Chromium wrapping is expected to be one of the most important trends that are happening at the moment. For this reason the wrapping experts at FolienCenter-NRW have given a new skin to this Audi TT RS in exceptional “chromium red” prototype wrap of Hexis.
Thanks to this, the Audi becomes an absolute attention “grabber”. Furthermore, the red chrome gives the perfect contrast to the elements in matt silver, such as the exterior mirror which is in factory-chosen matt silver, as well as the high-gloss consolidated Audi RS6 rims.
To be more precise, the 9×20 inches rims are covered all round with Hankook S1 Evo tires of 225/30R20. In addition, Bilstein B16 coil-over suspension is responsible for the opulent lowering.
What is more, the unit under the hood has been also reworked with the help of LOBA motorsports components: LO500P turbo charger, charge air inter-cooler, fuel pump; and the better high-performance ignition plugs and a final software optimization by FTS Fahrzeugtechnik.
The result is that the five-cylinder TFSI engine generates now exactly 501 horsepower (368 kW) from its 2.5 liter cubic capacity and maltreats the Sachs-Performance clutch with a maximum torque of 563 Newton meters (415 lb-ft).
That is not all! This Audi has a deep voice to show thanks to the Milltek exhaust system following up on the HJS racing catalytic converters. It has the ability to cover the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds on its way to the top speed of 320 km/h.
Audi TT Coupé and Roadster Black Edition models are now going to be available with exceptional and exclusive Amplified Black package. This specification will undoubtedly give both Audi models sportier and more aggressive on-road presence.
This is due to the choice of four striking paint finishes, including the bold Samoa Orange. On the other hand the dark and brooding look of the Audi TT Black Edition is made even more purposeful by the Amplified Black package because of its black-finished front lip spoiler, black door mirror housings, black TT RS-style fixed rear spoiler and black 19-inch ‘Rotor’ design alloy wheels.
In addition, at the rear of the car one can find a black diffuser insert and black exhaust tailpipes. The exterior styling enhancements continue with four metallic or pearl effect colours Glacier White, Misano Red, Daytona Grey or Samoa Orange.
If the latter option is chosen then the interior inlays are also finished in this most striking of TT paint options. In all other cases, inlays are in matt brushed aluminium.
The Black Edition specification is based on the top S line trim level. It features black trimming for the radiator grille surround and number plate holder, tinted rear privacy glass, xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, black leather and Alcantara upholstery, a premium BOSE surround sound system, iPod and mobile phone connection and rear acoustic parking.
What is more, here two engines are available: 2.0-litre TFSI petrol with 211 (155 kW) matched with either a front-wheel-drive or quattro all-wheel-drive, and the 2.0-litre TDI with 170 hp (125 kW) mated to quattro drive only.
D2Forged Audi TT-S XL3 is another example of how a unique challenge can be conquered. The specialist from D2Forged Wheels had this custom wheel order where they had to bring out the true spirit of the popular Audi model.
The TT-S comes equipped with a powerful 2.0 liter TFSI engine, which helps the vehicle to generate 200 kW (272 hp). This catapults the Coupe with S tronic dual-clutch transmission from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 5.2 seconds and on up to a governed top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph). The maximum torque here is of 350 Nm (258.15 lb-ft) and it is constantly on tap from 2,500 up to 5,000 rpm.
The huge calipers, high offset, the complex AWD system and dual clutch transmission of this Audi model fit perfectly to the stance and improved dynamic performance, which D2Forged Wheels have additionally given it.
The first challenge here was to match the caliper size and high offset. Here the perfect choice was to give the car a XL Series of D2Forged Wheels as they provide a 1.0″ deeper lip compared to the classic FMS Series profile and also yields increased caliper clearance.
A staggered outer lip and more aggressive stance were achieved via wider rear tires on the AWD system. Final details are: 19×9.0″ – 2.0″ for the front lip and 19×9.0″ – 3.0″ for the rear lip.
Prior-Design Audi TT 8J is one of the latest transformations from the talented tuners from Prior-Design. What they have done here is to enhance this astonishing Audi model with new Aerodynamic-kit and thus making it lighter, faster and more appealing to all those who are keen on unforgettable driving experiences.
