The latest SKODA Fabia model rolls out of the production line

2021 SKODA Fabia Today, the fourth-generation Fabia rolled off the line at SKODA’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav. The facility was specially modified so that the latest generation of the popular small car could be built there. New Fabia is based on Volkswagen’s MQB-A0 platform and enables the vehicle to be super spacious and packed with an additional number of features, systems, and goodies.

New Fabia is 4,108mm long and 1,780mm wide, which makes it one of the largest Fabias ever produced. The boot space, which was already the largest in the segment, has also received additional 50 liters to the total of 380 liters. Neat!

The design and new proportions of the new Fabia make the vehicle extremely appealing. For the first time ever, the model in the lineup comes with the MQB-A0 platform, comes with other notable features – an exclusive AWD system with a manual gearbox or an automatic 7-speed DSG system. There’s also a choice between five petrol engines produced by Volkswagen’s current EVO generation. All these units blend low emissions and enhanced driving dynamics. What is also notable about this lineup is the drag coefficient (cd) of 0.28, which sets a record in the small car segment. Fabia’s latest edition also comes with tons of utility systems that were previously available exclusively for the higher-end SKODA machines.

Lexus will showcase new exclusive models at the Chicago Auto Show

2022-Lexus-NX-350-F-910 Lexus team is ready to demonstrate its full line of luxury vehicles at the 2021 Chicago Auto Show, including the new 2022 Lexus NX and the IS 500 Performance Launch Edition.

The 2022 Lexus NX has been fully revised from the inside out and now features an entirely new platform with a panoramic moonroof and striking 20-inch glossy aluminum wheels. In terms of performance, the vehicle relies on an agile 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and generates a total of 450hp.

On the other hand, the IS 500 Performance Launch Edition is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 and comes in a limited run of 500 units. All of them generate 472hp at 7,100rpm and 395 lb-ft of torque at 4,800rpm.

In terms of aesthetics and design, the Launch Edition features exclusive 19-inch split-seven-spoke alloy wheels, neat curves, and elegant lines, and will be exclusively sold with the brand’s new color, Incognito. As it comes to the cabin, the new 2022 IS 500 features Takumi craftsmanship materials and includes a sporty two-tone black and gray Ultrasuede trimming.

Vauxhall announces details for the all-new Astra

2021 Vauxhall Astra Vauxhall has revealed the all-new 8^th generation of the Astra. The new lineup will offer two performance levels with plug-in hybrids, petrol and diesel engines. Also, the new Astra will come with a new design language and numerous enhancements.

A bit larger than its predecessor, the Astra is only 4mm longer but comes with a considerably larger wheelbase of 2,675mm. Alongside the neat changes in the exterior design, the vehicle also features adaptive Intelli-Lux LED Pixel lights with 168 LED elements.

In terms of interior, the new Astra features a revised cabin with a fully digitalized panel and instrument cluster. The advanced human-machine interface (HMI) offers more intuitive control, while the passengers can control different interior functions via the extra-wide touchscreens.

Drivetrain system

New Astra is based on the third generation of highly flexible EMP2 multi-energy architecture and features numerous systems that make the ride way more pleasurable and safe. Such are McPherson strut suspension, multifunction camera, sensors and radars for even more visibility and road control.

In terms of driver assistance systems, new Astra includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Transmission, Stop&Go function, INtelli-Vision 360-degrees, Traffic Sign Recognition, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and active Lane Positioning.

New Nissan LEAF comes with the exclusive Canto sound technology

Bugatti reveals three special models at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

2021 Bugatti Chiron Bugatti team reveals tons of neat stuff at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. First, the charming Chiron Pur Sport 1 will be driven up the famous hill, as well as the new Chiron Super Sport 2, and the Bugatti Baby II.

Recently named the Best Hypercar for 2021 by Robb Report, the Chiron Pur Sport is designed to be the most agile of the Chiron family and comes with a massive quad-turbo W16 unit with 1,500hp and 1,600Nm of torque. This means that the car can speed up to 100km/h in mere 2.3 seconds and has a top speed of 350km/h.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport

The vehicle will showcase luxurious features and a state-of-the-art drivetrain system. Super Sport comes with a massive 8.0-liter W16 engine that generates a total of 1,600hp. The model-exclusive modifications have further pumped up the performance rates and contribute to a quite agile sprints – 0-200km/h in 5.5 seconds, 0-300 in 12.1. The top speed is 440km/h.

The vehicle pays a special tribute to Bugatti’s history and comes in a limited run of 500 vehicles. Based on the original Type 35 racer, the lineup has been developed using advanced technologies and numerous vintage approaches that altogether contribute to a rather striking final result.

Vauxhall announces future electrification plans

2021 Vauxhall Manta Vauxhall team is opening the next chapter of its electrification campaign – the British brand will focus exclusively on battery electrics from 2028 onwards.

