The debuting video is called “Cadillac ATS vs. the World” and is being released this week. In the undertaken adventure the ATS travels from the deserts of Morocco, to the streets of Monaco, to the Guoliang Tunnels in China and windswept Patagonia, Chile. But what is the aim of all this, of course no else but to show some versatile aspects of the car, such as agility, driving performance and efficient design.

In short, in Patagonia – the windiest place on earth, the ATS’s advanced aerodynamics are put to the test, while in Morocco, the sport sedan goes through a treacherous road in the Atlas Mountains that features 100 corners.

  • 2013 Cadillac SRX with new Cargo Management System

2013-Cadillac-SRX-THUMB2013 Cadillac SRX is entirelly ready for the summer vacation thank to its unique Cargo Management System. The latter is designed exactly for long weekends and driving vacations.

Behind the design philosophy of Cadillac‘s special trunk is not only the maximization of space but also its organization. In particular, the rear compartment Cargo Management System utilizes a U-Rail track system with an adjustable cargo fence. This one segments the area in order to kept items which are different in size and also to limit their movement.

Furthermore, the cargo fence can be removed, retracted and conveniently put beneath the load floor when it is not utilized. Additionally there is a cargo net, organizer or area divider which come as an option and can be used in place of the tubular fence.

There also can be found a rear latch positioned on the load floor. It has a waterproof bin 26 by 12 inches by 8 inches deep. On one hand, here the driver or the passengers can conveniently store their waste. On the other hand, this latch can be also used as a cooler or as another storage space for smaller items.

    2013 Cadillac SRX
    2013 Cadillac SRX

Moreover, the SRX comes with a smaller secondary bin, which holds the vehicle’s tire inflator kit that can be used as a pump.

On the both sides of the main bin are two smaller compartments, which are made in order to stow small tools. And the two-position cargo shade can server in terms of concealing the rear compartment when the hatch is closed.

In the vehicles passenger area can also be found several additional storage places. For instance, each door has upper and lower bins, as does the glove compartment. Additionally, the center console has an upper and lower level, where small items can be put.

Of course, a luxury crossover can’t go without cup holders. They are positioned between the front seats and have a dual-level function. They offer retractable floor that lets the driver or the passenger next to them to go from a small coffee to a big one at the flip of a switch.

Moreover, there is also a secret “false” floor, which can be perfectly utilized to contain important items such as wallet or wristwatch.

But this is not all; in front of the cup holders there is a small bin, which can house for example mobile phones.

At last, it is a necessity to mention that thanks to the rear programmable liftgate and more than 29 cubic feet of storage space behind the second row seating, there is enough space for four rolling suitcases and sports equipment.

In addition to that, if the space is not enough, then the 60/40 split rear seats come in. They fold flat thus making the cargo area grow in 61 cubic feet.

  • Cadillac ATS Price: $33,990

2013-Cadillac-ATS-thumbThe latest Cadillac ATS RWD sedan, gets a price tag which makes its future look good. Starting from $33,990, the 2.5-liter/30+ mpg model even comes with destination charges. It’s a small poke in the eye for Mercedes-Benz and Audi. Their own compact-sedans (the C250 and A4 respectfully) have a significantly higher price.

Besides the 2.5, for one can get the mid-range power train ($35,795) which is 2.0 but it is turbocharged thus more powerful and less thirsty. Manual and Automatic transmissions are available as is the choice between RWD and AWD. The top of the range model that costs $42,090, incorporates a 3.6-liter V6 engine rated at 320 horsepower. The transmission is strictly automatic and the standard equipment includes leather 8-way power seats with memory for settings storage, adaptive start, CUE tech and much more. Full specifications are due to came later on.

The CUE technology represents Caddilac’s user interface. It’s akin to that used in many smartphones and tablets. The idea is that it uses electrodes to sense the conductive properties of objects, such as a finger – in other words… a touchscreen.

The handling is also expected to be top-notch since the Nürburgring in Germany, among other tracks has been a favorite of Cadillac testing engineers for quite a while. The ATS is also lighter than the aforementioned A4 and C250 by around 100 pounds. The top-of-the-line 3.6 is expected to do 0 to 100 kph in less than 6 seconds.

  • 2013 Cadillac XTS Lighting – Luxury and Inspiration

The all-new 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan boasts more than 20 separate light sources that “greet” the driver in a carefully choreographed sequence when the key fob is pressed. It includes embedded in the door handles, Cadillac-signature vertical LEDs in the headlights and taillights and ambient lighting in and around. The lighting provides convenience and helps provide additional security to drivers in parking lots at night. The interior also boasts cooler blue lights for the car’s controls and instrumentation, while warmer lights highlight passenger areas.

“The new LED offerings now provide a new palette of color to bring more dramatic lighting effects that have never been available before. We sketched each phase of the process to carefully choreograph how every important area inside and outside of the vehicle would come up and fade back down, similar to a production crew lighting a theater stage.” said Christos Roustemis, Cadillac interior designer.