To be more precise the complete aerodynamic package for TT 8J is made from DURA-FLEX. This is a high quality material, characterized by excellent surface structure. In addition it delivers sufficient flexibility and stability. Furthermore, it makes the aerodynamic parts easy paintable.
For the package to fit perfectly, the original series front grill must be adapted to the bumper. To go even further into details, the Aerodynamic-kit comprises of: Prior-Design Audi TT 8J front bumper, Prior-Design Audi TT 8J rear bumper, Prior-Design Audi TT 8J side skirts bumper, mounting material and included TÜV parts certificate.
The new TT RS has a true racing pedigree just like the legendary 90 Quattro model. The German manufacturer claims that there is a connection between the 5-cylinder Quattro and the hot new TT RS.
Both cars put the power on the road through Quattro AWD and have 5-cylidner turbocharged engine. However, Audi 90 Quattro in its race version had around 600 horsepower, which is almost double than the 360HP in the 2.5-liter of the TT RS.
Also the rally car was just 1 090kg (2403 lbs) meaning a stunning power-to-weight ratio. The performance is incredible. 0 -100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and the top speed depended on the selection of gears. Some of the car had a special power-shift gearbox, which resembles the double-clutch technology.
The TT RS is also very fast to 100 km/h – only 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – electronically limited.
Your regular Audi TT can now be one step closer to the gods (the gods being the TTS and the TT RS) with the special edition Audi TT Coupe S line competition. Quite a mouthful but it might just be what makes the difference between mediocrity and exclusivity.
On the outside, a TT S line can be recognized by it’s distinctive bumpers and air inlets and side sills. There are also S line badges, specially designed tailpipes and a rear diffuser. Even more downforce can be generated by the RS-style fixed rear wing. The colors in which the TT S line comes sound rather sophisticated and pompous – Samoa Orange, Glacier White and Misano Red (the one here) just to name a few. As a contrast high-gloss black frames the front grille while matte black is used for the license plate, the radiator grille. Again high-gloss black adorns the mirror caps, the blade bellow the front bumper, the diffuser insert, the tailpipe trims and the rear wing spoiler. And the 5-spoked, 19-inch wheels are, you guessed it, also black. The whole stance is lowered by 10 mm so the 255/35 tires look even more impressive.
Inside, you get special door sill trims, an extended aluminum look trim, a leather package (there’s Alcantra involved as well, sports seats and a short traveling gear lever for the manual version. Even the steering wheel has an RS feel to it with it’s flat bottom and it’s leathery trim.
The Audi TT Coupe S line competition special edition is now available on the global market and one has the freedom to throw in any other options and trim lines at free will. The S line package is priced at 4,300 Euros ($5,422) and is applicable to all the models until the 211 bhp TT.
Just when you think an Audi TT RS can’t get any better, a ‘plus‘ edition turns up and bends your perception of what is good and what is really good. When we say really good, we mean blisteringly fast, outstandingly fun and unmatched in terms of performance. Whichever ‘plus‘ you might choose, the Coupe or the Roadster, you can’t go wrong.
The standard 2.5 TFSI 5-line engine found in the RS is already powerful enough but the ‘plus’ sees a further power boost from 340 hp to 360 hp. Now an even more colossal torque figure of 465 Nm (342.97 lb-ft)passes trough the gearbox which can be an seven-speed S tronic or a six-speed manual. The S tronic is naturally a dual-clutch transmission and has its own launch control for that lightning performance from the starting line. All models come with the flawless quattro system that sends power to all four wheels.
Performance figures are a little bit in favor of the S tronic transmission coupled with a Coupe: a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time for the Coupe S tronic is 4.1 seconds with 4.3 seconds for the manual. The Roadster performs a tenth of a second slower in both configurations (4.2 with S tronic and 4.4 with a manual). The speed limiter for both cars kicks in at280 km/h (173.98 mph). All of that stacks up pretty well against the economy figures which allow the RS to be driven on an everyday basis –8.5 liters of fuel per 100 km (27.67 mpg)if you go with the S tronic.
