Fourth Generation Lexus RX Debuts in Europe

Lexus RX Front View Lexus RX in its fourth generation form is going to be revealed at thee Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. Next to it, Lexus will also present for the first time the European appearance of the revised GS and GS 200t.

A Little Bit of History

Since its appearance on the market, the RX has become one of Lexus’ best selling vehicles. The popular SUV was introduced in 1999 and for 16 years around 2.2 million examples have been sold worldwide. This also means that three out of every ten Lexus vehicles sold have been an RX.

The Newest Lexus RX

There isn’t a lot said about the new RX, but the good news is that we have a picture (the one above). The image shows that the fourth gen RX has a posture that combines sharp edges and curves. It seems that Lexus has succeeded in making car’s new design an effortless evolution of the previous generation that also shares the new design philosophy of the brand with other Lexus models.

Although we don’t have any pictures of the interior yet, the company says that it has been redesigned to achieve harmony between practicality and luxury. The cabin will offer future customers spaciousness and an intimate feel, and a lot of comfort for both driver and passengers.

In addition the drivetrain range is going to feature “advanced, redesigned hybrid and petrol” engines, “sophisticated safety technologies and driver aids”, like for example the Lexus Safety System+.

In Frankfurt we will also see the first European appearance of the facelift of the GS and the new GS 200t, which were displayed for the first time at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this summer.

More and more industries are trying to incorporate the interconnection between machine and men into their products. This time around this is done by Lexus which collaborated with the creative agency M&C Saatchi. The two companies succeeded in crafting a one – off vehicle that very impressively manages to display a person’s heartbeat integrated in its bodywork.

The unique Lexus RC F V8 coupe has adopted a number of innovative technologies in order to showcase something that we have never seen before. The human-machine connection is materialized literally. But how exactly does this happen? The first stage of the system functions by transporting the heartbeat of a connected person from a heart rate monitor to a customized electrical system featuring in the RC F.

After that, the system catches the received information, processes it and then sends an electric charge across the car’s body panels. The latter are colored in electroluminescent paint finish which is created by US-based expert Lumilor. Finally, when the electric charge moves through the original paint, it glows and shows the driver’s heartbeat via a real-time animation sequence.

With such high-performance vehicle, Lexus are going one step ahead of their competitors. This creation is bold, exclusive and will definitely be remembered and taken as an example in the future. What’s new for 2016 Lexus ES 300h?

There are several new color trims for the cabin as well. These include Linear Dark Mocha, Illustrious Piano Black, which replaces the Piano Black trim, and Bamboo with a matte finish.

Furthermore, it is vitally important for those keen on luxury, to mention that Lexus has used even softer materials in order to deliver more comfortable experience for its occupants. Details like the silver-trimmed piano black door switch plates give the 2016 ES 300h interior a richer appearance.

You know that 2016 Lexus ES 300h is a hybrid, right? This means that it runs with the help of Lexus Hybrid Drive system, which combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine with an electric motor. As a result it produces a combined power of 200 horses.

In addition, it can also run on electric motor or gas engine alone. The cool thing here is that the car actually features a Hybrid System Indicator, displaying the utilization of energy and encourages efficient driving habits.

The driving spirit is encouraged by four different driving modes: Normal, Sport, Eco and EV, specifically created for all driving situations. The best thing is that the ES 300h also has excellent fuel economy. It shows ratings of 40 mpg city / 39 mpg highway / 40 mpg combined.

Left Unmentioned

There is a lot to tell about the new ES 300h. However, we try to highlight only the new. So what has been left unmentioned here are the standard 10-way adjustable power front seats, automatic climate control, the power tilt-and-slide moonroof and the power-adjustable outside mirrors with turn signals and defoggers. Next to the standard 17-inch wheels fitted with 215/55R17 low-rolling resistance tires, Lexus is also offering the optional 18-inch alloys.

2016 Lexus ES 300h will be offered in three trim levels: Premium, Luxury and Ultra Luxury. The latter two packages add (for 2016 model year) wood trim on the center console and emboss pattern on the seats.

Lexus IS 200t Is The Third Model To Include the Brand’s Latest Engine

Lexus IS 200t will be the next Lexus vehicle, that will adopt the petrol turbo power. In fact, the 200t is the third model, that will be geared with this particular Lexus engine. The other two models are the NX 200t crossover and the RX 200t SUV.

What Lexus tries to achieve is a maximum torque of 350Nm and 241hp (180 kW). All this driven by the rear wheels with an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic gearbox. Sounds good, right? Yes, it does. And it gets better with the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), that ends in 7 seconds with an average consumption of 40 mpg. What is interesting about the engine is that, it comes with numerous innovations and tweaks. For example the machine offers the aid of fast throttle response, minimal turbo lag and all this combined with not-that-bad fuel economy.

