  • Avenir-Inspired 2017 Buick LaCrosse Previewed

2017 Buick LaCrosse Teaser2017 Buick LaCrosse has a brand new and more expressive face. The proof for this is the teaser image that has just been shown by the famous American company. In addition, Buick also says that LaCrosse’s design is inspired by the latest Avenir concept and it is actually a striking evolution from current Buick models.

    Impressive or Expressive Front?

As you can see from the picture above, the car has a grille with a brand new design. In fact, it also comes to put a new face on the brand. This new appearance includes three-color tri-shield insignia set on a wing-shaped element. An interesting historical fact is that the tri-shield logo is rooted in company founder David Dunbar Buick’s Scottish family crest.

SEE ALSO: 2015 Buick Avenir Concept Revealed at NAIAS

The trio of colors is contrasted via the darkened waterfall grille bars. The same element is also spanning the width of the opening, and in such way it is connecting the grille and headlamps, thus highlighting LaCrosse’s new sculptural surfacing.

    Other Details

Initially, the design of Avenir was inspired by the 1954 Wildcat II concept. And the biggest news is that by 2018 this will be the new face of all Buick models.

Furthermore, the next-gen LaCrosse has a design which is based on a new chassis that is stronger but lighter than the current model. This chassis also promises more dynamic driving experience. Buick also revealed that new technologies such as the five-link rear suspension will be featured. By the way, this suspension contributes to a more responsive ride, while at the same time taking Buick’s signature quietness to a new threshold.

We don’t have to wait much longer than November to witness the full reveal of 2017 Buick LaCrosse. The premiere of the car is scheduled for the Los Angeles Auto Show.

  • 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring: Is This the Better Version?

2016 Buick Encore frontDistinguishing. Attractive. Sexy. These are just some of the superlatives which can be used to describe the 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring. Mentioning the fact that it is super comfortable just metamorphoses the SUV into a top of the range model! It is truly a car for people with character. And that includes men as well.

The new Encore Sport Touring had quite successful year in 2015 and from what we can see it seems like 2016 is going to be promising as well. Hopefully the car will exceed last year’s number of sales which went up by 29 percent for the first six months. Well done Buick!

This time around the compact crossover is even more exclusive as it will be fitted with an all-new 1.4L turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It also has direct injection and stop/start technology. The only thing in common with the standard Encore 1.4L turbo power unit is found in its displacement. Apart from that, we can say only one thing – welcome updates!

All in all, we have bolstered features such as:

    • Engine efficiency which is due to the reduced friction. So now there are low-friction piston rings, a low-friction camshaft drive and a low-friction oil pump
    • More strength and lowered down engine vibration thanks to a durable steel crankshaft
    • Powder-metal steel connecting rods and tough hypereutectic-alloy aluminum pistons
    • A variable-flow oiling system that helps maximize fuel efficiency
    • Piston-cooling oil jets that decrease piston temperatures. This results in boosted performance, improved efficiency and better emissions

    2016 Buick Encore rear

Doesn’t sound bad at all, right? But let’s make the whole picture even more fuming by pointing out that the engine of the Buick Encore Sport Touring is capable of generating around 153 HP (112 kW) and 240 Nm of torque (177 lb-ft). This has been estimated to be approximately 11 percent more horsepower and nearly 20 percent more torque than the Encore’s standard engine. Which is great.

Exteriorly, this red little beast demonstrates spirit, stance and action which are able to catch the eye of James Bond who has decided to go on a vacation to cool his temper a bit. The hot bodylook is complemented by 18-inch aluminum premium-finish wheels, body-color door handles, winged rear spoiler, enhanced outside rearview mirrors with signal indicators and blue-accented halogen composite projector-beam headlamps.

Inside drivers can enjoy fold-flat front passenger seat which extends the cargo length and accommodates items up to eight feet long, QuietTuning with Bose Active Noise Cancellation technology and OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hotspot, including a three-month/3GB data trial.

However, there is one drawback. If you like the 2016 Encore Sport Touring, you will have to wait until this fall when the car will officially go on sale.

  • 2016 Buick Cascada Will Demonstrate Some Bold Style and Safety Features

2016 Buick Cascada convertible will be offered early the next year with numerous add-ons, that altogether bring a refined and stylish appearance, wonderful performance and versatility and of course, exceptional pleasure of driving.

