DMC Design has announced their tuning package for the “space ship” – Aventador. The project name is Molto Veloce, which from italian is “very fast” and sure it is.
Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 with 700PS (515 kW) at 8250 RPM and 690Nm (509 lb-ft) at 5500RPM. It is mated to a 7-speed ISR gearbox specially supplied by Graziano Trasmissioni Group. Combined fuel consumption – 17.2 l/100 km (13.5 mpg). 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).
The DMC Aventador received a new front spoiler and a pair of modified side skirts. The body kit also includes a new rear diffuser and a nice wing replacing the original. The exterior also got a new stripe in the middle of the front, top and rear.
Still, there is no information about performance packages, but who need them, when the Aventador is already one of the fastest street legal vehicles in the world.
Throughout the years, besides being utterly magnificent, M BMW cars have always been a statement. “I am the kind of person which has a an impressive annual income, a family, clout and an insatiable thirst for sideway buffoonery”. Whichever M car one might choose, the perks are always going to be the same – practicality and sensibility get you trough the mazes of society while sheer power and playfulness make for a great time at the countryside. Small wonder then, that today many well dressed men consider the M batch of BMW’s as a really, really good investment. But few people ask themselves, how and when did it all begin? Let’s just say, that the whole practical performance, 5-door saloonishness was definitely not the case at the beginning of the M odyssey. Enter the 1978 M1 – BMW’s first and only mid-engined road car.
BMW M1 (1978-1981)
Its birth hadn’t been easy. The company had to act quickly as, at the time, the Porsche 911 was becoming increasingly dominant in the field of motor sports. Believe it or not, BMW needed help. And that help came from Lamborghini. Sort of. The Italian company was assigned to do the design, engineering and production work. Without a doubt, that sounds like a recipe for success – BMW overseering the company that brought to the world the Lamborghini Miura and the Countasch. Probably one of the most talented designers ever, Giorgetto Giugiaro, sketched the lines of the M1 with a particular signature that can be seen in other works of his, such as the Lotus Esprit. Sadly, the times were tough, an oil crisis swept the world and Lamborghini went bust. That meant that BMW had to turn to someone else to finish the job. It was a painstaking process that consumed both time and money. The end result was an overpriced, plastic car of a thing that spawned only 455 times. On top of that, by the time everything was sorted out, most of the motor sport regulations moved on and the Bavarian was left trailing behind.
Lotus Esprit S2 (1978-1981)
The real tragedy however, is that, for its time, the M1 was a really decent car. It had the looks, it had the quintessential supercar setup (2 seats, mid-engined, rear-wheel drive), it weighed like a super car (1400 kg) and it had a wonderful 3.5 liter straight six engine that developed 273 bhp. And it wasn’t some sort of an experiment power plant, but a proper one with a Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection system and DOHC operating 24 valves in total. Later on the M635Csi and the first-generation M5 would get pretty much the same engine.
And that’s the thing about the M1. It died off quickly for a novel cause. Mercifully, the M badge stuck on, but now the BMW people were caught thinking – “Why don’t we shove such an engine in one of our own pefectly good saloons, beef up the brakes and suspensions and see what happens?” Today the results are evident. Almost every BMW car in the conteporary line up has an M counterpart which is hugely successful on the market and almost always highly valued by critics and automotive journalists.
ASMA Design has announced their latest project based on the hypercar – Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.
The superfast car is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 with 700PS (515 kW) and 690Nm (509 lb-ft). It is mated to a 7-speed ISR gearbox specially supplied by Graziano Trasmissioni Group. It shifts in just 50 milliseconds, which guarantees perfect performance.
The kerb weight is just 1575 kg (3 472 lbs), thanks to a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) monocoque structure with total weight of only 147.5 kg.
The tuning company has released a single picture (rendering) of the tuned Aventador, which will come with complete styling package, new paint and enormous wheels.
Stay tuned for more information about this interesting project.
Here is a short list of some of the most collectible cars from the present, which in my opinion, are going to cost even more amount of money in the near or distant future. They are unique in several aspects, including style, speed, expense and produced examples of their particular model. Such cars are driven for prestige and are considered as a symbol for high status.
