  • AC Schnitzer ACS4 BMW 2.8i Coupe Police Concept [VIDEO]

    AC-Schnitzer-ACS4-BMW-4-Coupe-shadowAC-Schnitzer-ACS4-BMW-4-Coupe-medium

VDAT (from German: Verban Der Automobil Tuner) stands for the “Association of German Vehicle Tuners”, and the Essen Motor Show is where all of the members have a get together and show off their ambitious, and sometimes even mad, projects. Annually, however, they take the opportunity to work together on a concept vehicle as part of a campaign called “Tune it! Safe!” What that mutual effort aims to show, is that one can still make insanely cool and fast vehicles and be responsible all the while. So nothing like the R8 from yesterday then. For the fourth consequent year, the subject vehicle was a police car (a BMW 428i Coupé, to be precise). Baddies, beware!

It would appear that most of the credit for this year’s concept goes to AC Schnitzer. In fact, it is called the ACS4 2.8i Coupé which really means that most of the work was done by them. What they did was to add a little more oomph to the standard 2.8i engine, fiddle with the suspension, install some spoilers, and throw in a couple of accessories for the inside. The only other companies mentioned are the ones that provided the Foliatec (responsible for the police décor) and Hella (RTK 7 signalling system). Hankook, on the other hand, are said to be the chief sponsors behind the project. That’s why the AC Schnitzer Type VIII Lighweight Forged Wheels get to wear two pairs of Hankook Ventus S1evo tires in sizes 245/30 R21

With the AC Shnizer performance upgrade, the BMW now boasts a power value of 294 hp (up a sensible notch from 245 hp). As a result, the top speed is now limited to 155 mph; and 0 to 62 is done in 5,7 seconds. The based-in-Aachen guys claim that now the CO2 value per HP sees an improvement over the standard setup.

Because the torque is also up to 420 Nm, the ACS4 needs something to tame the additional grunt and put it to use. This is where the AC Schnitzer racing suspension comes in place. It ha has adjustable bump and rebound settings and lowers the whole of the car with around 25 mm. Hopefully, the officers of the law will still be able to clear a speed hump withouth wasting the AC Schnitzer front splitter. There’s also a spoiler at the roof and at the back.

Inside aluminum seems to be the predominant theme – “Black Line” (still aluminum) handbrake handle and gear knob plus aluminum pedals and foot rest. There’s also a new key holder and velour floor mats – fascinating.

So, there you have it. Responsible. sensible, cool and safe in just about every sense of the word.

  • TEASER: BMW Bullshark by Vilner [VIDEO]

The best project of the Bulgarian luxury tuning company Vilner has just been teased via an exclusive video which you can watch below. This time the creative tuners have decided to entirely transform BMW 6 Series (E63).

Since we are familiar with their craftsmanship and talent, and have seen the unique transformation of Bentley Continental GT, we are undoubtedly expecting to see one of the most exquisite tunings ever made. In this project Vilner was inspired by one of the greatest predators on our planet – the shark.

Even more, it has offered its unique vision for this BMW, which now proudly carries the name Bullshark. From the video we can draw the conclusion that the magic hands of the team have given the E63 new aggressive headlights, new side fenders that look like branchia and a completely new front fascia that definitely puts an impression on one’s mind as if they are being watched by a shark.

It is also noticeable that the side rearview mirrors have received a carbon fiber treatment, while regarding the back of the car, the Bullshark got taillights that have unusual form for the original model. So we are wondering whether we are to see an entire facelift of the rear.

Nothing around the interior has been shown in the footage. However, knowing the capabilities of Vilner, we are sure that we are to be revealed a real embodiment of  perfection.

  • A Subtle LEIB Engineering BMW E93 M3

    LEIB-Engineering-BMW-E93-M3-shadowLEIB-Engineering-BMW-E93-M3-medium

At first glance, you might think that there’s nothing out of the ordinary with this compact BMW. You’d even be hard pressed to identify it as an E93 M3, but it is. Not only that, but it has also been through the works of LEIB Engineering – a group of after-market experts based in Germany who have chosen to approach the Bavarian in a very subtle way. Even the wheels were specifically chosen not to impress – 1-series M coupé alloys in sizes 9×19 and 10×19

Of course that elegant discreetness vaporizes once you open the bonnet. The signature orange of the SK II CS compressor system make your eyes bleed. That’s right. LEIB Engineering are working exclusively with G-Power components. In other words, we have a belt ASA T1-523 supercharger, and additional fuel pump, new injector nozzles, colder type of spark plugs and an induction air track made from a blend of carbon fiber and stainless steel. Sports air filters and ECU tweaking also come with the package. What you get then, is a 610 hp V8 with 590 Nm of torque.

