McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition is Formula 1 inspired anniversary car

McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition and The M2B Race Car Can you believe that it is 50 years since McLaren appeared for the first time at Formula 1 at the 1966 Monaco GP. And ever since then all models of the brand feature technology used in motorsport racing, in one way or another. Such example is the 570S Coupe, which is the first Sport Series road-legal model with its carbon fibre MonoCell II, carbon-ceramic brakes and Brake Steer technology all derived from the pinnacle of motorsport.

To celebrate these remarkable 50^th years of success, the company has introduced the McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition, which is inspired on brand’s first Formula 1 car – the M2B. The festive 570S Coupe features the same livery as the M2B: central green stripe and silver edging.

Like all other McLarens, this 570S has been hand-built at the McLaren Production Centre (MPC). The build process started with the carbon fibre MonoCell II, which is an innovative passenger cell that forms the core of the 570S and is strong and stiff. It also contributes for 50kg less weight when compare to the aluminium and steel-based rivals.

The M2B served as inspiration for another feature: the car-style double-wishbone suspension with adjustable dampers. Along with it, the 570S also gets Adaptive Dynamics Panel with three modes (Normal, Sport and Track), located in the centre of the luxurious hand-stitched leather interior.

McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition is driven by the 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 unit connected to a Shift Gearbox with rocker-shift controls. The engine produces 570PS (562bhp), helping the 570S to accelerate from 0-100kph (0-62mph) in just 3.2 seconds. The top speed has been electronically limited to 328kph (204mph).

The stopping power of the model is ensured by the carbon-ceramic brakes, which have been also derived from Formula 1. The advantage here is that they resist fade even under very hard utilization. In addition, the 570S also uses Brake Steer technology.

All in all, this 570S is the perfect example for what McLaren has always stood for, since the day of M2B’s debut in Monaco.

McLaren F1 #069 Concours Condition exclusively for sale by MSO

McLaren F1 #069 front view Imagine that you have a chance to own a real new McLaren F1! How cool would it be? You can actually do that (if you have the money and are faster than Shmee 150), since an example of the F1 with chassis number #069 has appeared on the surface. What is even better, it has covered only 2800 miles, which makes it like a new one… well, almost.

A little bit of history is necessary here. The F1 is actually considered the model which has rewritten the supercar rule book. There were only 64 roadcar examples built between the years 1993 and 1998. These facts actually make the McLaren one of the rarest and highly-regarded models among collectors and petrol-heads.

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has found one of the last ever and finest examples of this model almost in factory condition. It has covered less than 2,800 miles since new. Built in 1998 as one of the six F1s produced then, the #069 was the 60th unit created.

The supercar is dressed in Carbon Black and is complimented by subtle detailing throughout. Specific highlights include a stealth finish to the 17-inch centre-locking magnesium wheels, central driving seat in black and contrasting red leather, and the dual passenger seats wrapped in Alcantara.

Built after knowledge gained in Formula 1 expertise, the McLaren F1 was the first road car to include a full carbon fibre chassis. It has and with a central driving position and engine bay lined with gold. Driven by a bespoke naturally-aspirated mid-mounted 6.1-litre V12 engine, this car produces 636PS (627bhp) and hits a top speed of 390.7km/h (242.8 mph). In fact, more than 20 years on, the F1 still holds the title of fastest naturally-aspirated production road car ever built!

McLaren 570S Coupe Safety Car Revealed. Official Guard at the British GT Championship

McLaren is the official Safety Car partner of the SRO-run British GT Championship this season. After the opening round this weekend at the famous Brands Hatch circuit, the car was revealed in all of its opulence and powerful characteristics. McLaren 570S Coupe Safety Car has taken the lead role in safety and management of the field of GT cars. Some of the latter include other McLaren models like the 650S GT3 and the 570S GT4.The vehicle will be on the track in all nine rounds over seven race weekends. It will take care for the optimum safety of the participants at all times.

In fact, safety is a feature substantial for the 570S Coupe, because of its lightweight and strong carbon fibre chassis! If you remember well, the model was the firs one introduced as a McLaren Sports Series. This means that it features motorsport-derived technologies and excellent performance.

For example, its power is transferred onto the rear wheels from the mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 engine. It produces 570PS (562bhp) and 600Nm (443lb ft) of torque. In addition, due to the lightweight chassis, it is capable of power-to-weight ratio of 434PS per tonne.

