Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 to Compete in 2016 GT4 Championships

Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 Side View Last weekend, we witnessed the final round of the 2015 Trofeo World Series. The motorsport event took place at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit, making it the sixth and final season in Maserati’s single-make series to a close. Nevertheless, this isn’t the end of company’s sporting activities. Maserati has just announced that it will be back on track in 2016 with its super hero Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4. The car will be competing at international GT4 series run by private teams.

Basically, Maserati is returning to the GT4 category, after a distant debut in the 2009 European GT4 championship and a positive feedback from three ‘test races’ in 2015, at Road America, Laguna Seca and Misano. And the best part is that we will see Maserati battling on two fronts next season: the European GT4 Championships and the US Pirelli World Challenge.

However, before the start of the motorposrt events, the team must make some necessary modifications on the engine and regarding the aerodynamics. They are obligatory because of modifications required for GT4 homologation.

In general, car’s overall technical make-up will remain unchanged. This means that GranTurismo MC GT4 will keep its 4700cc engine, electro-actuated transmission with paddle-shift commands and the kerb weight of 1410 kg.

The change lies in the additional air scoop, which will reduce car’s power output to 430 bhp from its current 488 bhp. In addition, the newly-designed rear spoiler and modified diffuser will contribute towards car’s performance that will match the other GT4 cars. The final set up of the car will be established during the official pre-championship Balance of Performance (BoP) tests where the GT4 SRO homologation standards will be completed.

The company will be tracking the performance of all teams that will be racing in Europe and the USA. What is more, it will also give a special award for the best Maserati driver and team. Now, you can watch the Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 in a video below.

Fiat Releases Toro Pickup Dedicated for South America

Fiat Toro Front View This is Fiat Toro – a pickup truck, which will be distributed in South America only. This is very sad because the vehicle is based on Jeep’s Renegade and therefore it will be very reliable. The first official image of the truck, depicting it from the front has been released a couple of months ago and it is now time for the company to show a little bit more, or in other words – the rear.

The Brazilian department of Fiat also disclosed one of the first confirmed details about the Toro pickup. It will be driven by either of two engines: the gasoline 1.8 E-Torq Flex one, which produces 140 hp (103 kW) and the diesel 2.0 Multijet unit, capable of generating 170 hp (125 kW). Both variants will be available with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The transmissions here are six-speed manual gearbox, six- and nine- speed automatic.

We also know that the car is 4915 mm long and can carry into its basin up to one tonne. Depending on the additional equipment and the specifications, the truck can be also fitted with a multimedia system Uconnect navigation, Bluetooth interface and 5-inch touch screen, Dual zone climate-control, various driver assistance systems like Hill Descent Control, electric panoramic roof, rear parking sensors, daylight running lights, lights for fog and rain, auto-dimming rearview mirror, rearview camera and seat side curtain airbags.

The Toro seen on the rear-image also depicts large 18-inch alloy wheels. Fiat also said that it will equip the car with off-road suspension and other goodies.

Fiat Toro will make it onto the market in South America early next year, with production that has been already started in Brazil. Unfortunately, there are no plans of introducing the pickup in Europe or North America.

The Force Awakens with Top 5 Star Wars Themed Cars

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is probably the most discussed topic now. And it should be since this movie has left an indisputable and strong mark in the consciousness of at least three generations. From grandparents to grandchildren, everyone is going to the movie theaters with expectations of a grandeur experience. We are also excited about this world-movie-happening and this is why we decided to make a Top 5 of the Most Attractive Star Wars Themed Cars. This is how we are joining the verge of excitement around the premiere of one of the most emblematic films ever created.

Number 5: Darth Vader’s Viper ACR and Stormtrooper’s Challenger and Charger

We put the trio on fifth position, because of the little difference they have in comparison to the original cars. These three were seen rolling on the streets of Los Angeles this weekend, and probably many of you living there had the chance of meeting them. The pair of First Order Stormtrooper-themed white 707-horsepower Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat traveled in the company of the intimidating Kylo Ren-inspired wrapped black Dodge Viper ACR.

Powered by 8.4-liter V10 engine, the beautiful black Dodge Viper ACR produces 645 horsepower (474 kW) and 813 Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque. It transmits all this power onto the road via the Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission. The car also shows-off with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, 19-inch alloys and exclusive Kumho Ecsta V720 high-performance tires. Since Darth Vader drives this car, we are sure that he has chosen to add the Extreme Aero package, making sure that he will have the highest aerodynamic downforce of any production car.

