Chevrolet Racing started a campaign which aims to raise breast cancer awareness. This weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway every lap run under the caution flag lead to a $200 contribution by Chevrolet to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative.
”At Chevy, we believe everyday heroes can accomplish extraordinary things, and it is in this spirit that we work to achieve a world without breast cancer”, said Don Johnson, vice president of Chevrolet Sales and Service.
There was a special car prepared for the event as well; it is a one-of-a-kind pink Camaro SS featuring the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer logo. And just as a reminder, in 2011, 64 caution laps at Atlanta generated $12,800 for the American Cancer Society.
The starting price of the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS with a six-speed manual transmission begins at $20 995. When equipped with six-speed automatic transmission, the price starts at $22 280.
Chevrolet’s performance-inspired RS now offers innovative exterior styling and exciting driving experience. In addition it now includes unique exterior and interior features. It is being offered as a five-door hatchback, powered by an Ecotec 1.4L turbo engine. The latter generates 138 horsepower (103 kW) and 148 lb.-ft. (200 Nm) of torque.
The Sonic RS’s front fascia has a deep air dam design that improves the car’s road-hugging stance. Vertical intakes at the edges of the fascia reinforce the wide, low proportion and house the fog lamps.
The other exterior features include new RS-specific grille, rear fascia, rear spoiler, rocker moldings, bright exhaust outlet, unique 17-inch five-spoke wheel design, lowered and stiffened suspension with performance-tuned dampers, RS badging.
As an option here is included a power, tilt-sliding sunroof with express-open and wind deflector. At last, the exterior colors one can choose between are Victory Red, Summit White, Cyber Gray Metallic and Black Granite Metallic.
How about the interior? The performance theme is conveyed through a Jet Black interior with leather-appointed front bucket seats with sueded microfiber inserts and red RS accents.
Other interior features are the new sport three-spoke, leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrasting stitching and racing-inspired flat-bottom design, leather-wrapped shifter knob with red stitching (manual transmission), new aluminum sport pedals, specific instrument panel cluster graphics and a Standard Chevrolet MyLink.
Other exclusive features are the MacPherson strut front suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar, and a semi-independent, torsion beam axle-mount compound link-type rear suspension, featuring a tubular V-shape beam, with gas-charged shocks.
People in USA know some things and especially how to create drag-racing vehicles. That’s why, Chevrolet has developed a special series vehicle – COPO Camaro, which is for drag-racing use. Of course, the vehicle can be run on the streets, but it is not recommended at all.
Chevrolet COPO Camaro is powered by a supercharged 5.3 liter V8 engine featuring 4.0 liter Whipple supercharger. Nothing is mentioned about the overall power, but the car managed to stop the clock at 8.88 seconds and ¼ mile run.
Chevrolet previously mentioned that the recently introduced COPO Camaro is capable of doing the ¼ mile run in less than 9 seconds, and now we have proof that it can do it.
The engine range features also a naturally-aspirated V8 7.0 liter power unit and a 5.3-liter V8 with a 2.9 liter supercharger. All three engines are mated to a Powerglide automatic gearbox that was specially developed for drag racing.
The vehicle is available with a choice of 5 colors – Ashen Grey Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Victory Red, Summit White and Flat Black. Chevy plans to create only 69 units this year, with prices starting from $89,000
The latest Chevrolet Trax – due to debut at this year’s Paris motor show – will hopefully establish the brand in the “small SUV” niche. Mind you, to their understanding, being 4.2 meters long and 1.8 m wide is small. It’s a perfectly suitable vehicle for five, it’s high-seated and supposedly, it delivers a car-like handling on the tarmac.
The engines however (the ones for the European markets) do suggest theTrax‘s smallishness. There will be three options:
A 1.6L naturally aspirated petrol engine (not interesting enough apparently, to know the precise power output)
A 1.4L turbocharged petrol unit with 140 hp on paper. With the help of a six-speed manual, this engine transfers 200 Nm of torque to the wheels. Depending on the trim, you can also get an AWD system.
The same is true for the 1.7L doesel which produces 10 hp less but ends up with 300 Nm of torque. All powertrains that are mated to a manual (as opposed to the available six-speed automatic) also get a Start/Stop function.
Inside, a 358-liter storage space that can come in handy on a grocery run. That includes the various compartments on the sides and under the rear seats and under the cargo floor. If one is willing to spend a bit more money, you can get technological as well – Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a touch-screen display and a flexible navigation programme.
In terms of safety, the LT trim Trax offers an array of standard passive and active systems. Six-airbaxs, ESC, Hill Start and Descent Assist/Control, traction control, ABS.
The Paris motor show is due to start on the 27th of September when the world’s leading automotive companies will debut and showcase their latest products to the world. The 2013 Chevrolet Trax will hit the markets sometime in 2013.
The new 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible will be offered in the USA with a competitive starting price of just $60 445 including the $900 destination charge. This number is sensational, because you will get a super-powered sports drop-top vehicle at very good value.
ZL1 Convertible is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine with 588 HP (432 kW) and 754 Nm (556 lb-ft) of torque. This is an improvement of just 11 HP and 9 Nm over ZL1 Coupe. 0-60 mph in 4 seconds and a top speed of 296 km/h (184 mph).
The suspension of the ZL1 convertible uses the third-generation of Magnetic Ride. New, twin-wire/dual-coil dampers at all four corners enable faster response, with damping levels now adjusted up to 1 000 times per second – about one adjustment per inch of vehicle travel at 60 mph – making the system exceptionally responsive to changing driving and road conditions.
GM also reported that the 2013 Camaro 1LE is priced from just $37 035 including $900 destination charge.
The Corvette C6 is indeed emblematic machine. With its unique body work it can be recognized whenever it appears on the streets. And as the outlook speaks, it is fantastic sportscar with great amount of power.
In particular it can generate 400 horsepower (300 kW) at 6000 rpm and 400 lb•ft (542 N•m) of torque at 4400 rpm thanks to its 6.0 L LS2 V8 engine. But this wasn’t enough for the specialists at Inspired Autosport, who have been building this gorgeous C6 Corvette.
With the release of the much anticipated C7 Corvette around the corner, the current platform will be undoubtedly missed.SR Chevrolet Corvette C6 Inspired Autosport Project M47 was in the beginning the regular C6 Corvette Convertible, with the characteristics typical for the production car.

