2016 Acura NSX Supercar Was Sold for Nearly Ten Times its Book Price

2016 Acura NSX The first production model of the latest Acura NSX was sold at auction in US last week for nearly ten times its book price: $1.2 million USD. The sweetheart comes with #001 VIN number personally brought by Rick Hendrick, owner of the Henrick Motorsports NASCAR team with all the money raised and donated to children’s charities of the Paediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Souther Ground.

Furthermore, the high amount of money marks the highest charity sale of a VIN #001 manufacturer vehicle in the auctioneer’s almost half a decade of history. Also, Rick Hendrick, known for his passion of first-edition performance vehicles, will add the unique NSX to his museum collection in Charlotte, North Carolina.

With starting price of $157,800 USD, the sweetie is the first built-to-order car with orders available from 25th of February, 2016 worldwide. There is also a special online platform that allows customers to take a close look at the 573-hp (421kW), twin-turbo hybrid beast.

2017 Acura NSX Makes it Official in America with Hot Super Bowl Spot!

2017 Acura NSX Super Bowl Spot First Picture Acura has finally released the NSX in America and has done this exclusively with a hot rocking Super Bowl spot! The soundtrack of an iconic Van Halen rock song infuses high-voltage energy into the NSX rollout. By the way, this is the first time the rock band is releasing “Runnin’ with the Devil” (the song you hear in the spot) for use in advertising. The spot debuted during the Super Bowl 50, and the moment we saw it, we loved it. It was then inevitable of not showing it to you!

“Runnin’ with the Devil” by Van Halen is probably the best song choice for this ad. Its high-energy vocal effects provide the powerful beat for the Acura NSX and describe it character very well. In addition, via the advertisement, the company also showcases the Precision Crafted Performance direction, which is now that is core to Acura and is vividly imbued in the NSX supercar.

The commercial is tagged with the words “What He Said,” and this is not devoid of sense, because “NSX is better described through raw emotion than words alone”. Acura Precision Concept Shows New Human-Machine Interface Approach [VIDEO]

Acura Precision Concept Front View Acura Precision Concept is something we were longing to see revealed at the North American International Auto Show. The reason for this is that it isn’t just another concept, but it is a project which points towards the bolder innovative design direction of the brand. And precisely, towards future Acura sedans. As a matter of fact, the car was developed by those two designers who played crucial role in the creation of the latest-generation Acura NSX supercar, Dave Marek (Acura global creative director) and Michelle Christensen.

The concept was developed to express the DNA of the brand: “Precision Crafted Performance.” In other words, the vehicle highlights the details and is an intersection of modern, sheer surfaces and muscular, organic sculpting. The exquisite performance of the concept is represented via its ultra-low and wide stance, long dash-to-axle ratio, deeply sculpted surfaces and at last (but not least) the brand-new Diamond Pentagon grille.

The athletic stance of the car is strengthened by its deeply sculpted side surfaces and supported by the 22-inch wheels and tires over which we see swelling rear wheel arches. The future car also includes signature lighting designs back and front. At the face we see its Jewel Constellation LED headlights composed of organically arranged fractal elements, while at the rear there is back with floating LED taillights.

Inside, there is a continuation of the approach of the design and an expression for this is “quantum continuum” theme. It is further highlighted by the absence of a b-pillar. After opening the large door rocker panel, we see an interior with surfaces with striking tones, floating rear seats, rear center high-mounted stoplight, and a lot of modern detailing.

We must pay more attention also to the double-layered instrument panel, the high-contrast front seat surfaces, and the hand-crafted audio speaker grilles made of exotic wood. And have we mentioned that the seats are race-inspired as is the steering-wheel, which features paddle shifters and Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) controls. The interior also includes a floating center meter, a driver’s head-up display, a cantilevered center stack and an ultra-wide, thin and curved center display screen.