The One And Only McLaren 675LT Spider: Why Do We All Love It

2015 McLaren 675LT Spider McLAREN 657LT Spider was unveiled at the end of 2015 and marked the next chapter in the history of the iconic “Longtail” name. As you might know, the lineup is limited to only 500 units worldwide that were sold out in just two weeks. The latest model is complete respond to all the customer demands: the 675LT Coupe features light weight, improved aerodynamics, enhanced agility and of course, some exclusive additions that further boost the feel of uniqueness and luxury.

The focus for the 675LT is clear: the vehicle is especially created to deliver optimal performance rates, excitement and pleasure of driving. And in order to achieve it, the engineering team managed to reduce the weight with 100kg by the extended use of carbon fiber components. Also, under the bonnet there sits the heavily revised 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 675hp (496kW) and 700Nm of torque available between 5,000 and 6,500rpm. The revised engine system also includes optimized turbos, detail design changes to the cylinder heads, new camshafts and more.

All this, in terms of performance, means that the beauty accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (0-62mph) in just 2.9 seconds, while the 0-200km/h (124mph) sprint is completed in mere 8.9 seconds. The top speed is 326km/h (203mph) and despite the high performance rates, the 675LT remains relatively efficient: it returns 24.2 mpg on the combined cycle, while CO2 emissions remain at 275g/km. Not that bad, right?

The dramatic styling and confident stance of 675LT is retained with the Spider variant by proudly demonstrating extended front splitter, flanked by front wing end plates, each working the airflow harder and increasing downforce. The carbon fiber door sills run along the lower edge of the bodywork and flow into a smaller air intake ahead the rear wheels.

Also, the retractable hard top strows below a color-coded tonneau cover and the power unit remains visible through a lightweight vended polycarbonate engine cover. The rear also benefits from lightweight titanium crossover twin exhaust exit, placed below the active Longtail Airbrake. And despite the large size of the flowing rear wings, the carbon fiver construction ensures weight reduction and stability.

McLaren Announces the Track-Only 570S GT4. Pricing Starts at £159,900

McLaren 570S GT4 Front View McLaren 570S GT4 and 570S Sprint are the two new models dedicated for the track. They are part of the recently-launched Sports Series and were developed in conjunction with McLaren GT. The bigger news is that the 570S GT4 will also enter an intensive season-long development program in the British GT championship. In fact, the McLaren GT and CRS GT Limited will work with the team Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse (which will compete with the aforementioned model alongside the entry of the 650S GT3 with Factory Driver Rob Bell and Alaisdair McCaig) in the full nine round calendar.

The 570S Sprint has been only announced and will be revealed very soon. This one is dedicated for private trackdays and this means that it is unrestricted by any racing regulations. Nevertheless, the 570S Sprint can be upgraded eventually to GT4 specification.

Another announcement made by McLaren Automotive is the confirmation of the new Motorsport Director Ansar Ali, who will be responsible for on-going strategy and management of motorsport activities.

570S GT4 is track-only and has the carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis architecture just like the other models in the Sports Series. The carbon material will provide not only inherent strength to car’s body but will also make it light in weight. Driver’s protection is secured by the FIA-approved rollcage and fire extinguisher system. Except for the architecture, carbon (and aluminum) has been used for the reprofiled bodywork. Cast magnesium alloy wheels shod with slick Pirelli racing tires carry this exclusives-looking body. Driving dynamics are ensured by the two-way adjustable motorsport dampers with coil-over springs at the front and the rear. The on-board air jacking system is fitted as standard.

The aerodynamic package is a must when it comes to focusing on the laptimes. Therefore the 570S GT4 is fitted with high level rear wing, mounted on aluminium pylons, a larger front splitter and reprofiled floor assembly. There is an additional front centre high temperature radiator, which sits below a GT3-inspired bonnet with radiator exit ducts, optimizing performance and cooling at the same time.

Carried over from the road-going Sports Series model is the engine, which is the 3.8-litre twin turbo V8. It is connected to a seven-speed seamless shift gearbox that drives the rear wheels.

McLaren 570S GT4 will be revealed at the opening of the British GT Championship at Brands Hatch, UK between 16^th and 17^th April. It has a starting price of £159,900. We do expect in the upcoming weeks additional details, pictures and pricing for the 570S.

