  • Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet by Porsche Exclusive

Porsche-911-Turbo-Cabriolet-by-Porsche-Exclusive-THUMBPorsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet by Porsche Exclusive is a demo vehicle which we have just found at Porsche’s official Facebook page. The brand has published scarce information about the car, but we were delighted to see more than just one picture, which you can view below. The project by Porsche Exclusive is stunning and immediately catches the eye. At first glance, one can see the contrast between the Slate Grey paint job and the red interior.

The 911 Turbo Cabriolet has been fitted with Bi-Xenon main headlights finished in black. They include Porsche’s Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and headlight cleaning system painted. In addition, the powerful exterior presence of this vehicle is further reinforced by the 20-inch 911 Turbo wheels on which it runs. They are painted in high-gloss black.

Furthermore, the company has decided to personalize this cabrio even more by giving it personalised door sill guards made of carbon fiber. But this was not enough for the designers so they decided to illuminate them.

Inside, the interior is wrapped in Garnet Red leather and features decorative stitching in contrasting black. In fact, Porsche have added here its PCM package which comprises of air vents in leather and centre console trim in carbon fiber.

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet made an official debut at Los Angeles Auto Show in November last year. As a matter of fact, it is the most expensive Porsche one can order with a price tag of $193,900 USD.

The car is powered by a 3.8 liter turbocharged flat-six engine, generating up to 560 horsepower (412 kW). It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 314 km/h (195 mph). The combined fuel consumption in accordance with EU 6 is 9.7 l/100km, while the CO2 emissions are estimated at 227 g/km. s

  • Porsche Boxenne S [render image]

Here is a nice render image of Porsche Boxenne S, which is a mixture between the recently announced Macan crossover and Fiat 500. The hardcore fans of Porsche will curse it, but as the market demands these days, the Boxenne could be a real hit.

The render image is published by X-Tomi Design, who obviously has some very nice ideas. The small affordable Porsche Boxenne will never happen, but it will be surely appreciated. Still, we think that it will be better, if Porsche announce smaller model than Cayman. A direct rival of Lotus Elise and Alfa Romeo 4C will be very interesting.

If Porsche produces a smaller version of Macan, it could be fitted with some powerful engines. For example the Macan S is powered by a 3.0 litre V6 bi-turbo engine – 340HP (250 kW) and accelerates 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds. A 7-speed double-clutch transmission transfers power to AWD system. The top speed is 255 km/h (158 mph), and its NEDC fuel consumption figures are between 31.4 and 32.5 mpg, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of between 212 and 204 g/km. All these figures will be drastically improved, if the weight is lowered as well as the improved aerodynamics.

Imagine what will do the Boxenne S with the same engine!

  • StudioTorino Introduces Moncenisio Porsche Cayman [VIDEO]

2014-StudioTorino-Moncenisio-Porsche-Cayman-Concept-THUMB\A new coachbuilt Porsche Cayman S Type 981 by the professionals at Studiotorino was presents recently at the National Automobile Museum of Turin. The concept vehicle was dubbed as Moncenisio and is to be available in a limited production run of 19 units.

The name of the car is inspired by Italian motor sports and specifically by the Susa-Moncenisio race, which was the first hill-climb competition in the world. The first race took place in July 1902 and was won by Vincenzo Lancia in a Fiat 24 hp.

This concept Porsche retains the standard for the model architecture, frame, mechanics, engine, emissions, safety and reliability characteristics. However, manual modeling and styling of the body, painting and interior trimming were utilized.

The prototype you can see on the pictures below is characterized by the code name S.F. 1/1. In fact, it pays homage to Francesco Stola, who is the father of Alfredo Stola – the founder of Studiotorino.

The styling of the Moncenisio was inspired by the iconic 1963 Porsche Type 904 and this one of the Studiotorino’s 2006 RK Coupé. However, the car has more contemporary, clean and dynamic lines.

The blue exterior paint scheme is eye-catching and was specifically developed fir this project. The body color as well as the interior recalls the reflection of the sky upon the lake at the summit of the mountain pass.

