TopCar has published several pictures of their new styling package for the latest Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S model. It will make its official debut at the Auto Show Top Marques Monaco in April 2013. Also the company plans to create a wide-body version, after the official presentation of the Porsche 991 Turbo.
The whole package includes: front and rear bumpers, a bonnet, side skirts, front and rear fender extenders and a spoiler. All items will be produced by vacuum forming from carbon fiber and Kevlar fabric.
The cars gain higher capacity due to a TOPCAR partner – the famous German company 9ff.
Each car also have ultra-light forged wheels ADV.1 Wheels.
This Porsche 997 Carrera S is equipped with new Emotion Wheels Concave. Looks fantastic, doesn’t it? The philosophy behind these alloy wheel rims is pure geometry. In addition, the wheel bears the highly promising name “Concave“ and has a characteristic inward bulging rim-star. Yet this is not the only characteristic of the Emotion Wheels Concave.
In particular the Porsche is equipped with Emotion Wheels Concave in the black matt finishing with the upgraded carbon-wrap finishing of the rim wells. The rims measuring 8.5×19 / 11×19 inches bear the original tires of the dimensions 235/35ZR19 and 295/30ZR19.
Another highlight here is that the rims are factory-fitted with fully winterproof light alloy wheel and a replaceable high-grade steel rim-well. This leaves little possibility for scrapes and damages which can happen even to the most experienced of all drivers.
More updates from rather silent tuners. This one is from SpeedART – the SP81-R based on the PorscheBoxster/S type 981. It incorporates the full package: a body kit, some power increase, noise, wheels and a few suspension tweaks.
The SP81-R body kit comprises of a rear wing plus diffusor, side skirts and a front splitter. The wing attaches itself on the stock spoiler yet one can notice it from afar. The overall body color is one traditional for SpeedART – dual-themed paint first seen on the PS9-Panamera and S91-R Carrera projects. As for shoe ware, the SP81-R Porsches can come with SpeedART modular 20 and 21-inch LSC-Forged wheels – ultra-ultra light, unique and stylish.
Under the hood, both for the Boxster and Boxster S, there will be an ECU chip that will increase the power with around 20 hp and just as much Nm of torque. Not without the help of a sport exhaust system complete with high-performance catalysts and manifolds of course. That said, one also does get a sound switch just for showing off. Also, a range of tailpipes will be available for you to choose from – individuality at its best. A full set of a Titanium-made exhaust system will act as an alternative for the most enthusiastic among you.
The SP81-R Boxsters sit lower on their sport tuned suspensions, height adjustable absorbers and stiff coils. Still, an airlift suspension is also provided in other to tackle even the beefiest of speed humps.
Inside we are promised a completely new interior that makes use of Alcantra and leather. Better yet, SpeedART won’t deny that it will be much different from the interior seen in the most recent 911 at the Geneva Motorshow.
Here is a nice video by Marchettino, who filmed a modified Carrera GT. This supercar from Porsche comes with extremely loud straight pipes exhaust system. There are some very interesting moments including full throttle accelerations and high speed flybys.
This particular Carrera GT has Stage 3 package by EDO Competition including a huge rear wing, a performance package, suspension upgrade, high-performance brake pads and 6-point harness.
Porsche Carrera GT was introduced back in 2003, but it remains one of the most powerful and fast cars in the world. It has a 5.7 liter naturally aspirated V10 with 612HP (450 kW) at 8000RPM and 590Nm (435 lb-ft) of torque at 5750RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).
However, the EDO Competition Carrera GT boasts 770HP and 690Nm. 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of whopping 365 km/h (227 mph). The curb weight remains the same – just 1380 kg.
Carrera GT rolls enormous 9.5J x 19” rims at the front with 265/35 ZR20 tires and 12.5J x 20” at the rear with 335/30 ZR20.
A bit of trivia from the New York International Auto Show: the Porsche 911, the seventh one, has been named the 2012 World Performance Car. The news came at a press conference held by Bridgestone Corporation. There were other 33 contenders involved.
This annual award is usually presented after a careful assessment of the participants by 66 top-level automotive journalists from 25 countries around the world A.K.A an international jury. Each juror is typycally experienced in test driving, reviewing and evaluating outgoing models and are quite renown for it basically.
“We are honored that the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S was chosen by this distinguished group of jurors as the 2012 World Performance Car,” said Detlev von Platen, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “For just the seventh time in almost 50 years the iconic 911 has been revised to the point of being a new-generation, and winning this award from a global team of world-class journalists is excellent validation for the work and dedication of everyone at Porsche.”
