Alfa-Romeo-Zagato-Roadster-by-Vilner-THUMBAlmost a month ago we have seen an upcoming project heading our virtual pages. The exceptional Bulgarian tuning specialists from Vilner has just disclosed their unique restoration work on the emblematic and legendary Alfa Romeo Zagato Roadster.

The two-seater convertible was produced from 1992 until December 1994. More interestingly is the fact that only 350 units of it were planned for production. However, only 284 cars of the model were eventually made.

A logical conclusion is that this makes the RZ the lowest production Alfa Romeo in the automotive history. And even more, this fact makes the car a true collectible which is now searched worldwide.

The car has received a full treatment and is fully serviced, despite the difficulties that professionals at Vilner have encountered in finding the needed parts. Firstly, they have put their attention and endeavors on the chassis, exhaust system, engine. Here, the engine covers are painted in red matt, which entirely reminds of Ferrari style.

Secondly, Vilner replaced all seals which needed substitution and then created all new hood for the Zagato Roadster. In order to make the vehicle look like it has just come out of the factory, it was painted in its original red color, and in addition everything throughout the interior was renewed.

To be more precise, Vilner has resurrected the interior of the RZ by equipping it with new floor mats, door panels, dashboard, center console, two seats, steering wheel and transmission. The only element which is absolutely new to this car is the sport wheels.

In the end, the tuning company revealed that all the work done on the Alfa has led to one more new happy customer who is based in Germany. Alfa-Romeo-4C-Launch-Edition-THUMBThe launch of the Alfa Romeo 4C is already a fact. However, what also needs attention is the new lightweight sports coupe’s Launch Edition version which has just been unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. This limited edition Alfa Romeo will be produced in limited run of 400 in Europe and will incorporate exclusive characteristics.

Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition is available in two exterior color choices – Carrara White or Alfa Red. In addition, it is marked out by the distinctive badge, inlaid beneath the paintwork. What is more, this Alfa Romeo is enhanced with carbon aerodynamic kit which features spoiler and door mirror covers.

In addition, what also distinguishes this Launch Edition from the standard 4C model is the rear aluminium diffuser with dark finishing, Bi-LED headlights with dark surround and 18″ (front) and 19″ (rear) alloy wheels with burnishing treatment.

Moreover, the sporty appearance is further emphasized with the front air intakes, brake calipers in a specific colour, racing exhaust system with BMC air cleaner and suspension kit with specific calibration for shock absorbers and rear anti-roll bar.

In terms of interior, the same sporty design philosophy is applied. There are present leather/fabric sports seats with parts in Alcantara, as well as the distinctive, numbered carbon badge. On the other hand, if the livery is red, the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition has red stitching on the steering wheel trim, handbrake, mats, handles and sports seats.

At the heart of the 4C Launch edition lies the same engine as in the standard 4C. We are speaking here of the new direct-injection 240 hp (176 kW) 4-cylinder 1750 Turbo Petrol unit. The latter delivers exceptional performance without sacrificing driving fluidity and use in any circumstances, from the racetrack to the city streets. Torque delivery is generous, with a peak of 350 Nm at only 1700 rpm.

Moreover, the all-aluminium power unit incorporates the specific optimized intake and exhaust systems, to improve both response at low speeds and extension. Additional help is provided by the crankshaft with eight counterweights. What also has too be mentioned is that it boasts cutting-edge technical solutions including direct petrol injection, dual (intake and exhaust) continuous variable valve timing, a turbocharger and a scavenging control system that eliminates turbo lag.

The result is an exceptional performance thanks to the applied state-of-the-art technical and technological solutions. The Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition has a top speed of 250 km/h, and needs only 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.

  • Alfa Romeo Zagato Stradale TZ3 Set To Debut At The Amelia Island Concours d’ELEGANCE

Alfa-Romeo-Zagato-Stradale-TZ3-THUMBAlfa-Romeo Zagato Stradale TZ3 will make a debut at the 18th annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance on 10th of March. It will be the last of only nine custom built models, known as the Italian sports car with “the heart of a Viper and the soul of an ALFA”.

These nine cars were constructed in order to celebrate the centenary of Carrozzeria Zagato in 2010. And this Azzurro California hued example is the final car in the exclusive series. As a matter of fact, the model was built by Carrozzeria Zagato as a design study.

The Stradale TZ3 wears the traditional Alfa-Romeo badge of the serpent and the 1925 world grand prix champion’s wreath. Under its carbon fiber bodywork, the model hides a 8.3 liter 600 hp (441 kW) V-10 engine, known from the SRT Viper. At last, it is good to mention that this supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.5 seconds.

Another interesting fact is that Zagato calls the Stradale TZ3 “the first American ALFA in automotive history” that combines “unbridled American power and Italian grace”. The astonishing model was inspired by the motto “bellazza necessaria”, which means “beautiful necessity”. This is proven by the Kamm tail, “double bubble roof” and round taillights.

Alfa-Romeo-Gloria-IED-Concept-THUMBAlfa Romeo Gloria IED Concept is set to make an official world premiere at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show. The European Design Institute (IED) of Turin is presenting there for the first time their new concept vehicle named “Gloria”. The car was created by the Master in Transportation Design in collaboration with the Alfa Romeo Style Centre.

As one can see from the picture, this prototype exudes sports spirit and Italian style with the aim to keep the symbol of elegance and prestige so typical for the bran. Alfa Romeo Style Centre participated with passion in the various phases of the project: from the product brief to the brand’s historic collection, and from the first style proposals up to the development, in clay, of the model in 1:1 scale.

In details, the car is 4700 mm long, 1920 mm wide, 1320 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2900 mm. It is a sports saloon with decisive lines that run down the side to the rear end. What is more, under its hood there is to be found a state-of-the-art V6 or V8 biturbo engine.

What is also known about the concept is that it is going to be reproduced on the iPad in a virtual environment in Geneva. There it will be possible to interact with it, choosing between five models of rims and five body colours to try out, replacing the real ones.