Number 4: Blood Type Racing Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec

Blood Type Racing has revealed this Veloster Turbo R-Spec at the SEMA show in November this year. It seems that the Veloster has switched to the dark side just in time for the next Star Wars series. It definitely looks like a vehicle that the Sith Lord could drive. It is built with an abundant amount of carbon fiber and dressed in Carbon Black exterior paint scheme, highlighted with a red racing stripe running from the front splitter up onto the hood.

In addition, there is also a carbon fiber wide-body kit that is accompanied by front-mounted aero canards, front splitter and a rear deck spoiler. Red accents on the custom SSR three-piece wheels, along with red projector “demon eye” headlamps are making this car look really devilish. The force that awakes this car is the 1.6-liter “Gamma” four-cylinder engine, which achieves more than 500 horsepower due to ECU tuning!

Number 3: Fiat 500e Stormtrooper

On third position is Fiat’s Stormtrooper themed 500e, which has debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November and has caused great furor. Inspired by the First Order Legion, the exterior livery of this Fiat has unique two-tone black and white custom painting and wrapping, making it look like a helmet.

The interior of the car was decorated also in the contrasting combination of black and white. The seats got Alcantara treatment, while the dash was painted in white and enriched by the “Star Wars” logo. The First Order insignia can be also spotted on the two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel. By the way, this 500e should be attributed to the work of the specialists at Garage Italia Customs.

Number 2: Vilner BMW Stormtrooper

Vilner’s unique BMW M6- based project, called Stormtrooper, has been revealed one year ahead of the premiere of the new Star Wars episode. With its sparkling white color and power hidden in its forms, the car is reminiscent of the Imperial Army troops of Darth Vader. This car is one-of-a-kind, features exclusive detailing and powerful presence.

Almost everything in this cabriolet has been changed, starting from the front and rear bonnets, bumpers, rear fenders, and almost all components inside. Running on 20-inch black wheels, this cabrio carries and antique Nappa leather and brown Alcantara interior and a lot of exclusive detailing on the outside. Number 1: Hot Wheels Darth Vader Car

The first place is reserved for the Ultimate Darth Vader car! It just couldn’t be the other way around! We have shown you a video yesterday of Jay Leno’s experience with it, but if you haven’t watched it yet, you can do this in the link below.

Mattel Hot Wheels Darth Vader Car is a result of the collaboration between the two franchises, which has been also released in a 1:64 toy variant. This real-size car is powered by an LS3 V8 engine, which generates 526 horsepower (387 kW) and rides on custom red line tires. It also produces heavy breathing sounds associated with the Sith Lord. The powerful engine drives the rear wheels and also has a backlit, side-exit exhaust system. Furthermore, the “nose” of this unique car is made of carbon fiber, and its design is made in that way so it resembles Darth Vader’s mask. The wheels have been specifically designed for this car as are the unique triple headlights and the split windshield. And this is definitely a car worth of first position, because of all the work put on it.

2015 Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 Is Finally Here! And the Wait Was Worth It!

2015 AMG Mercedes-Benz SLC 43 The new Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 combines the German engineering excellence with the driving dynamics of AMG masterminds. The vehicle is geared with a 3.0-liter V6 Biturbo power unit that develops a total of 367hp (270kW) that surprisingly consumes just 7.8 liter of fuel per 100 kilometers, which means it is with 0,6 liters/100km more efficient than its predecessor. But of course, this is not the most interesting feature of the new Mercedes-AMG alliance. Further enhancements include especially developed suspension and model-specific mounts and numerous more engineering wonders and solutions that altogether make this vehicle unique and distinctive.

Capable of going from 0 to 100km/h (61mph) in just 4.7 seconds this sweetie also has a top speed of 250km/h (138mph). But despite the eye-catching speed capabilities, ALC 43 also excites with its completely restyled drivetrain system. So, let’s check it out. But first, the looks.

2015 Mercedes-Benz SLC: Excellence and Passion in a Single Vehicle

2015 Mercedes-Benz SLC 300 20 yeas have passed from the birth of the segment and now Mercedes-Benz team decides to relaunch the beauty with a new name: SLC. Optimized and improved, the vehicle has a lot to demonstrate and a lot to offer. Closely related to the C-CLass, the vehicle changes name to acknowledge the new sportier spirit it delivers. In fact, there are two additions to the lineup: Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 and the base model SLC 180. So, let’s check out what the new beauties have to offer.

