  • 211 Horsepower Porsche Boxster Offered in Europe

Not so regular version of the Porsche Boxster leaked through the webpage of Porsche Belgium. The car is powered not by its typical 4-cylinder engine, but by a 2.7 flat-six engine. The unit is producing 211 horsepower which equates to 155 kW. In fact, the car was unofficially unveiled on the site, because it hasn’t been yet confirmed by the German manufacturer.

The official figures “speak” that with this engine the Boxter will be capable of delivering 280 Nm (206 kW) at 4500–5300. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) is estimated at 6.4 seconds with manual transmission. The 991 GT3 has an updated 3.8 liter boxer engine with 474HP (349 kW) and 440Nm (326 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is connected to a 7-speed PDK automatic transmission sending the power to the rear wheels. Although the car is 60 kg heavier than Sabine’s car, it does ¼ mile in 11.2 seconds.

“Compared to my car is a rocket!”, she commented.

  • Porsche Has Bought The Kyalami Race Track in South Africa

Porsche South Africa has bought the Kyalami Race Track at auction for a whopping price of $19.4 million (around €14.4 million). The track hosted a number of F1 race events between 1967 and 1993.

The local community was quite worried that the race track would be bought by a construction company, which would demolish the famous circuit and build town houses or a residential area on the place. The plan of the German manufacturer isn’t revealed, yet, but according to High Street Auctions’ Lance Chalwin-Milton commented that Porsche will keep Kyalami circuit as a track. Of course, the sport facility can be developed, which will enhance the value for the lot.

It is very possible that the Kyalami Race Track will turn into a Porsche Experience Center, but nothing is official for now.

As you may recall, the world’s famous race track – the Nurburgring has been also officially sold in March, this year. A company based in Dusseldorf – Capricorn Development has put the winning bid in the last minute – $106.8 million (€77 million).