Let’s start with Dodge Viper, which undeniably is one of the most famous cars ever produced. Its production started back in 1992 and continues till now. The vehicle has 6 speed manual transmission which allows the person behind the wheel to experience the excitement of driving. Moreover it is usually equipped with very powerful engine which produces a pleasant roaring sound and in some versions achieves the whole 600 hp (442 kW). Therefore, if you seat behind the steering wheel with the aim to achieve the top speed, then you’ll get up to 202 mph (325 km/h). Undoubtedly, this model is an emblematic one for the American automotive history and I am sure that one day models will cost a lot.
2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X
Next comes the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which production started in the near past – in 2009 and since then it is still being produced. Although it has a short history, it is the most powerful Corvette ever made. It includes six speed manual transmission, but unlike the previous discussed vehicle, it can produce the astonishing 638 hp (470 kW) at 6,500 rpm of torque. The top speed here is 205 mph (325 km/h)! It definitely deserves the investment, because it is going to be one of the most desirable collectables in the future.
2012 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
Here comes the luxury Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren without which the sport car industry wouldn’t be the same. Its production began in the 2003 and lasted till 2010. Unlike the Corvette and the Viper, it has five speed automatic gearbox. Here the Mercedes achieves the 617 hp (454 kW) at 6,500 rpm, but its maximum speed is higher than Corvettes. This vehicle can reach up to 208 mph (335 km/h). And the price as well is far grater than the ZR1’s. The last one costs around $100 000. The Mercedes however, is estimated around $ 450 000. What is so typical and emblematic about this model, are its unmistakable gullwing doors.
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
There is a real rarity present to our attention – the two door coupe named Lamborghini Reventón, which production lasted just one year (from 2008 till 2009). What makes this car so special and priceless is that you can’t see it on the streets very often. And this isn’t due to its high price (which by the way is estimated around $1.6 million dollars), but due to the fact that there is only twenty of it produced! This beauty, has a six speed manual or six-speed paddle shift transmission, and as you expect its engine is a powerful V12 6,5 liter one. Hence, it produces the astonishing 650 hp (478 kW) at 8,000 rpm of torque. The top speed is exactly 211 mph (340 km/h).
Lamborghini Reventón
Without a doubt a collectible one is Bugatti Veyron, for anyone who can afford it of course. It costs around 1,7 million dollars and since 2005, when it production started, is one of the most appealing cars to the famous people. Its acceleration, which for only 2.5 seconds goes from 0 to 100 km/h, is due to the unbelievable 1001 hp (736 kW) at 6,000 rpm! And not to forget the maximum speed of 268 mph (431 km/h) which makes the car one of the fastest cars in the world! But wait this is not all! The new hyper car model, which is going to make its debut in 2013, will be also powered by the famous 8.0 liter W16 quad-turbo engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Moreover, it is expected to achieve more than 1200 hp (895 kW)! This makes it a real collectable car even before its official release, isn’t it!

The brand Lamborghini has just opened a new dealership in Paris, France. The name of the showroom is Lamborghini Paris Ouest. In the event was marked with the presence of Stephan Winkelmann, who is the President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. The showroom is situated on 15 Boulevard Gouvion, Saint Cyr and is managed by Lamborghini’s partner Neubauer Group, which is famous with their professional work in Parisian luxury car market. In the new dealership can be seen the entire product range including the two series models – the Gallardo and the Aventador LP 700-4. The latter won 29 international awards for its unique design and innovative technology, which make it the new reference point in the super sports car world. The Aventador has achieved both public and commercial success. In fact, all cars which are going to be manufactured in the first 18 months’ production are already sold. On the other hand the Gallardo is the latest model from Lamborghini and it was presented firstly at the 2011 Super Trofeo Stradale. Moreover, the Gallardo product line-up is the most successful range in the company’s entire history. Given these facts, it is no surprise that since 2003 nearly 12,000 Gallardos have been sold.
Lamborghini Paris Ouest
The success for Lamborghini in the year if 2011 was major: it sold 1,602 cars (+ 23%). The lrgest market was the United States, followed by China. With the opening of the Lamborghini Paris Ouest, the company plans to improve and strengthen the sales network in France and the world. Moreover this new dealership increases the points of sales and aftersalec in France to five: two in Paris, Mulhouse and Lyon, and one in Montecarlo. In fact, worldwide Lamborghini has more than 120 showrooms in 45 countries.