The engine uses special intercooler system, that reduces the intake volume of the turbo and helps for vehicle’s fast response. Furthermore, Lexus IS 200t offers and a twin-scroll turbocharger in order to reduce the waste of energy.

As you know, the Atkinson cycle reduces the pumping losses and offers better fuel economy.

Light weight and other features

The engine is also made of light materials and weights just 160kg. The nickel and steel elements ensure safe ride and heavy duty working: Lexus has done (or at least told us so), that there were about 10,000 hours of tests and experiments and one million kilometers driven, all this only to ensure quality and functionality. Smoothness and other goodies

Lexus IS 200t offers an engine, that is built like a tank and runs like.. like.. well, it runs like a good Lexus engine. There is a special calcium-free lubrication oil, that prevents engine knock at low revs, while the piston cooling oil makes further improvements in the anti-knock performance. Furthermore, Lexus managed to get rid of the “turbo sigh” effect. As you might know, this is an annoying noise, heard, when the throttle is closed. And now the Lexus IS 200t is geared with a special system, that delivers power without noise.

Lexus Unveils Another Sporty Concept Vehicle

Lexus prepares for the Time Attack competition at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Something more, the luxurious brand will demonstrate the special and unique RC F GT Concept. The vehicle is especially designed and based on the IS F CCS-R model, that competed at Pikes Peak back in 2013. The event itself is really popular and in its core is a race battle with the clock. But along with the best times, the judges will also choose the winner and for his abilities. Reaction, confidence and smooth ride are also part of the competition.

But the RC F GT Concept is not only a competition vehicle. It also represents a pivotal piece of the Lexus F, along with the upcoming GT3 program. Pretty similar to the IS F CCS-R units, whose role in motorsport helped the development of key components, the GT Concept program will continue to improve the F brand’s mission. This will also allow Lexus engineers to try out some interesting ideas, that might happen to be the right ones.

The concept itself

With a focused race attitude, the RCF GT comes with numerous changes, compared to the street model. The Concept weights about 800 lbs. But it also retains the same engine and transmission. And with the concept vehicle, engineers can test the engine, transmission and chassis and can think of some changes and tuning ideas, that can make the car even better. 2016 Lexus GS F Will Make Debut At 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Lexus GS F is the brand’s latest model, that will make a demonstration for its European audience at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with a drive on the famous hillclimb with Toyota Gazoo Racing pilot Mike Conway behind the wheel.

The machine will demonstrate incredible confidence with the special V8 engine and with the numerous upgrades, that it comes with. Despite the fact, that Goodwood hill is not capable of providing terrain, so the vehicle can demonstrate its full abilities, the place is still a wonderful start for a bit of demonstration of what the vehicle can really do.

With a tradition to follow, Lexus team designed the GS F for incredible drive reward, capabilities and comfort. Shanghai Meets Lexus ES and RX Models

Lexus ES Side View The next news regarding Auto Shanghai is about two Lexus’ models: the RX 200t and the ES luxury sedan. The first one was displayed in the turbo-engine form and precisely, it will be driven by the 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The unit includes VVT-iW intelligent/wide variable valve-timing, a low-inertia turbocharger and an air-to-liquid intercooler. This makes the RX capable of producing 225 hp (165 kW).

There is a second engine choice for the RX: the 3.5-litre V6 petrol one, which will be mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This unit will be responsible for the 300 hp output. At last, the range is rounded-out by the full hybrid version of the RX, which will utilize an Atkinson cycle 3.5 V6, together with an electric motor, delivering the same horsepower.

On the other hand, the updated ES model currently wows the public in Shanghai with its elegant and progressive styling package, luxury interior and innovative Safety System +.

To go into details, the refreshed ES features company’s unique spindle grille in satin chrome to LED headlights, L-shaped DRLs, fog lamps positioned at the outer lower corners, new taillight design with L-shaped theme and a chrome-tipped rectangular exhaust. In addition, the ES runs on 17-inch alloys that perfectly complement the new exterior color.

Black Bison is the Name Given to Lexus NX by Wald International

Wald International Lexus NX Front View We know Wald International for its famous Black Bison tunings, which are not only captivated but also covered in mystery. The reason for this is that the company is based in Japan and rarely releases any information in English or other more commonly known language. This of course isn’t a problem since the invention of the online translators, but it still keeps most of the details in secret because we usually get lost in the translation.

Going further into details, the new release of the company involves a Lexus NX model and a Black Bison kit. The car looks stunning and maybe the reason for this is the minimal approach in the design. Precisely, the kit works together with the factory lines and this is what really makes me keen on it.