The 2012 Porsche 911 is naturally, longer, wider, lower, more powerful and more efficient than its predecessor. Two variations of it deliver different amounts of power – the Carrera’s 3.5-liter boxer engine leaves you with 350 hp while the Carrera S gets 400 hp from its 3.8-liter unit. The choice of transmission for both cars, leaves you with two options – A seven-speed manual gearbox or the seven-speed dual-clutch Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) automatic. With the latter one, the Carrera gets from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds while the S needs only 3.9 seconds.
The interior is mainly driver oriented – no distractions and no needless features. Well, there is a radio. Leg room is now up the priority ladder as well and the center console is elevated so that its on an easy reach distance from the driver.
The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for the 2012 Carrera stands at $82,100 and for the S is $96,400 (base models, $950 destination charge not included)
P.S. – News about this latest award come shortly after the passing of Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche – a mournful day for the automotive industry. Grandson of Porsche’s found, Prof. Ferdinand was head of the Porsche design studio in the early sixties when and where the iconic profile of the 911 was born. At the time of his death he was 76 but his contribution to the world is to remain timeless. Our hearts go out to his friends and relatives.
News from the German tuner house SpeedART. It’s an update on their SP91-R project. As we all know by now, the subject is the latest 911/991 Carrera S (Porsche is sort of their turf) – fresh yet grunty, slippery and stylish it has all there is to have when it comes to performance customization.
When it comes to power, ECU upgrades and calibration are to be available for both the Carrera and Carrera S engines – that means a projected power increase of 25 hp and 20 Nm. On the other hand. the sport exhaust system, complete with sport-catalysts and manifolds, seems to do the trick. One can fit an optional sound switch function so that, at the very least, people can be fooled into thinking that 911 is even meaner and leaner. The tailpipes come in several different versions so that the owner is presented with as much flexibility of choice as possible. Hardcore enthusiasts will most definitely prefer the Titanium sport exhaust system which reduces the overall weight.
The suspension can be both street or racetrack friendly. It will harbour sports springs and sports absorbers with adjustable rebound and height. A separate air-lift module on the other hand will provide some clearance for that dragging SP91-R body kit when passing over a speed hump.
Yes, there will be a full body overhaul – front lip spoilers, diffusers, side skirts, rear wings… the lot. Everything is made to fit perfectly and seamlessly to the standard mounts.
For a complete look, the Carrera rolls on a set of specially designed modular LSC- FORGED 21-inch wheels – again light and agile, great for the overall performance.
Inside, what e find particularity fresh is the lime shades. The blue, contrasting stitching and the diamond patterns it forms, might be a bit too much but everything else is spot on – leather/Alcantra on the seats, dashboard etc. It’s a keeper.
Gemballa do not think that the latest Porsche 991 Carrera needs a performance boost. After all, it has a 340hp 3.4 liter flat six power plant that provides an electric enough feel. And if there is anything that can get close to the mighty GT3, it’s the Carrera S version that has a 3.8 liter, 400hp engine. What I’m trying to say is that the latest “designpackage” from Gemballa for the Carrera is strictly visual. At this point we have a few aerodynamic features, new wheels and a sonorous arrangement (exhaust pipes).
Gemballa CEO, Andreas Schwarz, explains: “Creating an even more individual appearance for this iconic sports car is a natural step for Gemballa, and we are proud to present our GT package for the new Carrera.”
The body kit consists of “made in Germany” type carbon fitments – a front bumper, a rear one and some side skirts. Everything is designed to fit perfectly to the standard mounting points of the car. Installing them requires no cutting or grinding so the return to stock components is quite feasible.
Gemballa have also provided four 21-inch wheels that are just a little bit lighter than the standard 19-inch ones on the Carrera and quite a lot lighter than the 20-inch set on the Carrera S.
“Lowering the unsprung weight despite going up a wheel size was a priority,” said Schwarz.
Eventually, we reach a point where we have to talk about pipes. About all six of them. The Gemballa exhaust system helps the engine with the breathing and the singing.
The tuning company LUMMA Design is going to preview what they have done on the Porsche Carrera 911 S for the first time. The project carries the name CLR 9 S and has aerodynamic package, beautifully designs light alloy rims and an attractive interior. Of course, the tuners have put a lot of attention on the details and this was made with the help of their CLR aerodynamic components. In particular, the front spoiler lip with integrated cup-spoiler sword is now combined with the CLR-design front grill frame. This undoubtedly this gives the LUMMA Design CLR 9 S very unique appearance. In addition, there have been included stylish headlights which add even further to the design. The overhanging fenders at the rear of the CLR 9 S are additionally emphasized by a three-part spoiler lip, which also provides increased down force at the rear axle. This results in improvement of the handling at high speeds.