MSO to Showcase Carbon Fiber Tribute to P1 and Limited 675LT Spider in Geneva

McLaren 675LT Spider and P1 by MSO McLaren and MSO (McLaren Special Operations) are going to have a strong presence at the Geneva Motor Show this year. MSO division is going to pay a carbon fibre tribute to the P1™ which was recently stopped from production. In addition, MSO will also display a bespoke version of the 675LT Spider which is actually making first public appearance after it was sold in weeks. They will line up alongside the new 650S GT3 racing car and a future production car that will join the Sports Series family.

Starting with the P1 by MSO, this is one of the 375 road legal versions produced. It is adorned by a full visual carbon fibre body which has been hand-laid, and is painted in ‘Lio Blue’ tinted lacquer. The exclusive look of the car is strengthened by a gloss black finish to the wheels, an extensive new trim of the interior with carbon black Alcantara and contrasting blue stitching. There is even a 24-carat gold exhaust heatshield.

This car is making public debut in Geneva and is actually limited to only 500 examples globally. Painted in Ceramic Grey it also feature an abundant carbon fibre trim. Even the hardtop is made of “satin” carbon fibre. It retracts at speeds up to 40km/h (25mph) and saves 1kg, while the front wings include carbon fibre louvres.

The body color was also used for the ‘Longtail’ Airbrake. The lower plane shows the natural carbon fibre weave as do the aerodynamic front bumper end plates, side skirts, side intakes and rear bumper. Inside dwells a pair of black Alcantara trimmed racing seats with contrasting Xenon Yellow stitching with the rotary Handling and Powertrain controls on the Active Dynamics Panel finished in Solis.

Gold detailing has been used here too. It is visible through the exposed engine bay with a 24-carat gold heatshield around the titanium exhaust system. At last, we should say that the performance for the 675LT Spider by MSO will remain unchanged, meaning that it will be powered by the 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 with 675PS (666bhp) and 700Nm (516lb ft). Just as a reminder, the figures which it generates are: 2.9 seconds for the acceleration spring from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) and a top speed of 326km/h (204mph).

McLaren Announces Plans and Details Ahead of Geneva Motor Show

2016 McLaren 650S GT3 After witnessing one of the most successful seasons for McLaren team, the brand announces further plans. One of the most recent news is that the 650S GT3 will be showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, along with other three McLaren vehicles.

Furthermore, the Factory Drive lineup will be refreshed with the 24-year old Come Ledogar. The young driver found that the GT races are more interesting than the one-seater events and now he plans to take a shot at the Blancpain Endurance Series with the McLaren 650S GT3.

Also, Rob Bell, 36 and Alvaro Parente, 31, will continue the relationship with McLaren GT. As you might know, the pair has managed to mark some incredible achievements and victories, including championship dominations with the 650S GT3.

Ant the fourth driver, Colin Thompson, 21, to join the Mclaren GT Driver Academy team, along with Alex Fontana, Struan Moore and Andrew Watson has made strong impression over the past seasons with his remarkable achievements that include securing the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup title back in 2014, later followed by the Pirelli World Challenge Porsche Cup championship. The young American from Doylestown, Pennsylvania now will join Parente as part of the K-PAX Racing/Flying Lizard Motorsports two car lineup with Pirelli World Challenge.

One-Off McLaren MP4-12C High Sport Expected to be Auctioned for More than $1.5 Million at Mecum

The depicted and very rare McLaren MP4-12C High Sport in silver/black/red exterior color is going to be auctioned at the Mecum Auctions’ Kissimmee event next year. The one-off sports car is of course a deed of McLaren Special Operations (MSO), which has an intriguing history making it more and more expensive as the days pass by.

What’s the deal here. Originally this High Sport variant of the MP4-12C had to be produced in a limited run of only five examples. However, there was a big interest among customers so basically MSO made it in ten units. This is actually chassis number 9, but it is one-of-a-kind because it is the single of those ten which has a Formula 1 Vodafone Racing Team colors.

This unit is also responsible for delivering exceptional performance, craftsmanship and exclusivity, making it go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed well north of 200 mph.

McLaren Special Operations’ spirit is also imbued in this 12C GT3 racer. There are a lot of reasons for this, but mainly because of the redesigned front and rear bumpers with side air extractors and louvers on top of the front fenders. These measures increase down force, reduce drag and improve brake cooling.