“In cars, just as in architecture, lighting defines how we feel about a space. It is both artistry and user experience. For me, the beauty is in the blends, how you layer the affects, mix the light sources, and how you package it into the final product.” said Rosemarie Allaire, a California-based architectural lighting designer.

The 2013 XTS lighting choreography is timed to the fraction of a second by the car’s central control system. It is cued by various triggers, such as the key fob, the doors and ignition switch.

  • Hennessey Cadillac vs Nissan GT-R – Interesting Outcome [Video]

Hennessey is a Texas tuning shop famous for creating Texas-sized horsepower numbers and for modifying super cars that will steal a Bugatti Veyron’s lunch money.” – TopGear USA

Ever wondered what it feels like to thunder down the road in a 6000 lbs fortress? Well, here is a video of a Cadillac Escalade humiliating a Nissan GT-R on a street drag race. Impossible, right? Not if Hennessey have something to do about it. The seemingly standard SUV actually has an HPE1000 Twin Turbo Upgrade on its drivetrain which boosts up the power up to the nuclear 1000 bhp. The company have replaced almost all there is to replace on the engine including the cylinder heads, the camshaft, intake manifolds, catalytic converters air filters etc. They have also fiddled with fuel management system, bolted on two ball bearing turbochargers and after much Dyno tuning and road testing, this is the result: A 60 mph sprint in 3.3 seconds and if you dare to keep your foot down for 11.3 second, you’ll get to 124 miles per hour (provided that it is run on 93 octane fuel).

    httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXpV8_LXrCM

Head-to-head, on paper, the Nissan is the underdog here: A “mere” V-6, 520 hp, 3.8 Liter engine. But let us not forget that the GT-R is a Nurburgring veteran and should not be ashamed of anything. In real life, it will pass trough the Escalade as soon as the first corner comes around. The point of that drag race really, is to show Hennessey flexing their muscle – A proof of how capable they are when it comes to extracting power from machinery.

  • 2013 Cadillac ATS

2013 Cadillac ATS thumbToday the brand Cadillac has just introduced the new 2013 Cadillac ATS. This is an all-new compact luxury sports sedan which has the aim to challenge the world’s best premium cars. It was developed with lightweight vehicle architecture and will go on sale this summer. What is so special about this vehicle is that the rear-drive ATS brings Cadillac’s blend of technologically driven performance, elegance and design. Its sophisticated driving experience is improved with Cadillac CUE, a comprehensive, in-vehicle user experience that merges intuitive design with industry-first controls and commands for information and media data. This new Cadillac ATS is an expression of Cadillac’s Art & Science execution philosophy. Moreover it was built on a foundation of driving dynamics and mass efficiency. It is the most agile and lightweight Cadillac, with one of the lowest weights in the segment – less than 3,400 pounds (1,542 kg).

In order to make the best out of the vehicle, contributing components and features include nearly 50/50 weight balance; cadillac’s first five-link independent rear suspension using lightweight, high-strength steel and efficient straight link designs; a multi-link double-pivot MacPherson-strut front suspension with direct-acting stabilizer bar; driver-adjustable FE3 sport suspension with Magnetic Ride Control real-time damping; underbody aerodynamic shields; premium (belt driven) electric variable-effort steering gear from ZF Steering Systems; four-channel ABS with available Brembo performance brakes; available all-wheel drive.

    2013 Cadillac ATS
    2013 Cadillac ATS

The first of the engines used, is the two four-cylinders and a V-6 (for North America) which delivers a strong power to the ATS and capitalizes on the car’s lightweight structure to complement its performance with efficiency. The optional engines include an 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 270 horsepower (201 kW) and Cadillac’s award-winning 3.6L V-6, estimated at 318 horsepower (237 kW). To go into details the new 2.0T is one of the most power-dense engines in the industry. In addition ATS will offer both manual and automatic transmission options, along with rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations. The ATS will deliver peak highway fuel economy of more than 30 mpg.

ATS is significantly lighter than other cars in the same segment. Thus there is refined driving experience. The low weight gives the ATS a more nimble and controllable feel, while also optimizing the performance and efficiency of the powertrains. In order to make the weight less the designers have included an aluminum hood, magnesium engine mount brackets and even lightweight, natural-fiber door trim panels. They all contribute to the ATS’s low overall mass. Moreover engineers found they could improve fuel economy with a cast iron differential rather than a lighter aluminum version. This focus on load management and straight links gave the opportunity of huge weight savings without using alternate materials. This helps offset the weight of the engine and transmission at the front of the vehicle, helping the ATS deliver its near-perfect 50/50 weight balance, while also contributing to lower noise and vibration. A similar approach was taken on the wheels, where extra structural aluminum was strategically added to further reduce vibration.

Furthermore another highlight about 2013 Cadillac ATS is that it is an absolute embodiment of Cadillac’s Art & Science design language. A long, 109.3-inch (2,775 mm) wheelbase and wide front/rear tracks are the cornerstones of the ATS’s firmly planted stance, which is enhanced by short overhangs and taut sheet metal that appears to wrap tightly around the tires. Seventeen-inch wheels are standard and 18-inch wheels are available. In addition vertical lighting elements are included. For example there is new LED front signature lighting detail, as well as illuminating door handles and active grille shutters. The grille shutters close at certain highway speeds to reduce aerodynamic drag and enhance fuel economy.

