  • Nissan Launches 2014 Teana

2014-Nissan-Teana-THUMB2014 Nissan Teana has been launched today and has been specifically prepared for the Japanese, Chinese and North American markets. This is the third-generation Teana, which is created under the theme of “driving performance”. In fact, the car optimally balances driving performance and comfort.

Of course, as a true Nissan model, the new Teana has a premium visual stance. The exterior is sportier and more vibrant, wider and more aggressive. The sharp character lines of the model are extending from the front face rearward and evoke fluid momentum. The car also features improved aerodynamic efficiency.

Next to the existing exterior colors, the designers at Nissan added a new one – “Waterfall Blue” which was inspired by the hue of a waterfall and which highlights the premium presence and quality feel of the sedan.

The interior on the other hand, inherits the concept of Omotenashi. In Japanese Omotenashi means hospitality, which fully takes form inside the cabin. The latter is highlighted by a distinct character line that stretches from the instrument panel to the door trim. In addition, inside there is enough space for 5 occupants.

The front seats have gotten a new design features one of which is the “Spinal Support Technology” that greatly improves passenger comfort. The front passenger seat has been enhanced and now includes an enlarged support area of the ottoman, while rear-seat occupants are treated to ample knee room.

In terms of performance, 2014 Teana has been fitted with a new multi-link rear suspension system, which provides excellent turn-in response, supple ride quality and enhanced handling. The Active Trace Control refines handling and minimizes steering corrections.

Under the hood of the car “sleeps” the QR25 engine that comes coupled with Nissan’s XTRONIC CVT transmission. This combination delivers exceptional acceleration, an ample supply of low- and mid-range torque, as well as great fuel economy (14.4km/L).

When it comes to safety, a wide variety of safety and convenience features are at hand. To name one, there is available the crash avoidance support technology – Around View Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD). This system detects moving objects around the car, and is helpful when maneuvering in parking lots.

In addition, there is also being included as an option the Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) systems. The Advanced Drive Assist Display offers navigation and controls for the in-car entertainment system, as well as important data for the car’s numerous safety features.

2014 Nissan Teana will go on sale on 5th of February at brand’s showrooms in Japan.

  • 2015 Nissan Micra Debuts At Montreal Auto Show

2015-Nissan-Micra-THUMB2015 Nissan Micra has made a debut at the Montreal Auto Show. It was also announced that the vehicle will be officially released on sale this spring. The car combines the masterful Japanese quality of technology with the unprecedented European styling and heritage, hence delivering more fun, attention to detail and efficiency.

Micra MY2015 was built with the aim to change the automotive landscape by providing great visibility, impressive agility and excellent turning radius, exceptional fuel efficiency, small size but yet spaciousness inside and a competitive price.

This Nissan model will be offered in three trim levels: Micra S, SV and the top-of-the-line SR. Each of them can be equipped with either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. Every trim level will hide under its hood an advanced 1.6-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine with dual fuel injection and Twin CVTC.

Unfortunately, the brand ha no current plans to release the car in the United States, so in North America it is to be found only in Canada. Therefore a logical conclusion is that it will be extensively tested and perfected for the Canadian driver and will include features such as heated outside mirrors, rear heater ducts, 60/40 split rear seats and either 15 or 16 inch wheels.

  • Nissan Sport Sedan Concept Previews The Future 2015 Maxima

Nissan Sport Sedan Concept was teased in the beginning of this year when it showed to the public its futuristic looking front-end design and avant-garde LED head-lights. At the Detroit Auto Show the concept was fully revealed boasting performance, innovation and technology.

Sport Sedan Concept marks also the celebration of company’s 80th anniversary. The vehicle is a design study with a particular highlight on next-generation design and sporty style. It actually previews the future production 2015 Maxima, which is intended for those keen on cutting-edge design and driving dynamics.

Along with the Nissan Resonance and Friend-ME, the car includes signature design aspects that we will see in the future Nissans. Such are the V-Motion front aspect, “floating” roof and boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights.

To go further into details, the exterior of this Nissan features low and wide proportions, with a lowered hoodline and reduced ground clearance. The “V-Motion” movement of the front end flows from the dramatic chromed grille up through the hood. At the front are positioned the large LED boomerang headlights, a deeply scooped front fascia and wide and sloped windshield.