Also very cool about this project is that it is only on 208 miles. Its uniqueness is further strengthened via the signatures under hood from the winning McLaren team drivers and crew to celebrate victory at Nuremberg, Germany. Speaking about features here, we must also mention the Stealth Package, sport exhaust, carbon ceramic brakes and carbon fiber engine package.

The ninth McLaren MP4-12C High Sport is driven by a mid-mounted 3.8L twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, which is coupled to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. It has three driving modes: Normal, Sport or Track. It also includes specially designed travel cases and rides on special bi-color 20-inch lightweight Diamond cut racing wheels.

The interior features a Meridian sound system with navigation, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, carbon fiber, Alcantara and leather in F1 team colors.

It is expected that the price of the car at the Mecum Auctions reaches $1,300,000 – $1,600,000. The event will happen at Kissimmee, January 15-24.

Meet the Last McLaren P1™ with Production Number 375

The First and Last Edition of McLaren P1 Say goodbye to McLaren P1, because its 375th and final example was just produced… And that’s it for the P1. This brings the curtain down for the most technologically advanced and dynamically accomplished supercar ever created! If you remember, the launch of P1 was lined with an important aim: to be the best drivers’ car on road and track. And it has proven to be one indeed.

The production start was in 2013 and all cars were sold prior to the first one being delivered. And by the way, the first P1 was finished in Ice Silver paintwork and featured a lot of carbon. And each of these 375 examples was custom-built to the exacting specifications of its owner. This of course, didn’t happen without the help of the team at McLaren Special Operations (MSO), which have ensured that no two cars are the same.

The Last P1

The absolutely last example of the McLaren P1™ is finished in stunning pearlescent orange. The color was achieved via unique tinting process and its echoes the shade of the 64th and final McLaren F1 roadcar, with chassis number #075. And in fact, this color also inspired the Volcano Orange paint scheme, which is available today across the McLaren Automotive range.

In addition, the 375th McLaren P1 features carbon fibre splitter, diffuser and the aerodynamic blades along the lower body. It also rides on super-lightweight wheels that come in silver finish. MSO “touched” the interior and included gloss black detailing for the switchgear, instrument bezels and air conditioning vents. Carbon fibre is also used for the racing seats, which were upholstered in black and orange Alcantara contrasted with appropriate also carried on the steering wheel.

McLaren P1 was the first model in the exclusive Ultimate Series, powered by a combination of a petrol engine and lightweight electric motor. The supercar also features wide range of new technologies as well as weight-saving technologies and materials such as the including the extensive application of carbon fibre. Therefore the McLaren P1™ has a dry weight of just 1,450kg.

This car and its coupe sibling open a new chapter in the history of the iconic ‘Longtail’ name. The sad news is that it will be strictly limited to only 500 examples worldwide. Just like its coupe, the spider is too focused on reduced weight, better aerodynamics, increased power and track-focused dynamics.

Typical for the 675LT family is that they are driven by the revised 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 powertrain. Therefore the power output and torque for the spider variant are the same, namely 675PS (496 kW) delivered at 7,100rpm and 700Nm (516lb-ft) available between 5,000-6,500rpm. Acceleration from 0 to100kmh (0-62mph) happens in only 2.9 seconds, and the sprint to 200kmh (124mph) is rated at 8.1 seconds. The top speed is 326km/h (203mph).

If you wonder about how big the fuel consumption is, then I will have to disappoint you because this McLaren returns 24.2mpg on the EU combined cycle and emits only 275g/km of CO2.

Exterior Full of Carbon

At the core of the building of the 675LT Spider is the focus of on the lightweight technologies and materials as well as on the aerodynamic performance. This of course means nothing else but an extensive use of carbon fibre for the bodywork, including the front bumper with larger splitter and end plates, front under body, side skirts, side intakes, lower side intakes, rear bodyside lower, rear fenders, rear deck, rear bumper, diffuser and ‘Longtail’ Airbrake.

As a result the dry weight of the car measures just 1,270kg, which is 100kg lighter than the 650S Spider. Another effect is the power-to-weight figure of 532PS per tonne.

Unlike the coupe, the Spider sits on new lightweight springs and a wider track, which has been increased by 20mm. In addition, the supersports car runs on 10-spoke Ultra-Lightweight forged alloys that are sized 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear. They have been fitted with P Zero™ Trofeo R tyres.