At the front Wald added a new front lip and 15mm over fenders for the face. The rear stands out with new rear gate spoiler and rear skirt with LED brake lights. There is also an arrow head panel for the rear door as well as various alloy wheels options.

Engine remains intact (unfortunately) and this means that the NX will be powered by one of the two standard powerplants: the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder which produces 235 hp (173kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, or the hybrid 2.5-liter unit with 195 hp (143 kW). Once again, Lexus takes the boundaries of luxury and capability to set them even further with the 2016 RX. As you know, the previous model, the 2015 RX is the best selling vehicle for the brand’s 26-year history. The 2015 RX recreated the meaning of luxury, just to be defined one more time with the almighty 2016 RX version.

The RX makes a powerful impression with the striking design that includes metal sheets, completely redesigned spindle grille, L-Shaped LED lamps and overall more aggressive front side. The character adds even more dynamics, thanks to the blackened-out C-pillars. They actually create the beautiful illusion of floating roofline. How cool is that?

The wheels are larger, exactly measured at 20-inch. This brings style and stability never seen before. The rear side of the RX is somehow sharpened and brings the feel of solidness. Further design wonders bring the LED L-shaped taillights that make the vehicle even wider. And the dual exhaust pipes bring the finish to the premium look and feel to the RX.

The interior is crafted with style and precision. It is elegant and brings high levels of comfort. There is a 12.3-inch monitor and a heads-up display, which projects information on the windshield. The rear seats are especially designed for even bigger comfort. They come with extended area for the legs and knees. There are even additional 11.6-inch screens to keep you in the mood.

And now, the very special part. The RX 350 powerplant is upgraded and more powerful than ever. It is a 3.5-Liter V6 system brings 300hp (220 kW) with direct injection for even better reaction. You will deal with an engine especially built for incredible fuel economy and an 8-speed auto transmission. And, of course this titanic power comes with improved handling system. You will feel the pleasure and reliability with all the technology, implied in the handling system.

There is a Vehicle Stability Control system included and a special suspension to bring you that smooth driving experience. And all that power and reliability comes with an incredible safety system. Have a Glimpse at the Next Gen Lexus RX [VIDEO]

2016 Lexus RX Teaser The original Lexus RX was launched seventeen years ago and this was also the time when it redefined the automotive industry with its luxury characteristics for a mid-size utility vehicle. Now it is somehow normal to a priori perceive SUVs as luxury cars. The good news is that the RX model has continued its presence during the years and its next generation version of the 2016 model year is near debut. Lexus announced that the vehicle will be revealed at the auto show in New York on 1^st of April.

Next to the announcement, the company also released a teaser image and a video to promote the future premiere. The short film is pretty expressive and gives a glimpse of the “full volume” luxury that the new RX will incarnate. This is very promising and imbues us with the thrills to expect the best.

In addition, below you will find a lightened version of the picture above so you can see more details. Judging from it, it looks like the fourth generation RX has been entirely redesigned. It appears to be sleeker and closer to the ground, and in fact – to have this sedan-like stance.

At the rear we see completely different taillights from the outgoing model as well as more prominent wheel arches. At last, the slim stance creates a flow-like impression that is further emphasized by the lower roofline, thin door handles and angular design.

Lexus LF-SA Concept is Tiny but Revolutionary [VIDEO]

So far, we uploaded only teasers of the Lexus LF-SA Concept and now it is the time to present this cute tiny car in its full glory. It is a vehicle which focuses on company’s ideas for future design and implementations of technology. The exterior color exudes adventurous spirit, and it is namely the Stellar Silver. This is a clear reference that the design is space-related and fortunately not only on the outside but also on the inside.

The exterior proportions of the car are impressive, since it isn’t typical for a carmaker to create such a tiny car (excluding Smart). Precisely, the length of the concept is 3,400mm, width is 1,700mm and height is 1,430mm. This signals for an urban-related design and somehow gives us hopes for production.

At the front we see the latest version of company’s spindle grille, angular pattern and a design which influences the front wings and side bodywork of the car. The new grille also incorporates L-shaped lamp clusters in a flying buttress design. My most favorite element of the design of this car is the form of the wheels. They aren’t conventional and if you want to know what I am talking about you should definitely view the gallery below.

In terms of interior, Lexus has provided a very spacious cabin. Inside, one witnesses a sweeping dashboard in a 2+2 cabin layout. This clearly gives priority to the driver. What is interesting here is that driver’s seat is fixed, while the steering wheel and pedals are adjustable allowing more flexibility.

At last, the infotainment system comprises of a digital display in the instrument cluster and a wide-angle head-up display. This car is pretty revolutionary, isn’t it?