Exterior design

As part of the facelift, Mercedes-Benz engineers have further enhaned the sporty look. In the front the sweetie proudly demonsstrates an arrow-shaped bonnet and a restyled diamond radiator grille. The sporty front section also includes a restyled bumper, new air intakers and distinctive headlights.

The sides demonstrate the well-known lines of a roadster with long bonnet and shorter rear. The appearance is defined by a sweet rising beltline and sweeping curve of the roof. The sporty 16- to 18-inch light alloy wheels further enhance the sporty, yet stylish appearance.

The rear of the vehicle proudly demonstrates a muscular wing and restyled bumper, black diffuser, elegant chrome details and integral tailpipe trim. Interior design

The cabin continues the beautiful and stylish exterior concept and at the same time offers numerous new features. Highlights include the dark aluminum parts and carbon-fiber elements. The central console has also undergone comprehensive revision. Generally the cabin welcomes you to a cozy, yet sporty and functional place.

The large TFT display gives every important information about vehicle’s condition, while the beautiful analogue clock with black dial can be ordered as an optional feature. Furthermore, the electroplated control panel for adjusting the seats and the electroplated multifunctional sterring wheel along with shift paddles ensure smooth and rewarding driving experience.

The leather features has also been heavily revised. The sun-reflexing leather upholstery and Nappa leather dominate the whole cabin and can be ordered with distinctive colored stitching. In fact, there are two additional colors: Saddle Brown and Platinum White.

Drivetrain system

The entry-level model is capable of producing a total of 156 hp (115kW) and offers a fuel consumption measured at 5.6L/100km and CO2 emissions of 127g/km. SLC 200 comes with power ouput of 184hp (135kW) and the SLC 300 offers 245hp (180kW). SLC 180 and 200 models are geared with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while 250d, 300 and SLC43 feature a comfort-oriented 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

Furthermore, the vehicles can switch driving characteristics via the DYNAMIC SELECT system that offers a total of five driving modes: “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport+”, “Eco” and “Individual”. All of them can be easily selecting with the pressign on a single button.

Additional equipment

The new features of SLC include the Active Brake Assist, radar-based proximity warning and braking assistance by Adaptive Brake Assist. Of course, Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist are part of the standard equipment.

The vehicles can also be optionally geared with LED Intelligent Light System that automatically adapts to the light and road conditions. This LED technology features low energy consumption, longlivery and of course, perfectly illuminated road ahead. Furthermore, the Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus will ensure the optimal lightning range.

Additional features are the Traffic Sign Assist, Reverse camera, Parking Assist PARKTRONIC and many more.

Infiniti Releases More Details For 2016 Q50 and QX60 Models

2016 Infiniti Q50 Infiniti reveals details for the improvement of two key models: 2016 Q50 Sport Sedan and 2016 QX60 Crossover. Vice President Randy Parker announced that the Q50 model will be available with three new turbocharged engines, which include a 400hp (294kW) monster, while the QX60 will offer a reshaped exterior and tweaked interior. So, let’s check out what is going on here.

As said, Q50 gets three new engines and the most notable one is the 400hp 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 power unit. It offers highest power output in class and this is also the most advanced unit that Infiniti has ever used. Built with lightweight aluminum, this sweetie adopts the Gasoline Direct Injection system, offers turbine blade design, turbine speed sensor, electronic wastegate actuator, water-cooled engine charging and a ton of additional goodies.

The second power unit is a 300hp (220kW) 2.0-liter turbo inline 4-cylinder beast that was created in conjuction with Daimler and will be available later in winter. In fact, in late winter we will witness the arrival of the new Q50 Hybrid with a 3.5-liter gasoline-electric hybrid engine.

And the third unit offers a total of 208hp (205kW) of output via a 2.0-liter turbo inline 4-cylinder system. It will be geared in Premium Q50 2.0t models.

