  • Audi R8 Spyder V10 is one step closer to your garage

Audi R8 Spyder V10 front view

Audi is taking first pre-orders for the R8 Spyder V10

Audi R8 Spyder V10 made its debut at the 2016 New York International Auto Show in March. Now it is time for the first wanna-be owners to make probably the most important step in their lives and purchase the model. The car is exceptional.

It is driven by the 5.2 FSI engine, which produces 540 hp (397 kW) and delivers 540 Newton meters (398.3 lb-ft) of torque, thus accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.6 seconds. The top speed is of 318 km/h (197.6 mph). And the benefit of the open-top experience the car offers is that the driver can enjoy the sound of the engine, when driving with the soft top folded back.

SEE ALSO: Audi R8 Spyder: The Star at the New York Auto Show

Another advantage of the R8 V10 Spyder is that it is based on the new Audi Space Frame in combination with the aluminum components and structurally-integrated carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. This is important because it accounts for better performance and improved torsional rigidity by 50 percent. In addition, the new lightweight construction results in a curb weight of the supercar of just 1,720 kilograms (3,792.0 lb), whilst its dry weight comes in mere 1,612 kilograms (3,553.9 lb). Thanks to this, the car actually uses ten percent less fuel!

Audi R8 Spyder V10 side view

Speaking of the engine, we forgot to mention that it is connected to the seven-speed S tronic transmission, which transfers power to the newly developed quattro drive system. Depending on the driving situation, the entire power can be directed to either the front or rear wheels.

Of course, all functions are driver-oriented, allowing the driver to keep their hands firmly on the steering wheel and eyes focused on the road. If one asks about the important information, it is displayed on a 12.3-inch fully digital Audi virtual screen, showing everything in cool 3D graphics. In fact, the R8 Spyder is also smart-phone connected, being the first model to feature the Audi smartphone interface.

LEDs with newly developed laser technology are lightning up the way, especially for those who really want to get their booties inside the R8 V10 Spyder. The pre-sales of the hand-built (almost) Audi R8 Spyder V10 begin today in Europe with a starting price of €179,000.

  • Mean, confident and flexible: 2016 Audi Q2 reveals brand’s badass side

2016 Audi Q2Neat design meets advanced technology: new Audi Q2 will join the powerful Q range and will try to prove itself worthy. How? With a relatively low price tag and all that defines Audi as a manufacturer: superior quality, neat style, tons of technologies and some refreshments. And without further due, let’s see whether this sweetie will deserve its place among its brothers, or will it just stand there and be pretentious about it!

    Exterior styling

    2016 Audi Q2

This is a muscular-looking SUV with straight lines and sharp edges. The front shows a serious face and depicts the sense of massiveness thanks to the large grille, straight headlamp lines and overall wide shoulders. At the same time the eye-catching low roof contributes to the sporty nature of the vehicle and enhances this aggressive and badass appearance.

The sides show a pretty straightforward styling: the same straight and sharp lines are present, the large wheels enhance the aggressive styling and the small windows do resemble the mean spirit of the vehicle.

SEE ALSO: You need only five steps to boost your Audi S1 to 380HP and 540Nm!

And the back? Well, we are a bit disappointed. It is not ugly, but does not depict the aggressive Audi character, as we have expected. Generic lines, shapeless backlights and empty space is what we encountered. Our souls were left empty as well . Sad, isn’t it?

    Drivetrain: customization at its best

Q2 comes with a choice of two four-cylinder power units: a 1.6 TDI with 115hp power output and the Cylinder-on-Demand 1.4 TFSI with 150hp. There are two more engines, a three-cylinder 1.0 TFSI and a four-cylinder 2.0 TDI that will be available later this year.

Furthermore, buyers can choose from a six-speed manual or the special S Tronic Dual Clutch gearbox with seven speeds. There is also a semi-independent suspension, progressive steering as a standard and adaptive dampers. How cool is that?

    Additional Equipment

    2016 Audi Q2

Of course, buyers will be granted with Audi’s virtual cockpit and a sweet heads-up display, along with tons of driver assistance systems. There is Audi Pre-Sense System with Pedestrian Recognition as part of the standard equipment. Also present are the Stop&Go funciton, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane-Departure Warning System, Audi Side Assist and Lane-Keep Assist. Sweet.

    Additional customization and features

    2016 Audi Q2

Individual as the driver, Q2 can be tweaked in many ways: there are several equipment packages, numerous exterior colors to choose from, and of course – interior trims, seat upholstery variants and more. By more I mean optional LED lightning package and special 19-inch alloys that can replace the 16-inch standard wheels.

