  • Audi TT Clubsport Debuts at Wörthersee

Audi has just released a video showing more of its Wörthersee concept – the TT clubsport turbo. Next to it, the company will also display some of the latest race cars, performance and production models. However, the highlight for Audi at this event is the TT clubsport turbo, which is a technical concept that combines a powerful TFSI engine with an electric biturbo.

As we told you earlier this week, the concept features wide add-on parts, rear wing and the capability of pushing out more than 600 horses, which equals to 441 kW. In addition, the car has been inspired by 80s show car, the 90 IMSA GTO.

SEE ALSO: Audi is About to Show Its Latest Concept Sports Vehicle

At the heart of this Audi TT is the 2.5 TFSI engine, producing 600 hp and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. In fact, more than 600 Nm of torque are available between 3,000 and 7,000 rpm. The power is transferred onto the road via a manual six-speed transmission.

    2015-Audi-TT-Concept-Interiro

When this power is combined with lightweight design (the car weighs only 1,396 kg), the result is simply marvelous: it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.6 seconds on its way to a top speed of 310 km/h.

Now take in mind all of the aforementioned data and mix it with the advantage of an electrically driven compressor. The result is that the car will cover 16 meters (52.5 ft) within the first 2.5 seconds. In comparison, without this addition the number will be minus six meters (19.7 ft).

Other data that should be said about this concept is that it rides on 20-inch alloys with six twin-spoke design in a two-color gloss turned finish and matt black look. The will be coupled with 275/30 tires, behind which we see carbon-fiber ceramic brake disks, measuring 370 mm (14.6 in) in diameter.

We did a lot of talking about this car and if you want to remind yourself some important details about it you can go back to the previously released article.

  • Audi TT Roadster to be Manufactured at Audi Hungaria

Audi TT Roadster is the fourth Audi model after the A3 sedan, A3 Cabriolet and Audi TT Coupe which will go into series production at the new automobile factory in Győr. Audi CEO Rupert Stadler pointed out that Győr plays a significant role in the development of Audi’s global production network. The automobile production in the Hungarian city has been operating since June 2013 and it adds up to the already existing engine production there.

The compact two-seater Audi establishes an innovative benchmark in the sense that it comes with original design, improved powertrain, better suspension and useful technologies. For instance, the new Audi comes with a virtual cockpit which underscores the design of the car. This digital display combination replaces physical instruments and gathers all the relevant information in the driver’s field of vision. The TT Roadster has already been praised for this original display and operating system with the Car Connectivity Award and, also, the prize for Interior Innovation of the Year in the Automotive Interiors Expo Awards. In addition, TT Roadsters are powered by either a 2 liter TDI delivering 184 HP, 280.3 lb-ft (379 Nm) or 2.0 TFSI rated which produces 230 HP. The car has a combined fuel consumption of just 4.3 to 7.5 liters/100 km (54.7 US mpg) which reaches CO2 emissions from 114 to 174 gr per km.

Audi Hungaria was the first branch planted outside of Germany about 21 years ago. Its commencing marked the company’s further development in a worldwide aspect and helped for the development of Audi’s international influence and presence. So far the successful background and results prove that this decision could not have turned out any better.

  • Audi Sport TT Cup Races to be Launched from 2015

Audi-Sport-TT-Cup-THUMBAudi Sport TT Cup is entering the motorsport world. The new car will be included as part of the DTM starting in the 2015 season, which means that next to the Audi R8 LMS Cup, Audi is also launching another one-make cup in Germany next year. The vehicle is the racing version of the new Audi TT which has a kerb weight of only 1,125 kilograms. It produces 310 horsepower (228 kW) and via the push-to-pass function the output of the two-liter TFSI engine can be boosted by 30 hp (22 kW).

Audi TT is an iconic model which is a pure example of powerful sportiness and emotional design. Currently, the production model is in its third generation version. It was a logical consequence that Audi has released a motorsport version of the model.

As mentioned, the car will take part in the 2015 season in the DTM events. quattro GmbH will prepare and field the 24 cars. There will be six cockpits that will be reserved for changing guest drivers. For the other 18 places, interested drivers from around the globe can apply online.

The selection process will take place in close cooperation with the Audi driving experience. Markus Winkelhock who has already tested the car at the Nürburgring will be also available to coach the participants of the Audi Sport TT Cup as an experienced professional race driver.

The low weight of the car is due to the utilization of material mix of steel and aluminum, which provides an ideal base for a race car. In addition, the four-cylinder TFSI and the six-speed S tronic which were adopted from the production model, have been left almost unchanged. The electronically variable from the cockpit active differential ensures optimal traction at the front axle.

  • Audi TT Sportback Concept Revealed at Paris Motor Show

Audi-TT-Sportback-concept-THUMBAudi TT Sportback concept is inspired by the five-door A5 and A7 Sportback models. The concept vehicle is currently making a debut at the Paris Motor Show. It is characterized by the additional 29 centimetres of the length of the ‘standard’ TT in order to incorporate extra rear doors. Its 2.0 TFSI engine also enhances the engine output range in the production coupe, delivering the blistering 400 horsepower (294 kW).

The engine is coupled with a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission, helping to peg the 0 to 62mph sprint time at just 3.9 seconds. This car also features quattro permanent all‑wheel drive system, sophisticated suspension and the low centre of gravity as well as lightweight aluminium components. In addition, a laser spot that complements the LED high beam is featured in each of the headlights.