Paul Willcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall Motors, commented: “As of 2028, Vauxhall will only offer fully electric cars and vans in the UK. The future of the automotive industry is electric – and Vauxhall will lead that in this country. We are on a journey to reinvent Vauxhall and heading towards a net-zero CO2 future – CO2 is the new currency in our industry.”

At the Stellantis EV Day 2021, it was announced that a new and advanced lineup of vehicles will be introduced at some point. These will be based on the Opel Manta, the concept vehicle that received mainly positive feedback.

Also, the Vauxhall team revealed a total of nine electric and electrified vehicles, along with the Manta – Corsa-e, Mokka-e, Grandland PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid), Combo-e, Combo-e Life, Vivaro-e, Vivaro-e Life and Movano-e.

In the first six months of the year, Corsa-e remains Vauxhall’s best-selling battery-electric car. Also, with the introduction of the all-electric Combo-e and the Movano-e LCV, the brand expands its portfolio and offers even more flexibility for its customers.

SKODA Superb takes home yet another prestigious award

2021 SKODA Superb SKODA Superb has scored its sixth consecutive win at the Fleet News Awards and managed to retain its Best Upper Medium Car title.

The vehicle first impressed the jury back in 2016 and since then the Czech-built hatch and estate models have dominated the event thoroughly.

Summarising the ongoing appeal of the Superb to fleet operators and company car drivers, Fleet News said; “Company car drivers looking for a cost-effective mile-muncher would have a hard time finding a more suitable car than the ŠKODA Superb.”

Commenting on the popular Superb iV plug-in hybrid model, the title added: We’re big fans of the Superb and this model makes it a more attractive company car choice. It offers near-silent running in EV mode and has the added benefit of remote heater and air-con activation via an app. You simply cannot get a better upper-medium car.

The Superb remains the most popular and beloved model in SKODA’s history, having claimed more than 60 awards in the UK alone, since its re-introduction back in 2001. Maserati takes the new MC20 for a ride at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

2021 Maserati MC20 Maserati’s MC20 super sports car made its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and took off to a ride at the famous hill climb in the Supercar Run.

The vehicle is the brand’s first mid-engine two-seater super sports car that boasts a top speed of 202mph and is also the first Maserati to include a carbon-fiber monocoque, meaning the whole vehicle weights only 1500kgs. Also, the vehicle is paired to a powerful F1-derived power unit, which offers an exceptional weight-to-power ratio and neat performance rates – the vehicle is capable of achieving 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds. The engine is on display alongside the MC20 in the Supercar Paddock.

Also, the Ghibli Trofeo, Maserati’s performance saloon also made an appearance at the show and took a run at the hill climb as part of First Glance, showcasing its powerful 580hp V8 unit that is capable of reaching 100km/h in 4.3 seconds.

Kia Stinger GT400 makes its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

2021 Kia Stinger GT-400 Kia reveals its high-performance Stinger vehicle at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Following the unveiling of the new EV6 machine, Kia is now ready to spice things up.

The Stinger GT420

Developed in-house, the vehicle features a revised 3,342cc V6 twin-turbo petrol unit that pumps the massive 422hp and 560Nm of torque.

What is special about the Stinger is that everything from the spark plugs to the exhaust is modified. The HKS M45il spark plugs were geared, a K&N sports air filter and a lightweight Milltek Sport quad-exit exhaust system with catalysts deleted were fitted. The gearbox was refined with added cooling and updated race-ready software to quicken gear changes, while the car’s original track was widened using OZ Racing Leggera rims shod with Pirelli Trofeo R tires. The suspension was lowered using Eibach Pro springs over the car’s original dampers. Uprated front brakes with added ducting for cooling were added to ensure the GT420 can be stopped as quickly as it starts.

Some of the mechanical improvements include a comprehensive weight reduction and some aerodynamic improvements – including a new front splitter and rear diffuser, a new rear spoiler by Air Design. The final pièce de résistance is an eye-catching wrap that integrates with the car’s HiChroma Red paintwork, looking sensational from every angle.

Kia reveals the new EV6 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Kia EV6

The vehicle is a result of the so-called Plan S strategy, which includes the introduction of a wide range of 11 electric vehicles by 2026.

Available in four different trim levels, the new EV6 adopts a long-range 77.4kWh battery pack with a wide 316 miles range from a single charge. Accompanied by its all-electric architecture, the EV6 can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 18 minutes.

As it comes to the standard features, such include: dark grey 19-inch alloy wheels with a diamond-cut finish, electrically folding, adjustable and heated door mirrors, LED lighting all around, vegan leather upholstery, ambient lighting, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual automatic air conditioning, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing front wipers, engine Start/Stop button with Smart Entry System, and navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go. Advanced driving aid systems include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with city, pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning functionality, Highway Driving Assist, and Drive Mode Select.

On the other hand, the sport-inspired EV6 GT-Line and GT-Line S spice up the mix by adding onboard technologies and a more powerful twin-motor AWD powertrain.

The range-topping and high-performance GT model will be unveiled later in 2022 and it is expected to be powered by an agile 577hp and AWD system as standard.