Furthermore, the exterior paint palette includes Silica White, Delta Red, Napier Green and Chicane Grey paint finishes. There is a new deep golden color, called Solis, which is the bespoke color available exclusively for the open-top 675LT Spider.

Interior Filled with Lightweight Components

The cabin is adorned by Alcantara and bare carbon fibre. For instance, the lightweight material has been used for the racing seats, which offers the best lumbar support and visual charm. Unlike the coupe, there is an addition of exclusive Xenon Yellow contrast stitching.

This package will give any customer the chance to enhance its McLaren 675LT Spider with more carbon and stealth detailing. It is offered in Titanium Silver, Storm Grey, Onyx Black and Chicane Grey, while the Ultra-Lightweight wheels are stealth finished. There is also a satin carbon fibre finish applied to the front wing end plates, lower side air intake and the centre of the rear bumper, along with the side intakes, wheel arches, wing mirrors and ‘Longtail’ Airbrake.

Detailing of McLaren Orange has been added to the brake callipers, embossed leather and stitching. They come in the heritage color made famous by the Formula 1™ and Can-Am racers of Bruce McLaren.

Meet the One and Only McLaren 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 by MSO

This is McLaren 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 by MSO and it is unique. Since there is no doubt about that let me tell you more. The car has debuted today at the Dubai International Motor Show as an exclusive to Middle East MSO project. The special model was accompanied by the 570S Coupé and a custom McLaren P1 at the event.

Why 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 is One-Off?

First, it has been developed by McLaren Special Operations. If you don’t know already, this is McLaren’s division responsible for bespoke craftsmanship. Secondly, the car will be available exclusively for Middle East customers. Third, it is dressed in a uniquely formulated paint scheme and carries bespoke specification.

‘Al Sahara’, which literally means ‘desert’ in Arabic, was the inspiration for the pearlescent white gold paintwork of the car. The paint finish includes a subtle shimmer, inspired by the golden sands. And exactly this shimmer has been achieved through the addition of 24 carat gold particles. By the way, the precious metal has an atomic number of 79. Now you get the whole picture, don’t you?

Except for the one-off paint scheme, other really cool exterior features here are the retractable hard top and the gloss black lightweight forged alloy wheels. In addition, carbon fibre has been used for the side intakes, front splitter and rear diffuser as well as the MSO-branded Side Blades.

Inside, the cabin is wrapped in black and Almond White leather upholstery contrasted with the appropriate stitching. The Al Sahara 79 paint scheme can be seen on the steering wheel, centre console and door panels as well as around the heating and ventilation controls. At last, a dark golden finish has been utilized for the switchgear and heating vents.

Just like the 650S Coupe and 650S Spider, the Al Sahara 79 is powered by the mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 engine. If you can’t recall the figures, the unit produces 650S PS (641bhp) at 7,250rpm and 678Nm (500lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h is covered therefore in 3.0 seconds onto the way of reaching the top speed of 204 mph (329km/h). At the same time the car still manages to achieve 24.2mpg (EU combined) cycle and CO2 emissions of 275g/km.

McLaren Starts Training Program In Order Drivers Tame the P1 GTR Beast

McLaren P1 GTR Programme The most exclusive McLaren owner experience has taken to the track for the first time at the Circuit de Catalunya , Spain. The debut of McLaren P1 Driver Programme witnessed seven examples of the track-only units. Furthermore, each owner tried out the most powerful McLaren vehicle so far, supported by a trustworthy pitcrew, around the home of Formula 1, Spain.

McLaren P1 GTR Driver Programme is a special exclusive membership programme, offering special driver training, human performance and access to the unique McLaren racing simulator ahead of track activity. This programme is especially designed to prepare each driver physically and mentally in order to allow them to fully operate the 1000 hp (735 kW) McLaren P1 GTR. Each individual will be working with a special team from McLaren Special Operations in order to achieve high results and prepare to tame the one of a kind machine.

Also, there will be a dedicated team of driver coaches, lead personally by McLaren Automotive Chief Test Driver, Chris Goodwin. This highly experienced team will work with each individual driver in order to help them achieve best results possible. The importance of such a team was highlighted by two owners that proved extremely competitive after Bruno Senna, Driver Mentor set a benchmark laptime.
