Porsche 911 Turbo Mk2 vs Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 and Chevrolet Corvette Z06

More drag racing, but this time with stock sport cars – Porsche 911 Turbo Mk2 6-speed manual with 500HP against Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with 505HP and Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 with 560HP.

In the first start, the 911 Turbo owned the Z06. The Porsche finished in 29.289 seconds with 281 km/h and set personal absolute record on ¼ mile – 11.625 seconds with 197 km/h.

The second start was also owned by the Porsche. It crossed the 1 mile mark in 29.341 seconds with terminal speed of 281 km/h, while the Gallardo needed 30.712 seconds.

The third start was free, but the Porsche 911 Turbo Mk2 set personal absolute record on 1 mile – 29.231 seconds with 282 km/h. Andrey N. behind the steering wheel is winner of 2^nd place in Super Stock Class 2013.

2013 Skoda Octavia RS and Octavia Combi RS [video]

The 3^rd generation of Skoda Octavia RS made its official debut at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is the fastest production Octavia ever made not only in straight line, but in the corners, too.

There are two engines in the range – a 2.0 liter TDI and a 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol. The 2.0 liter petrol delivers 220HP (162 kW), which means 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 248 km/h (154 mph), while the 2.0 liter TDI has only 184HP (135 kW) – 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 232 km/h (144 mph).

The standard extras include sports suspension, MacPherson strut, Electronic differential lock XDS and electronic stability control (ESC).

Other highlights include an aggressive front bumper with LED DRLs, honeycomb mesh grille inserts, bi-xenon headlights, a dual exhaust system and 18” alloy wheels. The interior boasts sports seats, a three-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting. There’s also dual-zone climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system.

2014 Skoda Rapid Spaceback

Skoda has introduced the all-new 2013 Rapid Spaceback offering as manufacturers says “Simply Clever” solutions.

For example, the new Rapid Spaceback has an optional double cargo floor in the trunk, permitting the trunk to be divided into two horizontal levels providing double utility. What is more, there is no need to leave the double floor behind when using maximum trunk space as it can simply be moved into the lower position.

Other practical features include parking ticket holder, multimedia holder, cup holders in the front and rear or parcel shelf that can be stowed behind the rear seats.

The 2013 Rapid Spaceback comes with front, side and head airbags, height-adjustable three-point safety belts with pre-tensioners and height-adjustable head restraints. In EU countries, the ABS and ESC systems are standard. Other active safety features are optional xenon headlights, tire pressure control, fog-lights with corner function or the ‘hill-hold control’ assistant.

The engine range includes 4 petrol and 2 diesel power units with power between 55kW to 75kW. The 1.6 liter TDI Greenline ahieves 3.8 l per 100 km with just 99 g/km CO2.
The Rapid Spaceback will celebrate its premiere at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, while its launch in the European markets is scheduled for October 2013.

60th Anniversary of Chevrolet Corvette

Chevrolet has marked the 60^th Anniversary of the iconic sports car – Corvette. The first model went into production in Flint, Mich. on June 30, 1953 and since then, the Corvette has become an American icon that continues to offer the best in today’s technology and performance.

“During the past six decades, the Corvette has been woven into the fabric of American culture, as the sports car of choice for movie stars, musicians and astronauts. The very best Corvettes represent the state-of-the-art for their eras in terms of design, technology and performance.”, commented Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet Marketing.

The latest model is the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which comes with Z51 performance package as standard. It includes an LSD (limited-slip differential), aerodynamics package, a set of big wheels and brakes as well as performance gear ratio. Other highlights include sport suspension (shocks, springs and stabilizer bars), magnetic ride control suspension tuned for European roads, along with a performance exhaust and traction management systems.

The Stingray is powered by a 6.2 liter V7 LT1 with 460HP (343 kW) at 6,000RPM and 630Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque at 4,600RPM. 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – electronically limited. The engine is mated to a 7-speed manual gearbox with active rev matching.

Debut Of Toyota GT 86 TRD Griffon Project At Goodwood [VIDEO]

Toyota has just returned to Goodwood Festival of Speed with it’s the pure-bred racing model – the GT 86 TRD Griffon Project. The car was revealed exactly a month ago, now its making its public debut, and next – it will be unveiled at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon, making a Japanese premiere.

TRD Griffon Project is a development of the GT86 which has a design orientated specifically for track driving. The modifications made are reduction of car’s weight, strengthening of the chassis and introduction of racing-specification TRD accessories.

The body shape is kept as the original GT 86, however the Griffon Project features bonnet, roof, doors, boot lid and rear wings made from lightweight carbon fibre. Additional weight is saved trough the utilization of carbon fibre reinforced plastic for the bumpers, wider front wings and rear diffuser. Instead of glass, the engineers and designers of the project have used polycarbonate material for the windows.

Inside the vehicle, one can see a TRD driver’s bucket seat, gear shift knob, ignition button and oil pressure and water temperature gauges. There are also included Momo steering wheel and Takata seatbelts.