If you wonder which are the most creative and astonishing tunings that we have seen during the almost gone 2011, here we have picked 10 of the most impressive ones. There were several factors that have been considered in order to make this top 10. First of all exterior tuning, next is the overall improvement in the performance, and at last is the changes made in the interior.
This unique Vilner design has made it through in our top 10. Vilner Saturn Sky boasts nice oriental blue exterior combined with a red interior. The tuner also included LED daytime running lights for the front bumper. However there is more attention put on the interior: it includes black Alcantara and carbon fiber trim parts, as well as new dials, a carbon fiber steering wheel and new upholstery. In the package is also included a newly fitted high-end Ground Zero sound system. Unfortunately there is nothing done to improve the performance of the car. It comes with its standard 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 260PS (194 kW) and 353Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h it accelerates in just 5.5 seconds.
The next place in our chart goes for this beautiful tuning of Range Rover Evoque. As you can see it grabs the attention with its red tires, strange rims and a lot of carbon fiber all. The SUV also has an improved body kit which features redesigned front bumper and aluminum bonner with integrated air intakes, and a new rear bumper with an integrated carbon diffuser. In addition there are also carbon wheel arches, boot handle, bottom door guards and mirror covers. Furthermore the interior is improved by a lot of carbon fiber and some Alcantara. The last “touch” are the 20” OZ Racing Dakar wheels wrapped in 255/30 ZR20 red M-Power tires. To improve the overall performance of the car the Marangoni Range Rover Evoque comes with 60PS (44 kW) more, which means a total of 300PS (225 kW) from the 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. In addition the performance is further improved by a complete braking system – Tarox B360 with 10-piston calipers and and 330×26 mm composite disks.
BMW Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible tuning is based on the well known 650i model. It has all-aluminium bi-turbo V8 power plant which boasts 507PS (373 kW) and staggering 700Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. It accelerates from0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and its top speed is 311 km/h (193 mph). Moreover Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible also comes with complete aerodynamic package including front and rear bumpers and side skirts. There are also a four-tailpipe Akrapovic sports exhaust system and huge 20” alloy wheels. Concerning the interior the B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible has just the extensive range of standard equipment, which includes leather upholstery, fully adjustable comfort seats with heating system, navigation system with preparation for Bluetooth mobile phone, USB audio interface, Xenon lights and LED fog lights. Unfortunately there isn’t any upgrade in the interior. For this reason this special car has the number eight in our chart.
This Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is an every-day road-going car with great power and specifications. Oakley Design’s tuning of it is called LP760-2 and the model is only rear wheel drive. The vehicle has been stripped of its front differential and related components, so it is much lighter – totally 85 kg (187 pounds). Furthermore, the 6.5 liter V12 engine is upgraded to gain another 71PS and 55Nm. Hence, the total output is 771PS (567 kW) and 745Nm (550 lb-ft). In addition this amazing tuning stands on enormous Oakley Design P40 wheels with dimensions 9.0J to 9.5J x 19” at the front, and from 12.0J to 13.0J x 20” at the rear fitted with ultra-performance 255/35ZR19 and 355/30ZR20 Pirelli PZero tires. Further modifications are made on the aerodynamics which features: modified front bumper, new side skirts, revised rear bumper with a new diffuser. The car also comes with a carbon fiber roof for further weight saving and stylish improvement.
Hennessey Performance ultra-fast beast – 2011 Venom GT has deserved its place in our top 10. First of all it has astonishing exterior, finished in passionate red body color. Furthermore it is powered by an in-house tweaked 6.2-liters V8 twin-turbo powerplant which is linked to a Ricardo 6-speed gearbox, the Chassis Number 03 – Venom GT is capable of producing the breath-taking figures of 1,200 horsepower and 1,155 lb-ft of peak torque, while boasting a curb weight of just 2,685 pounds! The HPE Venom GT is based upon a completely re-designed Lotus chassis, packed with all-new front and rear space frames as well as state-of-the-art carbon-made body with automatic rear wing that contributes remarkably for the super ride’s drivability at high speeds.
