2014 Nissan Qashqai Finally Revealed [VIDEO]

2014 Nissan Qashqai has been finally revealed today. The second generation of the model was unveiled during a 3D social media digital mapping show in London. At the event, the design of the car was revealed via images which were submitted by more than 2,500 people. These images represent the best of technology innovation. Then they came together to form the shape of the all-new Qashqai.

2015 Qashqai comes to enhance Nissan’s crossover leadership position. It will go on sale in January 2014. In the new SUV are included premium technologies, enhanced dynamics and a revised visual appearance.

The second generation model is 20mm wider, 49mm longer and 15mm lower than the current one. Yet despite this reduction in height, front and rear headroom levels have actually increased by 10mm and the raised driving position remains.

In addition to the main NissanConnect screen, there is also included a five-inch TFT colour display within the instrument panel. It offers information such as average and actual speeds, fuel economy, turn-by-turn navigation instructions, audio content, traffic sign recognition, Nissan Safety Shield, Chassis Control, eco driving advice, as well as tyre pressure information and torque distribution settings in 4WD mode.

It emits 129g/km of CO2 and has a fuel consumption figure of 50.4mpg . It is equipped with Start/Stop ignition as standard, and benefits from a raft of fuel-saving technologies, including a regenerative alternator, optimised gear ratios and special low-viscosity oils.

Next, the 1.6 DIG-T produces 150 hp (110 kW) and 240Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. Its fuel consumption is 50.4mpg, while CO2 emissions are 132g/km.

The first of the diesel engines is the 1.5 dCi which is capable of generating 110 hp (81 kW). In fact, this is the cleanest and most fuel-efficient engine ever offered in a Qashqai with CO2 emissions of just 99g/km. In terms of fuel consumption, the 1.5 dCi sets new standards in the crossover sector with an EU combined figure of just 74.3mpg.

At last, at the top of the Qashqai’s diesel range is the 1.6 dCi unit offered with the option of two and four-wheel-drive. It delivers 130 hp (96kW) and is one of the most advanced diesel powerplants in its sector. In two-wheel-drive manual form, the 1.6 dCi has CO2 emissions of 115g/km and combined fuel consumption figure of 64.2mpg. The Xtronic version emits 119g/km and returns 61.4mpg, while the four-wheel-drive manual version enjoys figures of 129g/km and 57.6mpg.

2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Concept Offers More Power

2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Concept comes to offer more power, greater efficiency and improved features developed for law enforcement. The vehicle has a brand new interior, exterior as well as EcoTec3 powertrain.

At the same time it retains its basic dimensions, sturdy body-on-frame architecture and versatility. In addition, it has more space in the rear seat, which provides more leg room and easier access.

As an option, there is being offered the river Alert Package that features lane departure warning, forward collision alert and Chevrolet’s Safety Alert seat. Furthermore, the increased utilization of high-strength steel next to the new inlaid doors deliver safer and quieter ride.

OnStar advanced information technology is now standard on the Tahoe PPV and it provides automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle slowdown and recovery. The vehicle also features as a standard Bluetooth.

Security features included in the PPV are new door locks, side-milled keys and a steering column lock.

2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Concept will be offered in 2WD pursuit and 4WD special service variants and will be available for order in the first and respectively the second quarter of 2014.

Nissan Introduces BladeGlider Concept

Nissan BladeGlider is more than a concept because it combines brand’s proposal for the future direction of Nissan electric vehicle (EV) development as well as is an exploratory prototype of an upcoming production vehicle. As one can see the vehicle has special forms, which in particular were crafted to give the driver and passengers “sustainable exhilaration”.

This Nissan concept targets those who seek visceral driving and sustainability. The starting point for this project was a clean slate, led by Francois Bancon. The shape of the BladeGlider has defintely challenges the orthodoxy with its narrow front track.

The main focus in the architecture of this unique EV was in terms of engineering, and expecially – aerodynamics. The car achieves low drag (cdA) while generating road-hugging downforce. With its narrow, 1.0 metre lightweight front track and wide, stable rear track, the BladeGlider looks extremely radical.

However, this architecture is connected to the enhanced aerodynamics and balance. To be more precise, having the front wheels close together reduces drag and improves maneuverability for high-G cornering power, assisted by its 30/70 front/rear weight distribution ratio.