What is different, is that the whole body construction now allows the top, the folding mechanism and the roll bar will be stowed below car’s “belt line” and under the hard cover, which will bring a smooth and stylish profile. This configuration also brings some more cargo space: 22.4-inch by 12.6-inch (320 mm by 570 mm) pass-through from the trunk to the passenger compartment. We all love the extra cargo volume, dont’we? Furthermore, when the 50/50-spit rear seat is folded, some long items, for example a snowboard, can be easily stowed inside. Handy.

And there are more examples of engineer wonders. For example, the roll bar system enables the rear-seat cargo pass-through and when it is deployed, the roll bars extend with about 14 inches to match the height of the windshield.

In fact, the whole reinforced body of the Cascada supports the roll bar system and brings some comfortable and pleasurable drive. Some more of the included elements are:

    • A-pillars featuring press-hardened steel in the inner structures and reinforced with high-strength, hot-rolled and cold-bent tubes within the pillars
    • Reinforced rocker panels with increased cross section
    • Underbody reinforcements including X-braces, V-braces and additional brackets
    • A reinforced “torsion box” bulkhead behind the rear seats that incorporates the pop-up roll bars

  • Buick Demonstrates More Efficient Way of Painting Vehicles

It is a good thing to hear, that residential and commercial paint manufactures are developing technologies, that will bring lesser impact on nature in their future work. It is incredible, how just the paint job of vehicles uses over seventy percent of the overall energy, used to bring a car together. To be precise, 2.5 megawatt hours are needed to paint a car. This is the electrical bill for a nine weeks, if this amount of energy was used by a typical US home.

But there are some good news. Since 2011, Orion Assembly, the Buick Verano home, have pioneered in the use of a special water-based “three-wet” paint technology. The process eliminates the need of a blake oven, which is usually used in the process of painting a vehicle. The result is a three-layer paint – primer, color and clear coat – that is applied to one over another before the previous layer is still wet. Using this way, Orion Assembly now uses only one megawatt hour of energy to paint a car.

Buick is a worldwide modern and luxury brand, that offers vehicles with unseen design, incredible interiors and high-tech gadgets, that are delivered with a high-quality yet efficient performance. Buick attracts customers with its luxury model lineup in North America and China.

The double-sweep is also there, being typical for all Buick sedans. The beautiful silhouette of the Verano is supported by 17-inch 10-spoke alloys mated to Continental MC5 225/45 R17 sports tires.

  • 2015 Buick Avenir Concept Revealed at NAIAS

2015 Buick Avenir Concept will surprise us in the New Year with changed design proportion and rejuvenated interior. The car has just been introduced and it is currently making its world debut at the North American International Auto Show.  “Avenir” stands for future in French and this is no coincidence, since the car is distinguished by its futuristic looks – inside and out. First we see that the model features premium sports proportions and it actually embodies and interpretation of the original Buick design.

Avenir can show-off further with sculptural surfacing, expressive proportion and a sweep-spear bodyside. On the other hand, the interior ensures maximum comfort and piece of mind for the driver and passengers.

And have you noticed the long hood and the wheels-at-the-corners stance? However, the most striking difference from the contemporary Buick models is the new grille design. It includes a large opening highlighted by a return to the three-color (red, silver and blue) Buick tri-shield insignia, accented by wing-shaped elements. This new design element is flanked by bold headlamps that of course feature LEDs.

Buick designers have prepared for the Avenir a sophisticated color palette, which includes a Crystalline exterior color. This paint finish accentuates to another level Avenir’s body lines. In addition, it also complements the interior perfectly.

Speaking of the cabin, it has only space for four persons. The interior focuses on the easier management of technologies and enhances the feelings of personal space and well-being. The surfaces are inspired by nature and sea waves and this can be seen in design motifs, which are featured on the seats and even carried over to the carpet.

Light and natural tones adorn the interior. They are blended with oiled and buffed wood trim and accented by Galvano satin-chrome elements. In terms of functionality – it is manifested in the car’s device-integration technologies. They have been designed to lift the user’s mood and make daily life easier.

For instance, Avenir instantly configures gauge cluster and infotainment screen displays based on prior customization. At the same time it can also recognize user’s music preferences and recently visited locations.

At last, the personal connectivity has been extended to the rear-seat passengers. They have USB ports and video screens, which allow them to plug in to their favorite media and slip into complete relaxation.