Furthermore, there have been made many enhancements on the components of the car. For example, the standard Torsen limited-slip differential has been substituted by TRD mechanical LSD. Toyota Releases SpongeBob SquarePants Inspired 2014 Highlander

2014 Toyota Highlander SpongeBob SquarePants was inspired by the collaboration of Nickelodeon and Toyota. The unique vehicle features a custom SpongeBob-themed exterior and an interior design. This special edition 2014 Highlander is family friendly and plain fun, in other words it emphasizes the perfect combination of family vehicle and cartoon.

The redesigned Highlander made its global debut in March this year at the New York Auto Show. The SpongeBob SquarePants inspired vehicle is part of “Happy Driving!” tour, which will showcase the all-new model of the mid-size crossover SUV.

2014 Cadillac ELR To Feature All-LED Exterior Lightning

2014 Cadillac ELR is going to be available at dealerships this winter and it will be the first electric vehicle in the automotive world which is going to feature all-LED exterior lighting. BMW E92 M3 ESS VT2-700 vs: RS6 Sportmile R1K, GT-R AMS Alpha 12+,Porsche 911 Turbo and Panamera Turbo

A mighty BMW E92 M3 ESS VT2-700 with 700HP made several drag starts versus Audi RS6 Sportmile R1K with 1000HP,Porsche 911 Turbo Mk.1 DT 1200 with 1200HP, Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+ with 1500HP and a Porsche Panamera Turbo S Stage 1 with 700HP.

The first start is versus the Panamera, which managed to set personal absolute Record on 1 mile and ¼ mile, but still it lost. The M3 crossed the finish line in 29.036 seconds with a terminal speed of 279.5 km/h.

The BMW won the second start, too. It is versus a 911 Turbo, which obviously had some problems. Still, the tuned M3 set personal records on ¼ mile – 11.704 seconds and 1 mile – 28.911 seconds with terminal speed of 281 km/h.

The third start was doomed, tuned RS6 has over 250HP more than the BMW. What is more, this particular Audi is the winner of 2^nd place in Gran Turismo class 2013. The RS6 Sportmile R1K set absolute speed record of all-time in the class – 321 km/h; Personal absolute record – 27.016 seconds nd absolute speed record for Audi RS6.

The last start is versus one of the fastest street legal cars in the world – Nissan GT-R Mk.2 AMS Alpha 12+. It stopped the clock on 9.447 seconds with 260.11 km/h at ¼ mile; 22.538 seconds and 382.16 km/h on 1 mile. This GT-R driven by Juriy M. is winner of 1^st place in Super Sport Class 2013; Winner 1^st place in Top Speed Class 2013 and some other records.

Kahn Introduces Ford Focus RS250

Back in 1998 the emblematic model of Ford – the Focus was launched. It immediately made a furore and became a class leader. Now, this iconic model has taken the attention of the British designers at A. Kahn Design.

First of all they have decided to give the car new exterior color, thus covering it in splendid Diamond White couture. On the other hand, in order to make more contrast to the exterior, the upper lower and front grilles were made in satin black.

This particular Focus runs on Cosworth wheels in size 8.5 x 19 inch, and to be more precise, they are in anthracite color. The rear wing spoiler bonnet vents and side trims are also in satin black and therefore ensure the perfect synthesis of luxury and design.

Premiere For Fiat 500L Pro

Fiat 500L Pro is the latest variant of the famous model which combines the unmistakable Italian design with the special features of Fiat Professional products. It delivers excellent fuel economy and ergonomics, low emissions and fuel consumption, outstanding reliability and robustness.

The model is being offered on four-seat configuration only. However it can be fitted with two efficient engines: the 85 hp (63 kW) 1.3 16v MultiJet 2II turbo diesel and the 95 hp (70 kW) petrol 1.4 16v Fire.

One of this Fiat’s strongest points is the excellent external dimensions. The 500L Pro is is 415 cm long, 178 cm wide, 166 cm high and has a 261 cm wheelbase. The latter results in great interior space and in addition it includes 400 litre boot, which becomes 1310 litres by folding down the rear seats.

On the other hand, the fuel consumption and servicing are at their best, and are combined with good pick-up and flexibility at low rpm even with a full load. To be more precise, the 1.3 16v MultiJet 2 delivers 85 horsepower (63 kW) at 3,500 rpm and has a maximum torque of 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) at 1,500 rpm. In addition, this engine produces only 110 g/km of CO2 and its fuel economy is estimated at 4.2 litres/100 km.

Next, the other variant – the 1.4 16v Fire engine produces 95 hp (70 kW) at 6000 rpm and reaches a top torque of 127 Nm (94 lb-ft) at 4500 rpm. In the combined cycle, the fuel consumption is 6.2 litres/100 km and the CO2emissions – 145 g/km.

Furthermore, the 500L Pro is equipped with range of safety technologies which come as a standard: front airbags and window bags, three-point seat belts with double pretensioners and load limiters, adjustable front and rear head restraints, ABS with BAS (Brake Assist System) and ESC for stability control, Hill Holder, ASR/ MSR, DST and ERM functions.

The starting price of Fiat 500L Pro begins at € 10300.