In addition, what also contributes for the better aerodynamics is the highly rigid but lightweight carbon-fibre underbody. The electric motors use Nissan’s innovative lithium-ion battery technology, which we have seen in Nissan LEAF. The battery modules are positioned low and towards the rear to enhance stability and handling. BladeGlider is a rear-drive performance car that exhibits a coherent and linear handling

Undoubtedly the exterior design of the BladeGlider envisions the EV future in very different way. Its tightly streamlined deltoid body comprises a structurally enhanced chassis wrapped in carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). The car is painted with pearlescent white colour.

The interior is designed for three persons and the seats there are in a triangular configuration with the driver centre-forward. Seating appointments feature special light and comfortable coverings with yellow fluorescent lines. The steering-wheel is reminiscent to those used in the aircraft, while the futuristic instrumentation technology completes the glider-like image. When one opens the door, the driver’s seat automatically slides laterally, which allow easy access to passenger seats.

Vilner Transforms 1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C3

Art design Studio Vilner, known as the “Atelier of unlimited possibilities”, has just shared with us its latest project. A classical 1976 Chevrolet Corvette has received fine makeover, which refreshes the forms of the legendary Stingray C3 and at the same time keeps the classic lines of the U.S. muscle car.

In order to turn this car in to another magnificent project of Vilner, the work on this Corvette started with the engine. The 5.7 liter V8 Small Block unit got new head, shafts and two twin carburetors.

All of them were delivered by the U.S. experts at Edelbrock Performance. The generation was shortened and was carried over to the side of the body. The machine hasn’t been put through a dyno test, which means that the results of the power tuning are not known. What is expected however is a peak power of 300 hp (220 kW).

The exterior of the car has also been modified and has received new varnish in pearl brown color, while the targa roof trim got upholstery from calf leather adorned by decorative stitching. The original nickel-plated wheels were left untouched as well as the form of the tail-lights.

The latter, however, have entirely new bodies that rely on new LED lights that in turn add a note of futurism in the classic stance of the carosserie. In order to be convenient for driving, this Corvette got new daytime running lights as well as new turn signals.

To go even further into details, into the original bodies of the parking-lights and indicators were integrated LED-daytime running lights and LED-indicators, as well as into those of the tail-lights. They were created specifically for this automobile and indeed they are unique.

In the opening of the front fenders were inbuilt two chrome-plated grills, while the rear bumper of the car is with completely changed design for a better line. The Audio system here is made of high quality source by Mcintosh, three amplifiers and three-band front system delivered by Ground Zero, as well as two subwoofers by Peerless.

Furthermore, the seat’s upholstery was made of a combination between calf-nappa leather and box, while the laser engraving provided an additional note of personalization. At last, the elements made of wood veneer were replaced by inserts made of high-tech Corian material.

Dodge and Mopar has just announced the introduction of new Scat Package performance stage kits for the 2014 Dodge Challenger, 2014 Dodge Charger and 2014 Dodge Dart at the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas. They honor the 45th anniversary of the legendary “Scat Pack Club” that played a very important role.

The Scat Pack Club is synonym of extreme performance and now both brands are delivering factory-engineered performance stage kits that are known as “Scat Packages”. The kits will be available for the aforementioned vehicles at a cost-effective price.

Each Scat Package kit comprises of a numbered hard badge associated with its performance stage. Those who will purchase the kits will have the chance to proudly display the emblem on their vehicle as a badge of honor. The Scat Package performance upgrade kits will be available in dealerships in the spring of 2014.

Scat Package 1 is created with the aim to deliver horsepower boost through three modifications: Mopar cold-air intake to provide increased air-flow into the engine, Mopar cat-back exhaust to free up downstream airflow, and a performance calibrated engine controller, optimized to the 5.7-liter HEMI engine.

2014 Dodge Dart GT will be alos available with the packages. The vehicle is powered by a 184 horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with six-speed manual transmission. To go further into details, the Scat Package 1 provides great performance and handling improvements from Mopar through a cold-air intake, performance brake pads and a new short-throw shifter.

On the other hand, the Scat Package 2 adds more horsepower via engine calibration which works in conjunction with Mopar cat-back exhaust. The Scat Package 3 provides the ultimate package for those seeking optimal track times and in particular it includes Mopar big brake kit.

The latter comprises of 13-inch vented rotors, four-piston front calipers and stainless steel lines, performance suspension including adjustable springs for ride height, adjustable dampening struts and front and rear sway bars.