It looks like this time Audi team decided to rely on direct in-your-face styling and appearance, along with heavily customizable systems and additions. We think this strategy will gain some more popularity for the whole brand. But tell me, what do you think?

  • You need only five steps to boost your Audi S1 to 380HP and 540Nm!

    2016 B&B Automobiltechnik Audi S1 front view

B&B Automobiltechnik offers power upgrades for Audi S1

B&B Audi S1 is powerful beyond measure, metaphorically speaking. The tuning company has raised the horsepower and torque of this little wolf by applying five separate stages. All you need to know from the start is that the standard output of the S1 is 231 hp (170 kW) and 370 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. A true pocket rocket!

There is a big need for power updating obviously and here is how they have been made with these five simple steps. Basically, there has been applied not only software optimization, but also significant hardware changes. Here are the details.

SEE ALSO: Believe it or not but this Audi RS3 can make it to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds

Stage 1 starts with “simple” engine conversion that includes fuelling and ignition mapping as well as elimination of the top speed limiter. The result is not much, but still satisfying: 286 hp (210 kW) and 425 Nm (314 lb-ft).

Stage 2 is about optimization of the intake paths and air ducts, thus making it possible for the Audi to produce 310 hp (228 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). The third stage also adds hardware: a B&B downpipe with sports catalyst, which reduces backpressure. As a result, the S1 achieves 326 hp (240 kW) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft).

    2016 B&B Automobiltechnik Audi S1 engine

At the next stage the experts at B&B substitute the standard turbocharger with a new one, change the oil cooling system too, and remap everything accordingly. The result of this stage is power of 354 hp (260 kW) and 515 Nm (380 lb-ft). Stage 5 offers a reduction of backpressure and exhaust gas temperatures. This is made possible via bespoke downpipe, while the soundtrack is improved via sports exhaust with a sport catalytic converter. All of this brings about the ultimate result of 380 hp (280 kW) and 540 Nm (399 lb-ft)!

The power had to be underpinned, so the tuners emphasized the purposeful stance with the addition of sports spring set (35mm lowering), KW V3 coilover suspension, high performance brake system with 342 mm vented front discs, and 18-inch B9 wheels shod with 225/35ZR18 tyres.

At last, to tease you even more, the final effect of these five stages is not only horsepower upgrades. Here’s the deal: after the tuning, the standard 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds has been cut-off to just 4.5 seconds, while the 0-200 km/h sprint – from 23.6 seconds to 16.8 seconds. The top speed has been unleashed from the electronically limited 250 km/h to 285 km/h.

  • Believe it or not but this Audi RS3 can make it to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds

B&B Audi RS3 8V front viewB&B Audi RS3 8V features unique tuning, which is responsible for making it deliver up to 550 horsepower (404 kW) and 750 Newton meters (554 lb-ft) of torque. In comparison to the stock output, this is a significant gain. Precisely, the market variant of the RS3 8V generates no more than 367 hp (270 kW) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque from the 2.5 litre TFSI five-cylinder engine.

    Stages Are Important

The magic done here is due to the development of four stages of tuning. The first stage sees a remap of the fuel and ignition curves, and an increase in boost pressure of 0.2 bar. As a result, it achieves 430 hp (316 hp) and 620 Nm (458 lb-ft).

The second stage grants the Audi 450 hp (331 kW) and 655 Nm (484 lb-ft). Here have been optimized the air intake system, ignition remap, and a boost pressure, thus increasing of around 0.25 bar over stock.

    B&B Audi RS3 8V engine

The Stage 3 delivers 485 hp (357 kW) and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft), and encompasses the Stage 2 air intake mods to which are added an in-house high-performance intercooler and a free flow sports exhaust system.

At last, to bring about the final goal, the tuning studio had to extract 550 hp and 750 Nm with their Stage 4 conversion. Here, the B&B engineers substituted the factory turbocharger with a larger bespoke unit; added race exhaust system with free flow metal catalysts, along with a high-pressure fuel pump, and an uprated oil cooler system. At last, they optimized the forced air induction and the ECU.

    And Everything Else…

Additional goodies, which result in power increase of over 15 hp (11 kW) are the bespoke downpipe and sports catalyst. In order to make the soundtrack better, B&B added sports exhaust with high-flow catalyst. Furthermore, the in-house-made sport spring set lowers the ride height of the RS3 with 30 mm and 20 mm, at the front and rear, respectively. This is aided by the KW V3 fully adjustable coilover suspension.

