  • Mazda Shows the Back of MX-5 Miata Concept Ahead of Chicago Debut

The first-generation MX-5 Miata was introduced in 1989 during the auto saloon in Chicago. At the rear we see new lip spoiler and diffuser-style lower valance. We sincerely hope that it is made of carbon fiber! There is also the typical for the vehicle design, so there is nothing surprisingly different about it.

2016 Mazda CX-3 is the fifth-generation model, which next to the MX-5. CX-5 and Mazda2 will go into overdrive at the Geneva Motor Show in early March. The Japanese company will launch the new CX-3 in six months. Mazda says that the new crossover is perfect for European drivers because it is compact and ideal for city driving. The vehicle will be offered in AWD or FWD format and of course will incorporate carmaker’s sleek KODO design language.

In addition, it will also offer unmatched combination of performance and fuel efficiency due to the utilization of the SKYACTIV Technology. Furthermore, the fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 that was firstly revealed in September, features inspiring new exterior design as well as more SKYACTIV engines. Its lightweight design refers to the roots of the original model that was launched over 25 years.

The next car on display in Geneva is the Mazda2, which raises the bar for the B segment with wide range of equipment. • The All-new Mazda MX-5 Redefines the Driving Experience

Smaller, lighter, nicer and fresher from the ground up – this is the fourth generation Mazda MX5! Comparing it to the 1989 model, the new one is shorter than the original version and loses more than 100 kg of its body weight.

Becoming the essence of every Mazda model, 2015 Mazda MX5 undoubtedly redefines the idea of fun and pleasure when it comes to driving. To maximize the lightweight aggression which the car presents, the automaker equips it with a SKYACTIV – G direct-injection 1.5-litre petrol engine matched to a six-speed manual gearbox. It produces 131 PS (96kw) at 7,000rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 4,800rpm.

Exteriorly, Mazda MX5 conveys a certain harmony due to the blend of top-notch design and well-crafted proportions. With its nicely-sculptured front, the new MX5 knows how to make an impression. Since the engine is mounted lower in the chassis, the bonnet is lower too and this gives the driver a better view while on the move.

Interiorly, the car is arranged in such a manner that allows for ultimate concentration on the driving experience. For instance, the pedals, controls, gauges and the rest of the features are optimally positioned, enabling the driver to keep a straight posture and drive as comfortably as possible. Inside the car, one will definitely get the feel of a design that is balanced, plain and stylish, at the same time. It seems that everything in this open-top car is put on its right place and in the right shape.

It is good that Mazda MX5 has come to life because this small preciousness adds a renewed “sensation of the driver and car being in sync with each other as they communicate.”

2015 Mazda CX-5 is ready to impress customers with some significant interior and exterior enhancements. The line-up is available in three grades: SE-L, SE-L Lux and Sport Nav. The range includes three 2.0 liter petrol two-wheel drive variants equipped with six-speed manual transmissions, and thirteen 2.2 liter diesel versions – six of which are available with all-wheel drive. They are equipped with a choice of six speed manual or automatic transmissions. The compact SUV delivers uncompromising fuel economy and low CO2 emissions while still demonstrating excellent performance and driving dynamics.

The conventional stock equipment of every model in the CX-5 range has been improved thanks to the new manual front passenger seat height adjustment, an electronic parking brake, a coming/leaving home headlamp function, and the company’s Multimedia Commander that has separate volume dial for safe, intuitive interactivity and infotainment control.

Internet connectivity is made easier now due to the new 7-inch, full-color and center console touch-screen that incorporates DAB radio, two ports for USB connectivity and MZD Connect.

  • 2015 Mazda Carol Introduced in Japan

Mazda has revealed the 2015 Mazda Carol in Japan but I personally wish it actually hadn’t done it. The car depicts straightforward and plain design which does not really please the eye. There is a sort of rigidness that makes the Carol look like a figure beaten out of a stone.

In terms of power, Mazda Carol is equipped with a 660cc engine that generates 49 PS (36 kW) and 58 Nm (42 lb-ft) of maximum torque. Yet, there is a VVT variant which produces 52 PS (38 kW) and 63 Nm (46 lb-ft) of torque. The lack of power though seems to be compromised by its efficiency rates for the entry-level vehicle returns 27.2 km/L (3.6 L/100km / 63.9 mpg US / 76.8 mpg UK), while the VVT variant returns 37.0km / L (2.7 L/100km / 87 mpg US / 104.5 mpg UK).

There isn’t much to add about the features available for the car. The entry-level version arrives with air conditioning, keyless entry and a 2-speaker audio system. Still though, trying to break this automotive boredom of the vehicle, Mazda has equipped the higher-end models with power windows, a tilt steering wheel and heated front seats as well.

The starting price for the Mazda Carol is ¥847,800 ($7,026 / €5,763 / £4,529) and it is going on sale on January 30th.