Mopar modifications that add beyond the Scat Package kits are the dual vented functional aluminum hood, Mopar side sills, chin splitter and rear diffuser, and a unique new three-piece decklid spoiler to boost downforce. The Dart rides on concept 19 x 8-inch lightweight gloss black wheels, accented with Mopar logo center caps.

Lotus Unveils Elise S Cup R

Lotus Elise S Cup R is the latest addition to brand’s motorsport portfolio which is built specifically for the track only. Here for the first time, a supercharged Elise S’ mid-mounted, transverse, 1.8 litre 2ZR-FE engine has been utilized in a Cup variant.

In addition, the vehicle also includes bespoke livery and aerodynamic body kit. The performance of the vehicle is enhanced over the road-going Elise S via a motorsport-specific engine control module (ECM) and a CFD proved aero pack.

The latter comprises of front splitter, barge boards, winglets, rear diffuser, floor extensions and rear wing. In addition, the weight of the car is extremely low – it is only 924 kg. All this results in additional downforce, which when combined with adjustable damper and springs, reduces lap times by 4 seconds on a 5 km lap over the standard Elise S.

2014 Nissan Patrol Facelift [video]

Nissan Patrol is a name synonymous with superior performance and luxury and also has a legendary off-roader capabilities. Nissan Middle East has published a new promotional video of the 2014 Patrol Facelift. The 7^th generation comes with minor changes for the exterior and the interior.

The exterior features new front fascia and new taillights as well as refreshed alloy wheels. The interior features tan leather upholstery and a wood-trimmed steering wheel.

The manufacturer has also introduced a limited-run Patrol Black Special Edition which will be produced in 200 units. They will come with several upgrades red upholstery for the seats, chrome detailing and a black matte exterior paint job.

Hyundai & Bisimoto Genesis Coupe – 1000HP [video]

Hyundai and Bisimoto Engineering have announced their Genesis Coupe with 1000HP. The monster is specially designed to be a “no-holds-barred racer”.

The 3.8 liter Lambda V6 engine is boosted by twin Turbonetics turbochargers. It also features Arias forged pistons, upgraded fuel injectors and a Magnafuel fuel pump. Other upgrades include custom ignition coils, a Sparco intercooler and a Burns stainless sports exhaust system.

The exterior boasts an Electric Blue paint job, a ventilated hood and a carbon fiber decklid spoiler. We also can see the modified front bumper and the huge intercooler behind it. Other highlights include a drag parachute and 20” aluminum wheels fitted with Toyo R888 R-Compound tires.

The interior comes with a number of upgrades, too – Buddy Club racing seats, a roll cage and a Racepack IQ3 digital dash. There are also carbon fiber elements and unique door pad inserts.

Volkswagen Twin-Up Diesel-Electric Hybrid

Volkswagen has announced the Twin-Up diesel-electric hybrid concept. The super-efficient small car will probably become a production model.

The Twin-Up has two-cylinder 0.8 liter common-rail diesel engine from the XL1 – 47HP (35 kW) and 120Nm (88 lb-ft) of torque. There is also an electric motor with 47HP (35 kW) and 140Nm (103 lb-ft). The combined power is 74HP (55 kW) and 214Nm (158 lb-ft), which is sent to the front axle through a dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox. 0-100 km/h in 15.7 seconds and a top speed of 140 km/h (87 mph) – electronically limited in hybrid mode. Still, this car is not about performance, it is about low fuel consumption – 1.1 liter / 100 km (257 mpg UK or 214 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of only 27 g/km. Furthermore, it has an all-electric range of up to 50 km (31 miles).

The Volkswagen Twin-Up is 1,205 kg (2,656 lbs), which is 410 kg (904 lbs) heavier than the revolutionary XL1. It has an 8.6 kWh battery pack and 33 liters diesel fuel tank, which is 23 liters bigger than the one in the XL1.

The manufacturer has announced plans to show a more production-oriented Twin-Up concept later this month at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.

Porsche 997 Turbo S With Stage 3 Kit By McChip-DKR

McChip-DKR Porsche 997 Turbo S is a vehicle which was tuned specially for track day events. The specialists at the tuning company McChip-DKR are proficient in the fields of power improvements and that is why they decided to give this sixth generation nine-eleven 2012 model some new characteristics.

The production Porsche is equipped with 3.8 Turbo DFI engine, but the McChip-DKR decided to improve it by giving it a Stage-3-Kit. Hence, the serial 530 horsepower (390 kW) and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) of max torque were enhanced by a modified engine management with software adaptation, an exhaust system with sports cats and header designed by Michael SCHNARR from the CARGRAPHIC company.