And what about the interior: it is all driver-focused. It features integrated technology and crafted materials which complements the exterior elements and supports the ATS’s driving experience. Available performance seats have power-adjustable bolsters to optimize lateral support during high-load cornering. Another improvement in the interior is an instrument panel that wraps into the doors and a center stack in the mid-instrument panel that flows into the center console. LED lighting for the bold gauge cluster enables clear, at-a-glance viewing in all lighting conditions, while ambient lighting accents functional elements of the console and doors. There is also used real wood, plated metal plating and carbon fiber trim and Cadillac’s cut-and-sew instrument panel, console and doors. To make it perfect for the customer, there is the choice of many interior color themes, each with unique accent trim material.

    2013 Cadillac ATS Interior

The ATS is offered with Cadillac CUE. This is a comprehensive, in-vehicle experience which merges intuitive design with auto industry-first controls and commands for information and entertainment data. Here everything is developed to be unique for each consumer. To go further into details CUE (Cadillac User Experience) pairs entertainment and information data from up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, USBs, SD cards and MP3 players with a vehicle infotainment system that reduces complexity through customized information, voice commands and fewer buttons and larger icons. However the heart of the CUE is the eight-inch LCD multi-touch sensitive screen, mounted into the top of the central instrument panel and a motorized fully capacitive faceplate at the bottom concealing a 1.8L storage area. The LCD screen displays CUE’s home page, which resembles a smart phone’s screen by using large, easy-to-target icons to execute commands. Additionally to the CUE, the ATS has other technologies included: bluetooth phone connectivity with voice recognition; USB, auxiliary and SD memory card ports; SiriusXM Satellite Radio with three-month trial subscription; Keyless access and keyless push-button start; reconfigurable 5.7-inch instrument panel cluster display; full-color reconfigurable heads-up display. The ATS is offered as a standard model or in Luxury, Performance and Premium Collections. A Bose® Cabin Surround audio system is offered on the standard model, as well as Luxury and Performance Collections. It is standard with the Premium Collection. A navigation system is also available with Luxury and Performance Collections and standard with the Premium Collection. According to safety issues, the ATS is based on Cadillac’s “control and alert” which features radar, cameras and ultrasonic sensors. Moreover the safety features put more attention to road hazards, and intervenes to help the driver avert potential crashes. For example Cadillac’s advanced crash-avoidance systems will act without the driver, such as automatic braking, which will activate based on information indicating potential hazards.

    2013 Cadillac ATS
    2013 Cadillac ATS

However one of the most sophisticated features in the vehicle is the Front and Rear Automatic Brakes. It relies on short-range radar technology and ultrasonic sensors to help the driver prevent front and rear low-speed collisions via a progression of alerts that extend to complete braking, if necessary. On the other hand there are some optional advanced safety features, which include: full speed range adaptive cruise control, intelligent brake assist, forward collision alert, brake pre-fill automatic collision preparation, lane departure warning, side blind zone alert, rear vision camera with dynamic guidelines, adaptive forward lighting, hill hold/start assist (standard, manual transmission). These advanced technology safety features complement the ATS’s roster of other safety features, including eight standard air bags (10 with optional features), safety belt pretensioners and load limiters, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with traction control and four-wheel disc brakes with four-channel ABS.

  • 2012 Cadillac Escalade Security Features

2012 Cadillac Escalade Premium Collection ThumbWhat a start of the year for Cadillac: just underneath the surface of the new 2012 Cadillac Escalade are new security features. Because the segment-leading luxury SUV is at the top of annual most-stolen vehicle lists, the brand has now developed a new way to combat thieves who have pushed and towed the SUV. The Escalade is well-protected against typical drive-away grand theft auto through existing security features and standard OnStar security technology. The aim is to make the Escalade a tough target for thieves without any added inconvenience for customers. The new system features strong protections, while working noiselessly in the background.

To go into details, the new 2012 security enhancements include PASS Key 3+, which is a sophisticated encryption system for the key; key cylinder and ignition system; a more-robust steering column-lock system that makes it nearly impossible to maneuver the Escalade onto a flatbed; an available inclination sensor that sets off an alarm when the system senses an unwarranted change of the angle of the vehicle, such as would occur with towing, flat-bedding or lifting the vehicle; an available shock sensor intended to reduce content theft and push-away theft by sounding the alarm when the vehicle is “shocked,” such as by breaking window glass; and finally, there is also available new wheel lock system to help prevent the theft of Escalade’s wheels and tires.

In addition OnStar provides standard security with a distant ignition lock that can prevent the vehicle from starting if a break-in is detected. And if a vehicle is stolen, OnStar will also show the vehicle location and remotely slow the vehicle down to assist law enforcement in vehicle recovery. Furthermore the new inclination sensors will make it more difficult to push or tow this SUV undetected. Unnoticed thefts and break-ins will be also hampered by the added shock sensors and locking devices.

Undeniably all these types of innovative theft prevention technologies are an important step in lowering thefts.