Next, the profile of the vehicle also makes a powerful impression. It has a dynamic bodyside lines adding a strong sculptural feel and connecting the wheels and tires. Precisely, the Sport Sedan Concept runs on custom 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheels mounted with low-profile 275/30R21 tires.

At the rear we see high deck, large chrome trunk accent and wide and deeply scooped rear fascia. At last, the final touch of the exterior’s unique appearance is the “Strad Amber” paint, which is a result of the application of an orange-amber topcoat over a base of gold paint.

The interior of the concept vehicle also previews some key new design elements of the future production cars. For instance, premium materials are found throughout, diamond-shaped graphics on the quilted seats have been applied, and panels were included that add to the sense of dynamic motion. The interior also features high-contrast colors and facet metallic accents.

  • 2014 Brings A Redesigned Nissan NV200 London Taxi

2014-Nissan-EV200-London-Taxi-shadow2014-Nissan-EV200-London-Taxi-mediumWell then, this NV200 is Nissan‘s take on the London cab concept, and does it look scary or what? Shouldn’t act so surprised really, since this is not the first time Nissan has tried to pass a van for a London taxi. In fact, they’ve been doing it around the world. Must be a response to the global obesity crisis. It’s the looks that really have the most shock value.

Obviously, there’s a London cab (Hackney Carriage) tribute lingering in there, but it just sends shivers down our spines and not in a good way. It’s creepy – round headlights and a smiley new grill. As close as something inanimate comes human likeness, the more anxiety it causes in people. Not our words, look it up. It’s called the “uncanny valley” hypothesis. Science!

What’s more fascinating is that it’s also a bland, soulless NV200. The plan is to put it on the streets at the end of this year with a 1.6-liter petrol engine in it, which is supposed to be “far cleaner, with lower levels of NOx and particulates” when compared to the current diesel London Hackneys. Official, though not final, estimations point to 10mg/km of NOx emissions and 1.0mg/km of particles. Again, not surprising for a petrol. It’s won’t be particularly punchy as well, with 115 hp under the bonnet and a tiny bit more than that in lb-ft torque. Alternatively there will be an all-electric version called the e-NV200. It will arrive in the UK at some point in 2015 – silent and creepy.

The debutant will be joined by the North America premieres of the Nissan IDx Freeflow and IDx NISMO concepts.

  • Senner Bling the Nissan Juke Nismo

    2013-Senner-Nissan-Juke-Nismo-shadow2013-Senner-Nissan-Juke-Nismo-medium

Senner pride themselves with their work on various Nissan 350Z and 370Zs. But anything that’s worthy of the attention of Nismo is worthy of the attention of Senner. Enter the Nissan Juke Nismo – an already vicious powerhouse of aggressiveness, sportiness and testosterone.

The first thing you might notice about the Senner Juke is the prevailing black and white. It is an especially pronounced theme on the Oxigin Oxrock 14 wheels with a “white-wrap-refinement” on the rim well. We wouldn’t call it refinement though. Too flashy for our liking. The sizes: 9,5-inches wide, 20-inch diameter fitted with Continental Sport Contact 5P 255/30 tires. The whole vehicle also sits 35 mm lower to the ground with Senner’s springs

Senner haven’t really tried to improve on the Nismo aerodynamic package. Instead, they have went for small accesorizing – wind deflectors on the side windows, LED daytime running lights, LED license plate illumination and, of all things, Philips Silver Vision chromium flashing indicator bulbs.

Now to the more serious stuff. The Juke’s 1.6-liter engine has received a boost in power because of some witchcraft with the electronics and because of the brand new INJEN-Cold Air Intake module. That’s 225 hp (as opposed to 200 hp) and 275 Nm of torque (as opposed to 250 Nm).

For the appropriate soundtrack, Senner have thrown in their custom made stainless steel exhaust system with ridiculously wide end-pipes.

The whole thing, provided that you already happen to own a Nissan Juke Nismo, will cost you around $12,222. We can’t say if it’s worth it or not.