At last, we should say a word about the Acura HMI Concept, which is company’s approach for Acura’s digital human-machine interface (HMI). It will enable more intuitive and advanced connection between man and machine. The wide and curved center screen can be operated via floating touch pad on the center stack. The HMI makes everything easier because upon entry, it scans each occupant and selects personalized features and functions, like maps, audio and performance settings.

Acura Announces Details for 2016 Precision Concept

2016 Acura Precision Concept Acura is ready to unveil the Acura Precision Concept at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 12. Crafted by the Acura Design Studio in California, Acura Precision Concept has the ambition to reshape the future of the whole Acura design ideas.

Furthermore, the brand team also announced details for the next-ten NSX supercar that is scheduled to come to market next spring. In fact, these announcements not only strengthen brand’s positions on the market, but also mark the intention for further achievements. As you might know, Acura marks positive growth in market positions in 2015, which is brand’s best since the peak back in 2007. Only through November, the brand managed to mark a growth with 6.9 per cent.

2017 Acura NSX VIN 001 to be Auctioned at Barrett-Jackson in January

2017 Acura NSX was teased today with additional details. The strongly anticipated supercar, is coming to market next spring and the starting price has been announced at $156,000 USD. When equipped with additional options and available factory feature the car will top out at $205,700 USD. Acura will also auction the very first serial production NSX, VIN 001, at the Barrett-Jackson car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. This will happen at the last week of January 2016. The proceeds are going for charity: the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground.

In addition, customers will be able to design their NSX. They can design one of eight rich exterior colors and four interior schemes available. There are also available three different seating surface options, three wheel designs with painted or polished finish, carbon-ceramic brake options, a carbon fiber interior sport package, carbon fiber roof, etc.

Ludacris Legend WOWs at #2015SEMA Show

Ludacris Legend and Acura ILX What’s common between Ludacris, Acura and SEMA? You have probably already heard the news that one of the most exciting brands has exhibited at the #2015SEMA show four special cars, one of which is 1993 “Ludacris Legend”! The other thee also impress, because they are namely the sport-modified 2016 Acura ILX Sports Sedan made by Galpin Auto Sports and 2016 ILX with Acura Genuine Accessory package in Slate Silver Metallic as well as the debuting-next-spring Acura NSX supercar.

The GRAMMY award-winning artist and actor, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges is an owner of uniquely customized and restored1993 Acura “Ludacris Legend.” And if you are fan you’d probably know that the sedan has been featured on his ninth studio album, LUDAVERSAL. However, the car has undergone a complete ground-up restoration led by company’s creative director, Dave Marek.

The process of restoring the Legend took around two months. What has been achieved? The Acura Legend sedan has received its original factory luster, inside and out, but also includes minor modifications like the upsized, 18-inch Rays wheels wrapped around Bridgestone Potenza High-Performance 215/40R/18 tires or the 6-piston front caliper and 4-piston rear caliper brakes.

The original paint scheme of the car was also changed and it is now custom-made Warm Cashmere with Ice Pearl paint scheme. Ludacris has already installed a great sound system, the Pioneer AVIC 8/ONEX, but it was improved with the addition of a couple of Alpine Type-12 subwoofer speakers in the luggage department.

The Legend was also lowered by two-inches, because the Marek envisioned the extra H&R springs and Eibach camber kit. Frame, body and chassis work was made better in order to round out the new appearance of the car.

GAS experts have done a great work on a sports sedan variant of the latest ILX. Just to remind you, the refreshed version of the sedan is powered by a new 200-horsepower, 2.4-liter direct-injected i-VTEC unit connected to an 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT).

‘Why not modifying the ILX?’ thought Galpin Auto Sports, thus their custom ILX was born. The modifications include new front bumper with accent front splitter, custom rear diffuser with JDM Fog Light plus custom exhaust exit with rear spoiler. Furthermore, the suspension was improved with RS-R Sports coilovers and a Borla exhaust with custom dual tips.