However, huge transformations took place. Some of them included modifications on the power plant, the chassis and of course – some cosmetic improvements. For instance, the original set of wheels has been light weight and wide one.
Here the tuners have equipped the Chevrolet with factory wide body kit from the 2012 Corvette Grand Sport model. Furthermore they have installed new front bumper, front and rear fenders installed.
This allowed the professionals from PUR Wheels to step in the creation of the project. They have equipped the Corvette with a 20×13 fitment which would support massive stream roller size 345/25/20 tires out rear.
In fact, the exact design is named PUR design 4OUR, which is in a stealthy high gloss black finish and matches the new gloss black paint job on the car. Other improvements include the addition of many extensive engine bolt-ons, suspension tweaks and full race exhaust front to back.

2013 Chevrolet Camaro Dusk Special Edition Details:
Chevrolet Camaro is a legend among the cars and it has been famous and gathered greater popularity since its launch in 1967. One of the main reasons for its initial popularity was probably that it had a unique characteristic: it combined a sports car driving feeling with an everyday drive.
2013 Chevrolet Camaro is road-racing-inspired which now has unique gearing, suspension tuning and tires that make the model capable of more than 1 g of lateral acceleration. The package is offered on Camaro SS coupes but only on those equipped with manual transmissions.
In particular all Camaro SS models now include variable-effort electric power steering and an available dual-mode exhaust system. Again we are talking about manual transmission-equipped models.
As mentioned, the 1LE package will be offered on 1SS and 2SS coupe models with an exclusive Tremec TR6060-MM6 six-speed manual transmission. Paired with a numerically higher 3.91 final-drive ratio, the close-ratio gearing of the transmission is tuned for road-racing performance.
A Camaro with the 1LE package can be recognized by its matte black hood, front splitter and rear spoiler. Furthermore, it has unique 10-spoke ZL1-based wheels, which are also in the colour black. In addition the front splitter and rear spoiler enhance to the car’s on-track performance by helping to reduce aerodynamic lift at high speeds.
Inside, the 1LE has the ZL1’s flat-bottom steering wheel, trimmed in sueded-microfiber and designed for easier heel-and-toe driving on the racetrack. The quick-acting, short-throw shifter from the ZL1 is also trimmed in sueded-microfiber.
2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE
Being a true Camaro it offers heritage-inspired interior and exterior, which offer sportiness through iconic design cues. On the other hand the emblematic power of the vehicle is ensured by several powertrains. The standard in LS and LT models come equipped with the 3.6L V-6 engine, which produces 323 horsepower (241 kW).
Two other options are available for the Camaro SS, which namely are 6.2L V-8 ones. The first one generates 400 hp (298 kW) at 5,900 rpm and torque is 410 lb.-ft. (556 Nm) at 4,300 rpm. The second one develops 426 horsepower (318 kW) and 420 lb.-ft. (569 Nm). All Camaro models can be equipped with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with TapShift.
Other equipment which will go on all Camaros is the new seven-inch touchscreen. Through it the driver will control the car’s entire audio system, which now includes MyLink features with apps like Pandora and Stitcher.
Other changes to optimize the 1LE for track-day use include:
• Larger, 27-mm solid front stabilizer bar, and 28-mm solid rear stabilizer bar for improved body control

Another great story told by Depth of Speed. This time on the spot is the 1964 Chevrolet Corvair van, which is being driven by John Jackson. With this vehicle Jackson has undergone more than 170 000 miles in only 4 years.
In fact, Jackson himself is involved in the automotive industry. He is one of the guys who make the great images of the cars we are always delighted to see. In this short film he shares what is the feeling to travel across the entire country in search of cool hot rods and bikes, and what made him have so unique profession.
1964 Chevrolet Corvair Van
Not only does he travel upwards of 60,000 miles a year, but he does it in a Corvair van. The van is bagged with a custom paint job, where you can see the logo of his company: NonStock Photography. In addition, the interior of the van is also pretty cool: it doubles as a bit of a rolling art gallery for his photography.
Only a click is separating you from hearing this great story.
Every know and then, tuners run out of ideas and start searching for possibilities in places where no one would think of. Here we have such a case. It’s hard to say that the Chevrolet Spark is the best looking supermini out there, nor it is the most thrilling. But the guys at KBR Motorsport have given it a shot anyways.
They started off with with a set of matte black Barracuda Voltex T6 rims, They sound kind of menacing but in real life, the figures speak for themselves: 7 x 17-inch wheels with 185/35R17 tires on them – cute. KBR also added their home made silencer for that extra growl. Also at the tail gate, the badging, wiper and lock have been simply removed because that’s somehow considered customization. Some foil has been applied to for color orientation courtesy to CoverEFX. Really that’s about it. Kind of superficial, we couldn’t help but thinking.
To own a KBR Motorsport Cehvrolet Spark one needs to cough up 5000 Euros which makes things sound even more ridiculous. If we wanted some glamor in the first place, we wouldn’t go for the Spark in the first place. Invest in a MiTo instead.