    B&B Audi RS3 8V rear view

The braking power is ensured by the high-performance brake system, which features 396 mm vented discs used on the front axle and sitting behind the factory 19-inch Audi RS3 wheels. However, the wheel arches look better if one added B&B’s B10 style alloys sized at 20-inches and fitted with 235/30ZR20 tyres.

    It Is All About Numbers

After all of these modifications, the B&B Audi RS3 8V could eventually sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, which is significantly faster than the standard 4.3 seconds. The 0-200 km/h time is dramatically slashed from 16.1 sec to just 11.8 sec. At last, the ECU remap done here also converted the fabric 250 km/h top speed to the optional 280 km/h, and when the limiter is removed, the B&B Stage 4 RS3 can go over 300 km/h.

  • Barracuda Racing Audi RS3 8P “Shoxx” with exclusivity and style

Barracuda Racing Audi RS3 side viewBarracuda Racing is not usually in our news very often, but when it does it comes out with some special tuning, which demands attention. The here presented Audi RS3 is being under the spotlight today, with a minimally invasive tuning but still looking good as hell. This project won’t satisfy the taste of many, but will please those who love class and style expressed with a lot of attention to the detail and minimum invasion. So, here is what has happened to the RS3.

First bringing the attention are the new double-five spoke alloy wheels from Barracuda Racing The wheels feature an individuality that eschews mainstream designs. They are called Shoxx and come in 9.0×19-inches. Colored in an attractive ‘Bronze’ Finish, they were eventually coupled with 235/35R19 tyres.

Barracuda Racing Audi RS3 rear view

The benefits from the addition of this suspension upgrade, is that it features independently adjustable bounce and rebound damper control, and the ability to lower RS3’s ride height by 40 and 35 mm at the front and rear respectively.

There has been nothing additionally done here, despite the fact that many of you have probably wished to see an engine conversion. Still, the Audi RS3 is capable of boasting 367 hp (270 kW) and 465 Nm (434 lb-ft) of torque from its multiple award winning 2.5 litre TFSI five-cylinder engine. This means that it can effortlessly cover the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.3 seconds, and the 0-200 km/h time in 16.1 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h.

  • Have you heard about the Audi R8 V10 plus selection 24h? It is the perfect version of the most powerful Audi

2016 Audi R8 V10 plus selection 24h front viewIt is exactly one year since the Audi R8 LMS has made the memorable victory on its race debut at the Nurburgring 24 Hours. To commemorate this significant event, Audi is making a great tribute to the GT3 model with the release of a special edition road-legal variant. The car is so exclusive, that it will be produced in only 24 variants.

    Impressive Exterior

Why you should be impressed by the release of this car? First, it offers competition-inspired styling enhancements: a tri-color exterior, which closely resembles its GT3 LMS. The multi-material Audi Space Frame body with its aluminium content and carbon fibre elements is finished in the victorious colors Suzuka grey, Mythos black and Misano red.

Secondly, it features exceptional specification options like the Audi magnetic ride adaptive damping, a sport exhaust for further amplification and laser lighting. Third, besides the lightweight aluminum structure, there is a lot of carbon fiber involved here, which also contributes for the reduction of mass. Precisely, from the gloss-finished lightweight material are made the following components: front spoiler, exterior mirror housings, engine compartment cover, rear wing and diffuser as well as the sideblades. The sideblades feature the ‘R8 24h’ logo in a matt finish.

The last thing about the styling of this unique is the sport exhaust system and its tailpipes, which feature black trims; as well as the 20-inch forged aluminium wheels in 10-spoke Y design in gloss anthracite black.

    Interior to Envy

Next on the list is the exclusive interior, which features the driver-focused monoposto, full-leather upholstery and trim in rotor grey, with an Alcantara headlining. The inlays for the surround of the Audi virtual cockpit and the air vents are made from gloss-finish carbon, and they bear the matt-finish “R8 24h” logo. The illuminated door sill trims made of the same material display the serial numbers 1 to 24 for each of the limited-edition cars. Here, an exclusive feature is the entry lights on the doors. They project the Audi R8 logo onto the road surface.

    Powerful Motorsport DNA

Since the selection 24h edition is based on the Audi R8 V10 plus, this means that it shares the exceptional 610PS output as well as the capability of speeding up to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 205mph. Furthermore, the technical pack of this edition comprises of a dynamic steering, an adaptive damper control system, Audi magnetic ride and Audi laser lighting.

So, isn’t this the perfect car to show-off with? What’s your opinion?
