  • 2017 PEUGEOT 5008 SUV: beautiful and promising. Check it out!

2017 PEUGEOT 5008 PEUGEOT 5008 is here and shows some sweet features. It will try to enrich the whole C segment and it will try to impress all PEUGEOT enthusiasts and critics. What we have here is a beautiful and confident vehicle with numerous hi-tech gadgets and neat modern-day additions. Of course, the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit is present, along with Efficient Modular Platform 2 and plenty of safety systems. So, let’s dive in and see whether this one is worth the time and money.

    Exterior design

The new PEUGEOT 5008 confidently represents brand’s vision for aesthetics and beauty: this vehicle is massive, muscular and aggressive. And where’s the beauty about that you will ask? The beauty, my friends, lies within the perfect combination of aggressiveness and elegant details. There are fine straight lines, just enough curves and above that all the needless details are just gone. There you have it. Pure beauty.

We see a wide and beautiful front grille with chrome accents, glossy black strip at the back, blended with signature LED “claw effect” rear lights and large exclusive and eye-catching wheels with neat design. And yes, we like it.

    Interior design

    2017 PEUGEOT 5008

It looks just fine. And super hi-tech. There are two infotainment displays, multifunctional steering wheel and just enough buttons, to aid the driver in any road situation. What I personally do not like, though, is the addition of cheap-looking plastic onto several places in the cabin.

However, also a notable feature is the new kind of seat configuration: there are three matching, separate folding seats in the second row that can be adjusted in length and inclination. Also, there are two removable separate folding seats in the third row. And last, but not least, there is a total of 1060 liters of luggage capacity.

    2017 PEUGEOT 5008

In terms of comfort and pleasure, PEUGEOT team has done some good job with sound insulation and also added some sweet goodies: optional multipoint massage system for the front body-hugging front seats, FOCAL premium Hi-Fi system, panoramic glass roof, Mirror Screen Function and 3D connected navigation system.

The assistance functions also contribute to that feeling of comfort and pleasure. Buyers will be granted with Advanced Grip Control, exclusive Hill Assist Descent Control, Automatic Emergency Braking System, Distance Alert, Active Lane Keeping Assistance, Driver Attention Warning, Smart Beam Assistance and Adaptive Cruise Control. Cool.

    Drivetrain system

    2017 PEUGEOT 5008

The all-new 5008 SUV features Efficient Modular Platform 2 and the latest available Euro 6.1 engines. Customers have the choice of a diesel or petrol system and will be pleased to know that both systems offer CO2 emissions as low as 117g/km for petrol and 108g/km for diesel power units.

So, do you like it? We think that PEUGEOT team has done a good job with this one. However a truly comprehensive review can be created when we see the vehicle rocking the streets. This will happen in Spring 2017. Meanwhile, stick with us!

  • PEUGEOT 2008: what should we expect? Or, more correctly, what should we NOT expect

2016 PEUGEOT 2008 GT PEUGEOT 2008 Compact SUV hits showrooms next week! Audience will have the chance to see what is going on with PEUGEOT’s plans for the future and see brand’s latest offerings. We have already told you about the 3008 GT SUV – it is not bad, but still there are some tweaks to be done. So, what are we to expect from its smaller brother?

PEUGEOT 2008 has been updated and tweaked a bit. The exterior design is a familiar one: apparently the design team decided to keep to these well-known lines and expression. And yes, this means that the ugly headlamps and the stupid front grille smile are still present. Even the new Ultimate Red color finish cannot hide the annoyingly popular face expression.

    2016 PEUGEOT 2008 GT

Coming in three trim levels, Access, Active and Allure, 2008 also keeps the same interior styling, or the so-called PEUGEOT i-Cockpit. To be honest, the interior does not look that bad: premium feel and exclusivity are not present, neither are some elegant and smooth lines, but it looks comfortable and functional. The compact steering wheel looks just fine and the 7-inch multifunctional touch screen should do the job.