With the installation of LUMMA Design four-pipe sports muffler made from a high-quality V4A-alloy and the matching tailpipes with a 90-millimeter diameter, the vehicle is now even sportier. The tailpipes, with their unique “pipe-in-pipe” design are also available individually, just like the CLR 9 S aerodynamic components, which are produced in OEM quality. Additionally, the LUMMA Designrear sports muffler is also available with valve control, which produces the gritty flat engine sound in an even more dynamic fashion. Of course, all this comes with an attractive exterior racing stripe kit. Furthermore, the Porsche sits on the unique LUMMA Edition “GS/R” Edition Sports Rims which are forged light-metal alloy rims. With a weight of just 9.4 kilograms in the 9 x 20” version and 11.4 kilogramsin the 12 x 20” variant, the “GS/R” forged rims are truly lightweight. They are also available in tow colors – silver and black. The wheels of the LUMMA Design CLR 9 S measure 9 x 20 inches at the front and 12 x 20 inches at the drive shaft. High-performance tires measuring 245/30-20 and 305/30-20 are installed at the front and rear respectively.
LUMMA Design Porsche CLR 9 S
LUMMA Design has used of course only high-quality materials combined with the finest craftsmanship in the transformation of the interior. In details it is full leather interior: a mix of red leather and black alcantara. The two-color finish in leather and alcantara can be seen on the dashboard, sports steering wheel, roof, door panels, central console and the many other interior features. Everything is wrapped in leather and alcantara, except for the aluminum pedals and the white instrument panel. In addition, the range of sophisticated accessories from LUMMA Designis also exquisite: the door sill panels are made of aluminum, there is also include leather-trimmed velour mats and interior panels in embossed carbon leather. The aluminum pedals are fitted with rubber studs, rendering them highly slip-resistant. The steering wheel on the other hand is all covered with alcantara.
With the worldwide debut of the LUMMA Porsche CLR 9 S at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, LUMMA Design will present a completely modified Porsche Carrera 911 while remaining true to the original Porsche design.

Porsche Cars North America have just released for sale the new 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S models across all showrooms in the United States. The latest 911 is probably the best of all 911 models ever made. The 911 Carrera and Carrera S are excellent choices for customers who want to experience driving fun and excitement of a true benchmark.
The 2012 the 911 has been completely redesigned. It preserves the classical 911 lines, but yet is improved in power and fuel economy. Although it is instantly recognizable Porsche 911, it hides a major secret: the new 2012 models have 90 percent of components are either new or fundamentally revised. First of all, the new Carreras are longer, lower and wider. In addition, they are 100 lbs. (43 kg) lighter, which make them faster and more efficient than previous models. Hence the new 911 is the ultimate blend of modern design, innovative and intelligent engineering and performance. Furthermore, both of the models as expected offer no less than excellent performance, due to some enhancements made. The 2012 911 Carrera includes brand new 350-horsepower (261 kW), 3.4-liter boxer engine which provides five more horsepower (HP) than the outgoing 3.6-liter engine. On the other hand the new 2012 Porsche Carrera S features a 400 HP (298 kW), 3.8-liter boxer engine. This makes improvement of 15 horsepower compared to its predecessor. The 911 Carrera with Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.4 seconds, while the Carrera S sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. The time for acceleration is further reduced to 3.9 seconds when 911 is equipped with the Sports Chrono Package Plus. SpeedART, the German tuning house are now promoting their latest product: SP91-R sounds like a Windows update but it actually is a performance kit for the new 911/991 Carrera S. The package is due to come in March during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show but one can tell that SpeedART are eager to share with what exactly is SP91-R
Lets start off with the power – 911’s usually do not fall short of it but SpeedART have decided to throw in a bit more just to be safe. An ECU upgrade and a modified exhaust system that includes sporty catalysts and manifolds results in a 25hp/20nm power increase. Driving enthusiasts can go with the “very light” Titanium sport exhaust systems while underaged customers can also opt for a sound switch function on the pipes for that extra grunt and character.

Aerodynamic tunes include an SP91-R bodykit. The one shown here is the subtle version of the wider and more aggressive one planned for the Geneva Motor Show. The new CS-rear wing is crafted in a way so to fit perfectly on the original stock 991 Carrera one. The whole kit seamlessly clips on to the already existing design line yet it gives the Porsche a completely new feel.
Inside, a feast of Alcantra and leather unravels itself as we notice the sporty steering wheel and the flappy-paddle shifters which complete the picture
Other modifications see “modular LSC- FORGED” wheels added which come in sizes 20” and 21”. A modified suspension set up will improve track behaviour and with the addition of an airlift system for rising and lowering the nose, urban environments will also be tackled.
The new 2012 Porsche 911 will be available in UK showrooms from this weekend (December 17). One lucky participant’s 911 will be turned from virtual dream into reality. You have just to specify your ideal new 911 using the on-line Porsche car configurator and enter your details before midnight on January 31 2012.
The winner will be invited to the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone to drive their perfect 911 on a half-day programme next summer.