Other details here include 19-inch AVI wheels in a Matte Brushed Smoked finished wrapped around Pirelli 245/30/19P Zero Run Flat Tires accentuated with black brakes. They make the perfect contrast to the exterior color of the car, called Sunburst Yellow. Shark Gray accents are also visible. The same color scheme has been applied to the interior, which gold contrast stitching throughout along with Katzkin perforated Barracuda leather inserts.

The other ILX you will see at SEMA if you visit it is the equipped with the Acura Genuine Accessory package. It differentiates from the other ILX drastically due to its exterior paint scheme which is Slate Silver Metallic. The pack is exhibited at the show to show customers some of the options for customizing their own ILX.

Precisely, Acura Genuine Accessory package comprises of an aero kit including front, rear and side spoilers, decklid spoiler, 18-inch alloys in Diamond-Cut finish, floor mats, chrome elements for the door, LED fog lights, rear bumper appliqué and the remote engine Starter.

Acura NSX Next-Gen Sports Vehicle Will Be a Pace Car at Pikes Peak

Acura NSX supercar from the next generation will serve as an official pace vehicle in the 93rd edition of Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, held on June, 28. The twin-turbo Acura NSX will be leading the field to the top of the 14,110-foot Colorado mountain.

What is hidden under the hood of the latest Acura NSX is pure power. The vehicle comes with 75-degree twin-turbo V6 powerplant, working in perfect harmony with a 9-speed dual clutch gearbox. Furthermore, the Acura NSX will demonstrate a special Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system, that ensures incredible capability and flexibility. And the supercar will be driven by Sage Marie, the senior manager of American Honda Public Relations. Mr. Marie is also a two-time Pikes Peak competitor and road racer. He even won the first Pirelli World Clallenge B-Spec race back in 2012.

Honda-Powered HPH ARX Vehicle Will Be Racing at the Pikes Peak Event

Honda and Acura vehicles have participated in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb event in recent years with numerous models as the Acura NSX and the Honda Fit and even the furious Honda Odysey, but now Honda Performance Development team has cvreated a special model in order to dominate over the 14,110-foot mountain. But now something special comes our way!

Honda introduces the HPH ARX Coupe

The special Honda-powered HPH ARX-04b LMP2 coupe, that have already proved its capabilities in this year’s Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, entered in the 2015 Pikes Peak event will be tamed by Verizon IndyCar Series winner and former Formula 1 driver Justin Wilson.

The ARX-04b will be the first full-carbon-fiber vehicle ever sanctioned for PPIHC and will demonstrate what its 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine is capable of. The ARX-04b will be competing in the Unlimited class, which include numerous heavily modified vehicles, that can go through all the 156 turns in the 12.42-mile track in less than 10 minutes.

The ARX-04b, that was crafted through an effort between HPD and With Research comes with an energy-saving technology, low drag and incredible fuel efficiency. And with Wilson behind the wheel we all expect some wonderful results. But as always, only time will show what will happen.

Acura Launches RLX Sport Hybrid with More Features

2016 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid goes on sale tomorrow and this is an official reason why we have to pay more attention to it. The good news here is that the flagship luxury sport sedan will be equipped with greater feature content and driver assistive technologies including the new “Surround View” camera. The better news is that the car will go on sale with the same price as the current model.

The RLX will be offered in two trim levels: RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD with Technology Package and RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD with Advance Package. The first one has been enhanced with AcuraWatch as standard, while the second one – Surround View Camera, bi-directional keyless remote engine starter and heated steering wheel.

Drivetrain

Powering the hybrid vehicle is the 3.5-liter V6 engine combined with the three-motor hybrid system with Acura’s signature Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). The total output is 377 horsepower (277 kW) and 462 Nm (341 lb-ft) of torque.

This is highly efficient powertrain which has any-road capability combined with dynamic performance. Acceleration is fast, while the fuel economy stays impressive and begins at 32 mpg EPA highway.

The performance characteristics of the RLX hybrid are accompanied by more comprehensive feature which features AcuraWatch, Surround View Camera, bi-directional starter and heated steering wheel.