That fuel frugality, as well as the agile acceleration, is partly due to the diet on which the RS had been put. (They should have called it the ‘minus’). The Coupé with manual transmission, including quattro drive, weighs just 1,450 kilograms (3,196.70 lb). Other factors which might help the track performance include the four-piston calipers of the big ventilated front brake disks, the large fixed rear wing and the optional electro-magnetic damping suspension that has been a trademark the TT line for ages. The car itself sits on four 19-inch cast wheels (black with red lining on the rim) which are wrapped in wide 255/35 tires.
A striking feature that may give the car away as a ‘plus‘ version is the front grille – it’s a mesh of diamond-patterned design framed in what look like aluminum. Apart from that, there are the wing mirrors which are made from a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and the exhaust system which is distinguishable with its black oval tailpipe trims. A sound flap on the pipes, which enhances the roar from the engine is the car’s party piece.
In Germany, the ‘plus’ versions are priced as follows:
German auto-design and tuning house RIEGER is preparing for its 25th anniversary next year so we decided it is worth gaining a bit of insight on their works.
In the beginning it was only a man named Tony Rieger and his garage. 25 years later Rieger Tuning is a corporation with more than 40 employees. It’s main focus is production of body accessories and aerodynamic parts for cars from the European market.
And now they have an abundant array of body parts for your Audi TT S-line. The front spoiler comes with two black honeycomb mesh air-intakes and an air splitter which can either be shipped in ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) or in a specially ordered carbon fibre look (but not really in carbon fibre). In fact almost all the other parts of the body kit have this carbon look option. The side skirts look very sporty with an air duct at their back end. The same goes for the rear valance which looks like an extension to the side skirts because of the similar ducts at it’s ends. As we move on to the rear bumper, which by the way can house park distance control sensors upon order, we can notice another two distinctive vents.
Rieger Audi TT 8J (2011)
Trunk and rooftop spoilers can be added for a sportier look and it goes without saying that low profile tires wrapped around 20 inch rims can only enhance the appeal. The cherry on top is the vertical lift door conversion kit but it will set you back with $ 2666.
Everything is all very cosmetic but the end result does stir up the little boy inside each and every one of us. So one can easily be tempted to review their price list (It is revised to celebrate the anniversary!)
Audi now offers the new Audi TT Coupe 1.8 TFSI model generously equipped to either Sport or S line specification, and available with either 6-speed manual or 7-speed S tronic transmissions.
The 1.8 litre turbocharged petrol engine delivers 160PS (118 kW) at 4500RPM and 250Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque at just 1500RPM. 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds with the manual gearbox and 7.1 seconds with the S-tronic transmission. The top speed is 225 km/h (140 mph). The fuel consumption is superb – 44.1 mpg on combined cycle.
The extensive equipment list already offered by Sport models, and further embellished in S line versions, is carried over unchanged to the new 1.8 TFSI. For Sport models it includes 17” alloy wheels, electronic climate control, leather and Alcantara combination upholstery and a Concert audio system with single CD player and MP3/iPod connectivity.
S line versions upgrade with features including 18” alloy wheels, lowered S line sports suspension, a short-shift gearbox for manual versions, S line exterior and interior detailing and xenon headlights with LED daytime running lamps.
The top-of-range Black Edition specification takes S line as its basis and is available exclusively for 2.0-litre TFSI and TDI versions. It adds 19” alloy wheels, a black styling treatment for the single frame grille surround and number plate holder, dark tinted rear privacy glass for Coupe models, acoustic rear parking sensors for Roadsters, a Bluetooth phone interface and an upgraded Symphony audio system linked to a BOSE premium sound system.
Audi US priced the 2012 TT RS at 56 850 -excluding destination charges, taxes, title, options and dealer charges.
It is powered by a 2.5 liter turbocharged five-cylinder TFSI engine with 360PS (265 kW) and 465Nm (343 lb-ft) between 1 650 and 5 400RPM. The engine comes with forged six-bearing crankshaft, weight optimized connection rods, sodium cooled exhaust valves and lightweight pistons with specifically adapted ring assembly.
