmade stainless steel exhaust system with even further optimized throughput ensures that the not exactly quiet high-revving boxer gets the acoustic stage it deserves. By the way, a specially developed Air Scoop on the roof sucks in fresh air at all times – and this part looks pretty cool on top of everything else.

With regard to the suspension, the Motopark team was also able to draw on practically unlimited resources:

The Full-Spec-Rally-Dampers with special tuning, adjustable in compression high/low as well as rebound, are made by REIGER and feature both a rebound control valve and a corner control valve. A thermostat provides identical damping in cold and warm conditions. Naturally, springs and stabilizers have also been reworked and got into shape for tough off-road use.

A fat underbody protection and mud flaps not only protect the GT3 RS from stones and other loose objects, but also give it the look befitting its intended use.

Another damn cool gimmick: The Fly-Off handbrake with ABS Kill-Switch ensures bold drifts in gymkhana style on any surface at any time.

It is well known that it gets dark early in Sweden, especially in the winter months – but that doesn’t cause too many problems to the off-road high-flyer from Oschersleben: A huge Nightface (carbon bracket) with extremely bright Xenon auxiliary lights turns night into day.

On the deceleration side, Porsche already provided a very good basis, which is why hardly any modifications were necessary: The brake pads with rally specification have a higher coefficient of friction and thus ensure better cold grip.

Since this rare gem is not suppose to flattened its tires – or in other words just sitting around in a car collection later but will also experience species-appropriate movement. Therefore the safety side was also upgraded: In the interior the Motopark team has installed a safety-cage extension which is optionally available from Porsche. A rally counter calculates distances, average times etc. via GPS and a reading lamp for the co-driver is included, too!

For the matching “war paint” of the GT3 RS, the Motopark crew – at the request of the customer – finally got Hajo LEMKE from 811 design on board.

The result was an overall concept that also delivers the performance promised by the martial appearance. And a vehicle that – despite its continued registration – will not be seen again on public roads in the near future.
