The era of the slow low revving huge American engines faded. GM has introduced a new engine, which will be installed in the 2012 Buick LaCrosse. It is a more powerful and fuel-efficient version of the 3.6 liter V6, which will be a no-additional-cost alternative on select trim levels to the standard 2.4L four-cylinder engine with eAssist.
The new aluminum-block 3.6 liter V6 with direct-injection and variable valve timing develops 303PS (223 kW) and 358Nm (264 lb-ft) of torque. All that power is delivered to the front wheels. Still, it returns 17 mpg in city and 27 mpg on highway, which is around 13.8 liters and 8.7 liters per 100 km.
“The changes we’ve made to the 3.6L V-6 represent greater refinements to an already well-balanced package,” commented Tom Sutter, global V-6 chief engineer.
“We are using the latest designs, lighter-weight components and enhancements to improve the engine’s performance, efficiency and durability.”, he added.
“Thanks to increased use of lightweight components and other enhancements, the new 3.6L V-6 offers 2012 LaCrosse buyers improved acceleration with no hit to fuel efficiency,” said Doug Osterhoff, LaCrosse product marketing manager.
“This new engine is an attractive option on the car that’s been widely hailed as one of the most attractive luxury sedans on the road today.”, he finished.

Buick Envision SUV concept vehicle just made its first public appearance today at the Auto Shanghai 2011. 
The Shanghai division of GM has officially confirmed that the all-new Buick Envision SUV concept will make its first public appearance at Auto Shanghai 2011 on April 18. 
Looks like the Аmerican manufacturer Buick will go green with the development of Ampera model. The car essentially is Opel Ampera with a new badge and some other modifications.Outside, Buick Ampera features waterfall grille and the interior boasts leather upholstery, wood trim and some metallic accents. Still, the price in of Ampera will be much lower in the US than in Europe.Buick Ampera will be powered by an electric motor with 151PS (111 kW) and 368Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque, which is available with starting the engine. The electricity for the motor is provided by a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery. The acceleration is satisfying – 0 to 60 mph in 9 seconds and the top speed is 161 km/h (100 mph). However, if the batteries are depleted, a 1.4 liter petrol engine will extended the range up to 500 km (310 miles).Buick Ampera will more likely to go in production and it is expected to be launched in 2013.It is interesting that even countries like the US are developing electric vehicles. The prices of the gasoline will grow bigger and bigger and the electricity is a way to cope with the problem.
From this fall Buick is expanding its staggering Regal range with the addition of a new, ultra efficient member, the 2012 Buick Regal with eAssist fuel-saving technology. 
At the forthcoming North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Buick will reveal publicly its third new model in the past two years and first in the compact luxury segment, the 2012 Buick Verano. 
2011 Buick GL8 is officially unveiled for China. The van is priced at 288 000 RMB ($43 195) and deliveries are scheduled to begin in January next year.
2012 Buick Regal GS is high-performance midsize sport sedan, which features 2.0 litter turbocharged petrol engine with 255hp and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). It also boasts Interactive Drive Control System, which alloys the driver to change the suspension settings and steering sensitivity like a video game. General Motors Company announced that the new name of Buick’s next mid-size sport sedan will be Buick Regal. The first Regal came on the market in 1991. The company made a facelift version of it in 1997 and the Regal came of stage in 2004. However, Buick GMC is planning to bring Buick Regal in production.