There’s a proper sound track as well: a custom made exhaust system which features not only a double 100-cell sports catalytic converter, but also a valve which can be controlled from the steering wheel:

“This allows for the modification of the exhaust sound with a touch of the button, from the sonorous yet non-pervasive rumble up until the virtually unfiltered and ear-splitting V8 roar.” – argue from LEIB

As a final touch, a KW DDC coilover kit has been bolted on and integrated with the M’s iDrive software so that you can fiddle with the settings at any given moment.

  • Atlantis Blue D2Forged BMW M3 CV13

D2Forged-BMW-M3-CV13-THUMBBMW E92 M3 is one of the most desired cars around the globe. Its one-of-a-kind Atlantis Blue paint finish contributes towards the exclusive look of this model as well as it corresponds to its aggressive sporty personality.

This paint color is undoubtedly shockingly different, vivid, but what made a particular M3 model even more spectacular was the addition of new wheels. Those responsible for the modification are the tuners at D2Forged Wheels, who are well experienced in delivering unique “shoes” for the exclusive cars on the road.

They have decided to equip this BMW with a set of D2Forged CV13 Deep Concave wheels, in the size of 19×9.5″ at the front and 19×11″ at the rear. They have a brilliant multispoke split design, which definitely matches the lines of the BMW M3.

In addition, the wheels are finished in Brushed Aluminum and include Chrome Lip as well as Gloss black inner. The result is, to say at least, impressive.

Unfortunately no modifications were made regarding the power output. The E92 M3 is powered by the 4.0 liter V8 engine, which produces 420 hp (309 kW) at 8300RPM and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) at 3900RPM. The car needs only 4.6 seconds to cover the acceleration sprint from 0 to 100 km/h on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

  • G-Power BMW E92 M3 Hurricane RS – 720HP and 700Nm

G-Power has revealed their latest project based on BMW E92 M3. The sports coupe has received a number of upgrades, but the most important is the performance package – SK III “Sporty Drive”.

The performance upgrade include an ASA T1-724 supercharger, MAHLE forged pistons and new connecting rods. There is also a full titanium sports exhaust system and a modified crankshaft. The engine displacement has grown up to 4.6 liters, instead of 4.0.

    The result is spectacular – 720HP (530 kW) and 700Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.5 seconds and a top seed of 340 km/h (211 mph).

The exterior comes with full aerodynamics body kit including a front spoiler, bonnet and a boot lid with tear-off edge. The M3 HURRICANE RS aerodynamic program is manufactured from supremely light and highly strong Carbon fibre in a gas-proof autoclave. The package saves more than 10kg.

Other highlights include G-Power Clubsport coil-over suspension and 20” G-Power Silverstone Diamond forged wheels. The tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in the dimension 255/30 ZR 20 on the front axle and 295/25 ZR 20 for the rear axle to keep the vehicle in contact with the road. Braking is done with the G-POWER-ceramic brakes on the front and rear axle, which provide low-weight and reliable high-performance braking. „Fade“ is therefore a foreign word for the 6-piston brake calipers in front which bite on 396 mm rotors and the 4-piston calipers at the rear axle which clamp on 380 mm rotors.

  • 2014 BMW S 1000 R – 160HP and 112Nm

BMW has announced the new 2014 S 1000 R, which is directly derived from the S 1000 RR superbike and uses the same innovative technology. The simplified appearance of the new S 1000 R exudes an aggressive, dynamic energy.

The engine is a 1.0 liter (999 cc) four-cylinder with 160HP (118 kW) at 11,000 RPM and 112Nm (83 lb-ft) at 9,250 RPM. It provides punchy low-end response that is ideal on twisty single-lane roads. Among other things, this was achieved by using redesigned cylinder head ducts, modified cam profiles and appropriately modified engine management. The new BMS-X engine management system also supports an E-Gas “throttle-by-wire” system.

The S 1000 R comes with two riding modes and ASC (Automatic Stability Control) as standard. The “Rain” and “Road” modes cater to different road surface conditions using different power and torque curves, and applying different levels of Race ABS and ASC intervention. This provides an important safety bonus, particularly under variable road conditions.

Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), incorporating two additional riding modes – “Dynamic” and “Dynamic Pro” – is available as a factory option. This option allows riders to make the most of the S 1000 R’s sporty performance potential both on the road and on the race track. Dynamic Traction Control, which includes a lean angle sensor, offers safe and dynamic acceleration which is currently state-of-the-art for a production motorcycle.

The new S 1000 R’s sports roadster personality is also mirrored in the styling. With its “tail up – nose down” stance, the S 1000 R’s appearance immediately suggests aggressive performance and dynamism. Like the RR, the S 1000 R, too, is distinctive and instantly recognizable. It has a face that stands out in a crowd.

Race-inspired features also extend to the cockpit of the S 1000 R. With an LC display with analog tachometer, the instrumentation offers an unrivalled amount of information in this segment, from the gear display and riding mode display to a lap timer. For optimal gear changes, an individually programmable shift indicator light is installed.

    Options:

    •          Sports package with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Riding mode Pro (“Dynamic”, “Dynamic Pro”), gear shift assistant and cruise control.
