  • Ferrari Launches F14 T For Formula One

Ferrari F14 T is the sixtieth car built by the Italian company, which was unveiled and is readied to take part in Formula 1 World Championship. What is new here is that the vehicle will sport a turbo-compressor in the Power Unit.

The project for this motorsport car began more than two years ago. Some of the heritage of earlier Ferrari designs can be seen in the F14 T. Such are the pull-rod front and rear suspension. However, the visual appearance of the car is very different to the cars of recent years due to changes to the regulations.

For instance the chassis and nose have been lowered. The rear wing now has a larger stroke DRS, a much smaller overall depth and has no beam wing. The front wing is regulated to be 75mm narrower per side. This was made in order to make this part less vulnerable to collisions with other cars and with the barriers. Moreover, the front wing endplates encompass the outside of the front tyres with the aim to additionally maximize the downforce on the car.

The main area of enhancements is however under the skin of the car. F14 T has completely different cooling, engine oil and water radiators are smaller in order to match the V6 internal combustion part of the Power Unit, an intercooler for the turbo-compressor system has been added.

Another entirely redesigned system is the braking one, which has been modified in compliance with the new regulations. The technicians have ensured greater capacity on the front axle, while Brembo hydraulic caliper at the rear has been reduced in size. Additionally, F14 T will have a brake-by-wire system which optimizes pedal consistency and brake balance control as the ERS braking contribution changes during the braking manoeuvre.

The transmission of the car has been also changed and now was designed in order to ensure that efficient delivery of power through the drivetrain while producing class leading starts and high levels of reliability. At last, the car has been fitted with new Pirelli tyres and 13 inch OZ front and rear wheels.

  • DMC Transforms Ferrari 458 Italia With Aero Package

DMC-Ferrari-458-Italia-ELEGANTE-THUMBDMC Ferrari 458 Italia ELEGANTE is the latest addition to the garage of finely tuned vehicles of the transformation specialists at the luxury tuning company DMC. The company is more famous with its exceptional modifications of Lamborghini vehicles, however it can also proudly show-off with its current take on the 458 Italia.

The Elegante aerodynamic tuning kit gives this Ferrari even more aggressive appearance, and we have already seen it installed on the 458 Italia Spider last year. Nonetheless, DMC have taken it further with this project.

The Body Kit includes new front lips, side skirts and other details that look great while supporting a better road feel. What is more stunning in the appearance of the Italian car however, is its windows. They all have been blacked out including the side, rear, and even the front window.

  • Nurburgring Trackday: Ferrari 458 Challenge Making Some Noise [VIDEO]

Ferrari-458-Challenge-Video-mediumHere’s our nomination for the “Best Original Score” award at the Oscars. We highly doubt it’s going to make the cut, but frankly we don’t care. It’s a Ferrari 457 Challenge producing a brilliant soundtrack around the Nurnburgring in Germany.

It’s videos like these that remind us what a tiresome life gearheads around the world are leading. Someone actually had to put this (road-illegal) Ferrari on a semi-trailer, tow it to the track, unload it, fiddle with it, have a go, fine tune it, have a go again, set a lap-time, load again and go home.

The 457 Challenge was first introduced back in 2010. It’s the latest of a series of racing cars for enthusiasts. It’s thinner body panels, carbon fiber bits and polycarbonate windows and windshield make it much more lighter than the road-going 458. It also has a racing cockpit, an integrated air-jack at the back, a racing filler cap and racing rims. In other words, it’s the real deal even though there are no power boosts over the original. Looks good too.

    See for yourselves:

  • Second Hand LaFerrari – Price €2,380,000

SEMCO GmbH now offers a second hand Ferrari LaFerrari Special Limited for whopping €2.38 million. Despite the manufacturer has set a starting price of the hyper car of €1.3 million, this model is nearly twice more expensive, because it is number 1 from 499.

However, the car is practically brand new, because it has covered only 200 km (125 miles). Of course, it is finished in red and has a lot of exposed carbon fiber elements.

    2013 Ferrari LaFerrari is powered by a 6.3 liter V12 with 800HP (588 kW) at 9,250RPM and 700Nm (519 lb-ft) at 6,750RPM. With the help of HY-KERS, the overall power is whopping 963HP and over 900Nm of torque. 0-100 km/h in under 3.0 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 7.0 seconds and 0-300 in breath-taking 15.0 seconds.

A lap time at Fiorano of under 1’20” – 5 seconds faster than the Enzo and over 3 seconds faster than the F12berlinetta.

  • Capristo With Another Ferrari 458 Spider

    Capristo-Ferrari-458-Spider-shadowCapristo-Ferrari-458-Spider-medium

There doesn’t seem to be something out of the ordinary with this Capristo Ferrari 458 Spider. Yes, it’s shockingly yellow, but there are no bumpers, or skirts, or diffusers, or wings, stuff that you’d normally find on an after market product. It is an universal truth that the 458 needs little improvement, yet this one does sport a few changes here and there.