What we also know so far is that 2008 will be offered with Grip Control function, standard feature for all trim levels, along with a set of special all-season tires. Cool! Buyers will also be granted with MirrorScreen, rear-view camera, Active City Brake system and Park Assist function.

    2016 PEUGEOT 2008 GT

And the drivetrain? Well, as you may have already guessed: nothing special, but it still can deal with many road situations. Good thing is that the power unit is a Euro6 certified one and is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is a 1.2-liter PureTech unit with a total output of 130hp: if you are using the vehicle on daily basis and don’t expect sporty wonders, you should remain happy with it.

So, what do we have so far? Ugly headlamps: check. Stupid smile: check. Strange styling lines at the back: check. Cozy-looking interior: also check. Descent drivetrain unit: check. By far it looks like a regular PEUGEOT model, but who knows what the manufacturer hides under its sleeves? We will find out next week!

  • PEUGEOT 3008 GT: was this an actual required addition to the lineup?

2016 PEUGEOT 3008 PEUGEOT team unveils the most dynamic version of the recently showcased 3008 SUV: the GT. Looking tight and confident, the GT bad boy aims to deliver pleasure of driving, comfort and of course, some enhanced sporty spirit. An honestly, with the 2.0-liter BlueHD power unit and EAT6 transmission, there’s a chance for us to love this vehicle.

In terms of exterior appearance, this one shows some clean and modern lines, that further refine the characteristics of a SUV. The elegant profile incorporates some neat stainless steel components, while the proportions give it some lower and more dynamic expression. And all this is topped with exclusive 18-inch matt Haria alloys.

The rear also contributes to that muscular stance with the GT badging, double chrome exhaust pipes and the overall elegant and sporty stance.

Honestly, we do like the exterior styling of the 2008 GT. If it didn’t come with these sort of ugly front headlights and overall funny-looking face, but hey, who cares? It is a sporty version of a sport utility  vehicle. Maybe that was PEUGEOT’s idea. A sporty, sporty car. Nice.

    Interior styling

    2016 PEUGEOT 3008 GT

Of course, the 3008 GT comes with the latest PEUGEOT i-Cockpit feature along with its elegant dashboard.  There is a large 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 8.0-inch capacitive touch screen. Long story short, as any other contemporary vehicle, this one is also fraught with tons of technology gadgets. The question which one is useful and which one is not remains.

Apart from the gadgets, the cockpit offers fine Aikinite copper double-topstitching on the dashboard, door trims and central armrest. This mellow color scheme is continued on the virtual dials and can be seen everywhere in the cabin.

  • Peugeot Reveals 308 Racing Cup Edition Based on 308 GTi

Peugeot 308 Racing Cup and Peugeot 308 GTiPeugeot 308 Racing Cup is the most outrageous and radical model in Peugeot’s line-up. Based on the 308i GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT, this racer is entirely ready to take a leading position on the racetrack. And here is why.

    One-off Design

The racing car was designed by the team at Style Peugeot, who has obviously done its best since the generous proportions and aerodynamic forms we see. What we immediately see here is that the wheel arches of the racing car were widened so that they can house the huge 18-inch wheels.

As a matter of fact, the larger overall width has been extended to 1,910mm. This is an addition of 106mm to the 308 GTi.

SEE ALSO: 2016 Peugeot 308 GTi Unleashed! To Debut at Goodwood [Detailed Review]

What is more, the designers have added a very cool spoiler at the rear, and they have taken inspiration directly from the WTCC regulations. Both front and rear bumpers and front splitter are also unique to the 308 Racing Cup.

    Powerful Engine

Peugeot 308 Racing Cup Front View

The 308 Race Cup is powered by the same 1.6-litre THP engine that drives the bonnet of the 308 GTi. However, there is only one little difference here. The Racing Cup car produces 38HP more than the GTI. In other words, the racer generates a total of 308HP (226 kW).

We have to mention that this is only the first stage of development of the engine. Brand’s engine specialists have already surpassed the 308-horsepower thresh-old, offering even more potent and radical performance.