The next place goes for Porsche GT3 with the tuning package from Magnat and Wimmer. Here the mighty 3.8 liter flat-six received updated software and modified exhaust system including sport catalysts and suction tubes optimization. The overall result in power optimization is 462HP (340 kW) and 451Nm (334 lb-ft). The top speed is 317 km/h (197 mph). Snowmobile Porsche GT3 stands on Ultraleggera HLT CT by OZ in 8.5J x 19” and 12J x 19” fitted with 235/35 ZR19 and 305/30 ZR19 Yokohama Advan Sport tires. What about the interior: Magnat has used materials from highest quality such as leather, Alcantara and high gloss paintwork. All this let the GT3 shine in its unique design, the dynamic diamond patterns setting sportive and, in the same time, exclusive accents. In addition there is an audio system with 2100 WATTS.
Edo Competition’s SLR Black Arrow is an extremely powerful vehicle that incredibly quickens the pulse when its pedal hits the metal. Based upon the renowned Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Coupe, the edo competition’s SLR Black Arrow conversion benefits a special, stealth-like exterior finish, a new high-tech stainless steel exhaust unit as well as sleek, 21-inch lightweight racing alloys wrapped in high-performance rubber.
In the power compartment, the revised McLaren SLR Coupe’s hand-built 5.4-liters, supercharged V8 plant now tops the extraordinary figure of 722 horsepower at 7,100 revolutions and 890 Nm of peak torque, resulting in top speed of 345 km/h and only 3.4 seconds for 0-100km/h acceleration sprint. Furthermore, the edo SLR Black Arrow has premium leather/alcantara upholstery, special steering wheel with shift paddles and custom carbon applications on the dashboard, center console and door panels. A high-end sound system with navigation, phone, TV and iPod, as well as a reversing camera add even more exclusivity to this already iconic ride’s re-styled cockpit.
Edo Competition makes it with another tuning in our chart. This time the car is Koenigsegg CCR, which is the next level above super sport like the mighty Lamboghinis, Ferraris and Porsches.
CCR is powered by a 4.7 liter twin-supercharged V8. Edo Competition boosted the engine of this beast to the whopping 891PS (655 kW) thanks to an ECU re-map. The drive ratio is also improved to gain the hyper car better stability and faster acceleration. The top speed is 390 km/h (242 mph). There are also improvements in the interior, which has received Alcantara upholstery, a redesigned center console, a new infotainment system, and a tire pressure monitoring system that has a display integrated into the dashboard.
This ABT Audi R8 GT S got the place of number two in our chart not only because of the incredible outlook it has, but also because it produces 620PS (456 kW). This is due to the 5.2 liter V10 engine, which has received a number of upgrades. The convertible stands on enormous 20” ABT BR alloys or 19” CR Superlight rims. There are also some improvements in the interior: red carbon on almost every single detail, sports steering wheel, centre console, shifting gate and parts of the door panels. The remaining parts of the doors and the dashboard are upholstered with new leather. We can’t go further without mentioning the red safety belts and illuminated door sill panels for the overall powerful appearance of the ABT R8 GT S.
And the first place goes to…. Wiesmann’s Black Bat! The company SchwabenFolia in Korntal-Münchingen situated in Baden-Württemberg has created this astonishing Wiesmann MF5 V10 Roadster. The project name is Black Bat because it represents the ultimate Batmobile in reality! Everything is tuned in this car. Firstly this vehicle comes with an extra matte black exterior, door panels, engine room and the inner hood, as well as the completely foiled trunk and inner flap. This breathtaking tuned car is powered by the brilliant S85B50 – 5.0 liter V10 with 507PS (378 kW) at 7750RPM and 520Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque at 6100RPM. Furthermore the BMW’s Performance engine includes cast aluminum block with bed plate design split at the crankshaft axis, cast aluminum heads with four valves per cylinder and CNC machined ports and combustion chambers. All these engine boosts result in enhanced acceleration, which for the standard 0-100 km/h takes only 3.5 seconds. Moreover the top speed is more than 321 km/h (200 mph). You can see how amazingly this car looks. Its movie-like appearance is improved by the enormous BBS forged alloy wheels 10J x 20” with 285/30 ZR20 tires at the front and 11.5J x 20” with 325/25 ZR20 on the rear axle. Behind them, there are brembo 6-piston calipers with 308 x 32 mm perforated compound brake discs and 4-piston calipers with 380 x 28 mm discs at the rear. The interior is also enhanced thus: all in the interior is covered with high quality leather which gives the car the perfect finish! All results in the overall weight of 1395 kg. No doubt now that this car deserves the first place!