The five-door TT Sportback concept measures 4.47 metres in length, 1.89 metres in width, and 1.38 metres in height. It is built around a wheelbase of 2.63 metres. When compared with the new production TT, it is not 29 centimetres longer, but also 6 centimetres wider, 3 centimetres lower and its wheelbase is 12 centimetre longer.

The interior is underlined by slimline applications on the dashboard and doors, as well as a long centre console and the super sport seats with the integrated head restraints. There is also space for two people in the rear in individual seats with integrated head restraints.

The Audi virtual cockpit, the digital instrument cluster, replaces the conventional physical displays and the central MMI monitor. 12.3‑inch touch screen allows the driver view graphics of high levels of clarity.

As mentioned, this concept car is powered by the 2.0 TFSI engine. It produces 400 hp (294 kW) at 6,400 rpm, with a specific output of 200 hp per litre of displacement. Despite this number, the car also returns good fuel efficiency rated at 40.3mpg. This equates to CO2 emissions of 162 grams per kilometre.

The turbocharged direct-injection engine is responsible for the 3.9 acceleration time of the car for the sprint from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph). The powerplant is coupled with a compact seven-speed S tronic transmission, featuring three-shaft layout. The driver can let the dual-clutch transmission operate in two automatic programs or take control using the paddles on the steering wheel.

The suspension of this concept is based on a McPherson system. The aluminium components minimize the weight of the unsprung chassis masses, while the four-link rear suspension can process the longitudinal and transverse forces separately. The car runs on 21-inch wheels fitted with tyres in the format of 255/30. The four brake discs in 18‑inch format include a weight-saving wave design. Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) adds is what rounds-out the chassis.

  • Sporty Audi TT Roadster and Audi TTS Roadster

    2014-Audi-TT-and-TTS-Roadster-t2014-Audi-TT-and-TTS-Roadster-651

Right on schedule for the Paris Motor Show, Audi has finished its work on the all new TT and TDS models. Both variants look very sporty and compact, though the changes to the power train options and design are almost non-existent, their design is noticeable sportier than the outgoing model, especially on S line models. All TT Roadsters now get new standard symmetrical dual-exhaust tips that differentiate them from the less sporty models.

The front end looks more aggressive, thanks to an enlarged grille, sharp headlights and unique design. Of course, all of these features are identical to the TT Coupe. The obvious change between the MK3 Coupe, which has just started being assembled a month ago, and its new rack top brother, they lack only roof. Audi has engineered a new convertible top that weighs three kilograms (8.6 lbs) lighter than before, using more magnesium, aluminum and plastic.Unlike many modern convertibles that require you to be stationary, the TT Roadster can open and close the top as little as 10 seconds at speeds about 50 km/h (31 mph).

Just like on older models, the passenger compartment has lost its relatively pointless rear seats. The upside is like that, because the top folds over the space they would normally take up. Cargo space is 250 liters.  However, Audi has recently introduced A3 Cabriolet mode, based on the same platform as the TT and offering full seating for four people.

The benefits of using MQB architecture are immediately obvious when you look at the weight. The TT 2.0 TFSI roadster now tips the scales at 1320 kg (2910 lbs), compared to the 1358 kg (2993 lbs)  of the older model.

    2014-Audi-TT-and-TTS-Roadster-651-(2)

With outstanding, Impressive performance and efficiency, the new TT Roadster is the smallest, lightest convertible Audi makes. With no surpise, this has a huge impact on both performance and fuel consumption. Engine choices have remained identical to the TT Coupe. Regular TT Roadsters are offered with either a 2 liter TDI delivering 184 PS, 280.3 lb-ft (379 Nm) or 2.0 TFSI rated at 230 PS. The new diesel option belongs to the new ultra family of low fuel consumption of just 4.3 liters/100 km  (54.7 US mpg) which reaches CO2 emissions of 114 gr per km.

The downside is that you can get it with a manual and front-wheel drive right now. The TFSI is basically the same engine you get on the Gulf “GB I”, but with the difference, Audi allows you to have it with optional Quattro all-wheel drive. There are no performance numbers for those engines yet, but the flagship TDS Roadster packing 310 PS need only 4.9 second to reach from 0 to 100 km/h (0 – 62 mph).

Prices for the TT Roadster will start at 37,900 euros for a 2.0 TSI with forward and manual, only a few hundred euros more if you want a diesel model. However full details wont be available until the start of 2015.

  • 2015 Audi TT Gets A-Grade Evaluation

2015 Audi TT has received A-grade evaluation. The new model benefits from emissions reduction of 11 per cent compared with its predecessor, while the increase of power is also substantial, namely – up to 14 per cent. In this way, Audi has made significant step in minimizing the whole-life impact on the environment. The increase in power output and the simultaneous decrease in greenhouse gas emissions contribute towards new life cycle assessment.

Basically, each car of the third-generation TT saves around 5.5 tonnes of greenhouse gases over its entire life cycle. And we are not speaking only of carbon dioxide, but also of other substances such as methane, nitrous oxide and halogenated organic emissions.

Many technologies have contributed for this positive change. This first one is the lightweight construction of the car. Thanks to specific combination of materials, Audi engineers have, for the second time in a row, succeeded in reducing the TT’s weight.

Back in 2006, the engineers managed to achieve up to 90 kilograms weight savings. Now, the front-wheel driven 2.0 TFSI Audi TT, weighs just 1,230 kilograms and this means that the car is around 50 kilograms lighter than its predecessor.

The intelligent lightweight construction and the weight reduction of the 2015 TT also have an impact on the vehicle manufacturing process. Precisely, the saved greenhouse gas emissions in this step are around nine per cent. Audi also states that the new generation car offers a better life cycle assessment right from the very first mile.
