  • Power, Beauty and Soul: 2014 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S

2014-Aston-Martin-V12-Vantage-S-THUMB2014 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S has made its debut today and it is going to take the place of the outgoing V12 Vantage in the world-wide markets, except for the One-77 Hypercar. In fact, this model is the fastest road-going Aston Martin ever produced.

V12 Vantage S comes equipped with the new AM28 6.0-litre V12 engine. Thanks to it this Aston Martin model is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 205 mph. With it it generates 573 horsepower (421 kW) and 620 Nm available at 5,750 rpm.

In addition, the model is equipped with race car technology, for example there is the CNC machined combustion chambers and hollow cam shafts. Another instance is the new gearbox – the Sportshift™ III AMT (automated manual transmission) which is a development of the automated manual gearbox seen in the current V8 Vantage S.

Furthermore, in the car debuts the three-stage adaptive damping, which allows the driver to more precisely tailor the car’s dynamic character. It offers ‘Normal’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Track’ modes that are made to better suit the driver’s requirements.

Other new highlights here are the exhaust system that has been “taken” from the One-77 Hypercar and the ZF Servotronic power assisted steering. The latter delivers quicker 15:1 ratio and is linked to the adaptive damping button.

I terms of exterior, the car stands put with its exclusivity and aggressive presence. The first elemnet that grabs the attention is the grille which includes a carbon fibre arrangement of the famous aluminium vanes. The new grille is designed to optimize the airflow to the V12 engine, and it is inspired by the CC100 Speedster Concept.

In this car also a debut make the new lightweight forged alloy ten-spoke wheels and the exterior graphics pack that features black painted roof and part-painted boot panel. What are kept in this model are the proportions and the masculine stance.

Next, the interior of the vehicle also reflects the sporty nature of the model. It includes new-style seating with Sport and carbon fibre Lightweight seat options, revised stitching and welt detailing, two leather grade options – Luxmill and semi-aniline – plus the possibility to include Alcantara. Furthermore, there is an optional Carbon Fibre Interior Pack that that adds carbon to V12 Vantage S facia and door pulls.

  • Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept Unveiled [VIDEO]

Aston-Martin-CC100-Speedster-Concept-THUMBIn order to celebrate its centenary Aston Martin is unveiling the exceptional Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept. The model looks both to the past and the future. Back in the days the DBR1 was brand’s greatest sporting triumph on the track. Of course, the future is “teased” by the glimpses of potential future design direction.

The concept is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine. It competed yesterday at the famous Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring race, driven by Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez. In fact the speedster represents company’s fantastic sporting heritage, exceptional design capability, superb engineering know-how and adventurous spirit.

But this car is even more – it shows that the soul of Aston Martin, ad this is what differentiates Aston Martin from all the other car makers in the world. CC100 Speedster Concept was designed and constructed in fewer than six months. The aim was to create something that reflects the 100 years of brand’s heritage and to signal the future of the British company.

To be more precise, the car measures almost four and a half metres nose to tail, and more than two metres wide. This makes the Speedster Concept body a classic example of the almost infinitely flexible nature of Aston Martin’s trademark Vertical Horizontal engineering philosophy.

Of course, new materials were utilized throughout the construction of the body and the interior – carbon fibre can be seen prominently. In addition, the CC100 uses the latest generation AM11 naturally aspirated V12 gasoline engine that is matched with a six-speed hydraulically actuated automated sequential manual transmission.

It is controlled via steering column-mounted paddle shifts thus delivering the needed sporting changes. This makes it possible for the concept to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in little more than four seconds on its way to a top speed of 180 mph.

  • Aston Martin Enters 24 Hours of Nurburgring With Three Race Cars

Aston-Martin-Hybrid-Hydrogen-Rapide-S-THUMBThe ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring is going to happen this weekend, where the British automotive icon Aston Martin is going to participate with three different race cars. The first one to enter is the international championship-winning V12 Vantage GT3, the second one – Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S and the last – the close-to-production specification V12 Vantage.

At the N24 the brand is going to celebrate its anniversary by entering a front-running GT3 car crewed by top professional drivers, a world-first engineering technology project and a near-standard V12 Vantage. In addition, a stunning 100-car parade of Aston Martins will entertain the public through around the length of the legendary 22km-long circuit.

To go further into details, the unique Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S was announced a month ago The car is based on Aston Martin’s new four-door, four-seat sports GT. In fact, the model that is going to compete in the Nürburgring is the first Hybrid Hydrogen-powered car to enter in an international racing event.

The model was created with the help of the hydrogen experts at Alset Global. The specialists at both brands have equipped the prototype with twin turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 engine. In addition, this Aston Martin vehicle is able to run on pure gasoline, pure gaseous hydrogen, or a blend of both. Aston-Martin V12 Vantage is the third car that is going to enter the race. • Aston Martin Rapide S Hybrid Hydrogen To Compete At Nurburgring

Aston-Martin-Rapide-S-Hybrid-Hydrogen-THUMBAston Martin Rapide S Hybrid Hydrogen Race Car is going to compete at the 41st ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring next month. This is the first hybrid hydrogen car created by the British brand, which is based on the Rapide S four-door, four-seat sports car.

This means that this hybrid is going to be not only the first hydrogen-powered car to compete in an international event but also the first zero CO2 emissions sports car to complete a race pace lap at the Nürburgring 24-hour race.

The model was created with the help of the hydrogen experts at Alset Global. The specialists at both brands have developed a prototype twin turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 engine that will power the race car.

Furthermore, this Aston Martin vehicle is able to run on pure gasoline, pure gaseous hydrogen, or a blend of both. For instance, when in pure hydrogen mode the car delivers zero emissions while emitting only water from its exhaust.

In addition, this Hybrid Hydrogen system consists of a hydrogen fuel rail, storage tanks and proprietary engine management system. The result is flexibility in the control of the combustion process: either pure hydrogen, gasoline or both can be chosen in order to generate maximum power, acceleration and CO2 reduction.

Safety was also considered a major component in this project. The system features four ultra-high strength carbon fibre tanks holding a total of 3.5 kg of hydrogen stored at a pressure of 350 bar. The two tanks are positioned next to the driver and two – in the boot of the car.

Showing a great capability of enhanced performance, the unit under the hood of the Aston Martin Rapide S Hybrid Hydrogen has a top speed of 190 mph and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
