  • 2014 Peugeot 308

Peugeot has announced the all-new 2014 308 model. It has mpact dimensions and reduced weight (-140kg). Its driving experience is top-class and its CO2 emissions create a new benchmark (with a version at less than 85 g/km).

At the front, slim Full-LED headlamps, expressive and chiselled like a piece of jewellery, define the feline and technological look. They are standard on the upper trim levels, a world first in the segment.

A refined interior and innovative instruments and controls (the Peugeot  i-cockpit) promise a great driving experience. Its high level of quality, the result of a very ambitious initial design brief, positions the vehicle among the best, embodying Peugeot’s move up-market.

The center console has a big 9.7” touchscreen display, which replaces a great number of the conventional buttons.

The car is expected to make its official debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

  • Sebastien Loeb with Peugeot 208 T16 hits Pikes Peak

Peugeot has published a new footage on Youtube showing Sebastien Loeb testing the super-fast 208 T16 Pikes Peak.

The Loeb’s Red Bull-sponsored 208 T16 will take place in the Unlimited Class, which means that it will be astonishingly fast. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.2 liter V6 with whopping 875HP (652 kW), the small racer is able to accelerate 0-100 km/h in an almost unbelievable 1.8 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The 240 km/h mark is reached in 7 seconds.

“I’ve never driven anything that accelerates so fast!”, commented Loeb.

“In the lower gears, a Formula 1 car doesn’t deliver maximum power. With the Peugeot, though, it’s bang, bang, bang as you move up the box from standstill. Thanks to its four-wheel drive transmission and turbocharged engine, its pull-away performance is phenomenal! You find yourself in sixth gear at 240kph in no time at all!”, said the professional race driver

  • Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak Racer Revealed [VIDEO]

Peugeot-208-T16-Pikes-Peak-Racer-THUMBPeugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak Racer is going to participate at the contest Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 30 and behind its wheel will be the nine-time world rally champion Sébastien Loeb. The motorsport vehicle was engineered and designed in order to meet the specific needs of the famous American event.

208 T16 Pikes Peak will compete in the ‘Unlimited’ category. This class is famous with the fact that it allows plenty of technical freedom. This means that this Peugeot is aggressive and ferocious.

It has unique design and the proportions it embodies are very different to those of the production 208. The result is beast-like appearance. Some of the technical constrains here however were in terms of body width and height, location of the wheels and engine.

The sculpted forms of the car undoubtedly combine style and aerodynamic efficiency. 208 T16 Pikes Peak incorporates many distinctive hallmarks of the 208 but at the same time marks a new generation of Peugeot design.

In terms of aerodynamics the car is exceptional. Some of the highlights here, which were disclosed so far, include rear wing, which is that of the Le Mans 24 Hours-winning 908, and the splitter of the car, which gives it its beast-like attitude. Of course, in the body of this 208 predominates carbon fibre.

Stay tuned because the performance potential of Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak will soon be unleashed.

  • 2013 Peugeot 2008 – More than an urban Crossover

Peugeot has officially announced the new 2008 urban crossover. The vehicle will make its appearance at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March. The car is in the same class as Nissan Juke.

The 2008 is based on Peugeot 208. It is 4160mm long, which is 25mm longer than the Juke. The exterior reminds to 208 a lot. The front and rear lights are identical as well as the front grille. The difference is the ride-height as well as the driving position. Both are raised in order to get better view, comfort and more safety. An innovation is a complete body kit including new bumpers and side skirts.

The 2008 rolls 17” wheels fitted with low-profile tires. It is interesting that the car won’t get AWD, so this may hurt the off-road capabilities. Still, there will be a “Grip Control” traction control, which is the same one found in the larger 3008.

The engine range will include a new three-cylinder 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol. The diesel variants are two – a 1.4 liter HDI and a 1.6 liter HDI. The emissions will be below 100 g/km of CO2.

Stay tuned for full information and prices.

  • Petrolicious: Time Machine [VIDEO]

Petrolicious-Time-Machine-THUMBHave you ever wondered what a car’s life would be like? Of course, I don’t expect from you a positive answer, but just a rising interest of what it is all about. If I have done this, then you should definitely watch this video, where the fellows from Petrolicious follow one Peugeot through its circle of life.

The video below tells the story of Venisio Pagani from Cortona, who’s passion is to restore old cars that have history and stand out from the crowd immediately. He shows a Peugeot which he has found by accident at a swap meet.

But what made the car so special to him was the fact that back in the days his father had driven the same model. You will also hear how Venisio restored this car and what challenges had he faced during this process. And more importantly what kind of “surprise” eventually had he found …