  • 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 – Active Rear Steering [video]

Originally, Porsche has presented the Active Rear Steering with the 918 Spyder Concept and now the all-new 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 comes with the same one as standard. The active rear-wheel steering drastically helps the handling and this means faster lap times and incredible traction improvement.

The Active Rear Steering will turn the rear wheels in opposite direction of the front ones at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph), while beyond that barrier, the rear wheels are going to turn in the same direction to improve stability. This is possible thanks to two actuators which are in charge of steering the rear wheels up to 1.5 degrees.

    2014 Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a 3.8 liter flat-six – 475 HP (349 kW) and 438 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h (195 mph).

  • Porsche 918 Spyder – Nurburgring Lap Record – 6 minutes and 57 seconds

2014 Porsche 918 Spyder managed to set a new record at Nurburgring for a vehicle with global road homologation. It managed to close a lap at the famous Germany circuit in less than minutes.

The 918 Spyder has achieved exactly 6 minutes and 57 seconds. What is more, the new Porsche blends maximum driving dynamics with minimal fuel consumption. The record, which was previously held for four years, was broken during the first attempt in the test drive programme on the morning of 4th September.

All three drivers – Former European Rally Champion Walter Rohrl, Porsche test driver Timo Kluck and Porsche factory race driver Marc Lieb – were quicker than the existing record with each lap, driving the two 918 Spyder models used. Each driver posted lap times of less than seven minutes on numerous occasions. Ultimately, it was Marc Lieb who posted the absolute best time of 6.57 minutes, driving at an average speed of over 179.5 km/h(111 mph), as measured by Wige Solutions.

Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6 liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 608HP (447 kW) and 530Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. There are also two electric motors with 156HP (115 kW) and 129HP (95 kW) at each axle (front and rear). The maximum combined output is 887HP (661 kW) and over 800Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph).

  • Porsche 919 Hybrid V4 2.0 liter Turbo Engine

Porsche 919 is officially unveiled in Geneva, which means that the manufacturer is actually returning in Le Mans competition. The LMP1 car packs all latest technologies as well as extremely powerful and economical drivetrain and super lightweight chassis.

The drivetrain consists of a newly developed single-turbo V4 2.0-liter direct-injection gasoline engine working with a front axle-mounted electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. The V4 engine revs up to 9,000RPM and sends the power to the rear wheels, while the electric motor provides momentum for the front ones, which means a temporary AWD.

There are also two energy recovery systems – a brake energy recovery and a thermal energy recovery system incorporated in the exhaust system. This means an 8 MJ (megajoule) / lap energy recovery boost function. Actually, this is the maximum allowed under current LMP1 regulations.

According to the race regulations, the Porsche 919 Hybrid must not exceed a length of 4,650 mm and a height of 1,050 mm, and vehicle width must be between 1,800 and 1,900 mm. The car’s aerodynamics have been fine-tuned in over 2,000 hours of wind tunnel testing since February 2012. Aerodynamics make an important contribution to the overall efficiency of the race car and reduce air drag while supplying the increased cooling air needed for the hybrid drive and the downforce needed for high cornering speeds. The aerodynamic design of the Porsche 919 Hybrid can be modified for different course characteristics.

  • Porsche Macan 3-door [render image]

Here is an interesting version of the all-new 2014 Porsche Macan, which originally comes in only 5-door variant. The 3-door variant has been previewed by TheophilusChinand according to us looks really nice.

Just like the Evoque 3-door by Range Rover, the 3-door Macan comes with more sloped roofline and more desirable and cleaner look. It fact, it is a real eye-catcher and Porsche should definitely consider such variant.

Three years ago, when the Macan emerged for first time, it was in a three-door configuration, but Porsche Decided to leave the rear doors in place, so the car looks exactly like a smaller Cayenne.

Of course, the engine range will be exactly the same, but the interior will suffer a bit and especially the rear passengers, who will have a lot less space.