Hyundai Releases Couple of Detailed Teasers of IONIQ

Hyundai IONIQ Exterior Teaser Hyundai IONIQ has been revealed in two additional teaser images after it has been introduced as a project a week ago. Now, the new renderings show the entire exterior of IONIQ and some exclusive details of the high-tech interior. It is obvious that the car looks innovative supporting its alternative-fuelling, and has head-turning aerodynamic looks which will offer excellent performance.

IONIQ will be the first car in the world which will offer a choice of three efficient and ultra-low-emission powertrains. The first one is entirely electric, the second is a combination of a plug-in gasoline and an electric hybrid, and the third will offer gasoline/electric hybrid propelling. In other words, the car is destined to deliver responsive driving experience, which also meets the needs of reducing the impact on the environment.

This ideology is reflected in the name of IONIQ, which references elements of its creation. ION is an electrically-charged atom, linking to the car’s clever combination of electrified powertrains. The second part of the name references how unique this car is to Hyundai’s range, while the Q is depicted in the car’s logo as a visual breakthrough.

Exterior

The first image shows that Hyundai IONIQ has a sleek, coupe-like silhouette. There are a lot of intriguing details, contributing for enhanced aerodynamic characteristics. The contours will minimize wind resistance and efficiently manage the airflow around the exterior. The front of the car is typical for Hyundai’s design, and features signature hexagonal grille with active ‘flaps’ that can direct airflow over the car. At the grille we see a gloss-black element that extends outwards to the new headlamps with integrated ‘C’-position lights.

There is nothing much shown of the cabin. But we can see that it is smooth, elegant and clutter-free. There will be probably an efficient utilization of interior space as well as layout of control functions. The surfaces appear simple but stylish. Hyundai also said that they will be made of eco-friendly materials to convey a futuristic yet warm cabin ambience.

Hyundai IONIQ is going to be launched in the beginning of next year. But first, it will be premiered in Korea in January, and in March Geneva and New York.

The Hyper High-Tech Interior

Σtos is a self-driving with a lot of technical highlights, especially throughout the interior. Take for instance the folding and retracting steering wheel from ZF TRW, which disappears in the dashboard in a few seconds. And as you can see from the pictures, this creates lots of space in front letting the driver enjoy in a comfort the old-fashioned way… a book. Or they can work in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition, the position of the two curved 21.5-inch Ultra HD widescreen monitors is adjustable to provide an even better view of what’s on display.

The infotainment experience is secured by the innovative Harman Connected Car technologies. This technology also allows smooth media streaming as well as efficient and targeted vehicle updates.

Everything is also linked to the traffic infrastructure such as traffic lights or traffic management systems and to other cars. In addition, the ‘E-Horizon’ delivers innovative safety and convenience features.

The tuning brand decided to start where the Lamborghini manufacturer has stopped. The engineers madewonders with the weight reduction via the added customized 2-part full-carbon rim FIWE ultra-light forged wheels and the especially created and handcrafted exhaust system with integrated valve flap system that reduces 6 kg of the total weight.

But the aerodynamic and weight-reduction improvements are not the only one made onto the lucky Lambo. The engineering team also tweaked a bit the engine with remapped software and now the V12 power unit delivers the monstrous 800hp (588 kW) of power output and 710Nm of torque. All these changes do not enhance the top speed, instead reduce the acceleration with the good 0,1 second.

Wheelsandmore Decides to Take Closer Look to a Lucky Mercedes-AMG Vehicle

2015 Wheelsandmore Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe The all-time favorite to tuners Mercedes GLE 63 Coupe received even more improvements by the German tuner Wheelsandmore. The engineers decided to take a closer look to the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe and have made some changes here and there. Let’s check out what are the results.

The good people at Wheelsandmore managed to deliver a total of four upgrade packages named Stages. The higher the number of the “stage” the more powerful the upgraded vehicle is. Simple as that.

The first stage, Stage 1 offers a total of 592hp (435kW) of power output and 850 Nm of torque and a special software optimization and F1 Air Cleaner kit

Stage 2 comes with 661hp (486kW) and the titanic 1,050 Nm of torque. This impressive power output is achieved via comprehensive engine modifications and additional metal catalysts.

Order Stage 3 and get a Mercedes-AMG vehicle with 690hp (507kW) and 1,100Nm of torque with additional valve-controlled exhaust system and some additional features.

And the last stage, Stage 4 comes with power, measured at 781hp (547kW) and 1,100Nm of torque with added valve-controlled exhaust system and tons of additional components.