The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and quattro all-wheel drive as standard. 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) takes just 4.1 seconds, so the 2012 TT-RS is the fastest in its class.
The suspension features magnetic ride, which constantly adapts to the current driving situation. A sport mode stiffens the magnetic ride, enhances throttle responsiveness, and activates a more striking engine sound via flaps in the exhaust system.
The aluminum and steel hybrid ASF® technology also found on the TT and TTS models, reduces weight while helping increase rigidity and safety. The total weight of the car is 1500 kg (3 306 lb) .

As you know what you driving is a result of serious R&D, drafts and arguments. For many reasons your car was(is) available in the showroom. However there are many examples of cars that did not manage to go further than the draft or clay. Here are the best looking 6 concepts that never reached the market.
This beauty was introduced in 2007 in North America. It was quite up to date with the current tendencies, so speed and power were not the only thing the car was focusing on. Safety and ecology have definitely been taken into consideration. That’s why the idea of the car is to have a hybrid powertrain. Despite this the car would still remain light and a great fun to drive. Being a fast RWD car it takes Toyota back to the golden years of the AE86 Corolla and would definitely be a total hit both for teenagers and grown-up boys that once dreamed of having AE86 Corolla.
Number 5
Nissan Intima
Nissan’s luxurious sedan concept was seen for the first time in 2007. Two things came into sight right away. First of all the rear doors were to be opened towards the back of the car instead of the conventional opening – parallel to the front door. Also the windshield would go all the way to the back of the roof creating incredible atmosphere for the passengers. Surprisingly for Nissan, the Intima is constructed to have an efficient, environmental friendly 6 cylinder diesel engine. Last but not least , the Intima is equipped with a 4-zone air conditioning system that would make sure all of the passengers feel comfortable.
In the beginning of 2007 Honda showed this coupe in Detroit and this was for a reason – Accord is the best-selling Honda in USA. The accent when presenting the car was the fuel economy and safety features. In terms of design, the Accord coupe looks aggressive due to the long hood and the headlamps that go deep behind to reach almost the middle of the fenders. The four exhaust pipes in the back promise to also touch the heart of the driver giving out the 6 cylinder engine at the touch of the throttle.
This Gran Turismo masterpiece was first to be seen in Shanghai and it did look stunning. A 4-door coupe with sleek curves and very low profile. Definitely something Mercedes need to be careful with when developing the CSL. Looking at the car you almost feel Bangle’s shade in it. The return to the “shark shape” is obvious, magical and… I love it! Is this going to be the positioned above the 7th series and benefit from the 6.0 V12.
Number 2
Mazda Nagare
This car definitely deserves its place here. It is undoubtedly something unique that cannot be seen every day. The name of the car means “Flow” and indeed even when standing still it looks like it’s moving. The “doors” are a flashback to the Mercedes Gull-wing – they open not sideways but from the roof and give an overview to the whole interior. The Recaro seats and the plane-like steering wheel finish the sporty feeling of the car. Despite the fact no details have been disclosed about engine or specifications, the Nagare is expected to use a rotary engine well known for it’s high revs and great response.
Number 1
Audi RSQ concept
This car has been designed and created especially for the movie “I robot”, where Will Smith would use it to fight some “evil machines”. Indeed, it shares a lot with the TT, but it is so much different at the same time. The door are hinging back to open up like the wings of a butterfly. It is also mid-engined which is great prerequisite for it to be a pleasure to drive. Now the sweetest part – as this was Audi’s vision for the future, it definitely needed something indeed futuristic, and there it was, the wheels are… spheres and as you can figure, the side panels are shaped accordingly to make the car more and more resemble a sculpture. The interior of the car is really close to a plane cockpit. The steering wheel, the instrument cluster, all this aluminium and a windshield to go over the driver’s head create intoxicating atmosphere once you sit in the bucket seat. How likely is this car to show on the streets? Not really huge it seems. However a lot of it could be used for the Audi TT.