    Race Bred

Peugeot 308 Racing Cup Rear View

There are a lot of similarities between the 308 Racing Cup and the 308i GTi. And although the racer has borrowed a lot of elements of the suspension from its road-going counterpart (like pivots and rear beam), in other areas it features parts that are dedicated for a racetrack use.

Precisely, company’s engineers have added specific parts like the six-piston brake-callipers. In addition, the six-speed sequential gearbox got steering wheel-mounted paddle-shifters. At last, the 308 Racing Cup weighs less than the car on which it is based. It will be restricted between 1,000kg and 1,050kg.

Where to See Peugeot 308 Racing Cup and How About Buying it?

The really good news is that from the end of 2016, 308 Racing Cup will be available to customers around the globe. But before that, anyone who wishes to see it will have the opportunity of doing that at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. A demonstration run is scheduled for the end of October at the Paul Ricard in France.

  • PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross: Dissapointment Comes With Orange Stripes

PEUGEOT 2008 Urban CrossPEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross special edition is finally here. It was the expected move by the brand, after it released 2008 Crossover Special Edition. The Urban Cross has numerous goodies to demonstrate, so let’s waste no more time and get started.

PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross and the additions

    Drivetrain system

PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross strictly follows its predecessors and comes with Active badge level, which greatly benefit this model especially. Now the Special Edition comes with two powerplant options: the 1.2-Liter PureTech 110 hp (80 kW), which offers 108/km of CO2 or the 1.6-liter BlueHDi 100 hp (73 kW) S&S with 95 g/km of CO2 emissions. If I have to be honest, we expected some more power, but the good fellows at PEUGEOT decided this is more than enough. I wonder what customers and fans think about the power output.

    PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross

    Exterior

In fact, there is nothing so interesting about the exterior design of the PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross. You will deal with the same old funny and stupidly “smiled” grille and the same  old long headlights. The designers and engineers definitely tried to add some confidence and ready-to-go stance, but the overall look of the front is just.. boring. Just like the back. It demonstrates the same boring lines and contours, that together create an empty and blank space. But don’t lose hope. There is at least one interesting feature. The sides come with interesting stripes in orange color. But the patter is made good, without the annoying attention-seeking character of the orange. The lines are almost stylish and make the impression of blending with the body color. Not that bad solution, when I take a second look.

SEE ALSO: 2016 Peugeot 308 GTi Unleashed! To Debut at Goodwood [Detailed Review]

    Interior

Sadly, there isn’t also something interesting about the interior too. Although it could be a cozy place for one to be, the style looks also boring and made without any passion. However, it looks safe and ready to offer all it has to offer to the driver. The back seats also continue this uninteresting affair. In fact, only the luggage space compensates with all the volume it has to offer. Hopefully it will compensate the overall disappointing interior concept.

    PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross

With all this said, I hope to hear some opinions and I await you to write what you think about PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross special edition.

Boasting exclusive styling front and rear, the cars are 11 millimetres closer to the ground when compared to the previous generation. At the front the engineers decided to install full LED headlamps, at the both sides of the black radiator grille with a horizontal chequered pattern and gloss-black finishing.

We also notice the same approach on the air intake, which has been surrounded by sequential LED indicators and a red detail strip. Chrome has been used on Ultimate Red cars. Below the bumper, there are two aero front spoilers.

The sides of the cars have been redesigned significantly and now feature aggressive door sills. On the other hand, at the rear there is a gloss-black section housing the twin exhaust pipes.

Peugeot’s i-Cockpit has been also applied. It features centrally-mounted, driver-facing touch-screen with great functionality, Redline theme and user-friendly approach. As an option, Peugeot has also developed a special Driver Sport Pack. Thanks to it, with just a press on the Sport button on the centre console, the display changes from white to red. It also shows additional information on the central read-out like power and torque.

    Drivetrain & Braking Technology

2016 Peugeot 308 GTi Gearshift Lever

Under the hood of the new 2016 Peugeot 308 GTi is the specifically developed by PEUGEOT SPORT 1.6-litre THP S&S engine. It comes in two variants, with outputs of 250hp (182kW) and 270hp (200kW).