The result is up to 600 horsepower (441 kW) and 815 Nm (605 lb-ft) of max torque as well as a mighty sound. Furthermore, to make it more safety due to the increase of power, the tuners have equipped the Porsche with HEGEMANN rollover cage.

In addition, the sliding roof has been exchanged against carbon top. The needed reduction in weight, typical for every sportscar modification, was achieved via the Makrolon material used for the manufacturing of the rear window.

Toyota is going to make five world-premieres of concept vehicles at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, which will start on 20th of November in the Japanese city. All of the concepts were created under the slogan “Fun to Drive, Again” which conveys brand’s vision of a future mobility society that values the joy of driving.

The concepts on display at the event are: Toyota FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle) Concept, Toyota FV2 (Fun Vehicle 2), Toyota JPN Taxi Concept, Toyota Voxy Concept and Noah Concept, Toyota Aqua G Sports Compact Sports Hybrid, Toyota i-Road and at last but not least – Toyota FT-86 Open Concept.
The first global debut is for Toyota FCV which is a practical concept of the fuel cell vehicle Toyota plans to launch around 2015. It is powered by hydrogen and has a driving range of at least 500 km and refueling times as low as three minutes.

The vehicle’s exterior design is inspired by the transformation of air into water as the system produces electricity, as well as the powerful acceleration enabled by the electric drive motor. The bold front view includes pronounced air intakes.

The car also has sleek sides that convey the air-to-water transformation with its flowing-liquid door profile and wave-motif fuel cap. The same theme is used for the creation of the rear, which conveys a catamaran’s stern and the flow of water behind.

The vehicle can perfectly accommodate four persons thanks to the special design body beneath which are positioned the light-weight FC Stack and two 70 MPa high-pressure hydrogen tanks.
The Toyota FC Stack has a power output density of 3 kW/L as well as an output of at least 136 hp (100 kW). The FC system is equipped with Toyota’s high-efficiency boost converter.

The next world premiere is for Toyota FV2 which is a very special concept car that shows the brand’s vision for the future. It is interesting that this concept does not use a steering wheel, but operates by the driver shifting their body to intuitively move the vehicle forward and back, left and right.

Furthermore, by the utilization of intelligent transport system technology to connect with other vehicles in the area and traffic infrastructure, Toyota FV2 provides the perfect safety driving. In such cases it signals with various advanced warnings about vehicles in blind spots at intersections.

What is even more spectacular here is that Toyota envisions an ever-developing driver-vehicle relationship. This will happen via the incorporation of “Toyota Heart Project”. To be more precise, the vehicle uses voice and image recognition to determine the driver’s mood, accumulated driving history to suggest destinations, and driving skill information. In addition to an augmented reality (AR) display on the windshield, the body color and exterior display can be changed at will.

The next premieres are for the Toyota Voxy Concept and Noah Concept which are the next-generation spacious minivans that offer a roomy interior needed demanded by families. To the vehicles has been added low-floor package which creates a class-leading roomy interior with outstanding ease of ingress and egress.

Furthermore, these Toyota concepts are seven-seaters that include ultra-long sliding Captain Seats in the second row, providing a diverse range of seating arrangements. They are equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine variant and a 1.8-liter hybrid variant with a full hybrid system.
The front end of the Noah Concept is sophisticated while the Voxy Concept employs exclusive aerodynamic parts to emphasize the low center of gravity, impressive wide-body, and the overwhelming sense of presence. Market versions of the vehicles are planned for launch in the Japanese market in early 2014.

The fifth model in the line of concept vehicles is Aqua G Sports which has a powerful, sleek and inspiring design and excellent fuel efficiency. Moreover, the car has been fully tuned by GAZOO Racing and its market version will be launched in the Japanese market in late November.

Mazda Concepts At 2013 SEMA Show

Four Mazda concept vehicles created by Mazda North American Operations’ (MNAO) made their official debuts at the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. As a basis were used 2014 Mazda3 and Mazda6 vehicles, which were refreshed in terms of design and performance.

Both a Mazda3 and Mazda6 were given “Club Sport” treatment. The general theme is a motorsports-inspired motif of neutral grays, blacks and reds. This includes Mazda Design-exclusive Composite Grey finish and Brilliant Black rooftop.

The Club Sport 6 Concept is equipped with a 14.0:1 low-compression SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter clean diesel engine, which produces 175 horsepower (129 kW) at 4,500 rpm and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque at 2,000 rpm.