Take the engine cover/lid for example – its entirely new. Capristo’s reasoning is that the standard one is too obstructive, hindering the vista of the glorious V8 that hides underneath. This one, as you can see, is rather transparent. Not only that but it now has more vents and bigger air-scoops for an increased stream of cooling air. You’d think that a Ferrari doesn’t need any adjustments in the thermodynamic compartment, but there might be some logic behind the Capristo 458’s flamboyant ports. See, the Sundern-based company also bolted on a bigger airbox from “baked carbon” which, supposedly, increases the torque with 25 Nm.

Add to that a custom-made exhaust system, and you have a brilliantly sounding yellow jacket that stings with 562 hp and 565 Nm. Ouch!

This is not the first time Capristo have enhanced a 458 Spider with their idea of an engine cover

  • Ferrari 458 Speciale at Fiorano Circuit [video]

Ferrari 458 Speciale was tested by Raffaele De Simone at the Fiorano race circuit. The test driver had the opportunity to enjoy the most powerful Ferrari V8 engine. He explained some the highlights, while driving at decent speeds.

The 458 Speciale is powered by an upgraded 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine – 605HP (445 kW) and 540Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. This is an increase of 35HP over the normal version. The engine is mated to an improved dual-clutch transmission. 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and a top speed of over 330 km/h (205 mph). A lap around Fiorano in 1 minute and 23.5 seconds.

    Enjoy!

  • Racing One GmbH Ferrari 458 Competition for Track Use

    Racing-One-Ferrari-458-Competition-shadowRacing-One-Ferrari-458-Competition-medium

Here we have Racing One, aftermarket experts from Germany, shamelessly flexing their engineering muscle with this strictly-for-the-track Ferrarri 458 called the Competition. There’s nothing wrong with some eye-candy, right? Anyone up for some exposed carbon-ceramic?

This stripped-out 458 has been built specifically to comply to different race challenge requirements and thus its power output can be as much as 620 hp. That’s almost 60 more than the standard car with the otherwise same engine setup – 4.5-liters of V8 goodness. Specifically tailored for performance, the 7-speed gearbox is at the reach of your fingertips with the custom Getrag rocker switch. There is little else inside that can distract you – no carpets, exposed hinges and welding marks. The center console holds only the ignition and, rather surprisingly, the A/C controls. That’s right, even though the Competition has been completely devout of it’s luxuries, the Racing One team has still managed to squeeze in an air-conditioner. That’s even more impressive when you consider the overall weight of the thing: 1,220 kg as opposed to 1,485 kg as it would normally be.

The pictures also suggest a KW coilover kit for optimum traction. All the while, a custom made aerodynamics packet works its magic for better balance and efficiency. Not to mention that the the wheel housings can now hold even larger slicks. And just look at the size of that rear-wing. You can land an F-15 jet on it… with a bit of imagination.

  • Design Concept: DMC LaFerrari FXXR

The impressive LaFerrari debuted this year at the Geneva Motor Show. Although the car is only eight months old, this didn’t stop the tuning specialists at DMC to modify it into an even more intimidating hyper exotic road car. The result is the breath-taking DMC LaFerrari FXXR.

As a matter of fact, the LaFerrari is produced in only 499 examples and costs $1,700,000 USD. It is powered by a 6.3 liter V12 engine which produces 800 hp (588 kW) at 9,250RPM an 700 Nm (519 lb-ft) at 6,750RPM. Thanks to the HY-KERS, the overall power is enhanced up to 963 hp and the torque – up to 900 Nm. The acceleration time from 0 to100 km/h is under 3 seconds.

DMC managed to make this Ferrari look a lot more aggressive. The tuners have removed the front the color coded vertical center fin in the bumper as well as the lower one. Two carbon fiber air intakes angled at a V-shape extend the line of the large central air vent on the front hood.

Inside the large bumper, the outer intakes are angled differently and draw more air in. The side of the front bumper now includes vertical fins that stabilize the LaFerrari FXXR at high speeds. What keeps the disc brakes cooled down is the additional intake carved in the sides.

Furthermore, the corners of the front bumper get clear carbon fiber ‘canards’, while a smaller air intake is sculpted right in the center of the bumper. To the stylish headlights have been added extra vents, while into the front of the windshield two more intakes are molded into the hood.

At the rear, one can see a massive, clear carbon fiber adjustable rear wing. Here, the original red taillights are replaced and now the LaFerrari sports smoked, black finished units. Of course, DMC also added new exhaust system with four matte black ‘mouths’ and a clear carbon fiber lower diffuser with a four vertical fins.

Behind the side windows are mounted two black winglets which also stabilize the LaFerrari FXXR when the car is driven in high speed. At the roof, the tuners have added additional air intake.

    dmc laferrari fxxr rear

What makes absolute difference to the original sportscar is the classic yellow banner on the windshield. The door inset is now finished in black, while many air intakes and vents are visible in the opening doors. In addition, a quick fuel filler makes is positioned on the side panel while an air vent finds it place right in the crease of the rear panel. The front and rear brakes, the designers equipped with large vents ensuring that the hot air can leave the discs again.

On the road, this vehicle adds style and aggressiveness, and this feeling is additionally enhanced via the track style cross spoke wheels in black. This project was initially created as a design concept. So, it is only a matter of time to understand, whether it will come to reality or stay just a render.