The exterior paint is adorned with custom Club Sport graphics that include varying line frequency and width to create a sense of motion. Front, rear and side diffusers, and rear spoiler were also installed as a part of Mazda Design custom accessory aero kit. They were decided in a contrasting Brilliant Black gloss.

The Club Sport 6 vehicle runs on Rays 57 Motorsport G07FXX 20-inch Black and Machining-colored 10-spoke wheels coupled with sticky Yokohama S.drive 245/35R20 tires. New suspension is also at hand – H&R spring kit, while custom Brembo two-piece, six-piston 380×32 drilled brake rotors and a Racing Beat exhaust round out the entire sports-treatment.

Next, the Mazda Club Sport 3 Concept’s design is very similar to the previous one, but has a few extra robust features. Its exterior is decided in Slate White exterior finish, complemented by Metallic Silver lines that trace along the arches of the wheels, the base of the side skirts and the contours of the doors and C-pillars.

Contrasting texture and dynamic flow is delivered by the Vibrant Red vinyl which follows along with thin lines. Left unpainted are the dramatic alpha and numeric Black vinyl call-outs of the fuel door, tire size and SKYACTIV1 TECHNOLOGY pronounced across the hood.

Here was also used the aero kit which features Brilliant Black front, rear and side diffusers as well as a new rear spoiler style. The vehicle hides under its hood is SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine, coupled with tuned SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed manual transmission.

The unit utilizes short 4.7:1 final drive ratio and a Wavetrac helical limited-slip differential for additional torque. Enhancements in terms of performance include a CUSCO coilover kit, a Racing Beat performance exhaust and Brembo two-piece, six-piston 380×32 drilled brake rotors.

This Mazda runs on Rays 57 Motorsport G07FXX 20-inch Black and Machining-colored 10-spoke wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 235/35R19 road-gripping performance tires.

The interior of the car features Red aniline leather treatment throughout – seat trim, door panel inserts, center console, IP decor and a steering wheel stripe. The steering wheel, arm rest, emergency brake and shifter boot are wrapped in Premium Black leather to make the perfect contrast.

Moreover, the front seats include perforated leather within the seat bolsters with a diffusing line pattern in the seat back creating a “3,” identical to the Metallic Silver numeral painted onto the vehicle’s driver’s side door.

Trapezoidal Momo-inspired contrast-Red stitching is visible on the steering wheel and double-stitched tonal deck seams on the doors, seats and IP. The steering wheel also features a single Red aniline leather strip at the minimalist but top-of-mind high-noon position.

The third vehicle is the Vector 3 Concept that offers a base exterior color decided in Soul Red. Mazda Design custom blend of Deep Crimson in varying shades of depth highlight the “fractured line” treatment of the paint finish’s vector pattern.

The car sits on a set of Rays Volk Racing Original G25 19-inch wheels. They were encased in road-hugging Yokohama S.drive 225/40R19 performance tires. Other performance enhancemets feature an H&R spring kit and Brembo two-piece custom four-piston 365×29 drilled rotors.

The last concept shown at SEMA is the Ceramic 6 Concept which continues the design philosophy of the Vector 3. Here, the exterior patterns are identical on both sides, and also come to revoke the racing spirit of the model.

The exterior paint finish is Ceramic White littered with Taupe Silver accent stripes. The vehicle’s matte white finish was achieved via the utilization of a base metallic followed by a satin quality clear paint.

The exquisite Ceramic 6 rides on Rays Volk Racing Original G25 10-spoke, 20-inch wheels finished in Taupe Silver. Additional performance accessories include an H&R spring kit, a Racing Beat custom dual-exhaust and custom Brembo two-piece, six-piston 380×32 drilled rotors.

Going inside the concept, one sees premium soft leathers, intricate stitching and overlapping weave patterns. The interior of the car is wrapped all-around in supple full-grain leather in White, while Black leather is used for the steering wheel, arm rests, emergency brake and center console.

Accents are provided via metallic details. In addition, the steering wheel also includes Light White Momo-style stitching and it is finished with a matching leather strip at the high-noon position.

The front and rear seat inserts include interwoven light and dark White leather. At the same time, the hand-sewn Burgundy stitching additionally highlights the dynamic contrasting design. Light White leather inserts featuring the same hand-sewn Burgundy stitching pattern adorn the doors. It is also featured along the instrument panel décor.
